Carousel Ride & Food Kiosk GGP

the golden gate park is the best all around place to be IMO. the beauty of the landscaping, and the magic of the ocean air/ weather coming through. speaking of which, on a cooler day?The part of the carousel that's pictured is a really nice solar catch.It's slightly warmer, with a little bit of sun, than all the other surrounding areas just to sit and enjoy. it's been years since i've been back there.But now they have a full cafe in that little kiosk, as an audience member on the outside of the carousel, I enjoy the music and the beautiful art that is the carousel painting, sculpture and of course, the drumming circles on saturdays and sundays are my favorite, which are just across the meadow. Surprisingly great coffee! They make it really well even when the place is busy. The food is tasty and prepared pretty quickly. Thanks guys, you’re awesome!

Charged $2 for a cup of ice without even informing me of the cost. That being said, the espresso based drinks I have gotten are great. Carousel is fantastic. The Line at cafe is annoyingly long when you just want to buy carousel tickets.

Carousel is a treasure, but the line at the Cafe to buy tickets is ridiculous. Cafe workers are friendly but just chatting away while there’s a long line of people waiting to buy tickets. They should streamline this somehow, wouldn’t be that hard.

Kids 5 and under are free with an adult. I always buy two adult tickets with my toddler because she’s gonna want to ride it again when it’s over. Kids over 5 are $1, and adults are $2.50. The ride lasts about 4-5 min, it’s very antique and looks nearly like it must have when they first built it. The line is never too long.

Yes, it's old, but it's also a San Francisco classic, and the little ones love it. Just let your imagination go in circles for a few minutes and ignore all your worries. Try and find a horse that not only goes up and down but also has some hair on its tail. If you're holding your kids hand, let the hair also gently hit their back and really pretend they're going to take off soon! And just remember when you get off, that millions of kids and adults have been around and around on this joy ride. And now you're on them too!

Great place to take kids! The carousel is extremely affordable—like others said, you buy them at a food kiosk, so it might take a bit of waiting to get your ticket. But afterwards there’s a great playground for the kids to play on. My nieces had a great time!
