A Series of Popular Restaurants Hit by ‘Brazen’ Gunpoint Robberies [Updated] | Eater NY
"Outside a West Village restaurant, Carbone, on June 18 two men on a moped confronted a diner at peak dinner hours (around 8:45 p.m.), aimed a firearm and demanded his Patek Philippe, ultimately making off with the man’s approximately $100,000 watch; Eater reached out to Major Food Group for more information." - Luke Fortney
Delicious craft Italian food within a comfortable atmosphere with reasonable prices.
I took my mom here last night and she couldn’t believe that she had never been in before. We really enjoyed ourselves! The host and the servers were really nice.
The atmosphere has a really warm feel to it and the place was crowded but we were still able to be seated immediately on a Saturday night.
Pictured is the spinach appetizer in olive oil. Meatballs and eggplant appetizer and the chicken piccata dinner.
Next time we will try the lasagne.

9/20/25. I’ve eaten here a few times before, and the chicken piccata has been excellent. I ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce “to go” tonight. When I got home, it was spaghetti with a very small amount of meat sauce, and it was the quality of a frozen microwave meal. Very, very disappointing!

Classic restaurant with strong menu. Neighborhood style and classic service. Lasagna was a star.

My boyfriend and I first visited tonight and it was such a lovely dining experience. We ended up staying an hour after eating just to talk and enjoy the homey atmosphere. The atmosphere makes you feel at home and the food was absolutely delicious (I got the veal Parmesan with vodka sauce instead of marinara). It’s much different from the “swanky” beat and path of most restaurant vibes in Raleigh. But I truly think that’s what makes it such a gem.

Old school Italian American food. Nice portions. Great spot to celebrate with family and good friends. Prices are decent. They now have a bar as well.

Portions small, I got the chicken Milanese. No sauce just lemon flavored oil. Chicken dry and tasteless. Will not be going back

The food isn’t great but it might be due to the prices being on the lower end. I ordered the baked ziti and it came with one individual slice of cheese on top that wasn’t even fully melted. I was underwhelmed but for the price I would say the quality is not too unreasonable.
The service however was pretty bad :( the hostess was so rude it’s not even funny. The waitress wasn’t very friendly either.

Enough said.
