TOURIST TRAP WARNING! Do not attempt Sunday Breakfast/Brunch without a reservation, don't be late, have everyone in your party, and you still will have a wait for marginal food & service.
The food gets one star because it started decently (but delivered cold), and one for the cooks- serving a pressing throng from a smallish kitchen.
Trust me, I won't be back without a reservation... (if at all, if the food & service doesn't improve. )
Came in for Sunday breakfast at 11, without a reservation (walk in) told the wait was 30 min. We weren't seated until 90 min later. Ugh. They should just say "Sorry, reservations only on Sunday morning" - and even then you should still expect a 30-45min wait.
Reservations seemed get seated every 30 min, and I saw that if you aren't all there, you will loose your spot in line. We waited anyway, and waited patiently, but we should have left.
The ambiance is LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! I could barely hear our server when we did get seated at a wobbly table.
I ordered apple pancakes, hash browns & a bagel w/cream cheese. The bagel was smashed flat, but at least had a decent smear. The apples were a canned pie filling with some bagged pecans, but were at least decent size. My hash browns were warm, but my spouses omelette, hash browns, and teens burger were cold.
And getting a refill for the coffee was a three ask affair... and each one was 5 minute apart. The bartender had to enlist to clear tables repeatedly. And there were plenty of staff about... but disappeared often. And the cooks certainly seemed busy, so not sure about all the disorganization.
Seriously, we waited for this? I like a NYC deli, but- The food was average, the price is high (3 people, $100), the service was low to marginal, and the ambiance was deafening.
Hint: You are far better off going around the corner and ordering from the Carnegie Deli Bagel take out shop- far more pleasant, and the bagels are far fresher and not squashed flat. (We got 6 for a friend.)
