I order carnitas here for third time I spend over $70. I ask for good meat and I get puro buche when I order I ask please don't give me the buche. Raza trucha not asking for nothing for free only want what I pay for. Before you walk out the store check what u order and what they give u.

I love this place, me and my family are always eating here. I had chilaquiles, pozole, bistec ranchero. But the Carnitas and Menudo are my faves.

My wife and I literally drove by Carnitas Quiroga on our way to have breakfast at another restaurant. We quickly did a U-turn and decided to give this restaurant a try. I am glad we did. Our breakfast was huge and delicious and best of all they have nata that my wife is crazy for. Food was great, service was excellent and prices were more or less what we expected. We will be back when in the area.

Carnitas Quiroga is pure fire! Let me paint the scene: I was on a phone call when they handed me a sample of their seasoned pork. The taste was so incredible, I hung up immediately and completely forgot what I was doing. Their pork, wrapped in a simple corn tortilla, needs nothing else. It’s that good. Hands down, probably the best bite I've ever had. Highly recommended!

I ordered the chicken rolled tacos which is one of my go to items off the menu. Gives homemade vibes unlike most taco shops around San Diego. I've ordered numerous things off the menu and they are all delicious!! From carnitas by the pound to the chilaquiles or menudo! I would highly recommend you give this spot a try! Restaurant is clean and the service makes you feel right at home!!

This place is ONLY good when the owner is here. Otherwise food is undercooked or cold. Service is HORRIBLE when the owner is not here I can’t stress this enough. The owner is the nicest most attentive person and she always makes everything a1. Waitress are rude to you when owner is not here. Have attitude and even roll there eyes and ignore you when trying to order. If the owner could reach out to me that would be amazing. I can see the downfall of this business if this continues.

The service and food were amazing! They brought us some samples of their carnitas tacos while we waited for our food. I got the California burrito, and it was very very good. I eat California burritos often, and this was one of the best I've ever had.

This place has great food and big portions! I got a burrito and it was pretty good. They were not as generous with the shrimp tho. They were friendly and welcoming compared to other burrito places tbh. It's a casual spot that opens early if you need to eat before work or have a chill breakfast. I will come back to try the other menu items and maybe get a jaimaica next time. They also sell meany by pound!

Just had a late lunch here after reading a review in AAA's Westways magazine. I had the 2 tostadas plate and chose their signature carnitas and the adobada. My wife had a chicharrones taco, and a birria taco. Everything was delicious! The meat was juicy, and the tostados were crisp and tasted like they were freshly fried. They have a condiments/salsa bar, so we helped ourselves to the traditional cilantro and diced onions. They also had a container with pickled spicy carrots, jalapeños, onions, and potatoes. And another with a spicy chili oil reminiscent of a Chinese chili crunch. We spoke with a pleasant, friendly woman who is the owner. She told us that they make all their own food... using her mother's recipes. I wish we lived closer, but we'll be back when we're in the area.

I found a gem for Carnitas! Located on Highland Ave in National City. The name carries the city known for the best Carnitas in Michoacán Mexico, and they did not disappoint! I ordered the 1lb of carnitas which came with beans, rice, 10 tortillas, chopped cilantro, onions and escabeche (pickled carrots and jalapeños). EVERYTHING was full of flavor and fresh. The carnitas were soft and moist just the way they should be. We were greeted and attended by a welcoming lady, Deneri, manager of the restaurant. She was very polite and attentive to us. After our meal, she recommended a dessert, the Conchas with "nata." A sweet bread with a creamy milk spread, served warm. A must try! You can eat in or have your order to go. Limited parking. Después de nuestra comida, nos recomendó un postre, las Conchas con "nata". Un pan dulce con una crema de leche cremosa, servido caliente. ¡Una prueba obligada! What a delicious spot I stumbled in National City for lunch yesterday! The carnitas here are amazing and some of the best I've had. The smell when you walk in is incredible coming from the kitchen and they make everything for you at the counter. The staff here were friendly and quick when I ate here. I got horchata for my drink and it was so good and rich. One of the best I've had and they seemingly make it fresh every day. The same goes for their food and their tacos here are packed with meat and is about 2 of your regular street-style tacos. The salsas here are hot and are flavorful. The carnitas here stand out a lot for me and are so flavorful and they are not dry at all and get an easy 5/5 for me. The birria taco I had was also good with plenty of flavor coming from the consome they were in and get a 4/5 from me. This will be a go to spot for me in future when I'm back in the area and highly recommend coming here if you want some of the best carnitas in the San Diego area!

My partner and I went here for breakfast. The employees here were all very friendly and our waitress went over the menu with us. They even gave us two carnita tacos to try out. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sofritas and my partner ordered a Surf N Turf. One burrito was more than enough for both of us. The burritos were great and packed with flavor. We plan to come back here to try more from their menu.

We were heading home and my parents were hungry we found this place down highland because my parents wanted menudo but don Vicente Menuderia was busy. Each dish we ordered was delicious and fulfilling. Highly recommended if you are in the area. We left satisfied and glad we gave this place a try. It is small inside but they have some seating outside also. I will definitely come back here again I

I am completely blown away with this place!!!! It had high ratings but it's the best Mexican food in San Diego as far as I am concerned. First if you are new here you receive a free simple taco as it states on yelp. I didn't have to say anything as I was served this right away. Impressed with the carnitas taco and now I'm really excited for my California burrito. I added beans and hot sauce inside my burrito. It comes out and it's huge but OMG the taste is unbelievable!!!! It's a small place that's simple and clean. There is a case in the front by the cashier that has a huge piece of meat in it. The staff is very nice and accommodating. You have to try this place!!!

Best carnitas I have ever hard. I went on Thanksgiving day, so glad they were opened. I got the carnitas plate. It was the best thing I've had in a long long time. So flavorful with all the right bits and parts. Carmalized but not burnt. Soooo good.

For being a last minute order. Carnitas Quiroga made it happen so my husband bought me an order of Sopes. Let me tell you sopes were so delicious. I give them a score 10/10

The tacos were so delicious and the refried beans too I love there chicharones I will recomend this to all carnitas lovers

Just discovered a new TACO spot! Stopped by the market to work and ended up with a FREE taco from a lovely lady. The carnitas was incredible, so good I ordered two more. I had their habanero hot sauce on top!! Perfection! Highly recommend checking it out!

Truly five star service What can i say about this - one of my favorite breakfasts... if you want a Mexican style - the best chilaquiles ever- at least that I've tried on both sides of the border - decent coffee. Drinkable - better than Starbucks but not amazing - kid got fluffy diner system pancakes, that put a ND diner to shame - amazing service

Carnitas Quiroja is a new taco shop in National City and I'm so glad to have dined here. They had a set up going outside for takeout orders. Upon arrival we were handed a carnitas taco that was packed with meat and was warm in between the tortilla. This already made us even more excited about the place! The menu is extensive and portions are big. I settled on chilaquiles with fried eggs and carnitas as the protein. They do ask if you like the meat mixed with fat, or if you like it with more of the lean meat. I really appreciate this as you can control what types of meat you're getting. Chilaquiles (4.5/5): Thick chips make it crunchy even under all the sauce. The red sauce is vibrant and not spicy but really went well with the eggs. My eggs were a little overcooked but all was well. I really liked the refried beans as they were packed with flavor. Birria Taco (3/5) Adobada Taco (4/5) Carnitas Taco (5/5) There are two signature sauces they hand to the table which are great! I would have asked for limes for the tacos but will ask next time. The service from the ladies was very nice and just overall fantastic!

The carnitas were really good as usual! The carne asada torta was delicious and so were the quesabirria tacos. Everything came out so quickly and fresh! The service was very good and quick.

The carnitas were good but cold. I ordered half a pound I was here for lunch time and they came cold the waitress gave the cilantro and onion when I had finished all the carnitas. Since I asked for no rise she assumed no beans . Over all the flavor was good . Maybe I would give them a second chance.

The food was amazing and the service was great and helpful. The ambiance was okay but the food was delicious.

I placed the order for pick up through the phone which was easy. I asked for the burrito to have adobada meat added and was informed that there'd be an extra charge (price of a taco) which I was ok with. The service was quick and the employee was nice. The food was authentically Mexican (I'm Mexican) and delicious! The enchiladas and beans tasted homemade. The burrito was delicious too. Moist and tasty. The pictures don't make justice to how good the food was. I will order from them again.

Wish I had pics to share but my hunger would not allow it and by the time I remembered to take pics it was too late LOL so therefore you will get all the details! I ordered one pound of carnitas (surtido) which means you get different cuts of carnitas including Buche (stomach), Cueritos (skin), Maciza (lean meat), and I think they might have added costilla (rib) but don't quote me on that. If you aren't that adventurous with your carnitas I'd recommend you just get Maciza. The order of carnitas comes with a small side of rice and beans that could be shared with one other person but if you are a heavy eater you might want to get an additional side of rice an beans. I loved that their beans were frijoles Puerco which means they add chorizo to them along with sausage. I also ordered a side of guacamole that was generously served, a bag of tortilla chips, and an agua de Jamaica that was very refreshing. My total was $36 which I think was very reasonable. The inside of the restaurant was nice and very clean. The cashier was extremely nice. Would I come again? Definitely. Everything was a 10/10. Go check them out! You can thank me laters.

Love this place... we have been coming in since they opened and food never disappoints. Good prices, good food, nice staff ana love the complimentary taquito sample. My boyfriend is picky with carnitas so since we keep coming here he must really like them

To start, these are some of the best carnitas, if not the best carnitas in San Diego. To start, they always receive you with a courtesy taco. Today, I decided to go for the chilaquiles with carnitas they had to be green, and these were a little spicier ones, which they were right on point. The service is amazing. The ladies are always on top of everything, bringing customer service to a whole new level. Hands down highly recommended the place is not to big but the service, environment and the food, as big as it gets.

Being from Michoacan, i will say the food its an amazing representation of the local Michoacan cusine, it's really tasty. The service was very kind, warm, fast and the decoration is very illustrative of the culture of that place. Siendo de Michoacán les puedo decir que la comida es tan buena como si estuvieras comiendo de un cazo en Quiroga, delicioso. El servicio es muy amable, cálido, rápido y la decoración me hizo sentir como en casa.

First of all as a San Diego native, I'm a snob when it comes to authentic Mexican food. While I normally don't get to eat quality carnitas on a regular basis, that's now about to change. The flavors and the seasoning in the Chilaquiles plate blew me away from the first bite. I haven't had Mexican food this flavorful in years and I've eaten EVERYWHERE. Even the service was personal - the owner took time out to check in with us and it turns out she's a native to Michoacán (famous for their carnitas). I'm really surprised more foodies don't know about this place. It probably has something to do with their signage. Highly recommend .

I rarely come to National City but I happened to stumble upon this place the other day. I am so glad I did. I just wanted a snack so I ordered an adobado taco and the rolled tacos with carnitas. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free carnitas taco after I ordered. The tortilla was really soft, and the meat was flavorful. They have a nice salsa bar which includes some different salsas, including something that was like a salsa macha. It's a little bit spicy but tasty. The adobada taco was flavorful and filling. The rolled tacos were also very satisfying. The customer service was friendly. I felt like I was visiting a family home. I also liked the botanical wall decor. The restaurant was also very clean. If I'm in the area again I will definitely try some more dishes!

These are fantastic street tacos. Absolutely stuffed full of meat with lovely rich flavor. Simple, diner like atmosphere. Friendly service.

Came here based on many 5-star reviews and we weren't disappointed! It's reasonably priced, the service was wonderful and best of all, the food was delicious. I'm going back as soon as I can!

CARNITAS QUIROGA IS 5 STARS! the carnitas are my favorite, so crunchy and juicy! The staff are like family and able to give me sample of taco and chicharron! I will always go here and recommend the ambiance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is amazing and plenty of options, tables and delicious desserts too!

My go to place for burritos! I love their breakfast burritos with chorizo. The carnitas are also very fresh and they make it in front of you. They also give you a taco for waiting. The Horchata is also delicious! Must get in the morning when fresh! Had to stop going for a bit cause my jeans got tight

First time eating here, and I'm glad we had some extra time in the morning. The reviews definitely played a big roll in deciding to stop in. Had the chilaquiles with carnitas and topped with red sauce and an egg, amazing! We were also greeted with a fresh carnitas taco while we were ordering. Needless to say, they have a repeat customer!

The tacos were delicious. Being it was my first time they give you a sample taco to try the meat and that was so flavorful. I ordered the lb of carnitas To wash our food down I ordered a horchata I wasn't impressed with my drink but not the end of the world. The meat was so good I could not stop eating lol I felt like that little piggy on the wall haha jk but for real the tacos were so good. If you like carnitas I say give it a shot.

I've been to Quiroga and I must admit that these carnitas are the closest I've tasted to those in Quiroga , Michoacán .... Carnitas here aren't salty nor just a bunch of fat ... perfect in every way . If you are looking for something good and don't want to wait in line for 30 minutes for tacos , come here ! Riquísimo.

Delicious food! Ordered 4 carnitas burritos for the team! Wow, it reminded me of the carnitas I used to eat at the mercado in Tijuana many years ago! It's super tasty, and the service was great. The girl at the counter had a very friendly attitude and was happy to be there! Definitely recommend it to all! Hopefully, they continue making good tasting food! Thank you! Best carnitas I've ever tried. Service is fast and staff is friendly. Restaurant is small with only a few tables . I highly recommend the food here. They do have other Mexican dishes besides carnitas
