This vet practice is amazing, and I can’t recommend it enough. I moved to the area about a year ago and initially went to a different vet who gave me a bad vibe. When I switched to Carroll Gardens Vet Group, the difference was immediately clear—I knew I had made the right decision. They promptly identified a concerning tumor on my dog and scheduled the surgery within a week. I feel relieved knowing my dog is in the best hands as we navigate this health journey. I’m so grateful to have this practice in my neighborhood!

We love Carroll Gardens Vet! Everyone including vets, vet techs and front-desk administrators are lovely, and I never feel that I'm being pushed to get unnecessary care or procedures. The vet always explains my options and my dog's health thoroughly.

I’ve been going there for years. My dog has a long and detailed history of minor problems. I appreciate that no matter which doctor I book an appointment with they always come in up to date on her history. All the vets give good advice and I can trust when they recommend something it’s what they think is the best fit. I’ve never felt pressured to take more expensive options. Everyone working there is kind and helpful. They’re always happy to see my dog and manage to put her at ease during checkups.

The best Vet in Brooklyn, we brought our lovely cat Tommy who suffers from asthma and used to be a feral, they were so helpful and knowlegeable, a special thanks to Eileen, the best assistant ever! Please, follow Tommy and Ashley (The Bonded Pair) on Insta @ashley.and.tommy ✌🏻

I am beyond thankful for this practice and everyone at CG Vet. Dr. Draper is total excellence. The staff is warm, caring and exceptional. They are top tier in this field. After years of searching for a quality Vet in Brooklyn, we have been taking our kitty there for a handful of years- he’s had dental procedures, and recently a mass removed. We drive from Bayridge…. I can’t thank them enough. Highly Recc. !

We recently switched to this vet after moving to Red Hook, attracted by the clean facility, proximity, and seemingly caring staff. However, we were extremely disappointed with their inability to assist during a family emergency (death of a loved one) that causes us to have to leave the state abruptly. Our dog has epilepsy and requires life-saving medication twice a day. One of the prescriptions is a controlled substance, so even if we had time to refill it before leaving New York unexpectedly, state regulations prevent filling it any earlier than the day before it's due. When we needed a prescription refill out of state, they claimed it was impossible and that no New York vet could help, offering no solutions. This was false, as our former vet in Williamsburg promptly called in the prescription for us as they have many times before when we go out of state for a month in the summer or a month over the holidays. For a vet that charges $700 every six months for epilepsy care, their lack of effort or knowledge is unacceptable. We will be returning to our old vet, despite the 45-minute commute.

Niko arrived nervous, but left happy (even after getting his temperature checked). The vet staff was extremely friendly to both me and my boy. I'm so glad their office is located close to our apartment. I highly recommend them. They truly care!

Yelp
I made a next day appointment for my dog after calling a couple vets in the neighborhood. The exam fee is $100 for the visit with a $50 deposit for first timers. The entire experience was great as the vets were on time with their appointments and providing such care. We were provided two options, which is always nice to have. The prices are reasonable and never felt like they were being pushy about anything. The day after my dog's surgery, they called to check up on her. When my dog managed to remove her sutures early, I gave a call and they were helpful in guiding me what to do. Everyone has been friendly and caring, which is so important in any doctor. The results took awhile to get back until I called to check though, so wished I didn't wait around so long. Be proactive in making sure you have the information you need in a timely manner. Otherwise, glad to have found my dog's new vet.

Yelp
Words cannot adequately express our gratitude for and appreciation of the doctors and entire staff of Carroll Gardens Vet Group/The Garden Vet. There is a blend of intelligence, kindness, great patience, efficiency, expertise , compassion and communicativeness that is truly rare and to be treasured. They have our wholehearted endorsement and, it bears repeating, gratitude.

Yelp
Thank God for these people. My usual vet isn't open on Sundays and my poor little guy started limping last night and would not put any pressure on his hind leg. I called this morning and was able to get an appointment same day. Holly was extremely helpful in setting up my appointment and answering all my questions. She explained the COVID operating procedures very clearly so I knew what to expect when I arrived. When I got to the door, I called to let them know I was there and Holly came out right away. They took my little guy inside to examine him and Dr. Martinez called me to explain everything and didn't charge me until I understood the situation and gave my permission. She was extremely thorough in her explanation and answered all my questions. My dog Oren ended up having a luxating patella, which means his knee cap was out of place. Very common for small dogs, especially chihuahuas, and especially his age. She was able to put his knee back in place and make him more comfortable immediately by giving him an anti-inflammatory injection, along with a prescription for the next week. Best part is, they are running a special right now where first time visitors pay $10 for the exam - a huge help since I, like many people, are currently living on unemployment. These people really came through for me in my time of need.

Nadia V.

Yelp
Veterinarians are knowledgeable but you'll have to wait 3 weeks for any kind of appointment--even if your pet is really ill. Understaffed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend what was once a neighborhood gem.

Yelp
I can't praise these people enough! I'm very late with my review, but I have a senior dog who was suffering from pretty bad arthiritis. Someone suggested laser treatments & this vet offered them at a very decent price. My 14 year old who could barely walk runs now! I'm so thankful & they were so pleasant to deal with, I just wish I started working with them earlier. And the results are long term - I'm writing this review months later as I just watched my dog jump on the couch. He hasn't been able to jump on the couch for years. Thank you so, so, so much!!!!

Yelp
I have had a great experience with Carroll Gardens Veterinary Group. I had to bring my cat in for a visit during COVID and they were taking great precautions in order to keep the staff, customers, and pets safe. They are very communicative and take the time to explain what is going on and answer any questions. Very friendly and empathetic staff. Highly recommended!

Yelp
In my mind, this place is just about perfect. For the first time, I'm surprised to see they "only" have 4 stars because each time I have been (maybe 10 or so times, over the course of a few years) to this practice, my experience has been 5 star! They are undoubtedly the best vet clinic I have ever been to. I sincerely wish I could find a human doctor like one of these docs! Each time I have been there, I have always felt my pet was getting care I trusted in. They seem to only hire staff who are knowledgeable, empathic, AND approachable- from receptionists to techs to doctors. This makes any visit all the more pleasant. I'm not sure if this practice is owned or run by Dr.Mollica but my guess is that it might be, just in that her personal attitude, energy, and approach towards caring for our furry little creatures, while also putting the pet-owner at ease - that treatment is mirrored in the establishment as a whole. In particular, I find she proactively offers up information, without even needing to be asked very specific questions, because you may not know enough to ask! I think her ability to make you, as the owner, feel comfortable, enables better overall care for your animal. I have also seen Dr.Lyons who I think has a gentle and caring presence. I'm so used to rude human doctors so when Dr.Lyons has patiently listened to me go on in sort of a ramble, I feel guilty because I'm not accustomed to being given more than 5 minutes by doctors. I have never felt rushed or like I'm leaving without having my concerns addressed. The care feels very personalized. There is no way the staff can remember me when I have an appointment(I usually only need to come in 1-2 times a year) but I recognize them, because of how good my experience with them was. Another one of the many other positive qualities about this place is its organization and it's very smooth operating. If I need to make an appointment, it's always easy and reliable. They have even answered and given information & advice to me over email (shocked me because they dont bill you for that communication). Basically, this clinic feels like it is all about the animals and doing whatever it takes to keep them well, while still fully informing the owner and also providing them with options for optimal at-home care. In summary, this is the best place all around, not just because of the medical care but also the valuable warmth, compassion, and politeness of all staff!!!

Yelp
Dr. Erica Mollica saved my parrot's life. I recently moved to Brooklyn, and I didn't have a vet in the area. I was studying for the NY bar exam when I got severe food poisoning. In an attempt to try to study during this bought of "purging", I started taking some medications. I was very sick, and not paying appropriate attention, and my parrot managed to eat my medication. I called 5 vets before someone agreed to see my parrot on an emergency basis. Dr. Mollica agreed to see my bird, and I will be forever grateful. Time was of the essence, because as soon as the bird digested the medication, she would die. (I called animal poison control to determine the seriousness of the situation.) I showed up, and she saw my parrot right away. She removed the medication from my birds crop, put her on fluids, in an incubator, and kept her for observation. She was very, very kind to me. I was hysterical. I was very sick, stressed and certain my parrot would die. I appreciate her professionalism, especially given that I was such a mess. She gave me her honest assessment of the situation in heartfelt way, and she saved my little bird. I am forever grateful to her for saving my bird. I will certainly be back for regular checkups. She was a wonderful professional to work with, and this review is several months overdue. I would recommend her to anyone with a beloved pet.

Yelp
I only got to know Dr. McFadden for a few weeks before my 16 year old pup was peacefully assisted to puppy heaven, but she was by far the best vet we have ever been to. She cares so much and helped me through one of the hardest decisions and days of my life. When I first met her she asked what my goals were with my pappillon Nibbles, as he has lived well beyond the average age of a Papillon. I told her I just wanted to make him comfortable more than anything, so she was able to prescribe a few medications to help him feel more comfortable and to help with his pre-existing conditions. In addition she had the tough conversation with me about when I thought it was time for Nibbles to pass on to puppy heaven. I cried and so did she, but she just made the conversation so easy. I knew that I wanted to let him go before he felt any pain, but I also wanted him to live as long as possible. Dr McFadden was able to give me two more weeks with my baby feeling comfortable with the medications she prescribed. He then had the worst day he has ever had, no eating no drinking etc. I called the Vet and spoke with the receptionist and within 3 hrs Dr. McFadden called me back. We spoke about how this was probably a sign Nibbles will be ready to pass soon if we want to minimize suffering. She didn't have any official appointments available that week, but she said she could squeeze me in any day I wanted. After that I had 3 amazing last days with Nibbles, going to the park, eating all the foods he was never able to due to his pancreatitis. When the day came to let him go, Dr. McFadden and the rest of the staff were super supportive and helpful walking us through the process. We got to grieve and hold and love Nibbles the whole time while he was being assisted to heaven. I wish I had met her sooner, but I know if I ever get another pet, she is the first person I will call to be my vet again.

Yelp
Dr. Mollica was referred to us when our normal vet was away. Luckily for us, she's also knowledgeable about rabbits and we had a nice experience with her (though our reason for visiting her was not good). Our bunny is doing as best as he can now and Dr. Mollica definitely helped us with that. Thank you!

Laura K.

Yelp
I've taken my senior cat here for nearly a year now and always have a good experience. We've seen Dr. Mollica and Dr. Lyons and they are both kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough. The nurses and techs are great also. I love that they do the exam in front of you in the room, which is always reassuring to a nervous pet owner. My cat gets pretty mad when she's at the vet, and they're very understanding and work really well with her. She's had teeth cleaning, extractions, vaccines, checkups and blood work. Yes, it's pricey, most vets are in this area, but I think CGVG is worth it. There's just one thing I don't like, every time I've gone, there's been a bit of a wait, usually at least 30 minutes, sometimes as much as 45-50 minutes. This doesn't keep me from going there but if they could improve just this one thing it would be great.

Yelp
I cannot tell you how much I love Dr. Mollica. She's a gem- kind, warm, and super smart. She's the type of vet that gets down on your dog's level to exam them- she takes time with you to explain all of the options. She's helped my senior pup from the time he was quite young until now- he's has so many medical problems and she's talked me through them all. I am convinced he's reached 13 because of her excellent care. Don't pay attention to reviews from people that gave it one star out of weird anger- this is an incredible practice.

Yelp
Okay service but this clinic continues to inflate bills (see flagged reviews). We were charged $170 for one vaccine on our two puppies. Although we were told by the Vet on their first exam shots are $33 each (administered by a Vet Tech, no exam is needed) Garden Vet added an additional ~$100 for a routine Vet exam. We were informed AFTER the shots were administered that Garden Vet mandates all vaccine shots come with a Vet exam. This additional charge was never disclosed to us during our initial visit, the two phone inquiries and when we scheduled the vaccine appointment - we were routinely quoted $33 for each shot. Very disappointing with this local clinic. The apathetic quality of care did not justify the costs and their pricing is not available online. The ~$100 difference for a vet visit might not hurt their wealthier clients but for the average person that money could apply towards rent, food or any other budgeted expense. If you're a cost-conscious pet owner, avoid this clinic.

Yelp
We are in Park Slope where apparently the only animals that exist are cats and dogs so travelled here for care for our two guinea pigs. Highly recommend! Wonderful staff and service, and feel very confident that our piggies are in good hands. Worth the Uber ride to get there for sure!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
There are two vets on staff here. Doc Mollica is one of the sweetest people Ive ever met. Empathetic, caring, smart, always has a smile and always remembers your pet's name and his or her medical history. Her diagnostic skills are unparalleled. She's always provided the best care for my animals. Dr. Lyons is so calm and confident. He has seen the two feral cats I care for. Ferals are a real handful, but he got the exam done so quickly and skillfully that the cats hardly had a chance to get too worked up. The support staff are all pet people and are in tune with the patients and the owners. They are skillful and efficient at organizing your visit and they always have a smile for you when you come in. If you have a pet, and you love them, you owe it to get the best care for them. You will get that care here.

Yelp
Dr Mollica is the best! Just lovely to work with. She has helped us with our bulldogs now who are no longer with us. Is spectacular with our pitbull. She has hip issues and has been helping guide us on what to do. We really trust her opinion. If I have a quick question I can email her and she actually write me back in a timely manner.

Yelp
They start by doing weigh-in and temperature-taking in the exam room instead of in the back like every other vet I've been to--this alone makes the visit less stressful for my geriatric calico. New vet feature--I received before-and-after photos of cat's dental work, and prints of the xrays! It's the only time I'll ever get a good look at Ms. Diva's mouth. Docs and techs are all great; I get clear explanations, follow-up calls and kindness.

Yelp
If there was a higher number to rate this Veterinary Practice I would pick it. I am so pleased with the care and kindness my cat and I receive every time we visit. Dr. Lyons is great and deeply compassionate.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. From the first moment I contacted Caroll Garden Vet they made me feel so welcomed and comfortable! They patiently answered all my questions with loving concern and a smile. I just knew my Gracie was in the right hands!

Yelp
I think this yelp review says that I live in Manhattan. And there is a great vet very near here where I live also. However, Dr. Mollica and the staff at Carroll Gardens is so far and away above and beyond in care kindness and professional knowledge that I schlep my twelve year old, deaf, partially sighted, one toothed Havanese here for care. I adopted this very old, and severely traumatized dog last January-----he'd been lost during the hurricanes in Florida, and ended up in a kill shelter in Broward County. He was rescued and brought up here where I was lucky to find him on PetFinders---I brought him to Dr. Mollica and she spent an hour soothing, and loving him, while carefully examining the little old guy. He'd had all but one tooth removed, and was in terrible shape when he'd been rescued. Dr Mollica explained what kind of meds he needed, and how to care for such a small sweet creature. I'd always had big Standard Poodles, and this little guy was very different. Dr. Mollica is a treasure on Court Street!!

Yelp
I've been to at least three other vets (not including emergency vets) between the two dogs I've had since moving to NYC 18 years ago, and Dr. Mollica is by far the best vet I've found. She is knowledgeable, courteous, professional, has a great 'bedside' manner, and obviously cares about the animals. Our dog had a few bad injuries/illnesses last year, and Dr. Mollica was amazing with her each time. One of the incidents was pretty scary. Our dog had a severe allergic reaction to some wasp stings and went in to anaphylactic shock. My husband rushed her over to the vet and they immediately took her in and did some emergency measures to save her, and after all that, Dr. M SPENT THE NIGHT at her office to keep an eye on our dog through the night. I mean, C'mon...that is above and beyond the call of duty if you ask me, and we love her for it! 5 stars!

Roxanne S.

Yelp
I wish I could give zero stars for this place. I arrived with my dog that was very sick not eating drinking walking and doctor at this place basically didn't do a proper exam. Treated my dog incorrectly and failed to tell me important things about my pet. She also tells me to come back in a few days of my dog doesn't get better. After two days my dog throws up and basically looks like she's about to die. I call the vet and she has the nerve to tell me she can't see my dog to come the next day. Like really I'm telling you I think my dog is dying and you can't see her. I ended up going to a different doctor, crying thinking I had to put my dog Down and this new doctor looked at the papers from carroll gardens and was shocked at the ridiculous things that were done. Needless to say the new doctor treated my dog absolutely amazing gave me hope and basically told me straight forward what was happening. This will be my last time visiting carroll gardens

Yelp
This place is absolutely awful!!! The technicians are not licensed and they cannot keep any staff. The office manager, Roger, is completely incompetent and lazy as are the secretaries - whoever they manage to keep for more than a week there. The vet, Erica Mollica, is always running late and never apologizes for it. I always wait a minimum of a half hour past my appointment time just for her to come in from her so-called "emergencies." Not to mention she never returns calls or emails and then always claims - always - that she never got the message. She charges an absolute fortune including a $7.50 fee to every client to help defray her costs for removing hazardous materials!! Hello? That's part of running a business. Why do I have to pay for her operation costs? I had referred a few people here initially (for which I never got a thank you or a discount of any kind) because I thought she would be a good vet. She isnt. I finally got sick of her and her staff and found a different practice. My friends have stopped going to her as well. The place is just open a year. I expect and hope for the sake of the animals and their owners that Carroll Gardens Vet closes up shop sooner rather later. DO NOT bring your pet here. You'll get inadequate care, unprofessional treatment, and leave with a near-empty wallet.

Yelp
Mmm...it's a mix between 3&4 stars. So I've recently picked up a young rabbit near the beginning of August, and had no clue what to do with it. I'm suspecting it was an abused pet, dumped in my backyard a day earlier. I was recommended to try this place, since apparently rabbits are considered exotic animals, and not many vets take them. For my first visit impression, I must say that I was astonished. From the pets that were there before me, they looked very happy to see the doctor. Usually I'd expect to see extreme fear. The front desk was welcoming. The technicians were knowledgeable, friendly, and appear to love their job. I asked questions, they had answers and patience. Sure, there was a little waiting here and there, but it was never more than an understandable 5-7 minutes at a time. My impression of Dr. Mollica..Mmmm...I don't know. Standard. She did her job. My gripes about the rating: 1) I wasn't really invited to ask questions unless I had ask right at the time. I wish I had written my questions before hand instead of thinking on the spot. I mentioned this was a random adoption, so I don't really know what I'm doing besides what I read on the internet. But she's a busy woman, and I respect that. 2) My exam was suppose to be $69. No problem. Buttttt I was told later by one of her technicians that an examination for parasites would be done too, since I told her the rabbit probably came from some kids [no idea how that's related, but my brain says the test would be ideal], an extra $65 would be charged too. Total $134. Sure. I may have been the idiot with a furry friend, getting charged an exam I wasn't told about, but I'm just that: a vulnerable idiot that wants the furry friend taken care of properly. I wouldn't have minded as much, if I was asked before in person, but I'll let it slide and trust you on that. I got a free cage near the end though...because I didn't really have a cage, and brought the rabbit over in a basket, covered with a basketball net. It was a complimentary gift, for my good deeds in taking in the youngin. Oh, Dr. M, the flattery gave you that 4th Star (and cuz the technicians were cute).

Yelp
Owning a bulldog can come with health problems. We've gone to Heart of Chelsea, West Chelsea Animal Hospital, Chelsea Animal Hospital, and the Animal Medical Center. All terrible experiences! Either it's bad front of house staff, or over medicating, or that get em in and out feeling of a money making operation. Then we found Carroll Gardens Vet Group after we relocated from 34th street to Brooklyn 6 months ago. What a difference! We love the entire staff (anthony is fab) and after our frenchie broke his toe they went above and beyond to set his toe right avoiding unnecessary surgery. He's 100% better. All reasonably priced!! Great bedside manner. Dr Mollica is truly a Brooklyn gem! Run don't walk!

kimberly g.

Yelp
Dr. Mollica and her team are amazing. Our beloved dog Penny was a patient here for almost a decade. Dr. Mollica helped us immensely through the most difficult decision and made us feel safe knowing that Penny was in the best hands and no longer feeling any pain. Her warmth and genuine compassion was so helpful during the hardest moments. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mollica and her entire team who were our trusted medical advisors throughout Penny's life. We will miss you and will see you again when we are ready for another furry friend.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed with this place. I really liked Dr. Mollica and take my dog to her even though the office tends to be a bit more expensive than elsewhere. I had an issue with my cat after moving, and his health suddenly drastically declined. He stopped eating and was essentially deemed "anorexic". I was reccomended to Verg, their emergency partner, which may as well be a bank for the amount of money they want. After discussing with Dr.Mollica that I could only afford a nights stay and fluids I got a catheter placed and headed to Verg. I was told he needed 3-5 days in house and was quoted 3-5 thousand dollars. I'm a student, who pays tuition out of pocket. That was impossible for me. It seemed as if the info I relayed in office wasnt told to the staff ahead of time. We ended up being discharged without the fluids or the night of service I could afford. We were given meds and a note stating that we should further discuss our options with our vet and that my cat should be euthanized if the meds didn't work or hospitalization wasn't an option. I have called this office 4 times in the last 3 days and haven't gotten a single call back after leaving multiple messages. I called yesterday slightly upset (as you can imagine) and told the receptionist It should be treated as a priority bc he isn't well. Her reply.... Go to Verg. I ended up taking his catheter out myself (i work with needles) and ended up taking him to a different vet tonight. Hope Animal Hospital was great. Dr. Cometa was sweet and compassionate. My dog will be going to her going forward as well. It's unfortunate, but I feel as though they declined further discussion with me bc I couldn't spend thousands. A paying patient, is a paying patient. Unfortunately they now have two less.

Yelp
I've probably reviewed them before but they're worth a second one -- We've brought our two cats here ever since we adopted them three years or so, and they're absolutely the best vet that I've been to in Brooklyn. One of our cats had to have nine teeth extracted two years ago, and they did such an amazing job. Today his brother had four out. They're really compassionate, they give you an estimate and stick to it, and they always seem upfront and don't panic or try to push or upsell you at all. I love how relaxed, honest, and compassionate they are, and they totally understand how pet owners (like me!) are attached and sometimes apprehensive to have their pets go under anesthesia. Love and appreciate their bedside manner and wouldn't take my cats anywhere else.
google avatar

Lindsey T.

Yelp
Such a great practice! I take both my cats here, one with health trouble, and they treat them both so well. Both doctors have seen my two cats and are very thorough with giving me information about any question I have. I can tell the staff has a very passionate love for animals, and truly wants the animals to be healthy and happy. I have gone to some horrible vets before, and I am glad I have found one close to home that treats them so well! Ignore the negative posts... I've never once has my cats over-tested to jack up the cost of the bill. If price is an issue, get your pet covered with Trupanion a month in advance before the visit, and that way you're paying very little. I wish I had done that with my new kitten before I found out we would be buying her medicines every month for the rest of her life. I think it would have really helped.

Yelp
I had just moved to the neighborhood and rescued a stray from the cold. I brought the cat in to get it all fixed up to be adopted, but sadly it tested positive for leukemia. The staff was so dear in explaining that it was the right choice to put it down and comforted me through the process, even though I was crying hysterically. They even got my cremation charge waived by their outside agency since it was a stray. A few days later, I got a sympathy card with a handwritten message from every person on the staff. These are the caring people that I want taking care of my animals. It is so great to know that my two (healthy) cats will be in good hands.

Yelp
After calling multiple vets around my neighborhood, I was referred to CGVG. Apparently, guinea pigs are very "exotic", so most vets don't see them. CGVG was fantastic: from booking the appointment, to the front desk, to the techs, to Dr. Mollica herself, my guinea pig was doted on and well taken care of. I really couldn't ask for better care for my pet. I will absolutely be back. And for pricing: very reasonable for the level of care provided.

Yelp
I have been taking my dog here ever since I moved to the area about a year ago, and I have had nothing but positive experiences. First, and most importantly, my dog LOVES coming here. It's like a joke how much he loves this place- after he was neutered here, you would have thought he had spent the day playing at the park! He was super excited and just trying to get the vet tech and office girl to play with him. If we pass the office on a walk he pulls and cries to go back for a good block or so! Dr. Molica is knowledgable and friendly. She really seems to truly ENJOY working with my dog and getting to know him. We felt at ease with her right away. When we first moved, my dog was having severe anxiety issues while adjusting to his new home- Dr. Molica listened to our problem and helped us come up with a combination of training and medication that got him through it. The techs and support staff are also wonderful to deal with. Rodger, the main tech, is really especially great. He always does a good job making my dog feel at ease even through the *ahem* more awkward parts of the check-up. I've never waited more than 5 minutes past the scheduled appointment time, and same day appointments are usually not a problem.

Yelp
As usual, we had a wonderful experience at Carroll Gardens Vet Group. The difference this time is that we have a new puppy . Dr. Mollica was smiling, happy and engaging AND she was as always easy to talk to. Dr. Mollica answered all of our questions and was very informative about next steps. Then we met Lisa, who gave us 30 minutes of puppy advice including behavior and training tips. The front desk is organized and getting better all the time. yes, CGVG is pricey but not beyond what i have experienced at others vets.

Yelp
I cannot express how wonderful and amazing Dr Mollica is. I called with an emergency situation an hour before they were open.. And they took my pup, who's never been there before, without thinking twice. Karen, the nurse we saw was knowledgable and caring--- really helped me feel comfortable and calm. The tests and procedures were carefully explained and talked through-- and they were what made sense for my dog, not a one-size-fits-all solution. When I got to the front desk and got the bill-- I was even more stunned. It was itemized and so, so reasonable. I am sold--- if you're in the market for somewhere to care for your pet like you would... This is your place!

Yelp
I too loved Dr Mollica but was frustrated by the management. I urge anyone who felt like me to give them another chance. They have hired new office staff, extended hours, added boarding services and a second vet. They also offer specials on dental care (which is why I initially decided to give them another try), grooming and routine shots - maybe it's to keep them competitive and to bring people in but we all know how expensive pets can be so it really helps. Bottom line, it's hard to find a good vet...Dr. Mollica is a knowledgeable, caring and gifted vet who makes myself (and pets) feel secure.

Yelp
I called Tuesday evening July 2nd to get some information and the girl on the phone had an attitude, was not welcoming at all. I did receive mixed reviews from people in the neighborhood, but thought I would check it out myself. Well I was appalled by the attitude I received on the phone. This is certainly not a place I would want to bring my 2 babies. The doctor should reevaluate her staff as I would have loved to be a new client, but it is not warm and welcoming. I need someone with a heart. I need to speak to someone with compassion and I can tell there is just none of that there. I guess the people I spoke to were right. Find the right staff.

Yelp
They're always on time. They're always friendly. Professional. Great communication via email too. Doctor Mollica in particular is exceptional. Great bed side manner, never rushing though seemingly always on time. I wish our human medical system was more like this. I would give 6 stars if I could.

Yelp
Recently took my 10 year old cat here for an annual visit and a subsequent dental cleaning. Tiffany at the front desk was extremely understanding and knowledgeable as I called her about 10 times to ask a variety of questions about their policies and the procedure. They tracked down/accepted recent blood work results from a different vet, which saved me money, and also the dental cleaning was about 1/2 the price that I was quoted by another vet in the area. Dr. Mollica was very friendly, on time, and answered all my questions. The vet techs were friendly and skilled at handling my cat, who is basically a nightmare with all strangers. Couldn't be happier!

Yelp
We've been going here for over 5 years with our cats. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Mollica's clinic. She's not just a vet, but also a pet parent for many years, so her history comes in frequently. My partner and I are extremely OCD and absolutely overprotective of our furry friends. Dr. Mollica runs with us amazingly well, answering our myriad never-ending slew of questions with patience and detail.

Yelp
I love this clinic. They were so caring and warm with me when I had to put my elderly pug down. I will always cherish there care.

Yelp
My mom asked me to post this on Yelp: Doctor Erica and her staff are the most efficient and helpful group. She takes the time and patience to explain all that we needed to know about our Max. Dr. Mollica saved my 11 year old dalmation's life. My husband was ready to put him down but her diagnosis of his slipped disk and her recommendation for his treatment gave us our Max back. Thanks Dr. Mollica and her caring group. I will recommend Dr. Mollica and her group to everyone. Max thanks you too,

Yelp
Finding a vet you want to stick with seems to be difficult because when you take a sick pet in, you're in a vulnerable position and you want your furry friend to be taken care of. Unfortunately there are some vets that take advantage of this vulnerability by doing unnecessary and expensive testing, and this is one of those vets. I have two cats who have seen Dr. Mollica plenty of times for various medical issues and every time she has been polite, compassionate, and eager to explain what is (or could be) going on with my pet (though her replacements while she was on maternity leave were less capable). As a worrier who adores my animals, I'm aware when my worrying is being exploited for the sake of making money, which seems to happen too often at this vet--from unnecessary xrays to medications which are given to my cat without my knowledge (until the bill comes). Rarely is it below $300, despite the fact that an office visit is $70. It saddens me a little to have to leave Carroll Gardens (the Garden) Vet, but there's more to a good experience than liking the veterinarian. Aside from the over-testing and over-medicating for run-of-the-mill health issues, the front desk staff is constantly rotating and I always wonder about a place that can't keep their staff. The current front-desk person is unprofessional and it always took at least 15 minutes of waiting past my appointment time before we saw the doctor (many times it was 30 minutes or more). I gave this place the benefit of the doubt for too long and now I'm moving on.

Yelp
Skeptical about how the dogs are treated that are boarded here. Our dog just came back injured and acting really upset. We think that they leave them locked up all day on Sunday when they are closed. I WOULD NOT recommend boarding here. The DR herself is very very nice, intelligent, and a pleasure to work with. My concerns are really only centered around the administrative aspects of this business. 1. Boarding We live in the area with a large dog, and if we go on shorter trips we board here just because it's convenient. (Longer trips we take her to Camp Bow Wow in LIC - it's a nicer experience for her) We have seen how often they walk the dogs they are boarding on weekends here. It's not a good situation : 5-10 minute walks, then back in the cage for 8 hours. Not at all optimal. The other issue is that they are "closed" Sunday and won't allow you to pick up your pet. For instance we got home Sunday at 9am, and couldn't get her until Monday at 10 am. Not only is it just sad that we had to leave her there all day when we were home (we live down the block) - but they CHARGE you an extra day. I don't think that they should charge for Sunday if you are back in town and they won't answer their phones to let you come pick up your dog... then factor in the fact that they open really late in the day (10am) and now my husband has to pick up our dog so late thus making him lose half of a work day. 2. Office visit charges If my dog needs a bordetella shot for her stay/boarding, we shouldn't be charged for an "office visit" fee when she's already being dropped off for boarding. Office visit fees for routine shots are sometimes common in NY, but it's kind of wrong. Especially when your dog is in great health and not in need of a physical or consultation.

Yelp
Dr. Mollica is great and spends a good amount of time with you and your pet. the problem is the outrageous bill. I almost fainted when i brought my dog in for a senior work up and the bill was over $700. I used to see the best vet in Manhattan and never ever paid this amount of money, nor did i when i took my dog to get xrays at the NY Specialist Hospital. Unfortunately, i needed someone relatively close by after i moved to Brooklyn. I thought she seemed really good but i agree with some others, the staff at the front desk is totally clueless and the techs that were supposed to hold my dog down did not seem to know what they were doing. I literally can't afford to go there anymore at those prices.

Yelp
Dr. Mollica is the best...the other vets in the practice are competent and thorough and I was happy to meet with them when Dr. Mollica was on leave. This is an old fashioned vet office in a big city. Because of how thorough Dr. Mollica is, it makes it easier to make decisions that are not always clear cut (my cat has a chronic problem that does not have a clear diagnosis). They help the client weigh how to make difficult decisions regarding tests. Dr. Mollica is incredibly respectful and supportive in helping you choose care for your pet. I went for a time to a specialist and was delighted to return back to this group for great care. On one occasion that I didn't get the high level of follow up that they typically give (more than most vet offices), a friendly call from me led to an apology and great follow up. I don't know any busy doctor office that doesn't get harried at times. I understand that a couple of people writing reviews had different experiences. However, I completely disagree with the comments about overcharging. The services are always reasonable and the amount of time spent make me wonder how they can charge what they do for such thorough service.

Yelp
We love both Dr. Mollica and Dr. Bell, and so do our cats and dog! You're in good hands here.
