The woman at the front desk, Skylar, was friendly and a delight to talk with. Although the place is "dated" once you pass through the modern (?) glass doors and exterior, I found it welcoming, inviting, warm. My room was large yet cozy and comfortable with a refridgerator, large flat screen, cable, large window looking out towards North Carson, and clean. Disappointed that there were no shampoo, conditioner or blow dryer. I love the old-style with its dark wood doors and front desk area, etc., along with the dark burgundy carpeting. The heater didn't warm up the room well, though. I had felt a strong, cold draft coming into the room from around the door which didn't help get the room warmth any. I'll let them know. The prices are a bit steep in my opinion but they compare to most of the other hotel/motel rates in town. I say you should come and stay...Check It Out!

Don't stay here. There are so many other nice hotels. This one was super dinky and smelly and just creepy. The pictures DEFINITELY made everything look nicer. I've honestly stayed at nicer Motel 6's. The room had hairs in between the sheets from previous person, and the carpet was filthy. The room reaked and there was mold in the bathroom. The TV didn't work so I had nothing to drown out the noise coming from other rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful however. They did not refund me my deposit but after calling they apologized and immediately refunded me.

For the price this place is better than most motels. The staff is wonderful and helpful and the rooms are pretty clean considering they are motel rooms and people come to party and spill things and even if its smoky its no worse than any other hotel or casino in Nevada. I was really surprised after reading people's reviews especially bad ones but maybe the people that were not taking care of this place are gone now and new people are doing a great job. The bed was comfortable and pillows average for motel not like its the Hilton but better than motel 6 any day and even has soap and shampoo! LOL! I will definitely come back and send people to stay here.

Will never stay here again! Checked in and when we went to our room the bathroom had dirty washcloth and missing towels, tooth paste splatters all over the mirror. Called front desk to ask for it to be cleaned. He brought a few towels and took the wash cloth away and called it good! For a non smoking floor it stunk horribly of smoke! One the good side, air conditioning works good, and plenty of parking.

I keep on reading about this place being dated. Sometimes dated is good if it's well kept. The location is great because it's close to a lot good bars, the casino, and restaurants. There's even bike rentals here. I'm sure this place was grand back in the days. I wish they would have updated their pictures on the websites. But, it is true, this place is dated in a good way. It just depends on how you see it. Trust me, I have been to worst places (see my reviews if you need proof). I wished that they would use LED lights (daylight hue) instead of yellow halogens. Yes, they still use regular keys. As long as this place don't smell old, I'm fine with it. For the prices, it's not bad at all.

Kamry Rivera,

Google
This place smells bad and the Room was dirty. Even the floor that said non smokers had a really bad smell to it. Also When checking in there is a group of people who are smoking both nights that we stayed there right out the front desk is desk area. The rooms are dusty and not to mention the blanket was very very gross even if they said they are clean sheets, they not clean sheets they did not appear to be clean as they have body hair found on the sheets from previous tendent. The room was super dusty as well dwell and even though we stayed for 2 nights room clean service did not make the beds and take the beds and did not clean.

We stayed in the south shore suite with an adjoining room and it was great. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchenette adequately stocked. It came with a washer and dryer which was really handy. The LEDs on the jetted tub are nearly seizure-inducing so beware if your sensitive to flashing lights. Would stay here again. Despite what Google says, there is no hot tub but management doesn't claim to have one so don't get angry because Google made a mistake.

Google
Old hotel and they have renovated a bit. Beds are not super clean. Its cold in the room, looks like they haven't caulked the windows properly and cold air sneaks inside the room and keeps the room cold despite cranking up the heater. In addition they have a thin blanket which you would realize its cold during middle of the night. Shower area doesn't drain well and water logs inside the tub. Won't recommend at all unless you don't get a room anywhere else. Certainly not worth for the price. Not sure how it has 3 star reviews.

Yelp
Rented a room, it was a pleasant stay. I rented a bicycle following the checkout and they charged Visa $100 for the deposit plus an amount for the rental. Now over a month later I see that the deposit was never reversed on the Visa. I called the front desk a number of times and finally got someone to answer after waiting a long time. Now, I assume he was likely trying to ignore the ringing. Mentioned the deposit not being reversed. He looked it up and said he is sure that it was reversed. When asked why, or if he could send me the documentation of the reversed charges when my Visa bill says otherwise, he just said "I'm sure". I then mentioned that a negative review will be posted. He replied, "I don't care if you give me a negative 10. I f****** don't care." Nice stay. Bad customer service.

Yelp
I stayed here last weekend for a trail race up in South Tahoe. This is an old style hotel but the room had recently been renovated. When I arrived around noon the lady at the front desk let me check in early although she said the check in time is at 3pm. They still use the old style key for the room and not those key card you scan at the door. The room in 422 was clean, the AC was working great, the bathroom was nice and clean, my room had a great view of Carson St and the parking lot. There was also a mini fridge in my room as well. The WiFi was working pretty good. Overall I didn't have any problem with this hotel for the price I paid. would love to stay here again next time when i m in town.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. I stayed from Aug 6 - 9. Not one time was my room cleaned. I was given 2 extra towels from the front desk for the entire stay. The place is a disaster, the front desk says they knocking the place down in SEPT. Best thing to do. Do not stay here at any cost. I was ripped OFF !!

Yelp
Slightly confusing, as this property is alternatively listed publicly as either the Carson-Tahoe Hotel or City Center Hotel Carson City. I stayed here 2 nights as a guest invite of the Nugget Casino for their 2017-18 New Year's Eve Bash. The hotel is owned by the Nugget Casino. Driving 3.5 hours from out-of-state overnight, I arrived hazy-dazed after 2am, but was warmly greeted & put at ease by overnight desk agent Miles. He noticed I don't travel lightly and offered to assist me with bags at that wee hour. I was impressed from the start. The hotel itself, if dated & slightly drab, was totally workable~serviceable. The Bellagio it ain't, buy you're definitely not paying those prices to stay here. No dreaded resort fees or dog piling of taxes like Vegas & now even Reno does. Each room is comfortably appointed with a USB-ported flat screen TV, Wi-Fi (free open network), fridge, coffee maker, ironing set up, alarm clock, comfortable beds, electronic thermostat, luggae rack, morning lobby coffee & lobby communal microwave. TV gets quite a few stations & Showtime. They still do old-fashioned wake up calls here too, lol! About a block's walk South to the Nugget Casino. Hotel parking fills up fast, but there's a huge semi-paved lot behind the hotel on N. Curry St. or additional spots on W. Ann St., including room for RV's & buses. Looks kinda shady out back at night, but I can vouch that Carson City generally is a very quiet town with proactive police & sheriff patrols. No pool or gym here, as mistakenly reported on some travel boards. Appears pet friendly. Bicycle rental avail. on site for those so inclined. I finally found an acceptable lodging choice that's within walking distance to the casino, and I'm sure to stay here again.

Yelp
The Night desk worker was very rude , no personality, and wouldn't even entertain the idea of a late check out. Our bed didn't have a fitted sheet on it and it was basically just covered in sheets. The bath room wasn't filthy but wasn't as clean at it should have been. We stayed because it was for one night and we didn't spend much time there.

Yelp
Not sure why the entire hotel smelled like pot the first night we stayed here but it did, and it was bad. The room was pretty dingy and the walls were in desperate need of some attention. I would rate this place with only one star except for the shower which was most excellent. The pressure was good and it did not go cold. Big thumbs up for that. The ice machine on the second floor did not work. With the exception of one person, the front office was totally unhelpful. I requested an additional pillow and was told they didn't have any. How the F*ck do you not have extra pillows at a hotel? Another time the same person had trouble procuring an extra chair for the lobby. Truly baffling. Hospitality does not rate very high here. Another one of the front office people claimed to have no scissors I could use for 2 seconds. Again, how it is even possible to have a front desk without a pair of scissors? Seems like pretty generic office utensils to me, but what do I know?

Yelp
This is the worst hotel experience ive ever had. There was spit on the bathroom mirror. Someones dirty clothes were in the drawerss. The table between the beds was broken. And they had the audacity to offer me only a 20 percent discount. Worst 150 dollars ive ever spent. Shame on the carson nugget for even claiming ownership.

Yelp
Do not stay here. The hotel is gross and old. The carpet is disgusting. We tried to check in early and they told us they were at capacity when there were no cars in the parking lot. Then they are trying to falsely accuse us of breaking a window, we did not even touch the windows. $585 for a window we didn't come near. This place is a scam. Beware!!!!!

Yelp
The disappointed was immediate when we arrived in the lobby with law enforcement present, dealing with a somewhat shady looking grout that were taking up space in the lobby. This was followed by a less than friendly clerk at the desk, who hardly spoke a word and took a more than reasonable amount of time to only tell me that, "Although our booking reservations confirmed that we had a non-smoking room, they do not have one for us and that we would have to settle for a smoking room." I expressed my dissatisfaction and was promptly and without empathy or apologies told, " I am not in a position to make such decisions " when I asked about compensation for the issue. We were not surprised to have the presence of cigarette smoke in our room, since the Lobby and all the hotel Hallways reeked of tobacco. Inside the room, carpets were riddled with cigarette burns and stains, lighting was inadequate and some did not work at all, furniture was dated and blemished with wear and abuse, the paint on walls was chipped and needed painting, fixtures/cabinets and plumbing were worn and installed improperly and haphazardly, the cable television did not work , nor did we even get information on how to connect with the advertised wi'fi,just to name things that immediately come to mind. In addition, the parking was not good, it was limited in the immediate area and it did not appear to me properly monitored for security. With all this, we were eager to get our needed sleep and get out, not only because of the poor conditions inside, but for the sake of getting our vehicle out before it was broken into. We went to the Lobby and found the same group of people from when we checked in, arguing with a person at the desk , who identified himself as the manager and that was going to call the police if they continued with him. I want to assure that is known that I am not a single disgruntled patron, not only do other reviews reflect the same sentiment, but while in the hallway going to our room, there was conversation among other patrons and the terrible uncleniness of the rooms and how they were considering leaving. I do plan on contacting the cooperation that manages this hotel to share my concerns

Yelp
Booked near half the fourth floor for wedding guests , front desk folks were freindly , shorter lady ( beleive she was housekeeping ) was usesless , poor attitude , unfreindly. Ac unit was not working in our room from the get go but we arrived in the evening so we dealt with it the first night, called it in on the second day and thats when we met the " evil housekeeping lady" just unfreindly, actually told me at one point after the technicians ( who were freindly , but seemed overworked) " you know, you can open the window".... i regarded this as funny, and just opened the door to the room , as the air outside the room was much cooler. Several complaints from other guests were heard as well , from the almost cigar like smell in the hallways to the rusty water that came from the faucets for the first minute or so you turned the water on to the elevator that had a mind of its own and a "final destinationesque" 30 second hesitation as it decided exactly where the floor was it was going to open doors at. If you think 30seconds is not a long time, stand in an elevator with the doors closed , neither going up or down for that amount of time and im sure you will have a different outlook on timespace, lol. I dont leave reviews and really dislike leaving a not so good one , but these are only a few of the issues i and those in out party encountered. Some petty, some minor and some just uncalled for in the hospitality business. My suggestion is to the owners, if you are going to provide a service to folks , amd appreciate their patronage, make them feel comfortable , safe and welcome. And always be helpful and have a smile on your face even if its only when you are dealing with them. And to the "evil housekeeping lady" , everyone needs a job, not everyone wants the one they have, just try to remember, your guests didnt have anything to do with hiring you or what kind of day you had or are having . So smile, n be freindly. Its the occupation you are in , like it or not. You may even find that it makes you feel better to get a smile in return.

Yelp
I'm glad I'm the first one to leave a good review on this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay for the western states championship weekend!! It was very clean and very nice for a small hotel. Front office people that I encountered were very nice and friendly. Of course there is better hotels out there but this small hotel in downtown Carson city is really nice and clean. I just took one star out for the parking really small and gets full quick, there is parking across the street but parking was empty didn't want to leave my car alone there. Other than that I'm glad I booked here. No pool, but I wasn't looking into that so it didn't matter to us.

Yelp
I stayed here last weekend for a snow trip. It's conveniently located fairly close to the ski resorts in Tahoe. The hotel and rooms are old/outdated but overall didn't have any complaints for the price. The heater/AC worked well. Always had hot coffee out in the lobby, not a bad place to stay if you're not going to be in the room the majority of the time

Yelp
I had called ahead to check into this hotel early as we were traveling from 8 hours away, I needed to check in and then go to my new job. We had to stay here for about ten days before I could get into my new house. I arranged with the stand in manager Miles to check in early. When we got there Marissa was extremely rude and said our room would be ready for us at 5 when it was supposed to be ready at 1. Check in time is normally 3 so i have no idea why they said 5pm. So they made a huge drama how they have a certain way of doing things and they would do it this one time. Well our room was clean and ready to go all a long thanks to miles but the head maid Jen and Marissa gave us a terrible time. Fast forward to being there several days. We had to change rooms to finish out our stay and I again made sure with the manager that we could check out of one and go straight into the next one as our rooms were paid for. Again they say we have to check out at 11 and can not check back in until 5 pm even though we paid for the night before and that night. They were very tude and actually yelled at us and ssaid they would not discuss it any further. Even the general manager and some man threatened to call the sheriff on me just because I had a complaint. I was very calm and nice and just wanted to resolve the issue and they were hostile and crazy. Miles is great everyone else does not need to be in the hospitality field. I have never had a problem with anyone in my whole life. It was dirty and gross. Never stay at the Carson Tahoe Hotel. I would have not had a problem waiting til 3pm they normal check in time but 5 pm and we had an agreement twice to be in early because of circumstances and giving them about 15 days of our business with two rooms.

Yelp
Seemed OK upon check-in; however, upon entering the room, I went to take a shower after a long day in the wilderness and was welcomed with a non-functioning shower. Imagine my delight when I turned on the water and it would not drain! I just love standing in my own filth. For the amount I spent on four nights at this hotel, the least I could expect is a fully functioning room. I did not receive that. I'm waiting to see what they do about it and will post a follow-up shortly.

Yelp
never ever will i stay here again. went to take a shower and the handle came off in my hand. rooms and hotel weren't the cleanest also.
