Carnegie Diner & Cafe is one of those places you immediately want to come back to. From the moment you sit down, you notice how welcoming and efficient the service is—super attentive without ever feeling rushed. The menu is impressively large, offering a wide variety of choices to suit any craving. Whether you’re in the mood for classic deli staples, juicy burgers, hearty steaks, or shareable appetizers, you’ll find something that hits the spot. A highlight for me is their pastrami—it’s cooked to perfection, tender, and seasoned just right. You can taste the care that goes into preparing it, and it captures that authentic New York deli flavor with a little extra finesse. With generous portions, great flavors, and top-notch service, Carnegie Diner & Cafe feels like the perfect balance between a classic New York deli and a modern comfort spot. Definitely a place worth trying, whether you’re a local or just visiting the city.

Needed to grab some breakfast with the family preparing for a very busy day. The reviews on Carnegie Diner & Cafe were excellent and did not disappoint. We were warmly greeted upon entering and had a few minutes wait before being seated. The restaurant has SO much lovely art work adorned on the walls that I found myself daydreaming of each and everyone. Our server was Alexandra, and she was friendly, professional and provided us with great insight on the menu and asked about any dietary restrictions. After placing our order within minutes our food had arrived. My youngest son flipped over their pancakes on a stick, they were truly a hit. Our entire meal, service and experience was a total success. Would rate 10/10 on all levels, and would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal, reasonably priced and great service, please check out Carnegie Diner & Cafe, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Fantastic Meal at Carnegie Diner & Café – Times Square Vibes Done Right! We had an outstanding experience at Carnegie Diner & Café in Times Square! From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent and impressively fast — a big plus in such a busy area. The decor screamed Times Square in the best way, with bold design and oversized, super comfy booths that made our whole visit extra enjoyable. I ordered the pastrami Reuben, and wow — it was stacked with half a pound of juicy, flavorful pastrami, perfectly melted cheese, and tangy Russian dressing on toasted rye. I upgraded to the truffle oil & Parmesan fries, and they were absolutely to die for — crispy, rich, and addictive. Our table also tried a classic burger (juicy and satisfying), crispy onion rings, chicken and waffles (a perfect sweet-and-savory combo), and a creamy, comforting fettuccine Alfredo. We kicked things off with a spinach pie appetizer — it had a flaky, light crust filled with savory spinach, cheese, and herbs. Truly a delicious start! This place checks all the boxes — delicious food, speedy service, and a fun, comfortable setting in the heart of NYC. A definite must-visit if you're in the Times Square area!

This place satiated my craving for a pastrami sandwich! For real though, this place has pretty much everything you could ever want to order, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My sandwich was amazing and they loaded that sucker with pastrami. I’d for sure come back here to try other things on their insanely packed menu.

Google
My husband discovered this place when reading reviews for a good lunch spot during our busy day sightseeing. He had the reuben, daughter had pesto pasta, and I ordered fettuccine alfredo. Everything was delicious. My daughter has an obsession with pesto and absolutely loved her meal. Service was great, with very reasonable prices. It was a nice place to eat while cooling off from walking around all morning in the August heat.

I usually avoid the tourist-heavy spots around Times Square when it comes to food, but I ended up walking into Carnegie Diner after seeing all the great reviews. I have to say, it absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious. The pastrami sandwich was the star of the meal—packed with flavor, served on amazing bread, and the portion was huge. We all left feeling very, very full and happy. One small hiccup was the fountain Coke, which was flat and didn’t taste great. We ended up switching to canned soda, which was a much better option. The restrooms could also use a little more attention when it comes to cleanliness. Aside from that, the experience was wonderful. We didn’t have a reservation, and although it was very crowded, we waited about ten minutes before being seated at a lovely window-side table with a view of the city. All in all, a great surprise find in the middle of a very busy part of Manhattan. I would definitely come back.

Fantastic food and energy! True New York diner experience. Huge menu, everything we ordered was delicious (the milkshakes are a meal unto themselves!). Great service, clean, and right in the heart of everything. Highly recommend.

Unexpected Kindness & Great Food! This location of Carnegie Diner gave us one of the best experiences during our NYC trip. Our server, Andy, was warm, friendly, and truly went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. At one point, a server accidentally spilled some dishes and drinks near our table. It was a busy time, and we completely understood—things happen! We reassured them that we weren’t upset and even helped a little. Later, the staff surprised us with a complimentary round of mimosas as a thank-you for our patience. That thoughtful gesture meant a lot. People often say New Yorkers can be rude, but this experience was the exact opposite. The kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality at Carnegie Diner really stood out. Plus, the food was amazing—classic diner comfort with a modern touch. Highly recommend this spot—especially if you’re lucky enough to be served by Andy!

Yelp
Service- 18/10! Our waitress was wonderful! Definitely make a reservation because this place was PACKED! We had a group of 5 that enjoyed some mimosas, they were strong! Chicken pancakes - they weren't chicken tenders like advertised but they were still good, pancakes fluffy and light Peanut butter bacon pancakes- it said it was going to be peanut butter chips within the pancakes but it was actually just a lot of peanut butter melted on top and was way too much. Pancakes were good as is though Pancakes came with a glass bottle of maple syrup which was lovely! The French toast and pancakes came with a cup of fruit which was really good the other meals came with a small salad Classic French toast was good but didn't come with syrup so they were very dry Eggs Benedict was great! No complaints! Steak and eggs were cooked perfectly The side of bacon was melt in your mouth!

Yelp
TOURIST TRAP WARNING! Do not attempt Sunday Breakfast/Brunch without a reservation, don't be late, have everyone in your party, and you still will have a wait for marginal food & service. The food gets one star because it started decently (but delivered cold), and one for the cooks- serving a pressing throng from a smallish kitchen. Trust me, I won't be back without a reservation... (if at all, if the food & service doesn't improve. ) Came in for Sunday breakfast at 11, without a reservation (walk in) told the wait was 30 min. We weren't seated until 90 min later. Ugh. They should just say "Sorry, reservations only on Sunday morning" - and even then you should still expect a 30-45min wait. Reservations seemed get seated every 30 min, and I saw that if you aren't all there, you will loose your spot in line. We waited anyway, and waited patiently, but we should have left. The ambiance is LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! I could barely hear our server when we did get seated at a wobbly table. I ordered apple pancakes, hash browns & a bagel w/cream cheese. The bagel was smashed flat, but at least had a decent smear. The apples were a canned pie filling with some bagged pecans, but were at least decent size. My hash browns were warm, but my spouses omelette, hash browns, and teens burger were cold. And getting a refill for the coffee was a three ask affair... and each one was 5 minute apart. The bartender had to enlist to clear tables repeatedly. And there were plenty of staff about... but disappeared often. And the cooks certainly seemed busy, so not sure about all the disorganization. Seriously, we waited for this? I like a NYC deli, but- The food was average, the price is high (3 people, $100), the service was low to marginal, and the ambiance was deafening. Hint: You are far better off going around the corner and ordering from the Carnegie Deli Bagel take out shop- far more pleasant, and the bagels are far fresher and not squashed flat. (We got 6 for a friend.)

Yelp
Have you ever gone to a restaurant where the menu is so big you can't make up your mind? I'm not complaining about the menu size - it's incredible. There's literally something for everyone, even the pickiest eater in the group. They serve breakfast all day, have a pre-fixe theater menu, and have the largest and most creative shakes! Because there was so much we wanted to try, we had to dedicate 2 nights to this place on our NYC trip. The service was excellent. Only minor complaint is how close all of the tables are, but it's New York and I'm sure they are serving thousands of people a day! Let's get into the food: Brussel Sprouts: 3.5/5. The flavor for these are incredible but they were a little too mushy. I wish they were slightly more solid. French Toast: 5/5. The French toast was incredible. Did not disappoint and was packed with so many toppings. Definitely not like a French toast I have had before. The apples were incredible. Not Pictured: Morning Sunshine Burger: 5/5. This burger makes for the perfect combination of breakfast and dinner. Whoever invented adding an egg to a burger was a genius. The fries that come with the burger and perfectly crispy. Yum! Pastrami Reuben: 5/5. They definitely did not skimp on the pastrami, the sandwich was LOADED. Overall, these two visits were very pleasant. Can't wait to eat my way through this menu!

Yelp
Went here again and the food was really good. Pancakes nice crispy and fluffy. I ordered an omelet that had 3 meats in it. As I was cutting into it taking bites I noticed there were mushrooms. I am not allergic but if I were allergic that would've been a big problem. They took it back to replace it but that was a big problem

Yelp
Solid food with a classic diner vibe. Service was a bit inconsiderate as they were trying to move us out as quick as possible to make room for a reservation. Burger was very good, loved the caper aioli sauce. Kinda skimped out on the fries. The chicken was perfect, juicy and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was bland and would not order it again. Overall 6.89 / 10

Yelp
Been here recently and the food was great. Good size portions. Salad are really good. It's a busy place so make a reservation or you might wait a bit.

Yelp
Prefacing this with the fact that I'm a local, I have eaten in person and ordered for delivery multiple times from here with little issue, however this review is solely for my delivery order in November. I ordered online for delivery - as I have many times before, received the tracking link, and continued on with my day waiting for the delivery. I realize over an hour has passed and check the tracking, still says preparing for delivery. Finally about an hour and 20 minutes after my order was submitted I call and ask about my order. I'm told no one came to pick it up, it's still there, and they don't do delivery. I explain I ordered through their own website and was charged a delivery fee. They restate they don't do delivery, my order was for pickup and tell me my two options are to come and get it or cancel the order. I tell them I'm unable to cancel because the order was submitted through their website. At some point in all this I was passed off to a manager who states the same thing, someone asks where I live, says that it's far away (I don't think a few blocks qualifies as far away) and they are busy, but will call me back. Well after we hang up I see a few minutes later the status is updated to "courier dispatched". At this point I'm upset knowing they are sending me the same food that's been sitting out all this time. An hour and a half after I place the order I have the cold food in my hands and see "delivery" right at the top of the receipt. They really expected an order with the word delivery at the top of the receipt would be coming to pick up?! They finally try to call back after I've received the delivery, but I'm fuming at this point and would have yelled at someone over the phone for thinking it's a fine idea to send out food that has probably been sitting out for an hour at this point. I'm incredibly disappointed that someplace I have enjoyed returning to over the years would show such negligence towards their customers by sending out cold food that could get someone sick.

Yelp
I have been walking by this diner for awhile. I finally decided to go in with my friend recently and it didn't disappoint. The diner has breakfast and brunch all day. The first waitress wasn't that attentive. However, when she left Esme was an amazing waitress. They have an amazing happy hour 7 days a a week. My friend & I decided to try the unlimited mimosas. It tasted awful the orange juice was too think and you could tell it was pre made. I switched to a Margarita and it was delicious. I ordered the Southern Chicken & Waffles. The dish was severed with mpile syrup My friend ordered a steak dish. She was upset that they cut the streak for you. That wasn't expressed when we ordered food. Overall it was a good experience. They have a bar area, which is rare for a diner. I would return.

Yelp
The food was good, definitely different vibe than the other location. Our waiter wasn't too thrilled to be working so we had to ask for everything, like ordering, drinks. Food was good had the supreme breakfast and the French toast.

Yelp
Great selection of Food, Drinks and Desserts here. Not cheap, not expensive, but worth it. Overall I would recommend this place if expense is not a thing for you and you're in Midtown/Hell's Kitchen. There are a ton of options to choose from. You will definitely feel like you're in New York City once you enter. Everything that I ordered tasted good. Quick service, food was delivered in a timely manner. Server suggested New York Cheesecake over Baklava. Nothing took a long time to be ready but satisfied with the quality and taste. Service here was all good. Large area both indoor and outdoor including bar style seating with a nice NYC themed decoration. Unisex restroom's, ask a server for 4-digit code. You'll enter a restroom with all black colored toilet. I've seen this at another restaurant in San Francisco, not that many restaurants have this type of thing. On my way out of the restaurant, there were many posters on the window advertising Happy Hour Unlimited Momosa's for $19.95 served all day long all week long! I would come every layover but wouldn't mind being here on special occasions too.

Yelp
Albeit the epic chocolate cake was absolutely delicious, just about everything else fell flat. The drinks were absolutely awful whether it was a margarita or an espresso martini- just not good at all. The cheesecake my friend had ordered was very subpar as well. On top of that, the service was really bad. I get it- you're busy it's late in the day but that isn't an excuse to have such a bad attitude. If I do come back, it would be simply to take that moist layered chocolate cake to go.

Yelp
I came upon Carnegie Diner after going to a show nearby with a group and we were looking for a diner to eat at and this was one of the few places that did not close on the early side. The place was bustling and filled with tourists but we were sat fairly quickly. The service was fairly quick as we got our order shortly after we placed it. I ordered the pastrami on rye and ordered a side of fries. The pastrami on rye was pretty sizeable and fine for the most part. Not the best pastrami on rye in the city. That crown still belongs to Katz Deli. The fries were good. Someone in our group also ordered the pancake, which was very tasty. Overall, I would recommend giving Carnegie Diner a try if you're in midtown and looking for some Americana type food that's not from a chain.

Yelp
Reviewing for the Door Dash pick up order I placed because I knew the wait to eat here would be crazy. Got a few breakfast sandwiches & their famous pastrami. Walked right in to the pick up line bypassing over 15 parties waiting to be seated. Also, no photos of the WOW pastrami because it was devoured pretty quickly. 18 oz. of naval wagyu pastrami on rye bread ($27) comes with a salad, coleslaw, sauerkraut, and a pickle. So. So. Good!

Yelp
Was in NY in early January & my wife, & I went there for breakfast. The restaurant was extremely busy

Essie L.

Yelp
Not too many safe choices in the area before a show so we came here. Made a reservation and still had to wait about 10 mins, which was fine. The bathroom line was LONG on a Saturday, we gave up and went to the theatre instead. Service was a bit slow, but they were packed and I feel they're shortstaffed. Our server was nice and efficient when she finally came to our table. Food was what you'd expect from a diner, nothing fancy and kind of meh. Steak was overcooked but still edible. Prices are okay for the area.
google avatar

Melanie T.

Yelp
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food came out crazy fast. I'm a hot chocolate and French Toast connoisseur so I'll rate those first: hot chocolate was your traditional diner hot cocoa but definitely on the top end. If you like the diner hot cocoa, and I do, you'll like it. The French Toast wasn't the best I've ever had as it was a little over done but it was sent out with a ton of fruit and whipped cream on top. Kudos for that! My husband ordered the other breakfast with the hash browns, eggs, bacon etc... he really enjoyed it and it was a ton of food. The hash browns were a big hit for him! I enjoyed the traditional New York diner vibe and close proximity to our hotel. Great service.
google avatar

Victoria K.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by breakfast here. I know it's a very popular spot (it was bustling when we were there), and we had a fairly large party but they did a good job taking care of us even though at times we had to wait (it was to be expected). Everyone enjoyed their food. I tried the BLT Pesto Bowl and loved it. It was really creative and different from other breakfast dishes I had in the past. Kind of a BLT salad meets eggs benedict in a way. This wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast/brunch in the city, but I'm glad I got to try it and would recommend it if you're in the area.

Yelp
There a couple of these in NY and one should try them as many as possible. Each offers amazing food and atmosphere! Absolutely our favorite deli's. They offer breakfast and brunch and dinner all day long.

Randy D.

Yelp
Went in the night and server was not good. First she sits us down in the smallest table, while other tables of 2 were sat in larger tables, and they weren't even busy. She did not check up on us while we ate (serve water) but did for the tables around us. The minute one of us finished our meal she brought the check while I was still eating. There were other tables around us that had been there longer but did not bring them the check as quickly as she did for us. Food was fine (3stars), but the service made for a bad eating experience. Tall waitress should be retrained. Personally would not go back.

Yelp
Slowest service ever 2 stars for having a menu with gluten free and vegetarian options labeled Prices are typical midtown prices Atmosphere is very eat n' park Keywords: celiac, gluten free, vegetarian, vegan

Yelp
Popped into this great diner. Quite large with a lot of seating. The walls are decorated like you're in the Carnegie theater. This morning I only had an everything bagel with cream cheese and decided to get an order of bacon with it. My husband got a scrambled egg breakfast that came with potatoes, toast, and an organic salad. He also ordered a side of bacon. Now the bacon was about five dollars for an order, but there were at least five pieces of bacon on each plate.! Everything I saw here on plated meals was humongous. You will not leave here hungry! Service was great, always refilling coffee and water. We would come back and maybe try a dinner.!

Yelp
Located in the Times Square area this diner offers good breakfast/brunch/lunch menu. Staff is super efficient and you don't have to wait at all or long if you do for a table. The pastrami was excellent, and all the carbs did the trick! Yogurt and granola was a very generous portion. Clean and well-maintained. the diner vibe is open and modern. Prices are what you would expect for this area of the city.
google avatar

Kameron C.

Yelp
While it may be touristy, the food and the vibe were top notch. It has the New York feel to enjoy a hearty portioned brunch. Services were a bit slow due to some of the crowds but the servers were friendly. Recommend it if you are looking for a simple traditional breakfast/ brunch place.
google avatar

Sumi K.

Yelp
The restaurant was full when we had a brunch at 11:15am before we attended MJ the musical at Neil Simon theatre. The table was very close to one another. We started with coffee which was good and it was also a refill. The pastrami burger was juicy which came with salad and French fries. The French toast was very tasty with a lots of sweet blueberries, strawberries. The cantaloupe didn't taste good. The steak and eggs with hash was also good. We had to flag down our waitor for napkins and refill of our coffee. The bill came out to $110.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Quick service, hearty portions and tasty. I had the powerhouse omelette which was very good. Will come back.

Yelp
My family and I came from out of town and didn't know what to eat on our last day. When we walked pass by and saw the cafe, it was busy every single time. So we decided to give it a try. Service was quick, we were greeted right from the moment we walked in. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Food came quick and did not disappoint at all. Everything looked amazing and tasted equally incredible. The cafe has a cute type of feel to it. Will definitely come back if I am in NYC again as well as recommend this place.
google avatar

Carmen T.

Yelp
Overall great meal! It is quite pricey for a diner, but it is a little more upscale than the typical and it is New York. I deducted one star for the meal costing $75 for two things and no drinks. The pasta and shrimp had so much flavor and the pastrami sandwich was awesome, especially if you add the coleslaw. The service was great with a friendly atmosphere, I would come back! Just to note- the seats are quite close together to other people.

Yelp
First time we visited we met our friend here for lunch. Nick greeted all of us at the door & seated us promptly with a smile. Paul was our server. He was fantastic! His friendly manner and accommodating style won us over immediately. When he took a photo of the 3 of us (hadn't seen each other in a year!), we asked if he'd be in it too! Husband had the pastrami (not as big as in the photo, but it was good!). I had the French toast, strawberries & blueberries with whipped cream, and maple syrup from a small sealed bottle (it was all so good I finished every bite). Our friend had some kind of fried chicken that was so big she brought half home. She ate all her hash browns. We were all full. The 2nd visit was just the two of us for dessert. We bought 2 cookies to go, and each cookie was so big that each lasted 3 days. It was worth the $16.33 for both of them! The place is comfortable with large windows facing 57th and 8th. It's clean and great for people watching.

Yelp
We went to see a broadway show, The Book of Mormon, which by the way was hilarious. After the show we were hungry so we went to Carnegie Diner. Looking through the menu, I was surprised to see all the options. It was a bit overwhelming but one item seriously caught my eye which was the wagyu beef PASTRAMI BURGER. I removed the bread and just did lettuce. Nonetheless, it was a lot of food because it came with fries and a salad. I was blown away away with the amount of food, I was starving after the show so I was happy. Not only is the price affordable, the quality of my PASTRAMI BURGER was delicious. The service was also very friendly and attentive and the ambiance truly does give off a diner vibe. Overall we had a great experience.

Yelp
After running 13 miles in Central Park nothing hits more than BRUNCH! we made a reservation like 2 weeks in advance - and immediately when we walked in (30 min early to our reservation) the restaurant was BUSY! we wanted to see if we could get seated early but they actually sat us almost 20 minutes later than our reservation. was really disappointed in that because so many walk ins were getting priority over people who had reservations i will say the food comes our very quick- and everything was pretty delicious. i ordered the powerhouse omelette and freshly squeezed orange juice. the orange juice you could tell was fresh - and the omelette was very savory but nothing special here. this entire meal had me so full - good the portions were generous everyone enjoyed their food and we were in and out in probably one hour. our server was so kind and wished me and my friend congrats since we ran a half marathon which was incredibly sweet. would probably not return though because the wait was insane - otherwise solid diner food.

Yelp
Amazing and friendly servers. The place is located right off the strip and is an amazing find if you're looking for some great breakfast at any time or comfort food. The dining hall is clean and has a very retro feel while also feeling modern. Ordered the pastrami sandwich and it was loaded with amazing meat. We also got bottomless mimosas and while they have too much orange juice in their mixture, they were very fast to make sure my glass was always full!

Yelp
My friend and I were supposed to see Wicked, but it was sold out. We decided to go to Times Square to go to Havana Central, but it was too crowded. We tried Dos Caminos, but it too was crowded, and they weren't taking any walk-ins, we tried The Pink Taco, but it was too crowded as well. BBQs had a line so long that it was almost at the end of the block. Luckily, my friend had gone to Carnegie Diner and Café, and we were able to snag a reservation. The reservation was for 8:15 pm, and we arrived at 7:40 pm. We were waiting, and after 5 minutes, our table was ready. We both ordered The Southern chicken sandwich, which came with salad, fries, and coleslaw. We also ordered onion rings and wings. The food was delicious. The onion rings came with a sweet dipping sauce but we swapped it out for ranch. Also, The Southern chicken sandwich is supposed to be spicy but it wasn't. It was still good but don't expect it to be spicy. I definitely recommend Carnegie Diner and Café, and I want to go back and get the steak as I hear it's delicious!

Yelp
This place looks so great from the outside...but never judge a book by its cover. Looking for a late night, post show bite we found ourselves at Carnegie Diner and we also found ourselves rather disappointed. Their dining room has ample seating and is well lit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with the vibe of the city it sits in. After perusing the rather bountiful menu we decided on our order: California Omelette and Avocado Toast. The plates arrived after a brief wait and we were served huge portions of really great looking food, we couldn't wait to dig in. Unfortunately what we found was that while the food looked great as did the portions it was so bland, unseasoned, and flavorless. While we may have left the restaurant full we also left unsatisfied. We found ourselves with a longing to have gone elsewhere for dinner as we walked back to our hotel. Service was fine, they didn't go above and beyond but we also weren't left needing anything. Looking back the decor and service were the best things about our overall visit but they were not anywhere near enough to warrant a return visit.

Yelp
Still a very solid option after leaving or going to a broadway production. I always have a quick drop in, but surely looking forward to experiencing a full meal, as this time was a great experience. GLOWS: -The pancakes are delicious! So buttery and fluffy. A full order is on the expensive side, but definitely shareable. They are also served with real maple syrup! -It's a very popular place, but we were able to get a reservation for after our play by getting a name on the list for a specific time. -The cheesecake is always a hit. I would like to try some other desserts. - Cool decor and theme throughout restaurant. GROWS: -mocktail options are expensive for what you get and thwy are not consistent in the preparation. I received a drink that was not dressed on my last visit, which made it even more NOT worth the price tag.

Yelp
First things first. The Carnegie Diner and Café is not connected in any way with the Carnegie Deli. It even says so on the menu. It doesn't matter. The dining room is large, well lit, nicely decorated and has both booths and tables for seating. The menu is extensive, with a large selection of all-day breakfast items, sandwiches, soups, salads, and entrées. The portions are generous, and according to me and my fellow table mates, cooked to perfection. There are also limited selections for vegetarians and vegans. Our server, Devon, was professional, polite, efficient, and funny. He was also astute enough to ask if anyone had any food allergies before sending in our orders. Although the request to provide allergy information is printed on most menus these days, it was a good idea that he asked all of us...just in case.

Yelp
Love the new location of Carnegie Diner! The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is attentive. I like going in for a quick bite and the Cafe delivers on classic comfort food. Two of my favorites are the cheeseburger and crispy fries for the ultimate comfort food and the Pastrami Sandwich. If you're a fan of deli-style sandwiches, their pastrami sandwich is a must-try. Picture tender, thinly sliced pastrami piled high on rye bread. It's a New York staple, and Carnegie Diner does it justice.

Yelp
It's everything you could want from a dinner. Big menu, lots of vegan options. Large portions. Delicious. Good service!

Yelp
Great option if you are going to see a Broadway show with a mixed group of vegans and non vegans. They have a plant based section of their menu which was really nice. The impossible burger didn't come with cheese even though it's pictured with cheese on the menu which was a bit disappointing, but it was so pretty good. Service was very slow but it was also a busy Sunday so it happens!!

Yelp
Had my birthday breakfast here on Sunday. Had the meat omelette and it was delicious. The coffee was also very good. Great location in midtown. Can't wait to try their lunch menu too. Our server was nice as well as the entire staff. Gets busy so book your reservation online.

Yelp
3.5 not rounding up Will come again Where New Yorkers go fro brunch One step up from the typical dinner BIG portions I have managed to get Sat under 15 minutes with no reservation on Saturday at 2PM and Saturday again at 1PM Perhaps because it is always busy, there's something they will miss. For example, vanilla latte will be too sweet or your burger will be a tad bit overcooked Ambiance & crowd You see New Yorkers here, real New Yorkers. Diverse crowd Price 1/5 $25 for an impossible meat burger is too much considering it has only the basics toppings, so instead, I got the Central Park burger and subbed in the impossible patty and paid the same price but got cheese and blue cheese at no extra charge

Yelp
A little confusion on where to check in when you first walk in but we eventually got seated. The food was okay, they give you A LOT of food!!! The orange juice was like the best fresh squeezed OJ that I've ever tasted. Clean restrooms which are a plus when you're out and about in NY.

Yelp
Carnegie Diner & Cafe is a great go to for good food and good service. Yes there's lots of tourists but when I go to a Broadway Show I make a reservation. The service is very good when you need to get to the show on time. I like the Spinach Pie. What's great is the salad they give you with your order. It makes the meal complete. I admit I visit when it's a special occasion. Family always enjoys their meal before or after a show! Try it!

Yelp
The place was clean, the service was above and beyond. And the food was great. Everything came so fast and everything on the plate was hot! They give you so much food! This plate was huge. Even the kids menu plate was huge! Will come here again.

Yelp
Vibe: 5/10 Service: 4/10 Value: 2/10 Lobster roll: 2/10 Omelette with toast and potatoes: 1/10 Everything was sorely lacking in flavor. I don't think the potatoes or the omelette even had any salt on them. The lobster roll bun was not toasted or buttered. One half of the toast was slightly toasted, but the other half was completely raw... not sure how that happened. We were very disappointed by our experience. Overall: 2.8/10 (1.4/5)

Yelp
Perhaps the best diner I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. From the food to the people , everything I had was amazing. NYC is lucky to have this place. I visit NYC often and I've never been disappointed but this place has got to be at the top of my list and it should be on yours as well. I hope you try it and have the same experience as I have. Eat well cause life is fleeting.

Yelp
Good spot! Nice vibes, friendly staff! Location can't be much better if you're in town for a show as its situated in the heart of the Theater District. I had a salad and my partner and I shared an order of wings and a slice of their carrot cake! All three hit the spot :) The salad was crisp and had a lot of cheese on it, the cake was fresh and all around delicious!

Yelp
Such a busy spot, I was lucky to make it to the counter. I ordered from here a few times, iced teas, Bagels, Blueberry Muffins & orange Juice. The staff is super friendly & always so helpful.

Yelp
Impromptu work from home lunch outing to Carnegie Diner and it was meh, jut okay. Our eggs were made nice and runny like I like them, the fries were decent bacon okay and the pancakes were fluffy but nothing was wow. The "salad" on my plate was mushy and too wet and the mozzarella sticks were hard. We went at around 2:30pm and it felt busy in the place even though the tables in the restaurant were barely full. The waitress was nice which is a plus. The place was just meh.
