If you have anything in mind that this deli will be like New York, then you'll be disappointed. Roast Beef, Pastrami & Turkey all are bland with no flavors. They hardly use any cheese, all our sandwiches had only one paper thin cheese slice.

Came out to Carshons for lunch today and had their famous Reuben sandwich which was good but not great. I've definitely had better at Cindi's in Dallas. The service was excellent and the Hispanic ladies running that restaurant are amazing. I had the misfortune of meeting an older white woman who was running the register and was quite rude. She barely acknowledged me and only spoke once my bill was paid up. Not sure if she is the owner but her attitude will make me never come back to this establishment. Do better, ma'am.

A wonderful Deli. I got a grilled roast beef sandwich on pumpernickel with a side of macaroni salad. The food tasted great and I have no complaints. The portions were moderate, and the ingredients tasted fresh and cooked to order. The waitresses were helpful and direct. The dining space is compact and there was a sizable crowd, but the staff kept the orders coming and turned over tables efficiently. I'd definitely come back here if I get the chance.

We discovered this driving by ours son’s home and put it on our bucket list. My wife loves kosher delis and one Saturday afternoon we ventured down from the Alliance area. It really isn’t much to look at from the outside and you may drive by, without even noticing. Well the inside is fairly simple too but you can see the history as you walk through it. We sat down once we walked in and found it got busier as we were there. I have to say the service is amazing here. They are quick to greet you and even quicker tend f to your orders. We didn’t like the matzo ball soup. It was bland. Not bad just needed some seasoning. The Rebecca sandwich was out of this world good. The Cole slaw and sauce coupled with the meat was phenomenal. My wife also liked her sausage plate. We split the strawberry delight dessert which was equally great.

I ordered the Reuben sandwich and overall had a great experience. The pastrami was tender and enjoyable, though it could use a bit more flavor and salt to really make it stand out. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was ok perfect for a lunch meal. I’d definitely come back, but I’m hoping for just a little more punch from the pastrami next time!

We had never eaten here before. We stopped in for a late lunch. This place is not fancy, but it is an iconic eatery. Their menu is fairly limited but they are a deli and they excel in what they do. We both had the Rebecca sandwich. I had soup and my wife had potato salad. All of the food was great. We had heard a lot about their chocolate cake. We had to try it. We shared a slice. It was very rich, but very good. Now we were overly stuffed. The employees were very friendly and our server was very attentive. We will be back.

Being from Philly and being no stranger to delis, this place exceeded my expectations. The matzo ball soup made me feel like I transported back to my childhood. The reuben was fantastic. Definitely coming back and highly recommend!

Fast service and delicious filling sandwich! I dropped by after hearing terrific things from Reddit about this "New York Level" deli. Glad to say I was not disappointed. I ordered a 1/2 size pastrami sandwich on rye, with a side of coleslaw. The sandwich was very filling with plenty of meat. The pastrami was flavorful and tender, and the perfect amount of seasoned. The coleslaw was a nice compliment, as it was lighter and vegetables. Glad to have made this stop while in Fort Worth!

Carshon's is a Fort Worth staple and I'm glad I've finally tried it. Excellent sandwich shop and deli with staff that treat you like family and sandwiches made with love. I enjoyed the delicious Ruthie with roast beef. I loved how thin the meat is, but sandwich is loaded. The thin slices help the flavors all work together. PS- try the house stone mustard- yum!!

We recently traveled a short distance to this famous deli for a family, favorite, Reuben sandwiches. With a side order of potato salad and a bag of chips it was the perfect lunch. The food is exceptional. The service was great. This is a full-service restaurant, however It's big on takeout as well. The menu is limited however it was delicious and it is a deli. The ambience is reason I didn't give it a five star, it's simple almost picnic style, but the food is worth it. You can pretty much come as you are. It is only open Monday through Saturday 9 to 3. So definitely a lunch deli.

This is the place my friends and I go when we need to "rend flesh." Can't beat a classic sandwich (the Rachel is my go-to), generously proportioned and delicious! I've been coming here for over 50 years and plan on coming back for another 50.

Excellent Jewish deli. Also excellent service. I had a bowl of soup and a deli sandwich and was impressed with both. If you're looking for an authentic deli in the Fort Worth area, this is it. Highly recommend.

Y'all. If you're a fan of a good Reuben sandwich and you haven't been here yet, you are missing out! This deli has been open almost 100 years and it's clear that the meats are high quality. It's a smaller mom and pop deli but service was friendly and food delivery was pretty quick. Don't expect a lot of frills, but the food is worth the trek.

I arrived at 2:40. I was late due to the two accidents on the interstate however they're closed at 2:45. Even though their sign says 3 pm they actually close at 2:45 just for anyone else who might try to come here. And they are extremely rude about it. I would hesitate to even come at 2:30. You'd probably need to be here at least an hour and a half before they close given how rude their employees are on how they don't want to serve anyone. The location leaves a lot to be desired. And it's extremely small inside. It's more like walking up to a butcher where you're ordering half a pound of roast, beef, etc.. also the restaurant part which I never went into, but I could only see look to be extremely small. There are other delis that actually want your business like Jason's deli, McAllister deli, etc. Who also have more reasonable hours. If you want to order a Reuben sandwich, I would suggest going in there. It might not be as good as a sandwich, but you'll be in. I'm much more pleasant environment and at a business that actually wants your business.

This is an iconic deli in Fort Worth -- Carshon's has been operating in Fort Worth since 1928. It's certainly not a fancy spot, there aren't even windows in the main dining area, but the food is affordable and consistently, predictably delicious. And those baked goods... the lemon bars? Pie of the day? Come on. The menu is classic Jewish deli with all our favorites like pastrami, corned beef, lox with cream cheese, knockwurst, roast beef, egg salad, kosher hot dogs, matzo ball soup, and much much more. They're famous for their "Rachel" sandwich (corned beef and smoked turkey, melted Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing on rye bread, grilled) and the "Rebecca" (pastrami, cream cheese, smoked turkey, and Russian dressing layered on three pieces of egg bread, grilled). How does one choose?? Jon had a little of both by ordering the Rachel on egg bread. Since I can't eat gluten I ordered the "build your own plate" where you basically choose 1 protein/main and 2 sides. I got the egg salad with potato salad and baked beans, very starchy choices hahah, but so good. Everything was delicious, clean, simple, quality, homemade food. The mustardy potato salad was so close to what I grew up eating. Our waitress was so sweet and food comes out fast. You'll be given a ticket then you pay at the register upfront. Don't forget to tip your server and buy a lemon bar or brownie to go.

Carshon's is an old Jewish deli in the Near Southside Neighborhood. It's excellent, a true Fort Worth staple! They are CASH ONLY, so be prepared for that. Also, they get busy, so you may have to wait, but it's worth it. I've really enjoyed everything I've had there, and I definitely look forward to going back.

"Hole in the wall" deli with counter service for buying meat and fish by the pound and a sit down ordering restaurant as well. Simple, clean decor of concrete floors and white walls. Deli style menu with super large portions of corned beef, pastrami, & turkey sandwiches. They also have other sandwiches such as bologna, tongue, sardines and lox spread on bagels (among others). My husband and I could have split a sandwich (he would eat 3/4 and me 1/4). They also offer salad plates such as egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, etc. We ended with cappuccino ice cream pie, which I highly recommend. If you know you'll order this--order with your sandwich to allow it to soften. Highly recommend and will return to try other things, including breakfast.

You can't find a better Ruben anywhere! Everything great. Love the Lox and bagles. Great pies.

Excellent deli sandwiches. Good sides too. And Dr. Brown's Diet Dark Cherry Soda. Rotating desserts. Don't pass on their meringue pies when available.

I picked up my order at this charming Jewish deli last week. It's cool to know that this deli has been in existence for almost a century. I got their half smoked Turkey sandwich which came with a pickle, pickles (salt and vinegar chips), lemon bars and picked up some sour apple hard candies. The prices are affordable and the portions are decent as well. The smoked Turkey was fresh and flavorful on its own, however I'll try it with mustard next time. The pickle was flavorful and paired well with the sandwich. The chips were yummy and the lemon bars were heavenly. The sour apple candies were yummy as well. I look forward to my next visit. The service was friendly and I didn't have to wait long to check out. The atmosphere appears casual and homey. Carshon's deli only accepts cash.

UPDATE! I came back and tried the Rueben. Fantastic! These people make a mean sandwich! I tried a bag of the bagel chips, and they were ok. And I took home 4 pieces of strawberry delight! Today, when I left the doctors office, I stopped by and grabbed 3 strawberry delights for the hotel room. I've got to figure out this recipe! If you haven't been to Carshon's, listen to Guy...GO!

If you're a lover of corned beef, if you haven't already, you must try Carshon's. When I travel I always seek out the best kosher deli, and I've eaten at many. My conclusion is that we have the best deli right here in Fort Worth. Their prices are fair and the quality is unsurpassed. Regulars know; if you're not you must check it out and you'll see what I'm talking about.

We were extremely turned off by the ice queen that we had to endure up front. She really needs to go hang out behind a curtain or something...or fix her face.....SOMETHING!. My husband and I shared a sandwich bc we were so put off by the energy that this place had to offer, which was none. The toasted blah sandwich was overpriced and quite underwhelming. The lovely Latina waitress was the only ray of sunshine that this place had to offer. There is no need to ever come back to deal with a dragon upon arrival and forgettable food.

If you want one of the best sandwiches you have ever tasted, Carshon's is the place. My mom and I went for lunch and had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich. The service is fast and friendly, and the ambiance is nice.

I almost forgot just how good the Pastrami Rueben is here at Carshons Deli. It's by far the best Rueben I've ever had every time. I found myself taking small bites so the sandwich would last longer. True story. As I sit here in awe of what I just consumed, the thought of ordering another one is heavy on my mind. I'll sit here for a few minutes and drink my water until the urge passes. Ok, it still hasn't passed but I'll use my will power, or lack thereof and just walk away. I can't wait until I return and it may be sooner that you think! And by the way, the wait staff is Always the most pleasant ladies in the business. That just makes it that much better.

Listen Fort Worth, don't sleep on the old heads!!! This deli has been around for decades and I'm just now going down my list checking off spots that I've had there for quite some time now. I'm super disappointed in myself for putting this one off for so long! Don't go here looking for ambiance or instagram worthy photos, you won't find that here! What you will find is delicious sandwiches and excellent customer service! You can't go wrong with the Ruebens so try them out immediately. The only thing we didn't care for was the chicken salad, otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Carshon's Deli! Happy Eating, Fort Worth!

I've been going here for decades. Hands down, it's the best deli sandwich in Fort Worth. The servers are friendly and attentive. It's not fancy, but the food is on point. Bring cash or a check. It's old school delicious.

Excellent pastrami Reuben. Will be going back to try their turkey as it has also come highly recommended. Very friendly staff! My Mom and I stopped for lunch on a weekend, they were packed but the wait was minimal to grab a table. The eating area is incredibly loud and has no windows, which is the only reason this isn't a 5 star review. They do have a lot of older Fort Worth photos hanging that are fun to check out.

Their pastrami on rye is fantastic, and the atmosphere feels like a step back in time in the best way possible. A heads-up to first-timers--Carshon's is cash only and open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you haven't been, you're missing out on one of Fort Worth's best-kept secrets. Carshon's Deli has been a staple in Fort Worth forever! I have been many times for sandwiches that are stacked so high with meat you can barely bite them. It is a must do when you are in their area.

We have wanted to go to this place for ages, but rarely find ourselves in this part of Fort Worth early enough to go. We left the Scarborough Faire and realized it was on our way home and we would make it by 2:30! Perfect. We headed straight there, excited to see what all the buzz was about. We pulled in and entered the restaurant at 2:28. We looked at the menu for a couple minutes and then approached the counter. A lady (the owner?) kind of looked at us funny. We asked if we needed to go sit to place an order or how it works. None of it was obvious at all. She said, "Well, I close at 3pm." (My husband and I look at each other) I said, "...ok?" knowing it was literally 2:32 and this is a SANDWICH SHOP not someplace that is going to bake something from scratch that will take 45 minutes. She continued, "We stop seating people at 2:30" in the bitchiest tone imaginable. I just kind of stared at her... She said "It's 2:32", I continued looking at her... She said, "So I guess... go ahead and sit down and we'll come take your order." So we left. All the signs say they close at 3! It wasn't like we rolled in at 2:55 and demanded service. She didn't offer to take a to-go order. She acted like everyone in town knows they stop seating people at 2:30! Dear Owner Lady - you're charging $13 for bread and meat. If you want to stop seating people at 2:30, that's fine, just make it clear to people what's going on, maybe change the sign? Don't act like you're painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel here. We left and went to another small business in the area that was happy to take our money.

The food is excellent and the service is just as good. Wish it was closer to me to visit more

I had been sick for over a week, not the "Rona, LOL" but he called all over town looking for matzoh ball and chicken soup for me to eat while I was sick. The chicken broth was different from what I'm used to but it was still very good. My husband said, the ladies behind the counter were very sweet and accommodating. I did feel somewhat better after eating that soup.

This is one of my top 2 places for sandwich cravings. It hits perfectly every time. The lunch menu is a great size and they do breakfast options in the mornings as well. The Ruthie with corned beef is fantastic and I love getting a side of hot mustard to add to it. The sides are always simple and clean so the sandwiches can truly shine. Everything is super customizable and comes fresh and hot to your table. Service is so kind and friendly, and you really feel like you've bought the whole place out for your table when you come early. It's super cool to have a historic spot like this available in town and still doing so well. Hope we can support them enough to keep that up for years to come.

Our first time here. We were looking for a good Rueben sandwich and found a great one! I had the salad plate which was tasty. The chicken, potato and macaroni salads were very good and all filled with lots of crispy fresh vegetables. There was a homey atmosphere with great service. We ended with the coconut pie of the day, which was still warm from the oven and awesome. We will be back. I will get a sandwich next time.

First meal at Carshon's was 1973. Friends dad was a dentist and took us there for lunch. He ate there once a week. Was great then and still is. Wonderful Reuben is second only to Old Swiss Pastry on Vickery. Area has gone way downhill but pretty safe during daylight hours.

Always fresh, service is friendly and cute! Always a warm place to grab a bite and reasonably priced.

CASH ONLY! How there are still restaurants that survive without accepting credit cards, I don't know. But here we are. I made a quick run to an ATM around the corner. I lucked out at 11:30 am with no wait and immediate seating. I'd already looked over the menu so I was able to order when my waitress came by. About 15 minutes later, my "breadless Reuben" arrived. A great portion of very thinly sliced pastrami, topped with sauerkraut and swiss cheese that was nicely melted and quite delicious. The pickle on the side was crisp and tasty as was the small bowl of cole slaw. Thankfully, they have mustard packets because what's pastrami without mustard? They also have Dr. Brown's sodas (bottled by Honickman Affiliates in NJ, https://www.yelp.com/biz/honickman-affiliates-pennsauken-township?hrid=emBdOst8a5_YXBfrtsrh9g) and I enjoyed a diet cream soda with my "sandwich." Perfect. As much as I would have loved one of those black and white cookies or a cheesecake, I stuck to my keto diet and did not have extra carbs today. They also have a bunch of other Jewish "supplies" on hand if you're needing gefilte fish, matzoh or gelatin. Or classic u-bet syrup for your chocolate egg cream. The rye bread was delicious! Highly recommend the Rueben. Matzoh ball soup was great as well, had chicken and noodles in it. Service was fast and friendly. Really great spot for a deli sandwich. Prices have increased over the years from about $8 to $9 to $12 for the sandwiches, but still well worth it! They are STUFFED! I could only eat half. Plenty of seating and booths as well.

First time here. Customer service was friendly and helpful. Many many usual customers. Dining room kind of unusual; they had office-type book shelves. Tongue sandwich was very good and the potato salad was a little plain but addictive! The pie was nice very.

At first glance, if you're just driving by, you might not realize the gold mine that lies behind the older style deli windows. This place is an AUTHENTIC Jewish deli. I've been to delis in both Hollywood FL (a heavy Jewish population) and NY and neither places had a place like this. It's cash or check only lol so bring enough to get what you want. There is a smaller dine in area if you are looking to eat there during their limited hours. Ever single thing we ordered was incredible. The matzah ball soup was absolutely perfect on a chill day and with a bit of a sore throat. Not too salty and an absolutely perfect consistency. Both sandwiches were better than any other iteration I've found in the DFW area. The Rueben was the perfect combo of sauerkraut and corned beef. The bread was cut thin enough and not too toasted. The Rebecca was the recommendation of our waitress (who was delightful). The sandwich just melted in our mouth. The egg bread was incredible and the two meat combo was perfect savory/salty. We finished with the cappuccino ice cream pie. Not too sweet and a great combo of coffee and cream. I 100% plan to be back as I want to try the kosher hot dogs (with toppings) and some of the different desserts (the lemon bars look amazing) The staff was so pleasant and they even told us that it gets incredibly busy during the linchpin rush so keep that in mind when you plan your visit... but you MUST plan your visit soon!

Love my Carshons family. The pie is out of this world. The food is out of this world. The waitresses are so sweet. Kind of loud, but worth it! Delicious!
