"Need a quick rush of adrenaline in Elmhurst? Walk into this Colombian butcher shop and ask for an arepa or a bowl of sopa de albondigas. There’s no place to sit down, the place smells like fresh meat, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Bring some cash, take in the shimmering chains of sausage links, and have an internal battle about whether or not you should buy every single Colombian snack you see on the shelves." - hannah albertine, nikko duren
I don't like the smell at all but I do come with my mom when she has to buy meat from here, meat quality perfecto for me and the family. Nothing bad about the place only the smell for me.

Horrible, place to buy . I come from
Another state to buy Colombian products. And prices are so high, plus when I got home checking the items realized that must of cookies crackers butter milk almost everything were expired . So sad when you are paying for that selling old bad things to people . That choose to come to your place . And that’s how that serve to us . I don’t recommend this place at all . They never have time on phone either to help you out with a product . Go somewhere else . Not value for costumers here .

No vengan aquí! Te venden CARNE PODRIDA!! Do not come here. They will sell you ROTTEN MEAT. I bought a piece of cow tongue here and when I got home I realized it was black and spoiled. I had to go back for a refund. Also whoever they hire to slice the meat does a terrible job. Please go to the carniceria on 80th. Avoid this place

Don’t go there! The old butcher man, that works there increases the price of the meat. When the price of the tag says $4.99 lb for meat; and he inputs on the weight scale $5.99 lb to be weighted more than what it should. Then, he prints it on the price sticker of the weighted meat bag. He doesn’t respect the price label for what is being shown to the customers.

Yelp
Visited many butcher shops in the area and the are was not clean or did not have what I needed. Risaralda butcher shop had a good clean look and had the next best pork meat I was looking for. I was happy I drove to it. The prices were not too expensive and the meat once cooked came out very good. The service was fast once you take a number, the line moved quickly.

Yelp
Very busy, family owned, establishment featuring an excellent butcher shop with Quality Meats & Poultry; hard to find products from Latin America and offering Amazing, friendly, Top-Shelf Customer Service. I come all the way from Lake Success, NY just to shop here. I love shopping here!!! Please tell the lovely folks at Carniceria La Risaralda that Señor Grande Rojo sent you....

Yelp
My parents have been coming here since before i was born (23+ Years) it is a family owned business that has great quality meats and for great prices. They also carry other colombian goodies that we just love. They have great service and friendly butchers.
If you plan on coming here you might have a little trouble finding parking but other than that i strongly recommend

Yelp
My parents have been taking me to this butcher shop for years. They are so nice and helpful. They cut the meat just like you ask, give advice if you need it, quality is great as are prices. I also love all the other Colombian goodies in the food aisles. It's a mini supermarket with food you get when you visit South America.
Lastly, my mom became mute several years ago because of cancer and she comes in with what she needs on a piece of paper and kind of gestures with other stuff and the butchers behind the counter are super attentive and courteous with her. It melts my heart.

Yelp
I grew up in Jackson Heights and my mom use to send me here all the time. I bought a house a few years ago and moved out to Long Island. Ever since I bought the house I found myself entertaining and having barbecues in my back yard.
I needed to find a good inexpensive butcher shop to purchase my meats for said occasions. One thing I love to put on the grill are T-bone steaks. In most supermarkets T-bones are expensive and so I decided to visit this old neighborhood butcher shop. Let me tell you, what a bargain! At $6.50 a pound for T-bone, you can't beat that.
I visited another butcher shop just to compare, and the other shop was quoting me $14 a pound. Needless to say I stuck to this butcher shop. I have to say my 1 inch thick cuts of T-bone come out great. For the past couple of summers, whenever I'm going to barbecue, I find myself driving to queens to visit this place.
I gave it three stars because parking is terrible. I find myself driving around the block a few times before I find a spot. Service is okay. But you can't beat the prices.

Yelp
This place sells very low-quality chicken leg quarters. They are full of fat. Even the meat under the skin is streaked with fat. I like some fat for flavor and caramelization but this fat was out of control. But worst of all, the meat had a mealy texture and was not firm. Would not return. The mass-produced Perdue chicken at Stop 'n Shop is way better. My photos show the underside of the fully cooked chicken and you can see how much fat there is.

Yelp
Do not try to call this place. They are not helpful. As soon as I spoke English they hung up on me instead of helping me out and all I wanted to confirm was the time they close.

Yelp
I always find the Freshest Meats. They are cut to our specifications. Friendly, Family style environment.. We always get the different types of meats resembling our tradition customs. Good old fashion Hispanic Butcher.
