The Best Bars in Birmingham, Alabama | Eater Atlanta

"Carrigan’s is a local favorite for good reasons: it’s dependable and has a great atmosphere, and their drink and dining options are solid. Both the roof and the interior provide ample space for events or groups that just want to take advantage of a good happy hour. Carrigan’s is also one of the best bets for late-night food—specifically, corn dogs with a cult following and toppings like “hipster ranch,” guajillo ketchup, cotija cheese, and cilantro. Their beer garden on 6th Ave. is also worth a visit." - Sarra Sedghi

Cool place! This place has real potential . It has the makings of the great bar and restaurant! Floors were sticky, a little dirty, employees were scrambling after they opened to get ready , and no one comes to your table to wait on you . You have to walk to the bar to order your food and drinks , and pick up your drinks. They will bring your food. Staff is luke warm at best. We were the only customers there and drove all the way here to eat at the rooftop bar but staff was “alone” and didn’t want to help us up there . The second customer came in 35 minutes after opening. They were close to a 5 star review with a helpful tentative staff that waits on you and looks out for your needs . Imagine if the place was packed !😥Food was ok

Google
Decent atmosphere. Bar tenders were helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. The only shortcoming I noticed for service was where you get the water in front of the bar had several glasses with lip stains on them, which heavily implied they weren't cleaned or not cleaned well enough.

Met some friends here for late lunch (1pm) who came from out of state to see DMB at the new amphitheater. We had the ultimate pleasure of having Jade as our bartender. 10/10 for drink recommendations. Whether if it’s off the menu or one of his own creations…Drink it!! So good. 10/10 for food. We destroyed the Salmon Dip. Ordered the cauliflower burger but they were out of cauliflower. Jade being a super cool guy and a vegan, recommended substituting the hot honey veggies for the cauliflower and it was amazing. We ate all of our veggies!! Loved the atmosphere. Thank you Jade for making our first time at Carrigan’s such a great time. ✌️❤️

Google
We had a nice time and a nice dinner. It was a group of seven of us. The food was good and the service was wonderful. Our bartender, Chris made sure that we all had just what we needed to enjoy the evening. He made some recommendations for local beers and even made an espresso for one in our party. There was a private event upstairs the night we were there, so I’m not sure if it was blocking the elevator, or if they just don’t have an elevator that goes to the roof, but we had a mobility challenged person, so none of us went up to the roof top. Inside outside and rooftop options really helps at this place apart and if you’re trying to beat that Alabama heat, the AC was ice cold on the inside.

Google
I can't say how many times I've been to Carrigan's, but it's more than 20. I keep going back because they haven't failed to serve up excellent food and drinks. This time we got the salmon salad - so very good - and the smoked pork nachos which were every bit as yummy. Large portions too. The cocktails are really good too. Carrigan's is a long-time and current favorite spot in the city.

Google
This is definitely one of those places where I would only go if a friend wanted to go. Esthetically pleasing & cute vibes. Even the food “looks” pretty/ presentable. However, the food was super plain. Not very good flavor at all. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re wanting good food.

Google
Carrigan’s is awesome! They have plenty of outdoor and rooftop seating options as well as inside. You order right from your table by scanning a QR code with your phone. Our drinks were brought to our table faster than we could have went to get them. The service was great and the employees were all super friendly. The cocktails were great and appetizers we ordered were awesome as well. Free parking in large surface lot located nearby. FYI This location is 21+

Google
Carrigan's is my new favorite hangout! Went with a group and it didn't slow them down a bit, plus they have so many great cocktail options it was hard to stop. The food was also top notch. I really enjoyed the Falafel Gyro and everyone else's selections looked good as well. A huge plus is that they have dedicated parking so you don't have to drive around all over looking for a spot. Absolutely can't wait to return.

Yelp
Good place for either a solo meal or with a group of friends. Three appetizers were definitely large enough to share amongst our group of six people. Food was prepared and delivered to our table in a timely manner.

Yelp
Cardigan's was a cool late night place to grab a bite. BHAM shuts down so early and there are practically no late night spots to eat, so Carrigan's kitchen remaining open until 11p was the best. Not only did they stay open long enough to order food, but the food was tasty. I had a grilled chicken and Caesar salad-- it was fresh and the dressing was just right. The hubs had a double burger that was great. The fries were perfectly cooked with a light crunch. The meal was on point for what we were looking for. Service: good and quick. If you want a quick late night bite, this is the place! Note: upon entrance, the guy at the security station was completely unprofessional, rude, and did not show up well as the first personality that one encounters before entrance. Also, being that I had never been there before, there were no directions on how to order food, where to sit, etc. they need to change that and make the entrance more inviting. Other that, it was cool.

Yelp
Definitely wish we would've gone elsewhere. The service, drinks, and food were all equally disappointing. It was nice sitting on the rooftop and being able to have our dog. Downside is you have to go downstairs and inside to order at the bar. This was kind of confusing When at the bar, I was greeted and helped by one of the least friendly workers ever. She seemed very uninterested in doing her job. I also noticed my ticket said "well gin" for my $13 specialty cocktail, which was surprising. I got a drink called The Illusion. Not my fav. Nothing special. I also got the kale salad since I saw so many good reviews. This was so bad. Both my drink and my salad were things I didn't finish, and they felt like a total waste of money. The kale in the salad was very tough and overly bitter/pungent, and the romaine pieces were all the crunchy bits that did not look fresh. The dressing was okay but minimal. Our dog appreciated the croutons I fed her lol. All in all, major fail!

Yelp
Carrigans is a big, spacious restaurant on Morris avenue with a bunch of fab outdoor seating options. There's also plenty of seating inside, with booth, bar, and table options. They also have some old school arcade games to enjoy. While they're corndogs are pretty popular, I'm also a fan of their kale salad and most recently the sliders. Their fries are also thick with a nice amount of salt. The bartenders can give you good drink recommendations that pair well with the menu options. Its a nice spot to have a lunch meeting or catch up with friends.

Yelp
First time coming here and I came here with a group of friends. It is off in the cut but it's in a great location near other business. The venue is spacious with lots of seating. The food and drinks are good too. The service is also pretty fast.

Yelp
Perfect for happy hour starting at 4pm where old fashioneds $5! Also have a good selection of beers on tap and available in bottles and cans. Appetizers and entrees are excellent as well. Recently came here after getting off early on a workday. Enjoyed a cocktail and braised short rib sliders and fries followed by the $5 old fashioned. The sliders were outstanding and so good! Would highly recommend for all! Will be back again soon for happy hour!

Yelp
WHISKEY BUSINESS! Birmingham has tons of great bars, gastropubs, and food establishments. Every time I go out I am realizing there is so much more for me to experience. It seems to me that some of the best places are right under my nose (haha). Carrigan's is located towards the end of Morris Ave. To me Morris Ave is very historic and classing looking. With cobble stone roads and small businesses that are hidden gems to say the least. I honestly would have never known that Carrigan's existed if it was not for a fellow yelp friend. Came here with a fellow Yelp friend. I had not been here before, but was excited to try something new. The move for the evening was appetizers and drinks. Nothing too filing, but nothing too small either. When you first come inside there is a laminated sheet on the bar and the tables where you can scan the QR code. On the QR code there is a link to their entire menu lunch, dinner, drinks etc. As far as drinks are concerned, they have some of the most innovative drinks I think I have ever had. And that is quite a BIG statement. When I saw that they had a dreamcicle cocktail, that was it for me. I did not look at any other drinks on the menu it was going to be that one specifically, not saying their other drinks did not look as enticing, as they did but come on a dreamcisle cocktail... After ordering, I watched in pure amazement as the bartenders made my cocktail right in front of me. Pouring a little of this, and a little of that, a slash of this too. When the cocktail was placed in front of me I was astonished. It not only had the same color and scent as the classic childhood treat, but also tasted just as I remembered it as a child... well minus the alcohol. For food, my friend and I both got an appetizer each and split them both. I got the chips and queso and he got the french fries with home sauces. I have to applaud Carrigans as their food presentation was on point. The chips and queso arrived on a half sheet tray with chips scattered around and the queso ever so slightly placed directly in the middle. When I took my first bite, man did the flavors explode in my mouth. The saltiness of the chips created quite the contradiction with creaminess and subtle hint of spice from the queso. Absolutely delicious. he french fries came on a sheet try as well. They were placed in a bowl instead of directly on the pan. There were three different sauces that went with the fries and were all made in house. My overall experience was fantastic. The people were fun and engaging, the food not only was presented well on the plate but was delicious to eat and the drinks were some of the best and most innovative. I will be back for sure for more fun times, entertaining conversations and overall fantastic experiences here.

Yelp
Didn't even get a chance to eat here because they closed early even after we called to confirm.

Yelp
Cute local pub. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining, bar seating and a roof! Also appeared to have a private room. Stopped by on a Friday afternoon. We enjoyed the French fries and tacos as well as cocktails. Service was great and attentive. There's also a daily happy hour/specials menu. When we were there house shots were $3.

Yelp
We found this place after a baseball game. I truly cannot wait to go back again. The environment is wonderful for a big group of people, a special occasion, date, or just a meal by yourself to sit back and people watch. The bar staff were great! I cannot say enough about the food! That corndog was the whole reason we went there. The lamb sliders were very good. However, they were lacking in something. Maybe it was just because I had just tried the corn dog

Yelp
Carrigan's was such a great experience and I went with a fellow Yelp Elite too! We had a orange creamsicle drink, think Stewart's orange cream drink you get at Cracker Barrel or one of those popsicles. It was delicious and very nostalgic too! I also had what I would call a proper whisky sour where they put a egg white in the drink which gives the drink a nice creamy foamy head like a beer. The French fries we had were delicious! The bartenders we had were very informative about their drinks, kind, and friendly too.

Yelp
A staple restaurant in Birmingham with good drinks, and good vibes! Make sure to also take advantage of their specials! On Mondays you can grab a PBJ (pizza beer and Jameson shot) and on Wednesday you can grab a half off bottle of wine. There's probably some other deals but those are the two I know of All of their food is good - like you just can't go wrong. My only thing is I wish the Kale salad was more reasonably priced or had a bigger portion of kale. Even with just falafel on it, it's $15 and it's not that big.
google avatar

Noah S.

Yelp
Eaten here twice now, both with work groups. The margaritas are good as are their various kale salads
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorites, especially if you want a bite. The corn dog and fries are definitely winners. The fries are cooked to crispy and come with good sauces.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite lunch spot for salmon salad Went two days this week.... Greeting was almost non existent... I wasn't offered a menu Wasn't offered a drink while I waited Not very friendly The bar tender Chris or Charles acted like he didn't want to be there & acted like he was doing me a favor just to take my order So ..... yeah

Yelp
TLDR: Very good atmosphere and would go back many times (if a local). I visited Carrigan's based on internet rec. / searches and reviews. I got boiled peanuts as the app ( not very spicy which is good for me) ordered a vodka drink and chatted with the staff while eating. I must say I was dressed for warmth and to go to the Nick to see a concert. I certainly was not dressed as nice as others but I was treated so well. Also to note I was paying cash, no card for a bar tab so again not the norm. I was again treated so well. There were 3 female bartenders and each of them checked in, chatted, and offered other city suggestions for the rest of my stay. I ordered the corn dog and fries, plenty of food for me. I am not a corn dog expert but this one was pretty good with all of the stuff on it. There is a large TV on one side of the bar and pinball games on the other side. They have tables/booths as well and possibly an upstairs ( I didn't check this out). I just really loved how kind everyone was regardless of how I looked.

Yelp
Stopped by for a few beers and dinner. Ordered the fish and chips and boiled peanuts. Kudo's on the boiled peanuts, they are awesome. The fish was good, would have been better if tartar sauce was available. The French fries were mediocre. Bar tenders were good, could use a few more to cover the crowd. A master class on how to properly pour a Guiness is in order.

Yelp
I like the service the staff knows the menu and will fix you up with what's on your mind
google avatar

Yelp
This was a really chill place, sort of like a bar. The service was great. You walk up to the bar to order and they bring you your food. Theres also not a lot on the menu, this was my first time here so idk if Covid changed things. But my second time trying barria tacos and these were really good. The sour cream and green sauce really made the tacos more than dipping it in the oil mixture.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Unfortunately, a subpar visit tonight. I think that many of my issues (but not all) here tonight are attributed to them scaling things back due to Covid. There was no staff at the door when I entered and I just kind of wandered around the restaurant until I asked one of the bartenders if I could sit at the bar, which he replied I could. The QR code they had for the menu was not working properly at first. Their menu was very limited on food items as well as draft beer, so not much selection on either. I went with the Catfish tacos and an order of the appetizer fries. Fries were good as usual, the catfish tacos were marginal. The catfish fillets themselves were so thin that they were basically crispy catfish jerky. Sitting at the bar near the open kitchen was not fun either as there was constant banter and cussing from the guys working in the back of the kitchen.

Yelp
The bourbon/coke slushie was exquisite and the burger was beautifully seasoned. We very much enjoyed the vibe and ambiance as well. Excellent choice for a quick bite!

Yelp
Wife and I went for a date night. We got good drinks and good food. Service was nice and helpful. Carrigan's Public House is one of the best restaurants/bars in Birmingham!

Yelp
I will never have an unkind word for Carrigan's... I met my husband at this place for the very first time, on a blind date. That was 7 years ago! The food was good, the drinks were strong, and we lived happily ever after.

Yelp
This was our first stop in Birmingham. Had great tacos, great drinks, and a great atmosphere

Yelp
Me and wife was in town for the weekend and after we ate came down to Carrigans for a drink. I've always heard great things about this place and wanted to check it out. The ambiance was pretty cool but I think the rooftop was closed which I really wanted to check out but all in all it was a great experience.

Yelp
It's a bar. It's clean. Parking is easy and free (and in this part of town, that's saying something.) The restroom wall wisdom is on point. The Apparition was tasty and refreshing. Ambiance is easy and fun. So five stars, right? I wish. I ordered the hot chicken nachos. Go for drinks ~ not for the food. The nachos were greasy; the chicken looked pretty, but was over cooked and stringy. They were okay, but I'll not order them again. The chicken left a puddle of grease under the chips. Ick! Ordering is on your phone ~ payment is on your phone. The only time you see waitstaff is when they drop your food or drinks off. Efficient, yes, but heaven forbid you make a request! We asked our fast-moving waiter for some water. He said, and I quote, "There's a water station inside." What are we, puppies?! We ate outside at stone tables. Unfortunately I tipped my glass. When it hit the table ~ bad news! Shattered! MUCH later, fast-moving waiter noted the broken glass, picked it up, admonished us not to touch anything, and said he would be back in a second to clean up the glass. Not so ~ we never saw him again. Drinks are good. Ambiance is good ~ but when that oh-so-efficient phone app asked how much we wanted to tip our non-existent service staff? Not much! Granted, I'm in a demographic that expects to at least see, and perhaps receive things like having an order taken, questions answered about drinks or menu items, and maybe even have a glass of water delivered to our table from waitstaff. The app helpfully suggests a 20% minimum tip. I wish I had gotten 20% of minimal service. I'll leave 20% of stars...
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in town. I absolutely hated corn dogs before, but now that's the only thing I'll order at Carrigans. Repeat order for days of an Old Fashioned and a Corn dog
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
I really like Carrigan's but I have to call them out for what they call chili. It has celery and it's sweet with hints of clove and maybe apple butter. It's just odd. I honestly don't know who thought it was a good idea to unleash this on an unsuspecting public.

Yelp
Thanks to all of the FABULOUS Yelp reviews, Carrigan's was on my "must-do" list when visiting "B-Ham." Knowing I wouldn't have much time in the city, I booked an earlier flight just so I could be sure I had time to stop by Carrigan's. Unfortunately, the flight arrived late, so we rushed over to Carrigan's, but got there just as the kitchen was closing. Fortunately, however, the SUPER AWESOME staff were kind enough to accommodate us, & we were able to enjoy the great food, drinks, & cool, laid-back atmosphere that makes Carrigan's so well-known around town. They were very nice, & they didn't make us feel rushed at all. THANK YOU!!! :) We started with the Jalapeno Boiled Peanuts. They were super tasty, & I wish we had these in SoCal! Next, the Beets & Greens Salad with Ahi, which was just kinda average.... The burger was good, but I especially LOVED the "Wickles Pickes." I will be looking for these in SoCal to snack on. Finally, we had the one-the-only.......CORNDOG!!! Oh....my....goodness!!! I'm not a huge fan of corndogs, but this corndog was absolutely delicious! The hype is REAL!!! The coating, the sausage, the hipster ranch, the guajillo ketchup, the cotija cheese, the cilantro....all combined was like a sinfully delicious flavor explosion in your mouth! Incredible! Even the French Fries were great! Not sure how they accomplished this feat, but these were probably the best French Fries I've had in a very long time. Overall, Carrigan's was a great experience & a wonderful way to welcome me to the City of Birmingham!

Yelp
So there are some very strong positives with this place that outweigh any negatives. I'll start off with the positives. The location was very cool. It's a great gastropub with indoor and outdoor seating with a cool vibe. It wasn't until I was leaving that I saw there was an upstairs! I didn't check it out but it seemed to be happening up there. My mac n cheese was amazing and super creamy. I like to think I'm a mac n cheese connoisseur and I'd give it a solid 4/5. Only reason it's not a 5/5 is because I save those for when I'll go back to a place solely for the mac n cheese and crave it. It's a great option that you definitely need to try though. I also had the corn dog and brussel sprouts. I got the ketchup on the side because the bartender said it had a kick to it, it did not. Could've had it on there. It was extremely tasty and a cool twist on a fair staple. The brussel sprouts are fried and extremely crunchy. I loved the one bite I took but I'll get to that later. I got the Southern Culture drink which was super good and refreshing but forgot to get a pic of it, the bartenders are very good at their jobs. Now for the negatives. The corn dog was only warm, especially compared to the other food but tasted good enough to ignore and imagine how good it is when hot. Now the brussel sprouts... I asked them to describe the brussels and they said they were plain but really crunchy from being fried. When I tasted them, there was a crunch but was also sweet. I immediately knew there was some type of glaze that they didn't describe. It was a honey glaze and I am allergic to honey so that was not fun. Thankfully I didn't get enough to cause too much of an issue. But it's very dangerous to leave out information. No, I didn't say I had an allergy, but I did ask her to describe the dish and it wasn't done well obviously. The bartender was very quick to remove it from the bill though which was nice. The queso, I haven't mentioned yet which is crazy. I've never said this in my life but SKIP THE QUESO. It's gross and I've never not scraped the bowl free of cheese but I barely touched it. It tasted like a vegan queso my friend said. To me it tasted like if you mixed queso and hummus in equal parts. And it was just gross. Super weird consistency. My last issue with this place is the service. We order everything at the bar, it's dropped off to you and then anything you need you go back up to the bar. As a previous server, I never tip less than 20% but that's all I could do here and nothing more. I was a little annoyed at that too because I wasn't getting served and I really just wanted to tip on the drink service. What's worse is they actually put percentages for a 50% tip on your tab. WHAT?! They don't do anything! All in all I would come back again. Besides the one issue with the allergy and the expectations for a 50% tip, it was a great place for dinner and drinks.

Leonor S.

Yelp
Food was good and the service was awesome! The bartenders need some customer service training. I ordered a margarita and they don't have the tequila that I asked for SO they make a recommendation....BUT didn't tell me that it would cost me $25 for a drink! We were celebrating my sisters birthday and out with a group that was spending money on drinks. But the cost of our ONE drink left a bad taste (no pun intended) after having to pay that much for a drink! NEXT!!

Yelp
I have been to CPH twice and honestly I really didn't care for either experience. First visit (several years ago) , I ordered the corn dog/ fries which is like one of their staple dishes . Wasn't crazy about it - just lacked flavor to me. ( too greasy/ lacked freshness) The fries have a really greasy thing going on with them and rarely is there a fry I don't like . So one star for that visit . Second visit , yesterday . Went after work to meet up with some girl friends to catch up and unwind a little bit. I arrived last so my friends had already ordered and were seated outside . The best part about this entire establishment is the outdoor seating ! It's definitely one of the best outdoor / patio areas in town. Guess that's worth one more star but nope! Nope bc the servers allowed my friend to place an order food/ wine without saying one word about their no children allowed policy . How on earth did you miss the 11 month old during the ordering process! As a favor , we were allowed to finish our food and drinks but was nicely kicked out! Apparently there's a NO CHILDREN ALLOWED sign posted but I missed it - we all did. Oh well . Back to the food review - I ordered the loaded fries. They were beautiful to photograph (see pic) but again lacking taste to me. I am guessing that the greasy fries are a norm. I will say that the portion sizes are generous. Too bad no one wanted any of and I didn't bother getting a to go box. Pros- good place to take photos - Morris Ave is really pretty. Patio seating is exceptional There's a parking lot directly in front of the restaurant. Adequate lighting outside . Cons- indoors is dark , odd setup for placing orders, vibe is off in contrast to the decor. 2.5 stars (overall )

Yelp
Drinks were great and the rooftop is a great hangout with friends. I was not a fan of ordering by scanning the QR code.

Yelp
Carrigan's is my go to date night spot. It's usually a nice crowd, good ambiance with great drinks and food! The Caesar dressing for the kale salad is homemade and worth getting extra just because, the chili pairs perfectly. I love the outside seating during the summer and fall with a group of friends as well.

Dianne R.

Yelp
The ambiance was cool. The food was ok. No real wait staff, had to go up to the bar to order drinks and food. I know it's a beer place but very limited on alcohol. What alcohol they did have was "call brand", low quality. I can usually drink about anything, but they didn't have anything I wanted to drink. Glad I tried it, but probably won't go back.

James N.

Yelp
Two sentences for this .... "Irish" pub ... * No fish & chips disgraceful * Hip hop music to greet customers arriving at an "Irish" .... umm pub. * No tvs on with soccer match or golf on. Soooo in short, kinda felt unwanted so we left.

Yelp
It's cool. The location and outside seating is great. Dog friendly. Food is not the best. Would go to only drink

Yelp
service at the bar was horrible. bartender was rude and disrespectful. not to mention super slow service.

Yelp
First time here. After the show it's the after party. The atmosphere was amazing. The place is very nice and chill. I had heard hours before that you can't come here and here and not get the corndog so thats the first thing we did lol. The bartenders are geniuses. I couldn't decide what to get so the bartender asked me what I liked and said okay I'll be back and comes over with very visually appealing drink and calls it the Pain Killer. Oh boy was it delicious. It's a great meeting spot for friends and I heard that their weekend crowd is seriously thick but I can't wait to come back here with my friends and family for drinks and to try more food. The corndog was delicious but the toppings is what made me sing. It was topped like Mexican street corn almost but up a couple notches. Omg. It was yummy. We killed it. Their fries were also delicious and cooked perfectly.

Yelp
I met a friend here for drinks and to wind down after work. This is my second time here. Unfortunately, my first visit was clouded by overcrowding. We didn't even get a chance to order. This time I ordered the loaded fries. They were covered with oxtail chili, gouda, hipster ranch, jalapeño. They were delicious and so full of flavor. Who knew oxtail chili could taste so good. I ordered a drink from the menu, but I can't remember what it was. However, I do remember ordering a grapefruit juice, soda water, and Tito's with a sugared rim. It was light and refreshing. I'll definitely order this again. It was pretty empty when I arrived, but as the evening progressed the crowd grew. I left before dark so I can't really speak to the night time crowd.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Cariggans in the past so I decided to grab a drink and dinner. I'm aware that Covid19 effects the way a business is usually ran but tonight was different. I show up and it's closing time so I know I can't order anything. The doors were open so I walked in just to find out if I could make plans to bring my friends tomorrow night (9/12). When I approached the bar I noticed everyone hanging out besides one young man sweeping the floor. I asked the white, black headed unkempted half-ass bearded worm who gave me such a pompous attitude that I will NEVER come back to this establishment ! Not worth it at all!!

Yelp
This was a trendy pub-fair pit stop after a busy day downtown Birmimgham. Enjoyed self-service kiosks to place your own order. Full bar was also available. Corn dog was top notch. Will return.

Yelp
Popped in to Carrigan's to get some small bites and really enjoy the atmosphere of this place every time. There is inside and outdoor seating. You also have the option to sit on the rooftop. They accommodate big parties or small and a ideal spot to meet up with friends because of how spacious it is and one of the few places in Birmingham with a rooftop. They have a wide selection of drinks to choose from so you have every reason to return back to try something new. Their menu is not as vast but they have iconic dishes like the Carrigan's Corn Dog. The few items they do have, they do them very well. Ordered the Roasted Carrot Hummus and Kung Pao Wings. The wings have crushed peanuts on them which were a nice touch but if you are not a fan you can opt out and it won't takeaway from the dish. These two dishes were plenty just as a meal or great as shareable appetizer for two. Really enjoyed our experience at this place and glad to have Carrigan's as a local staple.

Yelp
Great ambiance and setting for a large group, casual date night, or girls' night out. Tried the fish tacos, were a little dry and unflavorful even with the "spicy sauce"- would not recommend. Tried my friends' fries, and they were very crispy and good. The house cocktails were delish! Would highly recommend the blackberry patch for a sweet refreshing summer drink and the rosy disposition for something more tart.

Yelp
Classic Birmingham spot to meet for drinks and socializing with friends! Warehouse atmosphere but very trendy. Drinks were great! Bartenders were friendly.

Yelp
Needed a bite to eat before heading home and this place had good reviews so I had to stop by. Was there before 5 pm, so all service was at the bar with limited food options. Decor-cool industrial with a few pin ball machines. Bar had half of a vehicle on the wall. Service-ok, not friendly but also not rude. I'd expect nicer people in the restaurant industry. Food-Great! Burger was amazing exploding with flavor. Meet perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Ox tail chili was good, only good.

Yelp
The highlight of my meal was supposed to be the brisket Mac and cheese but it ended up being the side salad. I don't have many details but there were radishes, Goat cheese, carrot shavings, and pecans with what may have been a strawberry vinaigrette dressing. I'm not sure, but whatever it is you need to try it. Nice ambiance, lots of happy hour specials and a rooftop that is available for mostly large parties if I remember right. The Mac and cheese with brisket actually has the brisket cooked within instead of placed on top like some places. Very generous portion. It's an entree not a side, but could easily be split between two if ordering other items. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Possibly one of my new favorite places

Yelp
Carrigan's is a good place to take someone to see the bar scene. Patio area if you like to be outside. The drinks are ok.
