The best carnitas North of the Mexican border. If you love carnitas made like if you in Michoacan Mexico then this is a must. They specialize in carnitas plus, they also have aguas frescas.but, they only make pineapple or cucumber both are delicious 😋🤤 for sure Everytime I'm in San Antonio I will pick up a pound half of just meat,half with skin and a pound of chicarones 😉👍😋❤️😁 you have to come by and taste them for your self. Trust me you will them. Also ast for pickled onions ☺️😋😉

I've been there only once, but next time I'm in town for sure I'll stop by. The chicharron is amazing (I think it's made of pork belly). And the staff is extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

Been here a bunch of times, it's really delicious and a value for the price. The salsas are amazing! Wish they were open longer tho but other than that it's so good!

These are seriously my favorite carnitas in San Antonio. It's a small place and kind of hidden, but the carnitas are the best.

The carnitas tacos are full of flavor! Take note- This establishment is found in the Shell station. They do have tables and chairs to sit and eat.

Make sure you call ahead because the hours posted do not mean they will be open. They were closed and wiping down at 2:45 on a Thursday.

So the location is inside a gas station, but don't let that deter you from going in! It's really good! We got a family meal to go. It came with mix carnitas, tortillas, limon, salsitas, cilantro, onion, the works! Great customer service and looked nice and clean!

I promise if you try this place one good time you will be absolutely hooked! It is located in the shell gas station, so be prepared for that. The meat is super tender, and the mixed is the best way to go for the type. The owners are very gracious and will explain everything you need to know. It's a solid amount of food too, so you will get your moneys worth. This hidden gem is bomb!

Well, the website reads open on Mondays at 9am. I arrived at 8:45am and waited. Shortly thereafter, someone arrived about 8:55am. At 9:08am, I walked into the Shell convenience store and approached the Carnitas El Güero counter and waited. The young lady finally came to the counter and said the food would not be ready until 10:30am. Just wondering what the 9:00am represents.... I would've probably given 5 stars had I had the pleasure of tasting the food however, I am not going to wait until 10:30am. Maybe the employees should arrive at 8:30am or possibly change the opening time to when the food will be ready? Also, this Monday did happen to be Juneteenth so maybe they have holiday hours? Who knows...maybe next time. I'm headed back to Austin.

Got the half pound combo yesterday. Best carnitas I've had. Unlike buying carnitas at a Molino. Where they fry up a Boston butt. They cook several cuts which you can pick. The pickled onions and salsas were delicious with the carnitas. The fried taco was ok. The pork in the taco was a little dry for my taste. Overall excellent place to get you carnitas fix. I'll be going back real soon.

Carnitas were not fullly cooked. Will not be going back. The servers where nice.provided great. Service.But meat was not fully cooked .still white not golden.

Ya ha comido en el estación de San Antonio y Austin prefiero el de Austin porque siempre tienen el puesto lleno de comida. Es la tercera vez que vengo al de San Antonio y me queda retirado y no triaban la comida lista la segunda vez compré la última libra de carnitas cueritos y buche mixtas por que alguien se había llevado todo la primera vez estaba cerrado. Three strikes and Im out. Aunque esté buena la comida no vuelvo recomiendo qué hablen al número de teléfono que tienen a ver si le contestan. Yo nunca he tenido suerte que me contesten.

There are no real posted hours for this store. I have been to this location on more than a few times only to find that they are not open for business. The carnitas when I have been able to get them are great and a good value. Today 2/13/2023 I arrived after 11:15am and there was no one at the business at all. So check ahead of time and call before you go.

Tried this place today after hearing about it for a while. Ordered the half pound but easily could have gone for a full pound. Was not disappointed. Comes with corn tortillas, spicy onions, cilantro, and a salsa roja and a verde. The verde packs some heat. Carnitas meat was juicy and moist. Will definitely go back again for my carnitas fix and if it's consistent in quality I'll bump it up to five stars. The personal (half pound carnitas) came out to about $13

This is the real deal carnitas. Had the Combo special and will be back for a full pound tomorrow :)
