Fantastic Authentic Italian restaurant with great cuisine and amazing service. Up front it’s a traditional pizza spot and in the back is a 16 seat bar with TV’s and also a huge dining room. The chicken Francese and parm are fantastic. Also the clams casino and baked little neck clams. Mozzarella Sticks are homemade and the best around. Try the chicken roll In the front !

I had the opportunity to be at their private room. We had a beautiful wedding, the pastor was able to get them married at the location. Everyone was extremely helpful. The food was delicious the waitress were very accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend their private room it was very affordable and the food and services was extraordinary. #goodfood #greatservice #partyroom #PortJeffersonstation #pjs

Google
Service was awesome, cannot say enough about Sue, who accommodated us even when we moved out of her very noisy section. Food was good, drinks too. Alot going on it was Friday night but kids dancing on seats and tables with napkins on their heads did not make a romantic, desirable atmosphere. Appreciate the hostess and again Sue and all the amazing staff for all they did to set us up right.

My food was cold, and the poor waitress was scatter brained. This was likely due to a lack of waitstaff. There were more people cleaning plates and standing around. It really wasn't that crowded to warrant that. Price vs. the meal... ehh

Tonight I took the kids to one of our newer partners over in Port Jeff station. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the kids behind the counter. The place is immaculate and so well lit. We originally went for pizza but decided to dine in. The food was fantastic Gabby had chicken marsala which came with three very large chicken cutlets. She said the food was delicious. It came with a side of pasta and she got the same sauce. Kenny had chicken parm that he loaded up with red pepper flakes. I don't know how this kid's esophagus survives but he loves the spicy food. He said the chicken was tender and the sauce was really good. I got penny vodka. It was a giant bowl and had such a great sauce. I was so full I only ate about half of it. The waiter was great and I even got to meet the owner. He is such a nice guy and was a pleasure to talk to. If you're in the area definitely check it out because the food is worth it and the discount was so easy to apply. On the way out we marveled it all the desserts we wished we would have eaten but we were too full to eat it. I can't wait to go back.

This review is based on a take out order on January 24, 2025 We ordered Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala, a chicken roll, a rice ball, a slice of pizza and a couple of garlic rolls. All the food was cold - took us less than 5 minutes to get home. The chicken parm and almost no sauce and cheese. The marsala was swimming in a bath of warm liquid that didn't resemble or taste like marsala sauce. The chicken was chewy, seemed like it was boiled in the liquid. The chicken roll was dried out and tasted terrible. The rice ball was cold and didn't have much taste. The sicilian slice and the side salad were the only edible things. $86 for all of this. Lucky we had a gift card. I will NEVER order from this overpriced place again. Sad - it used to be good when then were smaller. Now that they have expanded for a 4th time, the quality is definitely lacking!

Came here a few nights ago for pasta night & i have to say everything was delicious! I always order for pick up & the food is very consistent, but dining in is just so much better! Prices are good for the amount of food you get. Our waiter was very nice & even though he had many tables he took our order & helped us very quickly. The restaurant is beautiful & they also offer party’s & catering. I highly recommend for pick up & dine in!

Food is always amazing! Servers are very nice, food has big portions, very clean! They are great for parties or special events. Would definitely recommend as one of my favorite Italian restaurants on the island!!

Yelp
The eatery is divided into three sections: Pizzeria, restaurant, private dinning area. The decore is lovely and the tables are not close together. We arrived at around 3:00 PM and as soon as we entered we were seated. While the waiter was courteous and quick to serve, everyone in our party felt rushed. It appeared to the table that the waiter wanted us to eat and leave. Given the time of day and the empty room, there was no reason for this. Notwithstanding this, our meals were excellent. We ordered fried calamari and an octopus dish as appetizers. Both were very tasty. I ordered a personal margherita, it was delicious. Beware, the sauce was made with chunky tomatoes, not the regular pizza marinara. For dessert, I ordered a decaf cappuccino and a slice of chocolate fudge cake. The cake was DELICIOUS, the cappuccino not so much. The Takeaways: 1. Excellent parking 2. Service did not come with a smile. 3. At 3:00 PM on a Thursday, no reservations needed. 4. Portion size to price was good. Although, I found it a bit costly for pre- dinner time. 5. Avoid the decaf cappuccino. Final thoughts: Great food, a bit pricy, but worth it.

Yelp
The pizza may have carried them through generations, but today I ordered the shrimp scampi, it was terrible The pasta was not much better, It tasted like it was in a dish of warm water , and a few slices of garlic , not much flavor!!!!!! I remember when scampi was loaded with oil , garlic cloves and baked in the oven so it was nice and crispy or I should say until it was a taste to Perfection. So once again do yourself a favor, do not order the shrimp scampi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
My husband brought me here for a special dinner, as he had fond memories of this restaurant growing up, but this place obviously has gone majorly downhill in recent years. Service was atrocious. We didn't meet our server for quite some time after barely being acknowledged by the hostess who seated us. That should have been our sign to leave right then and there. I asked our server to bring a drink menu and watched as she sat at the bar chatting with friends for 10+ minutes before receiving it. This went on for the rest of the night as anytime we had an issue, needed anything, or were waiting on a simple request, she was nowhere to be found for long periods of time. My food came out well before my husband's, without a word from the food runner and our waitress did not come over to make sure we got our food or make sure it was acceptable. My manicotti was extremely bland and the marinara sauce was akin to watered-down ragu sauce. At their prices, I was highly disappointed with the quality of the food. Overall, this experience was a huge let down on what was supposed to be a nice night. We will not be back and we can no longer recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Yelp
Carnival is great for a sit down lunch. On a cold winters day their pasta fagioli hits the spot. The bowl is HUGE. Pair it with some garlic bread or knots and a ton of Parmesan cheese and you are good to go.

Eric J.

Yelp
Went during the week and discovered they have a price fixe. The food and service were very good. The tomato and mozzarella app along with the mussels app were tasty. The filet mignon with red peppers was correctly cooked. The ambiance is very nice and comfortable. My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
Carnival has the biggest garlic knots I've ever seen! They were the size of my hand and not too garlicky! Their classic cheese slice is a very solid option. We also tried their chicken caprese sandwich which was amazing. Blackened chicken, mozzarella, basil, and a garlic spread on a homemade roll. Everyone at the counter was super nice and helpful too!

Yelp
This weekend we decided to try Carnival restaurant and pizzeria because I had a giftcard there! I am so glad the gift card pushed me to try them because we had an awesome dinner there. When we sat down they gave us an amazing bread basket with warm fresh bread. (There was also a nice assortment in there so it wasn't just your everyday bread basket) I can kind of tell based on a bread basket alone what kind of experience the meal is going to be so I was really excited when it was a good one. We started out with mozz sticks because I heard they had really amazing home made mozz sticks and they lived up to the hype. My husband said they were the best he's ever had. Then we each decided to get a francese dish. He got shrimp and I got chicken. I let the waiter know that I have a shellfish allergy and he made sure they cooked our dishes seperately. With both meals we opted for a side of penne in the francese sauce. I find that I never really know what I'm going to get when I order chicken at a restaurant. Will it be rubbery? Will the sauce be good? (Nothing turns me off to eating at a restaurant faster than if the chicken is rubbery LOL) you all know what I'm talking about! Luckily the chicken was perfect and the sauce was INCREDIBLE!!! We both agreed we will definitely go back. Service, food and ambiance were all wonderful! And to make it even better you can walk off your meal a bit at homegoods after.

Yelp
Absolutely will NEVER eat there again. I have had mixed results ordering from them in the past. Occasionally quite good, but more often than not substandard. I took chance, was shopping in the area. Well tonight is the last time ever. I was given a meatball hero with 6 tiny grey meatballs. I mean about 1oz each. The taste was horrid. I have had the misfortune of eating premade meatballs in the past, and that is exactly what these were!!! Premade meatballs. Served on Long Island where every street corner has a pizzeria on it! The nerve to serve that! YUCK!! 6 tiny grey premade meatballs. I threw it out and am so disgusted I don't even care to speak to them. I am done.

Yelp
Can't believe the renovations here. This place has quadrupled in size since I was a kid. All for the best. They have a $26.50 dinner option on Mondays and Wednesdays that is a steal. They include so many entree options with pasta fagolia which is a meal in itself, or a huuuge salad, glass of wine, coffee and dessert. Portion sizes are big too. These guys do it right by their patrons that have been coming back year after year. The sauce is light with a rich tomato flavor, pasta is al dente. I was upset they were out of the lasagna which is other worldly at their competition, but wanted to try carnival's, so I'll be back. In the meantime, order from the regular menu the eggplant (skin on) with sauce, no cheese but sublime. Full bar, good service, the son Joe manages and he visits tables and talks up his customers. Really nice guy.

Yelp
Classic restaurant with pizza in front and restaurant in the rear. Large portions of southern Italian cuisine. Waiters are courteous and attentive. Try the veal

Yelp
Carnival pizza has been our go to pizza spot for 30+ years. The pizza is pretty good, we usually have a carry out pizza that's always a crowd pleaser. My wife met her girlfriend here to catch up, on Monday nights that have a 3 course dinner. Sole Oreganata with salad and dessert for $24.95 is a steal!

Yelp
We come to Carnival about once a month. We love the Zuppa Di Pesce. The seafood is always spot on. Very fresh We typically get the fried zucchini and it's great. This time we ordered a special they had. 2 stuffed mushrooms, 2 baked clams and 2 shrimp oregano. They were excellent. Carnival is always dependable for a great meal

Yelp
We always eat at Carnival and are never disappointed. Yesterday my husband and I got married and had a luncheon there for 25 guests. To a person everyone raved about the food, both quality and taste. Mind you my husbands family is Italian so this was huge. The service was impeccable. I cant thank the staff at Carnival enough for making this day go so smoothly. We took the private room and it was the perfect space. I would recommend Carnival for any occasion with an intimate group.

Luke C.

Yelp
Food and service is great. Owner Nick, not so much. From going through dumpsters looking for recipes from competition, to calling us "cheap" to telling us to leave when we're at the bar "too long". Other than that, everything about this place is fantastic. Hang up them cleats Nicky boy.

C K.

Yelp
I give a place a few strikes before posting a horrible review.... Sorry Carnival I am done! Raw pizza dough is absolutely unacceptable!! You can make people very sick from that. Week prior, raw cold center in a baked pasta dish. The attitude received is disgusting! Raw food, means stfu! Apologize! And retire the dish immediately! Nick has obviously given up, or his kids just don't know the business either way, im gone. Do not eat there!! Or eat at your own risk!
google avatar

Ed V.

Yelp
Food is good but a bit pricey. $4 for a slice I guess is the standard now with inflation. Either way if you're looking for a local pizzeria in port Jeff, stop by. You won't be disappointed.

John M.

Yelp
If it's a night out with the family or just the Wife, or just grabbing a few pies we absolutely love it. Always great service and staff. Food and drinks are always perfect. Definitely a staple in the community.

Yelp
Tonight was the first time at Carnival in years and won't be going back for years. Great wait staff. Bread was very bready and not crusty. Mussels in red sauce were tasty. Sauce out of this world. The eggplant app in red sauce also delish. The veal sorrentino was tasteless as was the pasta with the same sauce - and very lite sauce as well. The chocolate cake was a nice portion and tasty. All in all, very disappointing.

Faith S.

Yelp
It took an hour and a half to get our food. The gluten free personal pie came out 35 minutes before the three other pasta dishes. One of the pasta dishes came out luke warm while the others were steaming hot. The waiter honestly seemed annoyed when we mentioned the issues. The gluten free pie is usually good so that's why we come back. At least our waiter brought us napkins, many, many times.

Yelp
I have not taking any pictures in this restaurant. But then pizza here is my personal top 5 and I've had pizza from the city and other states this to me is top 5. Service is always good here people always have a smile aka you how you doing I enjoy walking into restaurants with these type of staff. Ambiance is always chill people talking and enjoying their food

Brett M.

Yelp
Great food and amazing service but extremely expensive. It's about twenty dollars a dish which I think is a bit high.

Thomas L.

Yelp
Great pizza. We love their Carnival seafood special pasta dish. Their calamari is amazing but make sure you eat that in the store. It has a fast casual up front and that's where we always eat at. There is a full service restaurant in the back that looks busy all the time. The front of the house is very friendly and efficient in taking orders

Barbara Ann C.

Yelp
A little pricy and were out of slt of thingd i tried to order food as good thougj waitress responded very vquickly amd try rto adk you how epveprythin wasp im on the middle of cheewing thats why she got a $20 tp pn a & 61order fot two people too exspensoveoo

Yelp
Food is always delicious. They give you big portions. You will be going home with a doggie bag.

Yelp
I ordered a calzone, and it arrived without being heated. I will no longer be ordering from this place.

Yelp
I've never been disappointed by anything I've eaten here... one of my favorite spots for a solid Italian meal.

Archer N.

Yelp
Ordered a bunch of pizzas and knots for the staff at St Charles who are taking care of a family member of mine. Wanted to treat them for Mother's Day. The nurses told me the food was amazing. The staff at Carninal went above and beyond by providing cups plates and utensils as those aren't available at the hospital. I believe they forgot to charge me for sodas and in my rush I forgot to leave a tip on my order. I will have to go back and bless the staff with a gift and take care of the sodas. Thank you Carnival for an amazing lunch for the nurses who work day and night for those in need!!

Yelp
We were in the area and got take out from here. The vodka sauce was pretty good. Huge portion. It was only take out so I can't say much else. It was good though. I'd eat here again.

Pat S.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch with our dear friends, that's is their new place to go. We enjoyed the food, service was good, the best was the bread. I give it a 3 star because I feel prices are high for a lunch special. $18.99 for eggplant parm with small amount of pasta and a salad of of only lettuce, 3 little tomatoes one piece of cucumber and a small amount of shredded carrots to me does not qualify as a special. Would I go again? don't know.

Yelp
Really delicious Italian food with a huge menu (something for every palate). My family and I often order take out from here and our orders are always 100% accurate, packed carefully and ready on time. The portions for both take out and eating in the restaurant are huge. So bring your appetite and expect to have some leftovers, too. Eating in has become less frequent during and post-covid for us, but sometimes we still go for dinner because the vibes are just great. It's a classic Long Island, big Italian family owned place with all of the boisterous joy, laughter and conversations you would imagine. Their servers are great too! But, it's the whole atomosphere that really makes it fun. You can't really go wrong ordering anything on this menu. Over the years either myself or someone in my family has tried pretty much all of it. My family particuarly loves their baby eggplant from the appetizer menu and their fish dishes. I am partial to their penne a la vodka, meatballs, and pasta fagoili (sorry, spelling) soup. Another surprisingly delicious item is their chicken la valle soup.....it's this epic next level chicken noodle soup. Topped lots with their grated parm, it's soul food and very soothing. Also, don't sleep on their desserts. Decadent and delicious.

Sonora E.

Yelp
Great food !! A little pricey but it's quality! Pizza is good but $5 overpriced ! The dinners there are fantastic! Big plates and truly delicious !

Eileen K.

Yelp
This place is right around the corner from me. I've eaten there a few times and the food was sub par but I decided to give them one more chance. I regret that I did. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. How hard is that to make? Evidently too hard for them. First - the sauce was bland. Tasted like they opened a can of tomato sauce and poured it on top of the pasta. Second - the pasta was in clumps. Like they put it in the pot to cook it and no one stirred it. Third - the meatballs, or should I say the bread balls, were the worst I've ever tasted. There was so little meat in them that I couldn't even taste it. Disgusting. I will not be eating there ever again. They are to Italian food what Taco Bell is to Mexican food.

Yelp
Great food excellent service and a nice Ambiance had reunion party there everyone had a great time and want to do it again next year

Yelp
Food was gross. Chicken Alfredo tasted bad and had a weird texture. Will not be ordering from again

Patricia D.

Yelp
If I could, I would eat at this restaurant every single day. Portions are huge and the meals are always delicious.

D Y.

Yelp
Our favorite spot for special occasions. Extensive menu, good with large tables, good beer and wine list. We come 2-3 times a year and always love it!!
google avatar

Yelp
wife and I decided to grab food while we were out to avoid spending a fortune using one of the apps. We ordered Eggplant Rolatin, Chicken Frances and a side of mozzarella sticks. 82$!!!! I understand prices have gone up but for nearly 100$??? Two small chicken cutlets and undercooked pasta and a so-so eggplant. The mozzarella sticks were very good but entirely too expensive. Lots of better options for half the price. Will NOT return!

Carol M.

Yelp
We decided to go for lunch on a Saturday. They have lunch specials Monday thru Saturday. The waiter gave us the dinner menu and failed to give the lunch menu. I haven't been to the restaurant and wasn't sure if the had a lunch menu. After we were done eating, I heard the waiter ask the busboy to give a lunch menu to the table next to us. I don't like to get ripped off and this waiter not giving the lunch menu was being deceptive. I won't be going back to this restaurant.
google avatar

Cristie G.

Yelp
We've been here many times over the years. The service is always good and the food is really good as well. One of my all time favorites is the short ribs...they are a special sometimes and boy are they good. We try and make this a regular place on our rotation!

Jimmy P.

Yelp
I didn't want to write this review but I feel that I have to. I think I ate at Carnival for the first time 20 years ago. I do not like writing negative reviews nor do I review often, but I think we ordered from here for the last time. For the past couple years, maybe 3 the food quality has gone straight downhill, QC is nonexistent as prices continue to skyrocket. Yes inflation but still. Over the past couple years and today we have ordered the penne vodka and it has gotten so bad the last few times that it's almost comedy. Whoever is in the kitchen doesn't know what this dish is. The dish is marinara with a slap of vodka, cream to balance, shallot and prosciutto. What you get is cream and onions. This isn't once or twice. We forgive and forget but this is maybe the 7th time and it's time to say goodbye. Fettuccine Alfredo is problematic as well, just a broken butter and oil clumpy mess. The pizza has always been middle of the road but 27$ for a round pie half pepperoni is really rough for mid pizza. Like I've said, this isn't reactionary off of one meal like most do on here. This is multiple years with many orders and disappointments.

Yelp
30 years going to Carnival. First time back since Covid and mixed review. My linguine/white clam was its usual terrific feast. My wife had the worst lasagna we have ever seen. Layer upon layer of pasta slabs with nearly zero sauce nor meat in between. I took a bite just to check and it was sad indeed. So guess it depends on your entre mood and some luck.

Caroline C.

Yelp
Been going there for years. They have it all-dining, catering, and parties. Food and staff are terrific.

Yelp
5 stars for Bomb pizza. The staff was super accommodating and on top of everything. The pizza is out of this world; especially the Sicilian. We stop here every time we're even remotely close to the area. The crust is perfectly cooked, and the balance between ingredients, cheese, and sauce never disappoints. I've seen some negative reviews for the other dishes here. They're probably accurate. The fried calamari was "okay" and the wine is a bit pricey if you're not taking it to go. But...like..just order a pizza. The "to-go" wine prices are fantastic. I'd definitely grab a bottle of wine and a pie for takeout.

Peter B.

Yelp
Well if you live long enough you see and hear everything ... sad to say but this restaurant has gone down 2 notches... the veal was nothing special , actually fried too much yet raw in the middle ! The chef was sleeping on this , simple veal not good . Eggplant was too oily and just like a Re cooked poorly cooked dish. Now the word is out.. I heard and didn't believe and had to find out for my self! The shrimp parmigiana was oily and not up to any higher standards you'd get at this restaurant in the past. Very sad to say all this
google avatar

Yelp
The food is excellent! The service was excellent. So why not 5 stars? ... FOX News. There are giant flat screens over the bar with FOX news on. Politics and business should be left at the door. Sorry my Conservative friends but it really turned me off and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Madmit U.

Yelp
I got takeout from here recently. The eggplant Parmesan is one of the best I've ever had. The portion was large, the eggplant was perfectly breaded, not greasy, the right amount of cheese and the marinara sauce was excellent. My partner got the lasagna and a side of meatballs, both of which he said were excellent. We both got salads - they were excellent, huge and enough for a dinner on their own. The cheesy garlic bread was also excellent. Highly recommend the food here.

Yelp
I have been meaning to try this place out. I finally made some time and came by with my family. We didn't know that there were two different sides to the place..There are 2 dining rooms. One is for "take-out" style and the other side is a restaurant - with waiter services. We ended up on the take out side. We ordered: - vegetable pizza (not pictured because my mom started eating lol) - spaghetti with red clam sauce - 3 garlic bread/knots - calzone - cheese, chicken & mushrooms The person at the register helped us out since it was our first time there. She was helpful, friendly and fast. We sat and waited to hear our order yelled out and we just picked it up from the counter. Easy as that. All the food was very good. I'm glad to have found a good pizza spot. The only thing is that my calzone was good but some part of it were still cold. But I still liked it a lot. Next time I return, I'll go to the restaurant side with waiting service. :::UPDATE::: I ate on the restaurant side with waiting service. Everything was great! Food came out at a reasonable time, waitress and busboy was attentive and friendly. Food was great! - stuffed mushrooms - stuffed with homemade vegetable stuffing - lentil soup - with tubettini pasta, carrots, celery and onions - chicken parm - fettuccine alfredo - served in classic creamy alfredo cheese sauce - side of meatballs - two per order, served in traditional tomato sauce The dishes are a healthy portion, especially the soup! All good, we took what we couldn't finish home. I'd come back and try other things on the menu. I had a great experience that night. I will be coming back to try different things on the menu. :::edit::: I will be giving constructive feedback from this experience. We came by last night after the gym. We chose to sit down in the restaurant side to order things on that menu. We ordered: - stuffed mushrooms - mozarella & tomatos - chicken francese sauteed in lemon, white wine & butter sauce(special menu - topped with mozzarella and tomato) - spaghetti primavera - choice of wheat or regular spaghetti (I chose wheat) in garlic, olive oil with vegetables: eggplant, mushrooms, tomatoes This visit was a little disappointing. We were seated right away and thought we'd get the good quality we had gotten once before. As soon as we sat down, we were given water and a saucer with olive oil in it. I assumed we were supposed to get bread to dip it with...but that never came...so we just had dipping oil sitting on the table the entire night. So, that's #1. I didn't mind that so much when I saw the next thing that straight up changed my mood and my once 5 star review. I was about to drink the water and there was lipstick still on the rim. (I understand that when the glasses go in the dishwasher it's put into high temp pressurized steam or whatever). But there should be a protocol put into place to wipe down the silverware and glasses. I ended up going to the bar behind me and grabbed a straw and drank from my husband's glass. That's #2. You're probably wondering why I didn't ask for bread or for another glass: I didn't want to bother with the bread cuz less carbs? As for the glass, I had asked for another at another restaurant and it had more lipstick than the first glass. Like I said, restaurants just throw it in a dishwasher so it doesn't really "clean" anything. It just kills bacteria from the high temp, but doesn't remove tough debris. I didn't want a repeat of that. I just wanted to get my food, eat, then bounce. Lastly, I opted to get something healthier and something new. The spaghetti primavera was very bland as the juices from the veggies washed out any taste. I will give this place another try in hopes I'll have a better experience.

Yelp
Tonight was the absolute worst possible meal we have ever eaten from here. As we waited for curb side, 45 minutes after the half hour they told us, food and customers were flying out at rapid speed. And now we know why. Nothing was cooked!!! Shrimp scampi was raw, baked clams, raw. Seafood salad had more celery than seafood and was bland. Fettuccini al fredo - sticky, not sure is was fettuccini?? My husband said Chicken Carnival was "decent." I had the Spaghetti Primavera - a huge glob of spaghetti separated from the vegetables NO sauce. And to top it off, they put everything in a bag, not a box. So, on the way home, it fell over and leaked all over the car. Horrible experience!!!

Marie M.

Yelp
Pizza is paper thin and doughy. Very disappointing. The staff is unfriendly as well. Maybe just a greeting for you customers?
