The 10 Best New Restaurants in Rio de Janeiro | Eater

"It’s a bar, a deli, a coffee shop, a brewpub, and a jazz club, all mixed together in a charming 18th-century building located on the grounds of the Jockey Club race track and redesigned to host Casa Camolese. The all-day restaurant is the right place for an early-bird lunch or a nightcap, for a tap beer in the afternoon or a cup of coffee anytime. Salumi, cheeses, and breads (from the famous Slow Bakery) are handmade or come from esteemed local producers. The bar offerings include signature cocktails and craft beer on tap — brewed in loco. Located in front of Jardim Botânico, Casa Camolese is as beautiful as it is buzzing." - Rafael Tonon

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The view was incredible, and with the rain pouring that day, it turned into one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had.

If in Rio do not miss this place - food, ambience, service - excellent ! Come for lunch or dinner / different vibe. In the evenings there is live music. It overlooks the horse racing track so if you are lucky ( like we were ) you can walk from there to mingle with the locals and watch horse racing.

Such a vibey and delicious spot tucked right alongside the horse races! The atmosphere is cozy yet chic, with beautiful landscaping and thoughtful decor that gives it a natural, stylish feel. Great bar, Manouche, downstairs with all sorts of eventos. Also a lounge outside—perfect for a laid-back drink or a lively evening out. Loved the flow of the space and the unique setting. A hidden gem!

I was really looking forward to eating here after it came highly recommended. I ordered the fish with coconut rice, but what I received was a creamy cheese risotto with fish. That was a problem because I have a severe shrimp allergy, and I believe there may have been shrimp in the dish as my mouth started to itch immediately after taking a bite. When I tried to explain this to the waiter, he made me feel incredibly foolish, as if I was being difficult for asking to have the dish remade. The poor service and potential cross-contamination were extremely disappointing.

Everything here was made fresh—the starters, entrees, and dessert. The burrata ravioli melts in your mouth. You can tell the pasta is made fresh in house—has a nice bounce to it. And the desserts are actually a thing here. Recommend the moist chocolate cake, which comes out with thick chocolate gravy warm on your tongue. Recommend splitting that 4-6 ways because it’s so rich. Quick and attentive service. Friendly staff with a smile. Lively ambiance with a lot of customers chattering. Not crazy. Great for families or young couples on a first or second date.

As a tourist from US I found the place more special (vibe, service and ambiance) than any other place in Rio i've visited. It's on the pricey side but it was worth it just to escape the carless service and beach like atmosphere that you usually get in Rio's restaurants. Good place for a romantic date.

Beautiful place, great stuff! So green in garden! Next to hippodrome!

Really delicious! We chose ravioli and fish from the chef - our respects. The crumble with ice cream for dessert is also worthy. The coffee may not be the best, but everything else is top!
