The new Carver Neighborhood Market adjoins the Community Grounds Coffee Shop in South Atlanta. Boy, is it ever nice, and a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! It's a REAL grocery store that HAPPENS to be convenient- that makes it different from a traditional convenience store, get it?
Clean, well lit, FRIENDLY staff to HELP you, and get ready for this- FRESH PRODUCE (what?!), yes, not just a singular tomato or banged up banana, but real produce (plural!), COOLERS with choices of milk products, an ORGANIC SECTION (yes, you read correctly), and well stocked shelves of groceries- ALL IN THE 'HOOD!
Historic SOUTH ATLANTA! At the corner of Jonesboro and McDonough. Off of Lakewood Ave., 3 blocks from Carver High School.; walking distance from Villages at Carver; Turner Field area; around the block from Hank Aaron Drive; what's up Pittsburgh! Chosewood! Peoplestown! SWAT!
You have to come visit, and SEE for yourselves this model of success for an inner city grocery store success story. People WILL do better IF there are better, accessible, OPTIONS. This area is said to be one of the "next" areas for growth and redevelopment. What better way to attract that than with food options that are easily accessible? No other inner city neighborhood has been successful with this model. It's not easy. It's a business. It has to be sustainable and at least marginally profitable to stay afloat, even though it is operated by a NON-PROFIT (cool, right?). However, the residents of this community NEED this establishment, so it'll be important to get (and maintain) LOTS of foot traffic, and DAILY shoppers, like you and your pals- taking advantage of convenience, competitive pricing, and the desire to support GOOD at the same time!
Come through- historic South Atlanta- the Southside is the right side!
