Google
The service was fantastic. My server Ricco was informative and attentive. The Rockefeller oysters were delicious however the salmon entre was not very filling as it sits in a bed of broth and very few vegetables. I was expecting more from an entre dish. The salmon was fine but not especially delicious. The ambience was very nice. *** went back the next day for tapas with friends and everything was incredible! See video for specifics I can’t decide what was my favorite but we enjoyed it all. And the hibiscus lemonade was delicious (it had to be diluted a little because it was very sweet but add a little water and it’s perfect!)

I was in the Charlotte, NC area for a family funeral that I came down from out of state ..I believe it was a Wednesday when I was there at Caroline's. I liked the vibe and atmosphere. Great selection of food. I had the Oysters Rockefeller , salad and a Salmon entree. All were very good. If I am back in that area I like to be there at Caroline's on a Fri or Sat night. Great staff and service. Even better the hostess was nice enough to charge my cell phone cause I forgot my car charger. I definitely would recommend Caroline's Oyster Bar.

Google
Perfection! Everything! The atmosphere is so pretty and cozy. Our server Tony was amazing. Excellent recommendations, very friendly, kept drinks refilled, and kept checking on us. Our food was absolutely delicious! The raw oysters were plump and juicy. The Calamari was perfectly cooked. The Shrimp & Grits were so flavorful and honestly some of the best I've ever had. My Old Fashioned was made perfectly. 10/10!!!

Google
I enjoyed the food here. The oysters were really good and we were able to order a variety of different types which was nice. They lost star for me due to the service. The waiter wasn't very responsive to our needs. We got no small plates to go with our appetizer. I table filled up and nothing was removed until we were done. You could clearly see napkins on top of plates to show we were done. We had to keep prompting the waiter to come to table. The food undoubtedly was great but better service would put them over the top.

Google
Really enjoyed our Valentine’s Day dinner at Caroline’s. Everything was top notch. Great service from our hostess, server and management. Espresso martinis were delicious and the food was incredible. Highly recommend the Cobia, seafood tagliatelle, clam chowder, oysters and the banana cream pie! I couldn’t even wait to take a photo before digging in to the Cobia, it was cooked perfectly. Ended up taking a Lyft because parking situation can be hectic around there. We made reservations but looked like the bar had ample room for people to drop in.

Our server Angola was great and made our experience memorable. All the food was amazing and we were all loving the food. And about the atmosphere we were sat next to the oyster bar and it was very interesting watching them. I would recommend if you go there to get the crème fraiche topped with their amazing caviar. Overall it was a great stay and we hope to be there again.

Google
A fantastic experience all around! Alyssa was a great server and took great care of us. The oysters were incredible .. everything was awesome!

Google
Very nice upscale restaurant! No dress code, no reservation needed.. you have a choice to sit outside under the heated lamps or indoors. Of course you had to try to oysters so we went with two of each kind . Each oyster individually cost around $3.50.. we also ordered the calamari which was very chewy but very delicious. Unfortunately, the server no need to mention her name was not very attentive. We seem to get all of our order piece by piece as well as our drinks. For example, appetizers usually come out with small plates to share among the table however you did not have any in this case and had to ask for them. Then we have to remind her of our drinks that we ordered .. and before we can order our entrees we had to wait for her to come back with the drinks. Basically the service skills need it a little more training . The food is what saved the high review. And let me point out we went on a Sunday evening around 8: 30pm and it was not busy . For the entree we ordered the lobster roll which was very buttery and delicious however the Texas toast that they use was not hand food friendly and hard to bite into therefore I had to cut up the lobster roll to eat it. The waygu frites was very delicious and cook excellently. Definitely recommend the steak ! Not much to say about the adult beverages because I had a glass of wine which was very nice ( The Seeker) , and we also tried one of the holiday drinks called The sandman which came in a cute snow cup!

Yelp
Sat at the bar for a quick meal after the ballet & the bartender, Danielle, gave me the courage to lose my raw oyster virginity. Raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, & the Shrimp + Lobster roll were all delicious. The bread used for the roll really heightened the taste. Danielle made my solo dining experience great! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant for our anniversary and what a great experience it was. We sat outside and when we sat down we got complimentary champagne since it was our anniversary. Surprising, because most places don't give you complimentary food or drinks anymore for occasions, especially high end restaurants. From the get go our server Henry was exceptional. I immediately ordered chowder fries which were so good! I highly recommend those. They also have a separate menu that you can choose what kind of oysters you want. If you prefer a type of oyster such as buttery, more salty, or sweeter, etc you can pick your oyster preference based on that. I thought this menu was brilliant. Oysters are $3.50 each and you can order as many as you prefer. I got 6 and they tasted exactly like fresh oysters. For dinner I got seafood tagliatelle. I was seafood with Alfredo sauce. The seafood in it was good but the Alfredo was very basic. Thankfully I was full by the time I got my dinner tray. We also got the wagyu which was so good! I highly recommend the burger if you go here and don't like seafood! Overall. Good food, especially the oysters, good atmosphere, and great service!

Yelp
Caroline's is right off of Brooklyn Ave. located in the JW Marriott hotel. You can opt for street parking or Valet at Marriott on the lower level. The restaurant does not validate parking. Ambience is nice with inside, bar, and patio seating. Reservations were made ahead of time for our anniversary celebration and this was noted. Upon arrival the crowd was moderate for a Father's Day Sunday. There was no mention of anniversary or offerings to help commemorate the occasion and we didn't bother to bring it up. Our server was nice and attentive. She helped to make our venture trying raw oysters for the first time very smooth. She recommended some tasty options. The menu is somewhat limited but workable. There were special select meals available each week in June to represent a Lobster Fest theme. We tried the Fried Lobster and the Brush Creek Wagu Burger. Both were delicious. We also had the calamari for appetizer which like others have said needs to be fried longer. It comes out soft not light and crispy. Overall good experience and would recommend a visit.

Yelp
The seating is dope, and oyster select phenomenal. Although I don't do oysters my friend did, and she enjoyed them tremendously. I loved the openness of the seating, too

Rose K.

Yelp
The waitstaff is so friendly and helpful!! This restaurant also has the BEST BURGER I have had in my life. You must get the Waygu burger. I also recommend getting one of each oyster to try it. I enjoyed the first two.

Jess B.

Yelp
Not many options for those that don't eat beef, pork or prefer cold seafood! Went on 6/11 to celebrate my sisters bday! The server disappeared/ no longer wanted to serve us for some odd reason but the manager was polite & took care of us! The shrimp & grits were good! Scott the chef did his thing with the shrimp

Aarti G.

Yelp
This place was packed on a weeknight. I could tell it was a popular after work hangout. Since this place is known for oysters I had to try some. The oysters weren't bad. I got the seafood tagliatelle which was pretty good and had a variety of seafood. My friend was vegetarian and the waiter messed up her order unfortunately and then didn't offer to comp anything or give us dessert on the house. It took a while for her food to get fixed so I felt bad. Otherwise, the food was decent.

Christina A.

Yelp
Every thing was fresh and very tasty the fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail and the PEI mussels were amazing

Mary J.

Yelp
Incredible food from the crab hush puppies, Caroline's Plateau (oysters were delicious) to the green goddess salad...everything had just the right amount of flavor! Would eat here over and over again. Enjoyed the option to sit inside or outside, all covered, but still with plenty of moving air. It was my birthday so they offered a dessert of my choosing. I went with the butter cake which didn't not disappoint. The strawberry mule and the Mai tai were exceptional. 6 stars would be a better assessment of this place! 4.9 doesn't do it justice!!

Jillian M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this restaurant. My friend and I stopped by randomly while passing through Uptown, and it was such a good spur-of-the-moment decision. The vibes are immaculate on the patio. The selection of oysters was great, and the price point reasonable. We loved their creative cocktail options too. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for food or drink, and our server was so helpful with explaining the different seafood options. Next time I'm in Uptown, this spot will be high on my list to visit again.

Yelp
After attending a comedy show nearby, we decided to drop by and try because like many others shared this place is open late. It has great ambiance inside and out. I loved how even outdoors you can dine and enjoy because they have fans outside as well. The service however could have been majorly improved as we were honestly about to leave and look for another place. When we arrived, we asked the waiter if we could dine in a booth outside. The waiter told us to hold on about 5 mins as it was being cleaned. As we sat in the corner we realized they stacked the dishes and never returned to pick them up. As no one returned they continued to seat others while there were other booths empty. Finally, I got up to inquire and ask why we couldn't utilize the other booth available and then he allowed us to sit there. Once we got sat, it took a while to get an actual server as well. The food was pretty good. I loved the lobster and shrimp roll. I was pleasantly surprised that for the price of it, they actually give you a good portion of meat. Throughout the dinner, I will say the waiter came back to check on us off and on however truthfully you feel like it's too late. It's one of those moments when you see wrong and they realize the error but it's too late to correct. You just want to eat and try to forget but I appreciate the effort. Would give it a second shot though in the future.

Yelp
After visiting Charlotte's Museum of Illusions, we decided to try out Caroline's Oyster Bar. Our server was amazing, personable, and professional. As an appetizer, we started with crab hush pies with lemon aioli. For drinks, my friend ordered the Coastal Getaway while I had a glass of Riesling. After consulting with our server, we decided on the Mahi al Pastor and the Wagyu Frites for our entrée. Both dinners were excellent, and I definitely suggest them. I can note that, despite the fact that this is a seafood restaurant, we were astonished to hear that most patrons do not order seafood, and it was not high on the waiter's recommended list. Caroline's Oyster Bar has a lovely atmosphere. The ambient illumination makes it ideal for a romantic dinner or catching up with friends over drinks.

Yelp
Came here on Friday, 11/10 around 8:30. Sat at the bar. Don't expect to watch the game because there aren't any TV's at the bar. It's a restaurant inside of the JW Marriott in Uptown Charlotte. I was greeted within 3 minutes of me sitting down. 2 different bartenders waited on me. They were proficient but not as friendly as I would've liked. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller for $22. They were ehhh. They weren't very hot and had too much bread crumb topping on it. The fries were ok but get cold and hard quickly The bar seats were comfy but it's extremely dark there. That's why I didn't take a pic. I wouldn't come back to eat only for drinks Maybe.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
I went Friday night, the food is really good. The restaurant is really nice and elegant. My waitress was friendly but not as attentive to the table. It could be because there weren't as many staff.

Monica M.

Yelp
All seafood was fresh and delicious. Loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Reminded me of a nice NYC oyster bar. Finally some oysters served on ice and not on rock salt!!!! Service was attentive and very friendly. Drinks decently priced and lots of finely selected menu options. Will definitely return

Megan P.

Yelp
I went here for my birthday dinner. This place is nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You have to park on the street or in the garage. We went on a Monday night and it was very quiet. The staff were friendly. Our server gave me suggestions on oysters because I was wondering on the size of them. And I came for the oysters. And they had 6 different types of oyster prices were $3.50 each. For my main dish I had the seafood pasta. With was seasoned well and it was just enough. My fiancé has the waygu beef and he stated he was seasoned nicely and he enjoyed the garlic butter on top it was the best beef he ever had. He said it was also cooked the way he liked it. He also had collards greens and those were good as well. For my bday I was able to pick a dessert and I picked the brownie with the ice cream and that was good. This place was nice and I am glad I went here for my bday dinner. We will be returning it's a nice little vibe during the week.

Ellen C.

Yelp
This place is soooo good and would recommend over Dean's Italian Steakhouse which is right next door. Price point is lower and their food is more flavorful and delicious. We enjoyed the chowder fries which I'd highly recommend getting. I got the seafood Tagliatelle and my husband got the wagyu burger. Both were amazing. For dessert we ordered the cast iron brownie. Amazing. Very rich and filling. I would highly recommend this place and would come back.

Arthur H.

Yelp
Went to just have a few drinks and the strawberry mule drink tasted great. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was good.

Feier C.

Yelp
Food is tasteless!!! and pricy based on its taste. Dunno where are the five star reviews on Google coming from. I bet they are bot reviews as they look exactly the same to appreciate a specific server. I mean the service is not bad but the food is way worse.

Meredith K.

Yelp
I tried Caroline's Oyster Bar for the first time last week and enjoyed something from each part of the menu. For an appetizer, I got the crab hush puppies, for dinner I had the scallops, and for dessert, I had the butter cake. All of these choices were fantastic! The service here was great! I do not eat bacon, so instead of having bacon as part of my scallop entree, my waitress gave me an extra scallop! The ambiance was nice and more casual than I expected it to be. I will definitely be back soon!

Shay N.

Yelp
Okay this was my first time at Caroline's oyster bar (I am not a huge oyster fan) but wow the service was incredible - Josh served us and was awesome, attentive, and quick to get our orders. Not to mention, the food and drinks were incredible. I would go back here in a heart beat!

April B.

Yelp
Located Uptown inside the JW Marriott Hotel, this restaurant is where the sea meets the city. There's definitely business casual vibes, so keep this place in mind when you need to sip sip after a long day's work. I've never eaten raw oysters so my server was very helpful in navigating that part of the menu. In terms of food, Caroline's offers a wide array of the coast's finest such as: Shrimp Cocktail Kennebec Chips & Salmon Dip Scallop Ceviche Seafood Plateaus New England Clam Chowder Point Judith Calamari Burnt Ends Salads Fish & Chips Shrimp & Grits Brush Creek Ranch 100% Wagyu Burger Desserts Craft Cocktails, Espresso Martinis, Free Spirits, Wine (including Dessert Wine) and Beer What I Tried: WATERMELON SUGAR MARGARITA - ($14.00) - Reposado Tequila, Orange Liqueur, Watermelon, Lime, Hibiscus Agave - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. EAST COAST OYSTERS- ($3.50 each) - Mignonette, Lemon, Cocktail Sauce - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. CRAB HUSH PUPPIES ($15.00) - Lemon Aioli - MUST TRY. SHRIMP & LOBSTER ROLL ($22.00 - paired with HAND-CUT FRIES)- Buttered New England Bun, Citrus Mayo, Celery Salt - HIGLY RECOMMENDED.

Brian V.

Yelp
There 10 people besides me at the bar and I guess I don't deserve a drink or any service. No "Hello" or "Welcome. I'll be right with you". Nothing! Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. I travel all over and I've never sat at a bar for so long as this with no service of any kind. After 13 minutes I finally got some level of service from the bartender. I ordered a beer (Legion Oktoberfest) and clam chowder to start. The clam chowder has a strange taste. I can't place it but even with salt and pepper added it still has a funny taste. Not even close to what I wanted or expected. I don't know if this is some strange southern variety but if they are going to serve something different then it should not have the name of a classic American soup! Disappointing to say the least. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Mable G.

Yelp
Walked passed this restaurant and was instantly interested because we love oysters. Called a couple of times to see if reservations were needed but no one answered. Ultimately, we just made a reservation online just in case. Every thing else we ate from salads, soups, burgers to pasta was not that special, especially for the price. The wait staff was nice though. The ambiance is nice and I would stop to hang out with friends and have appetizers and go elsewhere for actual dinner and save some $$$.

Na'Shota L.

Yelp
3*=A OK This JW Marriott Hotel adjacent restaurant appears to be a solid place, but noting wowed me or knocked my socks off. It was mild night pre new year, so we sat outside. Heater hanging from the ceiling was on full blast and angled at a way that if you're shorter than 5'5", the heat is hitting you right in the face. I asked one of tye hosts if it could be turned down. He turned it off. Thankfully another Hostess turned it back on at a comfortable level. Hubby and I ordered 2 hot appetizers and a side. I got a cocktail. They were out of the beer he wanted so he ordered a mocktail. Fries were OK. Burt ends were very fatty and not caramelized at all. Calamari was a good portion size and tarter was good. My cocktail was good. His mocktail was ok. Tasted more orange like than strawberry. Decided to order dessert. That was tasty. Our server was pleasant and checked with us occasionally. I may come back to try this place again.

Yelp
This has become a new Charlotte favorite of mine! I've brought friends here a few times since my first visit back in May and it absolutely does not dissapoint. Their seafood is mouthwateringly good and super fresh! Now of course their oysters are amazing, I love that there are different selections each time I come in, and they come in the cutest dish with mini hot sauce! (I may or may not have a few extras in my purse now) My personal entree favorites are the Lobster Roll, Steamed PEI Mussels, and Shrimp & Grits. If you get the Lobster Roll and Mussels, dip your roll into the beer broth that the Mussels are cooked in, it's INCREDIBLE. I also love their cocktails! I'm a tequila girl that loves a little smokiness so I always go for the Mezcal + Soda or the Watermelon Margarita if I'm feeling on the sweeter side. The ambience is super chill and if you want more of an intimate moment snag a booth outside. I highly recommend reservations so you and your crew won't have to wait because it stays consistently busy. However, no matter the crowd, the service is quick, dependable, and insanely welcoming. I feel right at home whenever I arrive. Caroline's Oyster Bar is an absolute 10/10 of a business and has now been my favorite Offline pick this year! I can't wait to go back again :)

Jacquelene H.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and have always enjoyed it. Food and drinks have always been good. The last time I went, we had very bad service. Our waiter started off really nice, but later on in our meal he became rude. He dropped off our checks, and we said we wanted to order another drink. He said okay and that he would add on our drinks to our bills. We gave him our cards to pay after getting our drinks and without seeing the new total. He returned our cards and receipts to add a tip. We noticed the credit card bill had an added $30 to it. We were confused because 1 drink was not $30, so we asked for the itemized bill. When we got it, we saw he added a gratuity of 20% to the bill for a table with 4 people. I am total fine with adding a tip of 20% of the bill, but our waiter did not tell us or give us a receipt that showed the tip. It just seemed like he was trying to get us to tip again and super distasteful.

Sue P.

Yelp
Food was very good! Service was amazing, our server Ricco was the best. The atmosphere was very fun inside. 10/10, definitely recommend!!

Tia W.

Yelp
I attended once more this past Saturday and REALLY enjoyed with my mom. We sat outside, SUCH cute ambiance. We ordered the crab hush puppies as an appetizer (pro tip, get extra lemon aioli and thank me later!!)-- they were DELICIOUS! This time I ordered the sea diver scallops, a VERY hearty dish and I felt the scallops were extremely meaty and cooked well. My mom got the crab and lobster roll with kale salad which she said was excellent. Our service was great as usual.

Harold C.

Yelp
Lets see what happens here!! Just got here I just here lets see how it goes. Let's see what happens at the end of my review. I will keep you guys posted on what's going on at the oyster bar uptown charlotte nc.!

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Love the service , atmosphere and the food. No fan of the mignonette to vinegar tasting however loved the raw oysters. Celebrating a birthday

Lenisha L.

Yelp
While in Charlotte I had my mind set on getting some oysters since we were on the coast (I try and keep my oyster consumption for cities near water since they're fresher) This place popped up on Google and was located in the JW Marriott. Such a cute oyster bar with a very sophisticated vibe! When we were seated they sat us next to another birthday party of about 10 people and they were loud (of course they're celebrating a birthday as was I) but it was just 3 of us and we wanted to be able to talk to each other. The hostess kind of had a attitude when I asked to move, but we brushed it off. The server Dakota was AMAZING and very attentive. We shared a slalom dip that I thought was going to be like a creamy salmon melted cheese dip but it was cold with no flavor and I couldn't even taste the salmon. The dip was served with kettle chips which were pretty good (2/5). We also had Rockefeller oysters (3/5) the oysters were dried out and so small I was very disappointed, because the flavor was there but it lacked OYSTER lol. My entree was the wagyu burnt ends and it was fall off the bone tender it melted it my mouth just so good, I'd recommend serving it with some type of bread though. I enjoyed a French 75 with bourbon instead of gin and that was definitely a 5/5!

Dionah T.

Yelp
I was treated to dinner for my birthday recently and I was thoroughly pleased with everything!! I wasn't aware of where I was going so we grabbed a parking spot on the street. There is a garage right behind it but it can get a little pricey if you anticipate on being here for a while. It's also accessible from the J.W. Marriott lobby (just walk up the stairs or catch the elevator to second floor). It was a nice evening and the patio seating is actually pretty good size so I opted for a table outside. We were taken care of as soon as we sat down (major points, especially since they weren't too busy). Of course I started dinner with their signature Blackberry Bee's Knees with gin (again, it does not make you sin...it makes you smile) and an order of Oysters Rockefeller (chef's kiss on the oysters). My drink was a little sweeter than I'd expected but it was still good. The dinner entrees aren't extensive but there were some great selections. I ultimately went with the Brush Creek Ranch 100% Wagyu burger because that's what I had a taste for and our waitress spoke highly of it. This burger did not disappoint at all, especially since it's a double patty burger... it was great and I happily ate all of it! But that wasn't the end... our waitress informed me that I was able to select a dessert for my birthday (side note: it was known from the reservation so be sure to mention any special occasions). I decided to try the Cast Iron Brownie. I thought they'd just drop it off at the table and keep it moving...nope! They were kind enough to light a candle and sing... it legit was a great way to end dinner. From the service to the food, I'd definitely try them again! Oh! Another reason why I enjoyed dinner here, the patio was so nice... it was raining and we legit didn't know until we walked out to leave! Talk about being well covered...go check them out, you'll enjoy it!

Matt B.

Yelp
Location was great, located at the JW Marriot next to Deans. My wife and I shared the Wagu burger and the scallops. Both were good, cooked perfectly but just average. Calamari was very chewy, must have been over cooked. I will say the fries were amazing. I was hoping for a little more out of this place.

Katrina G.

Yelp
Took myself here I felt that it was a bit overpriced. I prefer sea level better overall the location and then beyond was nice. The service was cool upscale of course but I kind of want to stick to the rivers and lakes that I'm used to lol. I recommend it for a fancy date night. I've had better at other places, but this was overall not bad just a little overrated.

Kel G.

Yelp
Order: Point Judith Calamari, Seafood Tagliatelle, NE clam chowder, shrimp and lobster roll, raw oysters (red raider). The restaurant is located downtown Charlotte next to the Marriott hotel; there's available parking in the adjacent garage but the restaurant doesn't validate (not what I expected of a restaurant of this caste). Not a lot of nearby street parking so you'll have to walk far if you want free parking. The restaurant was on the smaller side, limited indoor seating but had many smaller tables on the heated patio. No complaint on the food wait time. The calamari were crispy with the exception of the pieces at the bottom, which were soaked in oil. They probably weren't allowed to drain enough because the oil mat was drenched too. They served fried pickled veggies along with the calamari which were very tasty. The chowder was good but wasn't hot enough. I like my soup scorching, which would have been perfect since it was a windy night. The pasta was very good. Not too salty. You can taste the flavor from the water used to cook the pasta. The shrimp and clams were seasoned well which paired nicely with the less seasoned pasta. For once a restaurant that doesn't over-salt their food. I've never had raw oyster before and this was my first time trying it. The red raiders had a sweetness to them that was pleasantly unexpected and I wasn't weirded by the texture. The only plate that could use more work is the shrimp and lobster roll. The bread that was used was too thick and doughy. The shrimp and lobster didn't have enough flavor to offset all the bread. The fries were good though. Very crispy. Overall will definitely come back for more oyster experience.

Bev L.

Yelp
Fabulous service!! Great ambiance!! Good good!! This was our first time here. Never knew this place existed. It's on the first floor of the JW Marriott hotel. The only negative is that it is expensive to park here. They don't validate parking. The first hour is nine dollars and then every hour after that an additional nine dollars. It was $18 total. Other than that, this is a cool place. I probably won't be going again due to the parking. Plenty of parking, it's just too expensive.

Demi D.

Yelp
Date night in the Queen City and the oysters were everything! I highly recommend this place !

Melitta S.

Yelp
We came for late night appetizers. Our server was awesome. Ambiance was fun and lively. Food was spectacular! Got the oysters, calamari and salmon dip. We literally wiped all plates clean!

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Yummy east coast oysters! Super fresh and everything you want in an oyster bar. Also not pictured (phone did not eat first), THE BURGER!!! Amazing! Give this place a try!

May H.

Yelp
I recommend making reservations prior to coming as the restaurant is usually packed. My experience has was fantastic. Brooke took great care of us and made sure my friends and I enjoyed our dinner. I especially want to highlight the Calamari and Scallop Ceviche to start. The batter for the Calamari was crispy and flakey. It's also a good enough size to split between 2+ people. On the other hand, the Scallop Ceviche offered a refreshing start to cleanse your pallet before the courses arrive.

Eric M.

Yelp
I came here for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! The cocktails were spectacular. The server was super helpful with recommendations and the space is modern and welcoming. The selection of oysters was impressive and very tasty. I would highly recommend giving this spot a try!

Jessica G.

Yelp
I'm very torn about the spot. 3.5 stars It was a recommendation from locals as we are out of town from Atlanta and I'd say the food was definitely four stars but the service was like two stars. We ordered oysters, Caesar salad, and fritters for starters, and then our entrées, all at the same time. Our salad and fritters came first, which was odd, because usually when you order oysters as the first thing to show up, then we were finishing our fritters and salad, which both were very tasty, and we ask them. Hey are we still getting our oysters? And he said yes he's just finishing them. It's an oyster bar right so we got two of each of the oysters on the list. They were ok, but not that varied in flavor or region - and big catch was it came with cocktail sauce and vinegar but no horseradish. Usually with good oysters you don't want to lose the flavor with something like a cocktail sauce, but there wasn't any horseradish at all to enhance it. Anyway, glad oysters got there. We also ordered champagne to go with the oysters and the champagne gets there as we have maybe two of our dozen left. Little frustrating. Then our entrées also arrive as we are in the middle of our oysters. Thought this was an upscale restaurant, where they would think the time things out properly but OK. So then, on a table top for two, we have this tray of oysters in our entrée. We finish our oysters, put the oysters to the outside of the table for access to pick it up. I took a photo because we legit basically finish your entrées and the oysters were still sitting there. Mind you, it's a Monday night it's not that busy and our server passed by a few times. I just think he didn't think to get it out of the way. In short, the ambience of the restaurant is good, chill music, ha ha ha food was good, service seems a little underwhelming for this type of restaurant caliber.

Yelp
We had a great time. Had several types of oysters, seafood tagliatelle, scallops, calamari, and gooey butter cake. Everything was fresh and yummy. It's very lively and people like to hang at the bar. Service was great! Our waiter was very fun and recommended many things. I especially love that gooey butter cake and often dream of it. :-D

Yelp
We ate here due to proximity of our hotel. If you're familiar with reviews at all, when you see a higher star rating with this many reviews, you eat there!!! Well, we did..... You see my rating. I can't say that anything about the experience was bad, it was just middle of the road at best? Nothing that provided details on such a good rating? All our food tasted ok, the service was adequate, the atmosphere was good. If you're staying in the same building, it makes sense.... I will say, they have a fantastic appetizer special in the evening that we took advantage of!

Yelp
Food was excellent. Went for our 59th anniversary with some of my family and was pleasantly surprised. Appetizers were great, mains except mine were wonderful, which they quickly replaced and desserts were on the house. Service was top notch. Our waiter was on top of everything and very attentive. The ambience was perfect. We totally enjoyed the evening.

Yelp
A go-to spot for a drink every time we're in town! We swung by before a game, and the service was on point--efficient and got us in and out swiftly. The well-crafted drinks set the tone right. While the appetizers were just okay, it was evident the kitchen was a bit backed up, but given the circumstances, totally understandable. It's very nice inside can get a little loud.

Yelp
Came here for girls night out. The drinks were great. I had a dirty martini (Tito's) and my friends had a Manhattan. We all ordered 2 rounds. They were made perfect. Then we shared the oysters Rockefeller and the petite plateau, which included 6 raw oysters, 4 jumbo shrimp, and 4oz tuna tartar. The sauces and mignonette that accompanied the tray were delicious. Then came the entrees. Unfortunately the shrimp and grits were too salty and the seafood tagliatelle had no seasoning at all (I had to add my own salt and pepper ). The lobster and shrimp roll was decent but hard to eat like a roll, def required knife and fork. And the saving grace of the meal was dessert. We had the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream to share. Super yummy. So when I come back to Caroline's, I'll just be ordering the appetizers, drinks, and dessert. We will save the entrees for somewhere else.

Yelp
Stopped in for some apps and drinks after being rained out at Aura Rooftop one Saturday evening. The restaurant layout is very different in where it has different styles of seating for dining and a more open kitchen. It was packed but we managed to get a seat at the bar. The bar staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food however was not much to write about. It was bad but it wasn't good. We ordered the crab hush puppies, calamari, clam chowder soup, fries (actually good), collard greens, white cheddar greens. Everyone in our party felt the same about the food but they did say their drinks were good. Would i recommend for dining? - No. would I give them a second shot? Sure.

Yelp
I had a great time at Oyster Bar. We were staying at the JW Marriott. We didn't want to leave the hotel. I find that hotel restaurants don't always feel like a real restaurant. I was mistaken with the Oyster Bar. I would definitely go again. I always order seafood since I'm pescatarian. My cousin and I had the mussels and the seafood Tagliatelle. The portions are large which is a plus. I suggest visiting the Oyster Bar if you are in the area! Oh and my drink was yummy. Order the Blueberry Coco-Jito and you won't be disappointed.
