Google
Absolutely adore Carol Hicks Bolton, the best in Central Texas! Beautifully curated, unique items = gorgeous! Highest recommendation.

Google
Really neat spot full of vintage/rustic decor. Most of the items are well above my pay grade but very inspiring nonetheless. Take a cup of coffee and wander about until you find something you can’t live without. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Google
Beautiful place full of antiques. The staff is attentive & helpful as needed. We felt like we were on a treasure hunt and enjoyed every moment walking through the warehouse. Many fine linens, old books, Catholic relics, paintings, antiques, wardrobes, tables, beds, antique sinks, art, unique finds, lighting, vases, benches, journals, and more. Check it out!

Google
Amazing number and variety of antiques here. Large amount of floor space. Seems fairly pricey but in a tourist town that's how it goes. Everything from furniture, religious items, taxidermy, to salesman samples of false teeth. Worth a walk around just to look and you may even learn something new

Google
Way over priced. Go yourself an you be the judge. Just because your in a tourist town, don't mean you have to triple the price of things. Sad how some want to abuse an take advantage of people from out of town. But that's just my opinion.

Google
Most unusual “antique” store we’ve ever seen. If you like traditional antique stores skip this one. They aren’t friendly either.

Nice place brought back many memories of my grandmother and mother. I can remember some things we had and to see them again was very nice.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorite antique shops in the Hill Country! Such a wonderful curated experience with so many treasures. The vibe is perfect and everyone there is so cool.

Yelp
If you love and appreciate unique furnishings/antiques and eclectic treasures... this is your place! Friendly Staff. Beautiful one of a kind showcase items. Luxurious Linens. Lovely Gifts (candles, soaps, treats for any gracious hostess ++) Definitely worth a stop! Ps - make sure to check out their cafe and shop next door..

Yelp
We walked in and a guy working here says 'I wanted to tell yall. We're having a sale!' My reply was 'Apparently you're not having a sale on masks!' Not ONE PERSON HERE was wearing a mask. Avoid.

Yelp
Listen this store has lots of shabby chic, but the prices are way out of sight. Yes the staff is friendly, but that does. It make up for them changing the prices right in front of you. Had a book that was clearly marked $8. The clerk went to the owner, stating that she thought it was $18, and guess what, they changed the price to $18. They had thousands of pieces of ephemera, most were reproductions and not old. All way overpriced. Enough said. I do not recommend this place.

Yelp
Beauty beyond the history. Carol has taken memories of the past and given them value and meaning for use in our lives now. She found me the perfect doctors bag from the 1800s. One of a kind. From glass wear to journals, even the newer made items have a nostalgic feel from the past. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the pieces. I try to stop as often as I can get to Fredericksburg, Texas, and always find a treasure to bring home with me.

Yelp
Beautiful pieces, but insanely over priced. This is a nice place for someone who has a whooole lot of money to drop... that wasn't us, not on this day. Either way, friendly staff, and this is a cool place to swing by if you like history.

Yelp
Love wondering through this store to see what new treasure I can discover every time I make my way to Fredricksburg. I always manage to find something I love and at the same time get decorating inspiration because everything is displayed and arranged so creatively. Don't miss the gorgeous linens in the annex!

Yelp
We stumbled into a gallery event and fashion show where the shabby chic design and country interior design of Carol Hicks Bolton was on showcase at her new Antiquities Laboratoire de Design. Even if you are not into a shabby chic esthetic there are some real gems to be found in their large show room. It's off the beaten path of main street in Fredericksburg, Texas and if just passing through worth a look. My only suggestion would be to have one section with a bit more "finished" pieces. We will go back when an event isn't taking place to really see all the pieces.

Yelp
Carol Hicks Bolton...There needs to be a new word to describe this Fredericksburg, Tx venue. The creativity on display in the store is just the tip of the iceberg. Carol and assoc. have designed and produced multiple lines of furniture, accessories, and fabrics. The antiquities in the store are certainly for sale but the relationship partnered into is more like having your own personal (world class) interior designer. That's very special!!! Carol has the creative ability to make YOUR ideas into YOUR reality. That's an art which is very rare.

Yelp
I have brought so many people to this breathtaking space. Such beautiful pieces in a relaxed and gorgeous space. It is an artist's dream. I love going to this shop, I have never seen anything done like this. It's like a mini trip back to France! Simply amazing! Everyone needs to go.

Yelp
This place is INCREDIBLE! If you love vintage, peeling paint, and items with character please make sure you stop here. The store is huge and you could easily spend an hour taking it all in, but it's very well organized and doesn't feel overwhelming. Items cost more than we can afford, but seem to be a great value for their age, condition and background (most are from Europe). Tim was so friendly and around to answer questions but didn't make us feel any pressure to buy. We thoroughly enjoyed this store. Make it one of your must-stops in Fredericksburg!

Yelp
Great place to go for Antiques, Furniture, old Books, and a plethora of shabby chic and vintage items to decorate your home or business. Just a bit off Main Street but well worth the extra few steps.

Yelp
I was so happy to find that the Boltons are still in FBurg!! When I was last in town before xmas, their shop had "closing" signs and "clearance" signs, and I was ridiculously sad. But no, they just moved to a fabulous new space! A big, open, airy warehouse that is very well lit and makes it so much easier to see the treasures. CHB Antiques is a hard place to describe-antique furniture, museum pieces, religious artifacts, taxidermy, epherma. A place for both hardcore antiques shoppers and those of us who just cherish the strange and beautiful. You never know what you will see or find, or what will end up going home with you. Shop here with an open mind! The new store is a couple blocks off the main drag, but IMHO that is a benefit. Take the time to get off the over beaten path and you will be greatly rewarded. Then you can just walk a block down the street and celebrate your new purchases with a glass of something at the Lincoln St. Wine Bar.

Yelp
Wonderful store with wonderful antiques and bedding. The staff is extremely willing to cut deals-- although when the deal is made it's still double or triple what I would be willing to pay for these items. I completely understand each piece is unique and has a great story behind it, but this doesn't warrant paying triple for in item just because of this. Many of the pieces are falling apart, the furniture sticks or is chipped and the smaller decor items will still have you paying a high price for something you can find at a trade day. With this being said though it is it completely worth a look! Very interesting and unique items and a HUGE selection, I did buy a few small thing that I couldn't pass up. So while I know they were over priced they were there in front of me and saved me the trip and the time looking at an antique week or trade weekend.

Yelp
Simply one of the most beautiful stores anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE! What a treasure for Fredericksburg. Helpful staff, and a large selection of interesting European pieces you would be hard pressed to find in the USA. Prices are not unreasonable for the quality and one-of-a-kind items in their collection. Everything from stuffed squirrels to beautiful carved beds - you just need to spend an hour and you will truly appreciate the unique sensibility here. They ship everywhere - do not miss this fabulous place!

Samantha M.

Yelp
This is a great place with some very unique items. There is a a large amount of religious iconography, from confessional booths to tapestries to crosses. This really isn't for the casual antiquing experience though. Most of these pieces require serious renovation, and if you don't have the talent to do it yourself you will be spending major money to have it done. That being said, it's an extremely interesting place to walk through, and probably the only one where I have seen many European antiques. It is about three blocks off Main street, but I would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
OMG! I can't believe these other reviews. This place looks like something out of a horror movie. "Shabby" is a good description. First of all, the colors of the fabrics are all a drab gray. The entire place is depressing and a bit scary. There are stuffed "ancient" animals that are so old their bodies are crumbling. In the first place, I can't image someone wanting to put these pitiful dead animals in their home. Oh yes, there is a large snake wrapped around a piece of wood. Just the thing to make your guests feel at home. I don't know what period of decorating this would be called, but count me out. The staff is very friendly, but this is definitely not for me.
