Brazil. Rio de Janeiro.
We were in the Botanic Park and decided to check out this restaurant across the street. They have a very beautiful terrace, green and well-maintained, but unfortunately, there were only seats inside. We were also drawn in by the fact that they brew their own beer. The interior is simple but nice.
Food:
First of all, we tried the beer. We went with the strong ale. My husband knows a lot about beers and he really enjoyed this one. It had a rich, balanced, and full-bodied flavor with a slight bitterness on the aftertaste. We chose a sausage pizza to go with the beer, but it turned out to be a calzone, which is probably a plus. The dough was thin and crispy, with a lot of filling, tasty sausage, and cheese. The pizza was cooked perfectly! They have a professional wood-fired oven in the open kitchen.
Service:
The service was decent, but it was a bit slow. We had to flag down our waiter a few times.
Conclusion:
I recommend this restaurant, even though it’s hard to judge the entire menu based on just the pizza. However, the restaurant atmosphere, the local beer, everything gave us a positive experience.
