I’m big when it comes to coffee especially cortados. I looked at all the places and this coffee spot caught my attention. Bought two cortados, one for my wife and for myself. First sip was so delicious and creamy. I recommend this place for anyone who loves coffee especially craft coffee. I’ll have to come back again. Thank you Cartel Roasting Co.

As most folks of my generation have discovered, a good coffee shop is always searched out in a hip town. Speaking subjectively to my experience as a coffee and espresso focused drinker, I can say that Cartel is the best in town. Why? They nail my drink every time to my exact preference regardless of who is at the counter. They do so quickly, with a smiling face and welcoming attitude, and they do this in a pretty small space. My drink of choice is typically a traditional breve cap, favoring a not overpowering hint of vanilla when I have a sweet tooth. Seemingly, they nail the espresso to creme ratio, and their foam art is the best garnish on the way in or out of town. You make my mornings special, thank you Cartel team.

Order a drip and you’ll find yourself swirling it like a sommelier, suddenly able to describe tasting notes like “stone fruit” and “reassurance.” Best cortado in town and specialty drinks are extremely well balanced. The pastries are good, the caffeine is dialed in, and consider buying a bag of beans to remind you of how good life can be or a souvenir.

Found Cartel Roasting while spending a weekend in Palm Springs and I’m super glad I did! It’s a very cool building, with a small-but-comfortable interior and a small patio. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the coffee is great! I tried both cold brews, as well as the dirty chai, and everything was very high quality and delicious. Good vibes, good coffee, and a good aesthetic—Cartel Roasting is worth a visit.

My wife and I are big matcha drinkers and we always make a point to find a good matcha spot when we travel. For our first morning in Palm Springs we stopped at Cartel Coffee because it was right across from where we were staying for our anniversary weekend. The shop itself is small but has a cool look with interesting art and a relaxed vibe. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and it definitely feels like a go to spot for locals who want a solid coffee or tea. I ordered a vanilla matcha latte and my wife got the honey lavender matcha. Unfortunately the vanilla matcha latte was a complete miss. It tasted mostly like milk with no real vanilla flavor and barely any matcha taste. I ended up swapping with my wife and her honey lavender matcha was definitely better with a unique flavor that was pleasant but not something I would order again. It seems like Cartel is more known for their coffee than their matcha and that is totally fine, but for us it was a little disappointing. We ended up finding a different place later in the day to get our matcha fix. Still, the shop has great service!

More a coffee shop than a cafe, the industrial design is attention grabbing and the service is friendly. The coffee is good although unremarkable. The small size of the shop does not invite you to leisurely enjoy a cup of joe. And the poor baristas are tucked behind a corner and a super narrow checkout counter when they are the best thing in the shop. Good vibe but average experience.

Having tried the Cartel coffee locations in Tucson, AZ, I was extremely excited to find out that there is one in Palm Springs given that their coffee is amazingly excellent. We decided to give them a shot. I tried the pomegranate ginger tonic. Oh my goodness; that drink was amazing!! It has the amazing flavor of their espresso, great ginger hit and the great flavor of pomegranate. The drink blew past all my expectations. I have been back multiple times since and have taken multiple friends and family members to try the drinks. The baristas are also very kind and helpful, always, which we always appreciate. Everyone needs to try Cartel Roasting Co. If you enjoy a good cup of coffee, you should try this location!!!!

A must have in Palm Springs for any coffee lovers. Delicious espresso drinks, a very friendly team, and at a cool location in uptown. The patio is lovely in the mornings

A cozy coffee shop with great coffee. We were in Palm Springs and craving for local coffee speciality. Found this spot opening during the holidays/xmas so we stopped by. Ordered two lattes and definitely love the taste. Onward to buy two bags of coffee beans and surprised to find out they also offer one cup of free coffee for each of bag of coffee beans purchased!

We stopped there on our way from Indio to Orange County. The staff was friendly and the drip coffee was good. We were hoping to grab a croissant, but they seem to be out of baked goods at 8:30 in the morning on a Monday. This is small shop some inside seating and some outside seating. Parking is on the street only, at least as far as we could tell. Next time, when we aren't in touch to hurry, we'll try a pour over.

After visiting the Palm Springs Peaks tram I was in desperate need of coffee. This place was close by so I decided to give it a try. My almond milk latte was delicious. The coffee was strong and didn't taste watered down. Service was quick and the barista who made my drink was kind offering dinner suggestions in downtown area. Overall, a positive experience and I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm in town.

The roast on their beans is wonderful. So much that I decided to purchase a bag of their coffee after finishing my latte. It was a bit of a shock when it rang up at $27 for a 5.2 ounce bag of beans. Thankfully it came with a free drip coffee, and my man was looking for a refill so it kept me from openly weeping lol. I get it. The tariffs are making importing everything expensive, I'm sure including coffee beans from Central America. I would've appreciated a price tag on the bags just so I could've prepared myself for that reality. Also, I'm from San Diego and we have tons of coffee shops there and I buy beans at a lot of them and most of them sell at least an 8 ounce bag and for less than that price. I thought that the coffees were great, and the pastries were really good too, although there was no option to heat them. I thought that the interior was really cute and I loved how enthusiastically and creatively they decorated for Halloween. I would return, but don't think I would buy another bag of beans from there.

As a self proclaimed coffee snob I judge a coffee shop by their cortado's thouh art weighted on the scales and found wanting for more. Great tasting coffee, I come from a place surrounded by vast amounts of iconic coffee shops, believe you me.

This is a small but cozy and super clean coffee joint. They have an enormous menu on the wall behind the front counter but a much more detailed one listing more specialized drinks on a laminated sheet. My "standard" cold brew was smooth and not bitter. Don't miss the organic simple syrup on the coffee bar. It's absolutely delicious. Yes, it's a little on the expensive side and you can thank the tariffs for that. But whatever, it's good coffee, in a cool little shop, and the counter folks are friendly. Free street parking along the main drag.

4.5 rounded up to 5 stars - Cartel Roasting has some very talented baristas. They make your traditional coffee house espresso and matcha drinks very well. Their pastries are delicious and they also have burritos. They are very dog-friendly, there is ample outdoor seating and strong Wi-Fi, what more could you ask for?

Cartel Roasting Co. is such a cute spot to grab coffee! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the coffee is delicious, and the service is always friendly. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee.

I love this place! I picked up coffee for a group and service was quick! Everyone enjoyed their drinks - iced latte, matcha, and cold brew. There's some seating inside and out.

Cortado and latte were so yum and yum. Great bean flavor. I'm not a latte guy but they recommended it and it was amazing. Totally recommend.

Quick ! Service was fantastic- i enjoyed the cold herbal tea with lemonade. We also liked the reg drip coffee The only oddity was no 20 oz size hot coffee offering, so got two 12 oz instead

Very quick service & a delicious cortado! However, $5.20 for a cortado is quite expensive, and this is coming from someone who frequents coffee shops everywhere I go. They have a variety of espresso drinks, teas, and some experimental drinks also. They sold beans (even decaf) you can take home if you'd like too. Street parking, relatively easy to get to.

Cartel Roasting Co; what a cute lil' independent-owned coffee spot! I stopped by here twice whilst at a conference and was DELIGHTED with the beverages I got both times! Over the course of my visits, I ordered a simple vanilla latte with oat milk as well as an iced matcha with oat milk and a dash of cinnamon (you've GOTTA try this combination - it is SOOO GOOD!). Both of these drinks were absolutely delicious and a great way to start my day. I've gotta shout out the staff here; they're so kind, welcoming, and their service is great! I also liked how they sold a variety of beans and t-shirts for folks to take home. Overall, I recommend this spot to folks looking for a quick cuppa tasty jitter juice or tea!

Great experience!! Walked in and had some questions and the gentleman helping was so nice!! I didn't want my matcha sweetened and the guy happily did it! They normally add vanilla whic my friend got and she said it wasn't too sweet either! Very good matcha flavor, it did get clumps shortly after we got it but I just shook it and it iced again so not a big deal! Very cute seating area inside and I love that they sold topo Chico sparkiling and Icelandic regular water which I love both of those!

Cute coffee shop in Palm Springs with an amazing aesthetic and quality coffee. Very expensive coffee and food, but worth it. I appreciated the vegan options they had available. I had an americano that was incredible and found service to be friendly and helpful. They have indoor and outdoor seating and AC! Great place to grab coffee and sit and hang out.

This coffee shop has a limited menu and is incredibly expensive. Small portions for how you much they charge. Weird and boring environment.

Coffee was just ok, and I also bought some so-called freshly roasted coffee beans that were not the best.

After searching a few spots in Palm Springs for a coffee shop, I am so glad that I stumbled across this one! The single origin cold brew (columbia beans that day) was so smooth and very easy to drink, not too acidic at all. The latte with oat was so good, I wish I bought some beans because of it! The breakfast burrito was solid, but nothing too spectacular. Brownie points for toasting both sides of the burrito though - gave it good light brunch on the tortilla. Parking can be hard, it's all street. Lots of seating inside with outlets. A+ playlist playing when I was there as well.

Got their matcha, it was very good and it's hard for me to find a good matcha in a coffee shop. The shop is small and it was extremely busy when I went ( Saturday morning) but it's definitely worth going and waiting for.

Amazing coffee flavors. We've been ordering online for 5 years with no complaints. The Give Back Blend is very good. I like to combine the light blends as well. Tasty.

I used to work in specialty coffee for well over a decade, and I'm a picky baby when it comes to my coffee and my baristas. It's a small shop, and we came on a busy day. The line was wrapped to the back of the store and to the door. As a business, you can't help if you're busy. But what you can do is manage the crowd properly, which they did. The line to order did take a while. Maybe 20 minutes. But the banter at the register was friendly, helpful, and made any of my undercaffeinated fussiness melt away. Normally, when the line to order is this long, the drinks take equally as long to come up. But no! Less than five minutes after ordering and our drinks were ready to go. This is the way. There's nothing worse than a quick line to order and a long-ass wait for your coffee once you already paid. I was super impressed. And the coffee itself? Divine. The single origin cold brew was ideal and perfectly crafted. And our lattes came with perfectly steamed milk and balanced, flavorful espresso. Well. Freaking. Done.

Teeny tiny place but actually had a good amount of seating. Iced vanilla latte was good, but didn't taste super strong or memorable. Cool location! The line was long but moved quickly.

Every time I'm at the Phoenix airport, I go to Cartel for coffee. So when I saw that they were at the hotel we were staying at, Arrive, I had to go! Cartel didn't disappoint. Highly competent and friendly baristas, and a variety of high quality beans from around the world to choose from. I enjoyed the cappuccino- perfectly balanced without a ton of foam, and the ginger turmeric latte. Perfect. My hubby stuck to the Americano and enjoyed it. They also have a variety of teas, and a matcha latte. They have baked goods and a few b'fast times, like a bfast burrito. Hubby had the blueberry muffin and said it was delicious. More like a scone than a muffin. However, for sweet, syrup flavored drink coffee lovers, they don't advertise many flavor options. Just vanilla, agave, and mocha flavors. After studying the menu I saw a lavender matcha, so they must have lavender on hand. Also a dehydrated citrus for a tonic drink. No bathroom. It's attached to a hotel, so I suppose you could get access to a bathroom if you ask. ‍ I'm staying at the hotel. Outdoor patio for cooler months. Still, it's a great spot to chill, people watch, and enjoy a high quality roast.

I don't know If it's just me, but it was hard to find coffee places not chain and more coffee roasters in palm springs. . I came here because this is the only one that caught my attention to be ok. It was great ice drip coffee or cold brew. I forgot which drink it was but it satisfy my coffee craving. . The space inside has thus high up sofa booth. It was kind of different. Not too comfy for long seating if your not tall. . I like that they have a long dining table in the middle of the room for large groups. . I like that there was plenty of street parking. The inside was cool with ac on a hot summer day. I enjoyed the experience with a great easy order and go. . The next door is a fancy boutique hotel where the restroom is, if you were looking for a bathroom. . Overall I like the the coffee here. Absolutely amazing experience with the most beautiful crew! Went the whole weekend while I was in town for Coachella and I cannot wait to return. The cafe was relaxing and welcoming and the coffee was absolutely divine!

Dropped in to purchase two bags of coffee for the BF as I was on a day trip with the family. Place itself looked really modern and cozy, and the staff was super nice and friendly. Ended up with a dark and medium roast, and it was cool of the staff to offer suggestions. Plus, a free cold brew or drip was offered, so that was a bonus surprise. I don't normally drink coffee, but I'll be sure to check them out for iced tea the next time I'm in town.

A quality coffee with a chill vibe near downtown Palm Springs. They have indoor and outdoor seating with both high top and low tables. A chess board, lots of plugs and plenty of people watching will give you something to do while you sit and sip. The letter-board always has a fun quote. Today's said "should I get my life together or should I just get a coffee and keep being sexy and chaotic?"

I usually like to stop by small coffee shops to discover and support them. However, there was no acknowledgment of our presence when we entered this one. I wanted to leave, but decided to see if the coffee might be worth it. After ordering the CCL coffee, we left immediately. I only took one sip in the car and threw away the rest; it was too sweet and had a slimy texture. It felt like a complete waste of my $8. On the other hand, the cappuccino was good, and the mocha flavor was rich. The place was empty on a Sunday morning, quiet ambiance.

So glad to find a Cartel Roasting while in Palm Springs! When I am in Phoenix I love stopping by to grab a cup of coffee thanks to my girlfriend! So seeing it here was definitely a treat! It definitely was a crowd pleasure too given the massive long line so early in the morning. The shop is a little small but they do offer outdoor seating as well. As always, they offer a nice variety of things to choose from off their menu. I got an iced dirty chai and it was really good. I always enjoy going into a coffee shop and smelling the fresh coffee beans fill the air. Music was nice and pleasant. What a great way to start the day.

Great coffee! I'd return when passing by. Their coffee (americano) was super smooth and strong like it! Also go flavored obleas, which was the first time I had seen that! Service was good, and ambience was nice given its boogie location.

My husband and i found this place a few days ago (we are visiting from Oregon), and it blows the other coffee roasters here out of the water! The coffee and espresso are amazing, but their single origin cold brew is one of the best we've ever tasted. Definitely go here if you love great third wave coffee!

First time stopping into this quaint cafe. The location was very clean and the baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer questions and give suggestions. I am glad that they did since the drink I got was amazing! I will definitely be back next time in PS.

Decided to try a new coffee shop this morning. Love that they have outside seating! The inside is a little small so keep that in mind if you are coming with a big group. I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk and sweetener. I did enjoy my drink however I wish it was a little sweeter. Will be coming back to try out the coffee next time! The service was great all smiles and very welcoming.

Worth the stop! It's a small coffee shop, but they're seating inside and seating outside. I came here at 7:30 in the morning and grabbed a vegan burrito along with the CCL and sat on the patio with no one else around and just enjoyed the weather. Service was pretty quick as well!if you're looking for a spot that isn't in the busyness of downtown, come here!

Really tasty coffee and matcha (the autumn spiced matcha is super yum! I recommend getting less sweet) and the staff is friendly and helpful! The downside is that the straws are terrible!!! I've had many eco-friendly straws as a California-dweller but these are just so bad. We broke 2 straws just trying to open them and then two more after taking a sip. After my drink sat for 15 minutes while driving, the straw broke and could not longer be used. Maybe this was just a bad batch but it really tainted the experience!

Didn't hate it or love it - super neutral experience. Offering hipster energy and solid customer service, I can see why this place is a draw especially for the neighboring hotel. Contrary, the tight interior and patio facing the noisy street were turn offs for me. I also ordered my latte on a whim and selected agave syrup which was alright. Next time, I will opt for a more familiar flavor. Inside you will find a very large table to work remotely on, a chess board and a few other single tables. There is also a small selection of merchandise for sale such as coffee tumblers, t-shirts and mugs on the interior. Note: Lattes come with 4 shots of espresso so get ready for a jolt of energy. Per your request, they can make it with two shots. Blast off, folks!
