Carpenters Cafe & Catering

I stumbled upon this hidden gem on Yelp. Initially, I was a bit taken aback when I entered. There was no one to greet me, and the restaurant was devoid of customers. However, the hostess emerged from the back with a cheerful and jovial demeanor. I perused the menu and decided to indulge in the Big Ass BLT. To my delight, the bacon was generous and not stingy at all. The bread was toasted to perfection, holding up well as I savored each bite of my BLT. Accompanying my sandwich was a side of pan-fried potatoes and onions. If I had known how delectable they were, I would have ordered a double portion. The only reason I gave this restaurant a 4-star rating is because the interior was freezing cold. It made it challenging to relax in such a great atmosphere. The potatoes were absolutely incredible—freshly cooked and thoroughly prepared. They had been in the oven for about 30 minutes. I would have ordered some to go, but I didn’t want to wait that long.

This homemade grilled cheese sandwich is everything you didn’t know you needed. Made with thick, house-baked bread that falls somewhere between Texas toast and a buttery, herby biscuit, every bite is rich, golden, and satisfyingly crisp on the outside while pillowy inside. The cheese melts perfectly, stretching with every pull. Pair it with the cucumber mint chiller lemonade—a must-have. It’s cool, refreshing, and balances the richness of the sandwich with just the right touch of herbal brightness. And don’t skip the fries! These flat, golden beauties resemble classic steak fries but deliver a perfect crisp that keeps you reaching back for more. It’s the kind of meal that feels indulgent yet homemade—with real heart in every bite.

I didn’t get any photos on my first visit as we tore into the delicious offerings without documentation. The $16 salad is pricy but massive and can be shared. The Kickin’ Chicken was ordered again on my 2nd visit as it was superb! Don’t forget to grab an in-house-baked sweet treat to have with coffee tomorrow morning!

Carpenters is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and service is top notch. A warm family atmosphere. Enjoyed brunch on the well shaded patio.

If you are looking for a space that not only feeds you excellent food, but also feeds your soul with the atmosphere and vibe! Carpenters is a total vibe! The food is top tier, the atmosphere is feel good, and the service is outstanding! I’m a regular for breakfast, and my fave is the Morning Chick! Delicious! Oh yeah, you gotta try the 2 piece catfish plate and the catfish Po boy! The greens, the yams, and Mac and Cheese is to die for! It taste like good down home food! Come by and check it out. Trust me you won’t regret it!

I came into town for a business meeting at TCU and mentioned to a colleague that I was starving. Without hesitation, they pointed me to Carp’s Cafe, calling it one of the best restaurants in town — and now I know why. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and welcoming, and the environment felt relaxed but lively — the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home. But the real star of the show was the food. I ordered the fried catfish plate with what I believe were collard greens and sweet potatoes — and let me tell you, it was out of this world. Every bite felt like something I’d never tasted before — flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with love. The catfish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the sides balanced the dish beautifully. If you’re ever in the Fort Worth area, do not miss this gem. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Came to have a delicious lunch here with my daughter. Such a relaxing vibe with good music and an amazing staff. I’ll definitely be back and if you’re in the area, make sure you stop by!

My first time there and the service was great with smiles! The catfish was cooked to perfection and you can’t beat amazing sweet potatoes. I loved that the collared greens weee cooked without pork! Overall amazing experience and the restaurant has a very nice vibe! I met the owner and she is the real deal!!!! Katrina Rocks!

AH-mazing find. Had no idea, but popped in during Black History month and this entire restaurant checked off all my lists. Amazing service: kind, personable, hospitable Amazing food: A++++ cheese burger + the wedged fries mmHmmm + the sweet tea Atmosphere: Check +++, I shazam'd and shared 3+ songs on my Instagram. Lol, really had a great time venturing into this part of FW for a quick, delicious, and wholesome lunch 10/10

I found this place kinda randomly, and I love it! They do have a super small menu, but that is because they have only recently started serving lunch. I got turkey avocado club, and it was very, very good. The owner is very friendly and even came out to check if we needed anything. The space is small, but it has a very modern feel period they also have a small outside patio, which, you know how us Texans love to sit outside when the weather is nice! I look forward to going back.

I will start out by saying this place is ADORABLE. A business colleague and I stopped in for some lunch last week and this is a true gem. The decor is very nice and the service quite exceptional. We had the mint lemonade, shared the Asian zing nachos, each had a bowl of chicken and dumplings and shared the bread pudding. All of it was quite delicious. The chicken and dumplings--cannot speak highly enough of this one! So. Dang. Good! Honestly, the only thing I was disappointed in was the price of the lemonade. I ordered two more to go and it cost me $14! $14 for TWO lemonades--that is quite extreme to me. I paid it because what else was I going to do after I asked for it, but that should have been the price for 4, not two!! I won't order the lemonade again at that cost. Otherwise, I do recommend the lunch here!

I was in the neighborhood and stopped in for a quick bite here. It was pretty busy when I walked in but I didn't have to wait too long. I wanted to get the chili but unfortunately they didn't have any so I opted for the turkey club. The sandwich was pretty good, nothing anything special but it did hit the spot and I would like to come back to try the chili sometime. I think this place is more of a catering type of business but you can stop in for some food.

I have had their food through their catering service and was so excited to hear the restaurant was open! I've taken friends with me to show off how amazing their food is! MUST have the smoke chicken salad! Top it off with their chunky chocolate gigantic cookies! I always have to take cookies back to the employees at work! Most importantly, Carpenters is a local, family-owned restaurant. I have never gone in without being greeted by either Katrina or Travis!

Nice place, sat outside. Good bacon in the BLT, bread was outstanding too. Brisket fries would have been plenty for lunch.

Excellent Service, Food, and Desserts! Prompt Service after placing your order. Parking available on side of business. Nice and quaint inside with a few tables and chairs for quick dining.

What a great place for lunch near the medical district. The staff was friendly and prompt, and the food is plentiful and super delicious. I'm so glad I found it and I know I'll be back.

You can't beat it. Locally owned and operated by Katrina and her husband, Travis. I've never walked away without being happy with the food, the crew, and I usually meet someone new and interesting.

This place was unreal! I got the Southern slapped garden salad and the flavor depth was amazing. The portion is perfect size and doesn't leave you feeling too full. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also DEF get a cookie.

Wow! I'm thankful that this place is part of Fort Worth Burger week or I might not have seen them. We Ordered the special burger featured this week- The Mean Green Fouxger and a trio salad. The burger features a beyond burger with the most refreshing micro greens I've ever had. The trio salad we got a house salad, fruit salad, and their famous smoked chicken salad. The chicken salad was perfect. Pleasantly surprised that the fruit salad was not the standard cantaloupe and honeydew but rather strawberries, watermelon, and grapes. We will be back!

What can I say this place has the best salads and chicken salads I've ever had, customer service is totally awesome I highly recommend them. They have three unique chicken salad flavors you can't find nowhere, homemade absolutely the best. Get ready for your taste buds to be totally blown away absolutely exceptional flavor and seasonings makes this chicken salad very unique.

Carpenter's took care of our catering for an event and not only was the food and presentation absolutely gorgeous, it was delicious! So much so, I went for lunch today!! Definitely try the smoked turkey Caesar for lunch and they're the ones to call If you need catering! Spinach artichoke dip was the beat I've had and don't forget the pound cake!!

Got to eat here for lunch and loved it. Had Tasha's Toast and Lavender Honey sweet tea. Both were delicious! The woman waiting on us was kind enough to also off us a sample of their chicken salad, and I definitely want to order that next time! The staff wore masks, and I appreciated the outdoor seating. Definitely recommend!

Brisket fries. They were so good. Love the bbq sauce and other toppings that was on the fries. I will definitely be back.

Get the SMOKED CHICKEN!!!!! I had them cater our concert tour show last year and everyone from the band & dancers to the crew loved it. S/O Travis & Katrina for an incredible experience!!

Stopped by Carps Cafe to try the infamous " Smokey Chick" chicken salad. The taste was really good, chicken has a Smokey taste which makes this different from most chicken salad. My only wish would've been adding eggs to my chicken salad ( I didn't read the menu) which is why I gave it a "4" rating but overall this is a must try if you visit Carpenters Cafe.

I stopped by here on the recommendation of a bud of mine. I ordered to special of the day which was the chicken pot pie. I was not disappointed as this was homemade down to the crust. The broth was light and delicious. The veggies and chicken were tender and seasoned properly. I will have to make another stop by here to sample more of what they have.

Went to the FOOD TRUCK of theirs today at the Kimbal Museum and I am beyond disappointed at the customer service. Never even got to try the food and I had to get a refund. Waited for almost 40 minutes just to watch 4 people who ordered 10-15 minutes after me get their order. My order must have been lost, no big deal but I needed to leave. I asked for a refund because of the wait just to be meet with attitude as if im the bad guy for asking for my money back. No apology, no explanation, nothing

This little place packs a delicious meal. The brisket fries were amazing and the the Bad Ass BLT is to die for. This is a definite go to spot to eat by the hospitals.

First time in. Had the BLT and my wife had a Wrap. We both got dessert - Banana Pudding and Bread Pudding. Everything is awesome. Great ingredients, great service. Thanks for being awesome!

We picked up food to go eat in a park - everything was amazing. The chicken sandwich was excellent, and the smoky chicken salad is really special. I can't wait to come back and try the fries with brisket. One of my new favorites in Fort Worth.
