Poor service altogether. We had to wait a ridiculous amount of time before someone came to assist us at the self-checkout till. The language at the self-checkout machine was half English, half Polish, so we couldn't continue the purchasing process. Instead of helping, the staff said something which we could not understand and promptly left us. After a few more minutes without receiving any help, we had to leave all the groceries where they were and just left the store.
Unfortunately most reviews complaining about customer care are correct. And I blame Carrefour for this, as when workers are this unmotivated it is almost always a sign of poor pay, lack of control over tasks, poor company management, or a combination thereof. If one looks at this company's history one can easily notice all of those issues across all countries in Europe where it operates. Worker-owned companies are the answer, should anyone wonder what the solution is.
