The place has a fun vibe and the atmosphere was great, but it was really loud hard to hear the people at my own table. Food was alright. The starters were actually solid, but the mains were just okay. I had the veggie risotto, which was fine, nothing memorable. Also tried the fish and chips and unfortunately had a bit of an allergic reaction pretty sure they fry everything in the same oil, so heads up if you have any food allergies. Service was good though staff was nice and attentive. Overall, not a bad spot for drinks and apps with friends, but I wouldn’t go expecting amazing food or a quiet meal.

Nice and chill local bar. Liked its vibe with my friends. Wasn't too loud but still had enough crowds, so it was easy to enjoy beers together with finger foods. It was also kinda interesting that the bar had two different spaces; typical bar space and another one that was more like sit-down type of restaurant-kind space. When we asked, they let us take one table there even though we weren’t gonna order any proper food menu.

Staff are super friendly, very nice warm fireplace that completes a cozy dining room. Easily some of the best wings I’ve had in Hoboken, great Guinness, and anything on the menu that has their steak is worth an order. Will be coming back much more often.

This is our favorite outdoor place in Hoboken, and it is on the edge of the industrial part of Northend. The outdoor experience and indoor dining area are quite different here. Brunch has big portions, and food is good in general. We like the server Brian, who was all by himself outside and he fulfilled all of your needs promptly.

Sat outside with our pup. Buffalo sandwich wasnt good (its sweet buffalo sauce?) fries are great and chicken sandwich was tasty. Would try something else next time just skip buffalo sandwich

Walked in with a friend without reservations on Friday night, place was very crowded but they were able to seat us. Service was prompt and server was attentive. As a matter fact several servers waited on us to make sure we were OK. Dinner was good and portions were decent size. They had a few local craft beers on tap. Highly recommend!

I really love this place. Super cozy, always a great crowd, and the service is great! Last night we had the California burger and the Southwest chicken rolls and both were delicious! It was busy without being overwhelming and I really appreciate that. The second, "dining room" area was great, with a little fireplace to add to the ambiance and two TVs so we didn't feel left out of the sports atmosphere. Always a great time!

Piermont s new diner style option provides a sparkling and varied menu. Great option in town for breakfast or lunch with price points you’re going to appreciate. Tip my hat to solid offering!!!

Burgers was outstanding! Baked briefly salad was so yummy and sweet pot fries hit the spot! Ordered a side and got a gigantic plate for sharing! Adorable little bar... service was fast until our food came and they never checked back to refill drinks. I would definitely come here if you are in the mood for bar food that is fresh! Looks like the burhers and wings are where its at here! The place was packed by the time we left.

Carpe Diem in Hoboken NJ offers a delightful experience with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The steamed mussels, and the chili wings were well-cooked. Looking forward to returning for more delectable dishes and perhaps trying the Irish breakfast. The ambiance, complete with a fireplace and TVs, added to the enjoyable dining experience. Always a great time at Carpe Diem! Also the bartender is super friendly and welcoming!!

This place is so cozy! Carpe Diem is a homey, unassuming Irish pub in North Hoboken. We got a warm greeting from the bartender when we sat at the bar. For dinner, we moved to a table. I got a market salad with shrimp and it was pretty tasty. The server was friendly and prompt. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere-- I will definitely be back and I'm excited to try more things from the menu!

What an amazing and convenient location. Maybe if I drank more and sat at the bar and could bar fare regularly this would be my jam. But I'm in the back, the parent section...those of us holding onto dreams of yesteryear when we had lives before bringing our kids to the local pub's parent section. I want to love this cutely decorated neighborhood favorite but after a few visits, I think I'm tapped out. Service is 0. We went a weeknight and the young lady server that night was helpful in ordering and kind but once she took my order was nowhere to be found. Literally. I had to ask 4 other people for everything from water to the check and everything in between. Today was even more abysmal. Asked dude for brunch reccs and he said he doesn't eat breakfast so he can't really help. He took my order and one entire order was missing. At no point was he present or came back to ask how the food was or he'd have seen one person's meal didn't come. An meh "apology" came when he brought the check that I waited 15 minutes for and even longer for him to bring the change. The pancakes were solid and OK. Chicken stir fry from dinner was bland and came in a soupy mess. It was like rice in a soup. Think gumbo w/o the gumbo flavor. I don't think that was the intention. Omelette needed salt or pepper or both. Southwest egg rolls were OK. Wings were dry and unseasoned meat w 0 taste without the sauce. I'm not a bar fly anymore so maybe the rave reviews are for the bar. I don't know but I cannot spend an hour and 15 minutes waiting for food, only to have a fraction of our order arrive, 0 water refills, 0 fs given from the waiters and horrific attitude from the curly haired guy today... I don't get it how he was so miserable at such an early point in his day. I wish I could come here daily bc it's close and right there, but I gets no love from this place. Wishing them the best.

Amazing Irish spot. 1) The place is very cozy. It is a warm cozy spot on a rainy day. They also have couches, which is very nice. But, getting the couches is tough. There is always someone stilling there. Also, near some seats are changing stations, which is really nice if your phone charge is running low. 2) I will highly recommend the pasties, it is meat filled pastry with gravy. Unbelievable! 3) Their Shepard's Pie was great. But, ask for their gravy on the side. It makes the Shepard's pie go from a 7/10 to a solid 9/10

The best wings ever! Finally made time to come here and try their famous, award winning wings and they really are that good! They're a must have and you'll definitely be craving them after you try them. Can't wait to go back just for the wings. The staff was also very nice and attentive.

The chicken wings are sooo good! So are the fish and chips. But everyone who works there is really friendly and welcoming.

First, let me say that I'm a big fan of this cafe and recommend it to anyone. The food and service are very good and warrant four stars. However, I have two suggestions that can make it even better: 1. Take measures to mitigate the excessively loud noises coming from the coffee bar e.g., constant banging of portafilters and 2. bring back the bacon jam, it's the main reason many people preferred Carpe over local alternatives.

Carpe Diem is a staple in Hoboken. A hidden gem in uptown On grand street. This is the best place for staple comfort food. The restaurant is very cozy inside with red velvet curtains and fireplace. All the food is always so warm and delicious. We had the pasties for appetizer, which was hot meat potato Pattie's with a hot tasty gravy. I was a little upset that they were out of 'Kates way' which is a open face Turkey bacon and gravy sandwich. That is always my #1 item to order here. (Please bring it back :) Luckily, the menu has so many other options I wasn't upset because you can never go wrong with their burgers!

Perfect Irish pub for a late night drink with locals vibes. The staff here is excellent and the Guinness is top notch. We are big fans of their wings and it's a great spot to catch the Yankees or NHL/NBA. I haven't been here for a football Sunday, their bar room is a bit small and limited tvs so probably would only get the local games. This is the best spot uptown for a nightcap after dinner!

I like this spot. I have been many years ago but recently stopped in for Cinco de Mayo! We ordered tequilla/club soda and 2 specials! The carnitas tacos and chicken nachos. Both were actually really good- perfect to share! We sat in the bar area high tops and our server was really nice. Would recommend, would happily go back to try other things too!

We sat indoor upstairs. Upstairs is more quiet so that's normally good. However, the music was awful. A mix of Michael a Jackson and Wagon Wheel? Idk what's that's all about. French fries were good/decent. Banana bread beer was good. They gave me a cup full of ice for my magnet cider that was already cold, idk why. The rigatoni vodka pasta was so flavorless, I was so annoyed. I would have preferred store bought vodka sauce at home.

Came here for a weekend brunch and drinks . Firstly, service is very good and plenty of seating . Unfortunately they were out of many of the beers I requested on the menu , but it happens . As far as the drinks , Bloody Mary wasn't bad but no olives or celery in it ??? Now on to the food . I was looking forward to it but it was not great . We ordered SW chicken rolls to start which were lukewarm in temp and taste . I ordered a burger with the fries . Burger was average as the meat had no taste but the fries were stellar. My buddy got the breakfast burrito and he ate a little more than half - mediocre as was the burger Overall , there are much better pub food options in Hoboken. I hear a lot of great things about Carpe but today was not one of them

Amazing!!! FOOD I got the INCREDIBLE brie burger. Has bacon in it. The bun was a faintly sweet brioche, just how I like it! The brie was all melty on the patty. I ordered medium rare, but I think next time I'd get just medium. It had slightly raw vibes for me. The burgers and sandwiches come with fries which were PERFECTLY fried. My friend's sweet potato fries were incredible too. I usually don't like those but they were done well! I got the St. Germain cocktail which did not disappoint! I wish maybe there were another layer of flavor to the elderflower but it was great nonetheless. My friend got a strawberry margarita which she really enjoyed. MOOD Inside was SUPER dark so pictures weren't that great :( 'TUDE Friendly and attentive servers. No complaints. All in their 20s I think.

This is a great neighborhood spot. People come to enjoy a sporting event on TV, enjoy a beer, eat good food, meet friends. We were there for dinner. The fresh mozzarella was just mozzarella sticks in a round shape. They were delicious. We also enjoyed the chicken quesadilla for our appetizers. The burgers were juicy and prepared just right. The fries were crisp and hot. Overall, a delicious meal. The front area is the bar and the back room has limited seating. Outdoor dining available when weather permits. The fireplace in the back room must be very inviting on a cool night. Our server was attentive, not a long wait for any of our food that was served at the right temperature and friendly people. Yes, they also have carry-out. It's all good.

Pictures look way better than food tastes. Friends spoke highly of the place... I had the balls to tell the waiter I think I got the wrong flavor of chicken wings... he assured me they were Buffalo. If that's Buffalo, I don't know what's happening. Asides from food, staff was friendly and I appreciated his positive attitude especially when running between inside and outside in a rain storm. Just wish the food lived up to the hype.

Super cool place. Clearly, it is a local joint, but with friendly people, a great bartender and fun atmosphere. Do appreciate Nick behind the bar and some of the locals to engage and have a fun conversation. Definitely recommend this place. I will be back.

This is my all time favorite spot in Hoboken for a good burger, a beer, and a friendly, casual atmosphere. It's a no nonsense pub which is hard to find in Hoboken which is very much into the very trendy scene. The staff are so nice and love to just chat and have a good time while you're sitting at the bar. It had been a while since we dined in person because of covid and I'm so glad nothing has changed! Their menu has wine and beer pairings on it for each item so you know what goes best! The bacon and Brie burger is my favorite but I'm also known to get the mini burgers. I ALWAYS sub my fries for their sweet potato fries and famous Moon sauce! Trust me, it's amazing! They're also known for their Buffalo wings and have won awards, you won't be disappointed! They have a dining room with a cozy fireplace or the bar room with a few high top tables and bar seating (my preference). Now that it's nice out, they also have outdoor dining and a streatery across the street under the viaduct! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Stopped in yesterday for takeout and our order was ready right on time. It was nice to see how they had the tables set up for outdoor dining. The staff wore masks both indoors and outside. I got the California Burger which was HUGE and perfectly cooked. Really loved the cilantro/jalapeño sauce on it. The fries were perfectly crispy as well. Great option for takeout or outdoor dining if you're in the area.

Great local bar. And while most "bars" in Hoboken inevitably flip over into a club or a sports bar, this place keeps true to its identity all hours. Above average if not great food, good beers, wine selection etc. A bit off the beaten path but that's why this place works well. Thursday is half price bottles of wine. Pair that with the rigatoni vodka.

Five stars for this casual, cozy Irish pub. BEST WINGS IN HOBOKEN. I'm very particular with my buffalo sauce. I find that a lot of buffalo sauces are "sweet" buffalo sauces, which is typically not what I prefer. I tend to lean towards the more savory/spicy sauce. Carpe Diem has a sweeter sauce, and I STILL think they're the best wings in Hoboken. As good as the wings are, it's quite the opposite with the fries. The buffalo wings are remarkable, and the fries are remarkably underwhelming. No biggie, plenty of other things on the menu. Plus it's all about the wings.

I rarely leave yelp reviews, but Carpe is absolutely deserving of all 5 stars. Nick, the main bartender, is incredible at his job; very welcoming and courteous the second you walk into the bar. The staff around him is always hustling to ensure quality and efficient service. The atmosphere is quite cozy and has the 'small town bar' feel. Great spot to have some wings, pound a Guinness, and watch any sports game.

Can't say enough positive things about this place. Great/professional service, excellent food, and the staff treats you very warmly/friendly as soon as you walk in the door. For a Hoboken "locals" place that can tend to be very crowded on any given night and make you feel uncomfortable when you're just trying to have a relaxing night, you don't get the weird intimidation feel that you'd see at other bars/restaurants in this city (everyone staring as if you just walked in on someone's private party). Thank you guys for making me feel right at home in Uptown Hoboken for a great meal always!

THE WINGS. Hands down best wings in all of Hoboken. The brunch on the weekends is a great. I love heading over for a game at the bar!

Eat: pasties (meat and potatoes in a pastry with amazing gravy), wings Good bar food, good service, and very reasonably priced! What's not to like? Plus, there's not much else in tbe neighborhood. Perfect dinner spot for before or after the movies.

Been going to carpe diem regularly over the past 12 years and it's always been consistent and great. Always a fan of the wings, burgers, or even just a beer to enjoy the vibe. But have you had the blueberry pancakes for brunch?? Omg.

We did not have dinner here but would highly recommend for a private party! We had a private party upstairs for my friend & it was $60 a person for a 3 hr open bar including high noons & liquor. The bartender was very nice and the wings were fabulous!

Been here a couple of times now, love this place. It has the feel of a cozy pub when you enter, there is a back dining room with TVs for sports fans (there are TVs over the bar as well, of course). The wait staff and bartenders are friendly and attentive, the beer selection is excellent. I recommend the shepherd's pie or burgers, both were phenomenal. It's a small place and gets crowded quickly, especially on weekends, so go early if you need a table. I can't wait to return!

Came here for brunch with a few friends last weekend, as this was one of the few places nearby that had an outdoor/patio table available with an awning/covering when we called ahead. Despite the rainy weather, they had heaters set up and it was just overall just a cozy, relaxing place to have some drinks and good food. The menu has a lot of traditional American and Irish pub food, but there are still a lot of different options. I decided to go with the Gourmet Grilled Cheese (which was really good!) and my two friends loved their California Burger and Egg White Omelette as well. Portions were generous, and service was great too.

On a trip with my daughter, saw pictures of food on maps ,called for reservations, told them 3 pretty girls were starving,they say see you in a few ,arrived in minutes, to be greeted with friendly ppl and food was delicious, service fast and awesome our waiter "D" took very good care of us , very attentive and personable being from Buffalo, I never eat wings anywhere else, but when I saw the trophy,I said I would try next time I visited, we had a great time, portions were good we took a lot back to the hotel!

Have visited Carpe Diem on a couple of occasions, on a weekday daytime is a great cozy pub. On an evening, the relatively small bar area is transformed into a distractingly, noisy mess with tv screens all over the place. Carpe Diem, is a welcoming pub without the TVs and music during the day. Currently it's almost as if a frat boy moved into their grandparents living room. On a weekend afternoon, a different staff, different atmosphere and loud music "has to be on at this volume, it's one of our rules, sorry." 95 decibels of loud pop music, with five couples or small groups trying to hold a conversation or watch football. Typical bar food was average and bar staff believe they "have no amber beers." Have ordered wings from here before and they were excellent. Not sure why there isn't a comfortable, welcoming, relaxing bar in Hoboken. Being a shouty, loud fratboy-focused TV space doesn't appeal to me sadly.

It's a great place and I keep coming back there, just like last night. I am also in mission to work and improve cocktails all over the world and my baseline is Margarita. I fly to Mexico frequently to calibrate myself. I have been there every month since May 2019, but traveling there since May 2018. The Margarita did not seem to be using mixers so great points right there. However it felt a bit too sour in way it seem it could use a bit more flavors to make it more sweet. Size: small bar (area) but there are more table space in separate areas so overall medium size.

Went for Dinner Food - 5/5. The coconut shrimp has huge flakes of coconut that give flavor and crispy bites. The shrimp itself has the perfect shrimp texture and goes really well with the sweet chili sauce. Southwest Chicken Rolls are probably the best thing on their menu that everyone should try when they visit! The amazing blend of chicken, southwest vegetables, beans and cheese wrapped in a fried thick egg roll skin dipped into the zingy chipotle mayo is the most wonderful western-style egg roll experience. Everyone should get their own! Service - 4/5. The staff here are friendly and easy to speak to; the kind of staff you want at a bar! Value - 5/5. The price is pretty above average in all fairness but the food is absolutely delicious and well worth the price. The menu has a good variety of options but the southwest chicken rolls alone are a good enough reason to visit. Parking - Street (Metered)

Love this place. Cozy dining and bar areas, friendly staff, great food. Mushroom soup is the best we've had. Our go-to local spot.
