It's easily the best Mojito and Steak I've ever had. I can't complement this place enough. We had fantastic service and food, and the atmosphere was top class. I got a reservation 60 days out, at 6:30 pm out for my wife and 3 kids. We were able to walk right up and go in within about 5 minutes. The host led us up the elevator and to our table on the way he told us some of the history of the Carthay Circle Restaurant. I had the Char Siu New York Steak. $70 and worth every penny. The staff were very friendly, the place was spotless clean. The lighting was soft and warm, and even with it being quite full, the noise was very respectful and low. Honestly, I didn't even feel like we were at Disney California Adventure from the very second we stepped through the threshold. 10/10 would recommend, this luxury comes at a steep cost. We will absolutely be back.

Food: 4* Service: 5* Ambiance: 5* Enjoyed lunch here with colleagues. Unlike pre-Covid, there is inky a prix fixe menu for lunch on weekdays at $62 per person. However, you get to select an appetizer and a main course. Appetizers: I ordered the green chickpea appetizer (think falafel), it was tasty and surprisingly ample with 4 discs provided in a roasted red pepper sauce with pomegranate seeds 5*). My partner had the gazpacho, which was melon (cantaloupe) based. It wasn’t orange but tasted of cantaloupe and was white-ish. He said it was good and gave it 4*. A friend ordered the prosciutto bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes. She said it was fresh and juicy but small (4*). Main course: I ordered the chicken schnitzel. It was crispy and tasty, well seasoned and ample with two large flat chicken breasts it was filling (5*). My partner had the Santa Maria marinades trip-tip. I had a piece and it was pretty well seasoned, a good temperature, but was a very small portion (4 small end pieces). He and I would give it 4*. Another friend ordered the shrimp with gochujong and friend rice. They provided 4 lathe tail on jumbo shrimp and it was tasty. She gave it 5*. I tasted it and I agree. Dessert: the only option was a Mickey ice cream ‘pop’. It was fantastic. It tasted like a Ferrero Roche candy (minus the chocolate) over a vanilla ice cream scoop. As one would imagine, it was delectable. 5*

Cheese bread - 3/5 (should've been warm, not cold) Pork chop - 3/5 (overcooked) Chicken - 4/5 Paella - 4/5 Steak - 3/5 (underwhelming) One of the more upskilled restaurants in Disney if you're looking to enjoy a nice meal. Dishes are hit or miss, but I liked it overall. The main dining room is beautiful, and the service was good.

Our party of ten had the pleasure of dining at the Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney's California Adventure, thanks to a wonderful concierge at the Grand Californian Hotel who secured our reservation. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional service and promptly seated indoors on the elegant second floor. While the entire experience was delightful, the standout dish of the evening was undoubtedly the incredible pork chop. It was truly a showstopper – enormous, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. I wholeheartedly recommend sharing this magnificent cut with another person! My own entrée, the fresh black sea bass, was equally impressive. It was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. Carthay Circle certainly offers a sophisticated dining experience and a taste of old Hollywood glamour within the park. While this was the most expensive meal we had during our Disney vacation, the quality of the food and the overall ambiance were undeniable. Our only minor note is that the prices felt a touch disproportionately high, but the exceptional pork chop alone makes this a restaurant worth experiencing. We'll definitely be recommending Carthay Circle to others!

We were excited to try out this place as it was our first time. Made reservations for 3 instead of for 2 because they can sit for fewer people, they can't sit for more people. Somehow the app didn't have any availability for 2, but there is for 3 so that's a little trick we learn. We also insisted on wanting to sit outside as we felt it was too dark inside and it's more appropriate for cocktail/alcohol drinking than eating. We came to eat. For appetizers we had moroccan roasted chicken meatballs and the spring roll with the spicy crab. Definitely thumbs up for the meatballs and thumbs down for the spring roll. The spring roll wasn't bad but nothing out of the ordinary to me. It tasted like something I can grab from grocery store. The entrees we went for the north african roasted organic chicken breast and sea bass with soba and kombu broth. We appreciated the fact that the chicken breast was still moist, not dried out at all. But for the price that we got charged, we expected more taste wise. Maybe this place is fitting for those looking to relax and drink some alcohol after bright sunny day in the park, but it is not to feed you full. It has upscale look and price, but if you're looking to get fed then maybe go elsewhere. My Chef Remy could cook better :) Service was great! We asked to be seated outside and at first we were seated inside. Felt way too dark and uncomfortable if we stayed (had to bent down to eat because the table is coffee table height.) So then we were asked to move back to the lounge area before they can find us a table outside. Once they did, it was high chair. Again, felt uncomfortable so we asked if we could sit at the regular chair as we saw there were 2 tables available. They were able to do so and have us moved. So for their service, 10/10! For the atmosphere, the inside is not my cup of tea. The outside is much better as we get to do people watching, that feeling that you're still in the park, got to see characters walking around. It was much more exciting to us sitting outside. All in all, it was an ok experience. We will not go back though. Only recommending this if you're looking for a place to drink and sit inside with a lot less kids crying/screaming noise level and if you want to do some people/characters watching when sitting outside.

I’ve been there twice recently, and the service was phenomenal. The hostess took time to give some details around the restaurant, which is beautiful, and the server assistant was very attentive. The service both times was prompt and personable, and I felt that they really cared about the customer. The food was amazing, I had a tuna dish that was huge, and a fish of the day another time that was a seafood cioppino that was fantastic. I love getting the bread as well, and my daughter devoured all her food. The pear martini which I got both times was phenomenal. I will always make time to go back there no matter how busy the park is.

Very bougie, but casual. Food and service is good, and expensive. Don't be worried about coming in hot and sweaty from the park, every one does.

Google
Make sure to make a reservation to avoid long wait. This is a beautiful sit-down place, and it's very helpful after a long day of walking. The food is good, a little bland but a great experience. We sat at the Buena Vista room. It's like a VIP section. it's a very nice and quiet and amazing service. I would come here again.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Located in CA Adventure, this is a beautiful place to beat the theme park heat and getting some rest. Modeled after an old Hollywood theater, this place has the touch of old Hollywood glamor. This has a beautiful mural of Snow White on the ceiling in the main dining room. The cocktails are amazing--my fave is the Pimms Punch! The Spanish croquets are amaaaaazing!!! We split the steak, and it was perfectly cooked and tender and delicious. And make sure to order the rolls--they are yummy!!! The service here is top notch. Your drinks are never empty and they really take care of you. This place is totally worth the price. The ambiance, the flavors, and the service are fabulous! Would def come back again!

Yelp
Carthay Circle is my favorite restaurant across all of Disneyland/California Adventure. It's beautiful - between the centerpiece overflowing with flowers in the middle of the restaurant, to the tall vase of lilies in the front of the restaurant, Carthay Circle is Hollywood opulence at its finest. I came here to celebrate my birthday - and what a great decision that was! Holly was our server, and by far one of the most professional, competent people working in hospitality that we have experienced. Our starters were the squash blossom stuffed with short rib (incredible) and the shrimp a la plancha. Both were amazingly balanced, creative, and wonderful ways to start the meal. We also ordered the soul-reviving chicken brodo with tortellini and of course the incredible pork chop that keeps us coming back. The cherries and romanesco perfectly accompanied the thick cut pork chop. To top it all off, Holly beautifully hand-wrote a happy birthday button for me. She made the entire dinner a memorable, top-notch experience from start to finish. Anyone whose table is taken care of by Holly, and Carthay Circle as a restaurant, should consider themselves incredibly lucky - servers like her are few and far between. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The service from our waiter James was amazing. His knowledge of the history, how the movie of Snow White saved Disney making $8 million and giving him the capital for the theme park, plus his skill and engagement made this an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was pretty good. We got four starters, the shrimp, squash with short rib, the mussels and scallops, and potatoe croquettes. The shrimp over a crispy rice was good, but shrimp were smaller (28s?) and over cooked. The mussels and small scallops had the best flavor but scallops were over cooked; the croquettes were good, crispy, decent flavor, and were the largest portion; the zucchini with short rib was odd as the components didn't really mesh. The dinner we got the fish which was really good; the New York steak which was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, kids pasta was good, and the pork chop was amazing. Now, we ordered lamb shank for my daughter and a breaded patty which tasted like veal, and if thru a white gravy on would have thought it to be chicken fried steak. Very disappointed in that one. Don't get that one for sure. For the drinks got the bloody mary which was very good and the most unique tasing BM I have ever had; dbl pear martini which we loved; regular vodka martini which was good; then at desert we got the expresso martini which was outstanding and a 20 year tawny port which was also good. All of the deserts of lemon cheesecake, chocolate pastry, and the sorbet were good. The noise level and ambiance was good. They had some side rooms which may be available if wanting something more romantic, but good place for kids too. Speed of service was pretty good Overall the experience was really good. Our waiter James made it a meal to remember, and the food was good, shanks? were disappointing, and drinks good. If wondering, this was about an overall $650 meal for four adults and a child.

Yelp
The service is good, the experience is worth it and the restaurant itself is really nice. The restaurant is also quiet and comfortable. The food portions were not that much and the food was good, but nothing amazing. It is expensive and for what you get, it's not worth coming back. As a first time experience, I say it's worth it just to try out and be inside.

Yelp
Food and service were exceptional. Had an amazing experience. We got seated in the main dining area and it was lively but felt welcoming at the same time.

Yelp
Spanish Potato Croquettes 10/10 this was so good! The outside was crispy and the potato inside was so creamy, packed with flavor. Warm Cheddar Parker House Rolls 9/10 I love bread and butter when it's complimentary but I love it even more when it's off the menu. The quality just hits different. The bread was so fresh, soft, pillowy. I wasn't the biggest fan of the orange flavored butter, but the regular butter is pre-softened and elevated the bread. Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes 10/10 usually mashed potatoes is either chunky, creamy and super mashed, but this is both. I was so happy to have leftovers here. Pork Chop 8.5/10 it was really good but the juiciness wasn't even throughout, some parts were super juicy and tender while some parts were drier. Nonetheless, flavor is great. Rose soda 10/10 I'm not big on soda but this was really good! The rose flavor was prominent but not overpowering. And not too sweet. Overall I had a 10/10 experience. Service and ambience was great, exactly what you can expect at a sit down at Disney. Our server was a real one and reminded us to use our annual pass discount towards the meal!

Yelp
Restaurant located inside the California Adventure park that has an elegant, sophisticated and classical with a magical touch of Disney. This is a place where you can relax and take a break from the chaos of the crowds and park. The seats near the entrance are round tables so it can be very tight if you have more than three people in your group with all the drinks, foods and silverwares. Other than that, the service is excellent as the server does not only do a great job serving the foods but also gives fun facts about Walt Disney and the restaurant. "Eat with your eyes first" is a perfect fit for their presentation. Every dishes are an art and it carries to the flavors. The food selection can be quite unique since they use ingredients that you don't usually have it together or not at all but trust me, it works beautifully. The flavors bursts in your mouth and everything is balanced so well.

Yelp
Beautiful & lovely restaurant in DCA. Loved all the interior decors and the chandelier. All the staffs were great, excellent service. The food were amazing, everything turned out delicious. It was a great celebration dinner at Carthay Circle with my husband.

Yelp
Ooooo you fancy huh?! :D Reservation required to dine at Cathay Circle Restaurant. It's hard to get in at this place. It's a hot spot for sure! Draws in crowds of people for a reason. The food is great. The dining experience is wonderful. Service never disappoints. They have a decent sized menu. You can find something for everyone here. Just make sure you plan way in advance and book ahead of time because reservations fill up fast for this restaurant.

Yelp
The ambiance, service and food were all wonderful. The pork chop exceeded my expectations. It was so good that my dad, friend and I all devoured it to the bone. Perfectly seasoned and cooked with just enough juice without being overly greasy. Don't be fooled by photos. The chop is huge! The tuna dish was average and I was disappointed they didn't offer any other choices. The historical beauty of this place and framed photographs felt like walking through a museum. The colors, design and lighting were beautiful.

Yelp
not my favorite fine dining in the parks but still an unique experience. mirrored after the theater in which walt premiered the first ever color animated film- snow white and the 7 dwarfs, the theater offers multiple dining rooms and even an outdoor patio overlooking the DCA fountain plaza. it's the luck of the draw to find out where you're placed. initially we thought the main dining room would be great, but it felt like there is some venting issues where the vent was making a loud airplane turbine noise the entire time, i can't imagine sitting through that the entire meal. we were off to maybe what's considered the oscars room? adjacent to the patio. it was nice but there's no sense of privacy as every conversation echoes through the room. food was ok- salmon and rice was a little undercooked. the parker house roll and the mickey hazelnut pop tho, will definitely come back for those. drinks were ok, albeit the full bar. again, still a nice experience.

Yelp
Every time I come here, it's spectacular. The restaurant is gorgeous, food is always on point and the staff makes the whole experience beyond amazing. My usual waitress is Holly (who is sensational) but last night Kyle was our server. He was the best. He helped pick out a dish because I could not decide and he turned the night into a core memory. Love their alfresco menu but it was nice to go upstairs and enjoy everything!

Yelp
I have been wanting to come to this restaurant for years because it's difficult to get a reservation until one day there was a reservation available for the lounge right on my wedding anniversary November 2nd! I was so happy! When my husband and I went to our reservation and we sat down in the lounge we kindly requested if there was a possibility to get a table in the restaurant. Our waiter said he was going to try to see if there was a table available. When the waiter came back he said there was a table available! We were so happy!! The restaurant: When we went upstairs we were so impressed with the elegance and the beautiful decor. The waitstaff: Our waitress Debbie was amazing!! She was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She made us feel so special on our special day! We started off with the Carthay Wedge Salad to share, we enjoyed the pieces of apple, candied bacon, blue cheese and pecans. Yes it was delicious !! My husband ordered the Signature Thick Cut Pork Chop and it was thick and juicy. It was soooo good!! I ordered the American Heirloom Turkey Schnitzel was ahhhmazing!! The conclusion: If you want to have an amazing experience you need to come to Carthay Circle. It's elegant and beautifully decorated. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious!! My husband and I were very impressed. This is a great place to have a celebration meal!!

Yelp
Seating is upstairs and they have their own restroom. Drink menu is the same as the lounge so that's nice plus more wine etc. We shared the shrimp appetizer and it was really good, has a bit of a kick but really good flavor. We shared the mashed potatoes which is so good and creamy (10/10), Brussel Sprouts were ok 5/10, bread was horrible and not soft and like burnt cheese 0/10, and the prime rib was ok, got cold really quick and hard to cut but the piece was thick and the garnish was ok. Overall good dinner but not my favorite place to eat at the Disneyland/DCA resort. We had reservations at 4:45 and waited an hour to order our drinks. Meh

Yelp
Everything was amazing. From the food to the service and the ambiance. We loved every thing about this restaurant. The food and drinks were amazing We will definitely come here again Now we did have reservations for 3:30 and we didn't get seated until 4 pm because we wanted to sit inside. Now that defeats the purpose of having reservations. But we were still happy. And we were being patient. Our waiter was amazing full of energy

Yelp
Update: 12/14/23 We always look forward to dining at the Carthay Circle when we visit Disney. Cathay's seasonal menu is always special. The service is always consistently excellent when we dine at Carthay Circle. Crispy Gochujang Fried Shrimp - 5/5 The appetizer consist of spicy Cucumber Salad, Hajiki, Yuzu-Tahini Vinaigrette dressing. The fried shrimp was very succulent, tender and tasty. A great starter selection. Braised Tender Beef "Pierogies" Stroganoff -5/5 This seasonal starter selection was very good. The beef Pierogies are delicate dumplings filled with a savory beef mixture with Carthay's special spices, with a stroganoff sauce to kick up the flavor. Just the thing for a cold winter evening to make your tummy purr before your entree. Mediterranean Mussels and Bay Scallops - 5/5 This starter consists of bay mussels and bay shrimp In a spicy Calabrian Chili Crunch Broth, with Crispy Chickpeas. A great seafood starter dish to share. 16oz "Prime Rib" Crusted with Cranberry, Orange and Rosemary - 5/5 We ordered the 16oz prime rib on this year's holiday special menu. The prime rib meat was very tender, and seasoned perfectly. The prime rib came with Cranberry-Tomatillo Salsa, and Crispy Onion Rings. A very hearty selection if you're hungry. Signature Thick Cut Pork Chop - 5/5 This is one of my favorite selections. I've ordered the signature thick pork chop for myself numerous times. The best way Carthay has prepared the thick pork chop was when they smoked the pork chop with Applewood, which resulted in the most tender, succulent pork chop I ever tasted. Currently, way they prepare the signature pork chop is it is brined for 48 hours, then fried to medium. I would order it medium rare. When the thick pork chop arrives to your table, it will be close to medium, and very moist and tender. The thick pork chop lies on a bed of Braised Cabbage, Nueske's Bacon, Celery Root Puree, and Pecan Apple Chutney. The flavors inspire the holidays. I recommend trying to get reservation for Carthay Circle for dinner. You'll find a selection on the menu that will suit your cravings!

Yelp
Service was excellent, seated in a timely manner, shown around the inside of the building, when seated lights dimmed as the sun set, staff were pleasant and helpful, cocktails served were paired well with the food, starters came quick along with the pull apart bread from the for the table section (bread was soft and fluffy, really warm, spread was delicious) main course was excellent, highly recommended experience, will be dining here again.

Yelp
90% of my experience here was perfect. From the moment I checked in, to the walk to my table, and all of the gorgeous details inside this restaurant, I was amazed by the beauty that is Carthay Circle. I came here with three friends and we intended to just dine here for the experience and vibes. We each ordered a starter to eat and shared the cheddar parker house rolls. I got the Celebration of the Farmers Market Spring Vegetables which is a convoluted way of saying salad. It was actually very delicious and I loved the addition of strawberries and pistachios. I licked my plate clean with this one. Also, the parker house rolls were served with a spicy Calabrian chili spread that paired deliciously with the soft bread. While everything was overpriced, that's what you expect dining at an amusement park, let alone dine at a 5 star restaurant in an amusement park. My only complaint was the attitude of our waitress. It seemed like she didn't want to be there and had a cold demeanor. I don't want to speak on her behalf, but just because we didn't order alcoholic bevvies or a $70 steak should not constitute a lack of service. I would have given a full 5 star review if we had a more pleasant waitress.

Yelp
After a long day at the park, we love having a nice dinner and an old fashioned. I usually don't plan ahead, so we only get here every now & then. Lucky for us, this time there was a reservation available that day. Always a pleasure to eat dinner here. Jazmine the hostess was very welcoming as she took us to our seats. Damien was great, very personable - made great recommendations and stopped by to check on us. We also enjoyed Annjet? She quickly cleared tables and got us what we needed as well as some fun conversation. The food was all delicious! We all got the 16oz Prime Rib though my daughter and I shared. Brussels Sprouts & Yukon Mash added to our dinner. We left satisfied and ready for one last ride.

Yelp
My husband and were delighted to dine at Carthay Circle restaurant and believe me it did not disappoint. We had dinner reservations and were seated fairly promptly in the main dining area. All around this dining area are private dining rooms with various Hollywood names to them. In the center is a circular dome showing Snow White's enchanted forest. Dress is casual here. Carthay Circle is modeled after the original theater that housed the premiere of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Scattered about are various pictures of Walt Disney at the premiere of the movie and with various celebrities such as Shirley Temple where he received that special Oscar that had 7 little Oscars attached to it. Take a moment to browse. it is truly fascinating. We had a very attentive and informative waitress. Knowing pretty much everything was ala carte we ordered warm cheddar bread Parker house rolls with Chili Pine Romesco butter. These alone were worth ordering. They were delicious and filling. No need to buy dessert after this one! I had the beef of NY schnitzel-never thought of doing a schnitzel with beef but it was so different. It was prepared schnitzel style and the beef was very tender. It came with warm potato salad. Almost like an early Oktoberfest. My husband had the rigatoni pasta with Italian lamb sausage. It came with flava bean and sungold tomotoes. He told me he enjoyed it very much. Meal preparation was a bit slower but good things come to those who wait. Carthay Circle also offers Al Fresco dining and reservations are hard to come by for this place. Nevertheless I was glad we were able to secure one and have a delightful dinner in CA Adventure. Located at the roundabout by Hollywood land an Buena Vista St you can see it from the park entrance.

Yelp
This was such a great experience. My girlfriends and I came here to celebrate someone's birthday. We had reservations for 5 but 6 girls actually ended up coming. We told the server of the situation and said they will see what they can do. The host accommodated our group of 6. On top of that, the service here is top notch. I didn't eat that much bc I got the sip and savor prior. But I'd def come back to try their other drinks and food!

Yelp
Loved the ambience, quiet and relaxing. Small plates all around. Favorite dish was the one I didn't think I wanted which was the salad. Very little arugula, and lots of other ingredients. Service was spot on. Very attentive. Wouldn't come here with the kids based on the price point.

Yelp
The ambiance and history is really nice here. I've eaten here twice. Once for a World of Color dining package and most recently for regular sit down dinner. We were seated in a small separate room and our waitress informed us some of the room was made with parts of the old Carthay Circle Theatre where Snow White premiered. The place is fancy, but don't worry, you won't feel out of place if you come in your casual Disneyland attire. The food is very good, but portions are on the smaller size. Come prepared to pay $$$ for the quality of food though. For some reason we thought we got free bread, but we did not. It was awkward when they came to take away our unused small appetizer plates and knives we never touched. I ordered a Wildberry Lemonade (All Natural Lemonade with flavors of Blackberry, Strawberry, Raspberry, and Blueberry with a Spritz of Purified Sparkling Water). I didn't feel like alcohol, so it was refreshing after a long day at the parks. For my entree, I got the Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Tandoori Spiced "Cauliflower Couscous", Pistachio, Charred Orange Coulis). It was delicious and I ate every last bite. It was pricey though for $52. The others in my party got the Thick Cut Pork Chop which I heard was delicious and the Sautéed Fish of the Day, which was Ahi Tuna that night. Our waitress said they had just cut into it 20 minutes before we got there. I tried a bite of it and it was indeed fresh. We shared a bowl of mashed potatoes for the table. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Whether their prices are justified to you will depend on personal opinion. The service was fantastic, the food was quality ingredients with nice presentation, the ambiance is great and you're also on Disneyland property.

Yelp
I've eaten here maybe a half dozen times, a few times upstairs in the formal dining room and also downstairs in the bar/lounge area. Service has always been gracious. The menu changes seasonally and it really aspires to be a foodie experience. I have always enjoyed the food and cocktails here. The ambiance is incredible. Below is just one menu I indulged in: *Ernest's Daiquiri - Bacardi Superior Rum, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, fresh lime & grapefruit juice, organic agave nectar, $16.75 very chilled glass- bonus! *Warm cheddar Parker House Rolls with Calabrian Chili-Pinenut Romesco, $12 *Winter Vegetable Soup scented with orange, cranberries, Turkey sausage, $17 There are many large and beautiful black & white pictures of Walt with various movie stars. Completed in 2012, this is a replica of the actual Carthay Theater (1926 - 1969), one of the most famous of Hollywood's Golden Age theaters done in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. In 1937, the original Carthay was the site of the premiere of Disney's first animated feature film, "Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" and so remains dear in the hearts of the Disney family & fans.

Yelp
My boyfriend was lucky enough to snag a last minute reservation the day went to Disney and I was so excited! I've always heard good things about it and it was always so hard to get a reservation so this felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity lol. Our reservation was at 4:40 and we showed up a bit early at around 4:30 to check in. After checking in, we were asked to sit at the waiting area and they would come up to you to bring you up. Our wait wasn't too bad, around ten minutes so we were brought in right on time! I love how accommodating they are to people with disabilities and can't go up the stairs as they also have an elevator! The girl who brought us to our seats had asked if we wanted to take the elevator or stairs and that left a great impression on me. We took the stairs and she made great conversation on the way, telling us about the restaurant since it was our first time. Upon seating, she placed the cloth napkins on our laps for us and that was enough for me to be like, "wow, 10/10 service." Our server was Aya and she greeted us quick to give us a quick rundown of the menu before leaving to let us browse the menu. Waters were also served quick! Before getting to our orders, I would just like to say, it felt so upscale in here. Ambience was fantastic and it was just overall so pretty inside. There was little things done throughout the meal that just had me going "wow." The little things: after ordering our entree, our server switched out our knives for ones that were meant to cut the specific dish which was nice. Then, when I went to the restroom, I came back to my cloth napkin folded back up. I also saw our server do the same for the table next to us when one of the guest went to the restroom! Thick Cut Pork Chop: my boyfriend got this as it Aya recommended this and it wasn't disappointing at all! It was definitely thick, but it was cooked perfectly. Super flavorful and tender. I didn't get to try the skin, but he said it had a nice crisp to it. Sautéed Fish of the Day: I had to get this because that day was salmon and I love me some good ole salmon. I thought it was pretty decent! The cabbage paired well with it and the berries added a nice tartness to it. Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes: we love our starches and this definitely didn't disappoint. It had pieces of potato skin throughout the dish and it was so thick and delicious! S'mores Bread Pudding: I don't like marshmallow and told Aya as much when she recommended this lol but she assured us that the marshmallow would be on the side and I wouldn't have to eat it so I took her at her word and wow. It was so good without the marshmallow hahah! The bread pudding itself was so moist and paired so well with the fudge sauce! Overall, I would say it was a great dining experience. It is very pricey though for the food, in my opinion. You definitely pay for the experience. I think I'd be open to try it again if we are lucky to get a reservation again, but I don't think it'll be one where I'm actively refreshing the page for a spot.

Yelp
Surprisingly not as expensive as I thought it would be but also not as good as I thought it would be. I got the pork chop and it was dry, bland, also sauce-less. We also shared a tiramisu and unlike the pork chop it was rich, a little too overwhelming on the dark chocolate and not sweet. The service was great though. Our server was very kind and attentive.

Yelp
Love this place! Great drinks, fabulous people watching and the people who work here are the best! Unfortunately like all Disneyland food places this place is ruined by the reservation system and the broken walk up process, constantly getting in to places that say there are no reservations and no bc walk ups.... Pretty lame. Had a fabulous time here last night, always get a Negroni here, they do them right!

Yelp
What?!? I wrote an entire review with a whole bunch of big words and deep thoughts and it's not here. Now it's been a few days and I'm not sure what to type. The fact that I chose to give this place five stars means that you should go here and not question it bring your wallet and your appetite. Oh and a great wine list BOOM YAAAHHH!!

Yelp
Food here can get pricey but it's filled with so many cool pictures of Walt and celebrities. The inside of this building is beautiful and you'll need reservations to get in. Reservations are very hard to get here but we randomly found a cancelation around 5:30pm on a weekday. Just keep refreshing the site and you might get lucky, don't expect weekends though. The food is overall very good we liked everything we tried. But you pay a lot for the novelty of eating here. The best way I can describe it is the food was good but service was great. Hard to say I'd be rushing to return but it's a nice date night or special anniversary dinner. Definitely nice to try if you're splurging on a vacation, but not the place the locals eat at every Friday night. The menu seems to change quite often so I recommend asking the waiters what's popular at the time. They tend to know what's popping at any given moment.

Yelp
Had a great time at Cathay today. My group dined in the lounge and enjoyed some drinks with excellent service from Serina. She was great! The meat dishes were very tasty. The pasta was just ok. Drinks were strong and tasty. Good times today and I'll be back!

Yelp
Went here last week for Mother's Day and it did not disappoint. Food was really good. The cocktail was not overly alcoholic taste which I liked. Bonus part was we got to see the Pixar fest parade at the balcony! The waiter (did not get his name ) was super attentive. We didn't have to call him for anything which is always a plus! Overall a very nice dining experience (minus my toddler had to go to the bathroom 3x bc she liked the bathroom)

Yelp
All I have to say is that I love everything about Carthay Circle Restaurant! Ive always enjoyed the ambiance, which harkens back to the early days of Hollywood and its grand haydays. The food is on point and the service impeccable! I tend to enjoy the bar as well. My hubby and pals usually find ourselves hanging out in the bar for drinks and maybe a quick starter bite or two. A shoutout to Maggie the bartender! She was so amazing to us. Always quick to check in on us and get us a new drink or an appetizer. I highly recommend making reservations before getting there.

Yelp
Ambiance is great, service is fantastic, food...not great. Ordered the thick-cut porkchop and it was horribly dry. Very disappointed considering that it's their signature dish.

Yelp
Beware of fraud being pulled at this restaurant. We split the bill in 2 and gratuity was included in the bill due to size of the party. Our card was charged for the correct amount at first but when the charge posted, it was significantly higher than expected (basically waiter added an additional $90 tip). We tried to contact the restaurant but there is no way to reach them. Were sent to Disney customer service. The first two people had no idea what to do. The next was more helpful but said it can take about 5 months to resolve this due to the back and forth required. 5 months! Also, we were threatened not to do a chargeback as we might get barred from Disney for doing so. Terrible experience. Such a waste of time to have to chase this. It looks like the staff can easily pull this type of fraud and get away with it. Ridiculous that there's no way to reach the restaurant.

Yelp
The taste of the food that I ordered was inconsistent, and the prices were way too high, in addition to charging extra for basic accompaniments including bread and a vegetable. Also, the table was bordering on being cramped for four. The salad that the server recommended was delicious, but the veal entree was so spicy that I could not eat it without drinking heavily from my glass of water. At least they did not charge extra for tap water.

Yelp
Love the decor and the food. It is a pricey option in the park but very well worth it. Our server was incredible and was patient with us, as well.

Yelp
The chicken was dry but New York steak was good but not worth $70.00 for 9 ounces. We ordered the table bread and mashed potatoes. The chicken was bland. We waited 40 minutes for our food.

Yelp
Carthay Circle had been one of my bucket list restaurants to try at Disneyland. However, getting reservations have always been a pain so when my friend luckily managed to snag one, I jumped at the chance to finally go. If you're wanting an escape from all the hustle and bustle of the parks, this restaurant makes for a cool, fancy escape with a vibe that's a cut above the rest. To start, my friend and I ordered the Warm Cheddar Parker House Rolls to share which came with Calabrian Chili-Pine Nut Romesco Butter. While this was the most I ever paid for bread service at $14, I'd say it was worth it. The rolls were so soft, fluffy and buttery and the romesco butter had a unique, smokey and complex flavor. I also ordered the Tender Braised Beef with Cavatelli Pasta while my friend got the Signature Pork Chop. We both enjoyed what we ordered and polished everything off with portion sizes being pretty decent. Styled after the original 1926 Carthay Circle Theater, the restaurant transports you to the old Hollywood Golden Age with its Art Deco design and glamour. The interior is gorgeous with its high ceilings covered in painted murals, beautiful, large floral displays and rare artifacts scattered across the restaurant. The menu items are on the pricey side but just like how there are plenty of quick, casual options at the park, there's a time and place for everything including fine dining. Overall, the food was pretty good, the ambiance even better; it's definitely a great experience and worth the effort of getting a reservation.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in DCA for the first time ever on Friday and had dining reservations at Carthay Circle. I woke up early to make these reservations when they opened up exactly 60 days prior so we were very excited to try it. Our server was Mitch and he was excellent at going through the menu and offering recommendations. We both ordered the double pear martini per his suggestion. This drink took a very long time to hit our table- we were done with our appetizer by the time we received them. He apologized and said the bar was backed up and "there's only one bartender- poor girl" but the martinis had very clearly been sitting for a while as they had lost their freshly shaken fizz. Nevertheless, the drink was a 10/10. It may be my new favorite Disney drink. We live near WDW and have had hundreds of Disney drinks so that is saying a lot. Per his suggestion we also ordered the Spanish potato croquettes. We also ordered the warm cheddar Parker house rolls because we saw them in the table beside us and they looked good. Mitch requested to take our entire order at once and assured us the kitchen would pace it out appropriately. We received our potato croquettes first and they were amazing. I'm really happy with this suggestion and would order it again. We both ordered the gnocchi and when it hit the table, there were still no rolls in sight. Or Mitch. He disappeared after taking our order and was schmoozing a table of women ordering a bottle of wine. He seemed to neglect the table beside us as well. We let the food runner know that our rolls were missing and he brought an over cooked plate of them to the table. They did not look as appetizing as the order we saw on the table beside us. I took a few bites of the gnocchi and was unimpressed. We were here for Disneyland Half Marathon weekend and thought the gnocchi would be a good Carbo-loading dish. To me it just tasted like someone combined a bunch of thanksgiving side dishes and called it a meal. Plus it was $48 which is steep for a vegetarian dish. Mitch finally came back to the table after my boyfriend had finished his meal and I let him know I did not like the gnocchi and wanted to swap it out for the fresh catch he suggested. This was no problem and he brought me the fish. I don't remember the exact type but I do remember that it was caught in Washington state. It was fantastic. One of the best fish dishes I've had at Disney. And it was the same price as the gnocchi. I should've gone with this in the first place. We spent over $200 on this meal and felt that the service did not justify the price. Mitch forgot to ring in the rolls and he disappeared on us to prioritize another table. That doesn't sit right with me when we are also deserving of attentive service. I'm sure our experience would have been drastically different had we been seated elsewhere. I would come back and sit in the lounge but I would not pay $200 again for shitty service. There's no excuse for this at Disneyland.

Yelp
Although it's difficult to get a reservation, I can understand because the place seems small but beautiful. I enjoyed the ambiance tremendously. It's a great place to cool down and have a few drinks with friends. The food is on the pricey side. I wasn't too impressed with the food, but the drinks were fabulous. Our waiter was lovely and engaging. He checked up on us constantly, and we never felt ignored. Although I wouldn't really come back for the food, I would definitely come back for the drinks, the ambiance, and the service.

Yelp
My partner & I managed to snag a last minute reservation & we were so excited since we've never been here before! We were greeted by the host with the best attitude & she made conversation with us, which is always appreciated. She taught us some history about the restaurant since it was our first time here. We never got her name, but her customer service was excellent. We sat down and we met our server (again, didn't get his name either, but he was an older gentlemen). Everything was going so well until we ordered wine. After he checked our ID's, we were met with subpar service. We have gone to a great deal of fancy restaurants as young adults in our early 20's, but we felt like we were being judged. After that, we only saw our server 2-3 times. The SAME SERVER offered much better service to the table next to us & they even received their food much earlier than we did--& they ordered the same entrees. Every single table near us got their water refilled while we sat there with empty glasses. Never have we felt such discrimination. My partner and I were so disappointed. We had to wave our server down for more water and our tab after waiting for 15-20 minutes with empty plates. There is no reason why we should be met with judgment and bad service after doing nothing but trying to enjoy a nice meal after a long day at the parks. The food was good, but not the best. Downtown Disney has better food options for better prices. Definitely going to avoid coming here again.

Yelp
Not my kind of decor or food, but they execute it well. Their claim to fame is the pork chop, which is marinated for hours prior to being cooked. I was amazed at how they got such a thick cut of pork chop to be tender, fully cooked, and juicy all at the same time. I really don't prefer pork chops, but I cannot deny that this is the meal to get here. The interior is nice and seems kind of old-fashioned which isn't typically my style but clean overall.

Yelp
This location has a rotating menu, so be mindful a favorite will likely not stay around! Though that can bother me at times, I love the absolute freshness you can count on with a seasonal menu. The cocktails are delightful to pair with your meal and I also enjoy Al Fresco for a lighter fare at times, though the ambiance is definitely better at the actual restaurant. Regardless of which you dine with, you can count on amazing service! The best cocktails are made by Jessica, Aaron, and Maggie. Love when I see them whipping up the cocktails and can't wait to return.

Yelp
Looking for a classy, sit down, quiet restaurant while in Disney's California Adventure (DCA)? This is the place to visit. Best piece of advice is to try to get a reservation, we'll before your trip. The Hubby and I like coming here mid day to give our tired feet a place to rest and our stomach to get satiated. The cocktails a pretty on point and the food is pretty delicious. Their menu changes seasonally. We ordered: * old fashioned: clear ice cube (check!) smooth flavor? (Double check!!!) * tequila Daisy: pretty presentation and a floral flavor. * the roasted broccolini with a parm mousse (don't knock it till you try it): it was topped with toasted pine nuts and what appeared to be a combo of a mousse/foam, all the flavors combined gave the perfectly roasted broccolini a wonder buttery popcorn flavor * the beef of New York schnitzel, essentially a butterflied New York strip that's pan fried: the meat was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and perfectly fried--the breading did not fall off the meat which is a sign of a skilled chef! This was paired with roasted potatoes, greens and small peppers. * chocolate choux: hard shelled chocolate covered choux filled with chocolate cream and garnished with raspberry. Although it was tasty, I don't know if I'd order this again or would just rather hop into the crazy cones for a soft serve in cars land. Overall, the dishes were absolutely delicious! And our server Jill went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable.

Yelp
One star for the ambiance, one star for the good customer service. The food was absolute garbage. The only food that was good was the bread and the potato croquettes. Appetizers: Broccolini: it was so hard that we couldn't even chew it, had to use a knife to cut into smaller pieces. Cheese tart: garbage Potato croquettes: only hot and delicious item here Entrees: Mushroom ravioli Rigatoni with lamb sausage Both entrees tasted very similar like plane food. The food tastes exactly how it looks. We couldn't even eat it and had to send it back. They want about $50 per entree. Garbage, save your time and money and don't come here. Overhyped. I would take the fried chicken at plaza inn any day over this.

Yelp
Our dining experience at Carthay Circle was exquisite. We made a reservation ahead of time (highly recommend) and the staff was flexible to add two more people the morning of when we got into the park. Once seated, our server was friendly & made us feel special celebrating a birthday. The whole theme of the restaurant is old Hollywood and you can ask about any of its history to the staff. I enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay but their cocktails are a specialty (my friend recommended the old fashion). Our food as truly delicious. Can't go wrong with any dish. Thank you Carthay Circle for making our Disney dinner both memorable & beautiful!!

Yelp
The reservation system was such that we checked in two different ways but were still missed and did get seated for about 30 minutes. We were then seated in an offshoot room that was a completely different environment than the other rooms as advertised- this was old and shabby. The food was way too expensive for what you get. By the prices, we expected greatness and everything was mediocre. It wasn't horrible, but really not impressive at all. The people were nice but unfortunately this was not worth the time or cost.

Yelp
Carthay Circle's Carthay Manhattan with rye is what introduced me to the world of rye and bourbon. They make THE BEST Manhattan I have ever had. I love it so much, I had my husband learn how to make it! Carthay Circle's Manhattan is made with: Bulleit Rye Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth Angostura Bitters Luxardo Gourmet Maraschino Cherries (I can never go back to eating normal cherries!) Hot tip: If you're able to sit at the bar, you can watch them make Ice Spheres or kindly ask if they can show you! They use an ice ball press and it's pretty dang cool. There would always be a line to get into the bar prior to COVID and with the latest reservation policy it is even more difficult to get into restaurants at Disneyland. I highly encourage to make a reservation if you are planning to visit to avoid any headache of waiting or getting turned away.

Yelp
Great ambiance! This was the fanciest restaurant I've been to at Disneyland/DCA. I'm pretty sad it will be closing for a bit due to remodeling. They have a classy menu that is very meat based. This is definitely on the pricier end, I believe our bill was more than our meal at the blue bayou. Our total was $108 without tip and after our inspire key discount. The star of the show was the rolls. The sauce included with the roles was to die for. The bread was so fluffy and pulled apart so easily. It was our first time ever trying schnitzel, and it was great. The meat was so tender that a knife wasn't even needed! The Japanese cloud cheesecake had a great flavor as well. I just wish it was a bigger portion. It had lots of great textures. The broccolini was pretty typical broccolini. I liked the pine nuts a lot. The butter on top melted into a liquid pretty quickly. I'm not sure if this was meant to be served hot, but it was lukewarm. Our server was an older gentleman, I can't remember his name but he was so funny and friendly. We were accidentally brought out a Shirley temple, and he comped it for us which was so nice! Overall, this was a really nice experience. Reservations are hard to get but much much better than the lounge area downstairs or outside dining. Would definitely come back for a special occasion if it hasn't been closed yet!
