We came twice and enjoyed it quite a bit both times. We read a review where the owner responded, so we had to check it out. The food is amazing, the daily catch and the chicken both were flavorful. The music is also amazing. We were treated to some talented local bands, one singer was 16, and seemed like an Allanis or Rihanna. When you go, be sure to find Pedro the super friendly owner and ask him about his first time in Cabo Verde!

What a lovely dinner we had ! We sat on the balcony with the view on the sea at sunset ! The staff has been super friendly with us and our daughter (even though the service is not the fastest). The food was super good : - the octopus is one of the best I ever had - the catch of the day was super tasty - for our daughter, we took the Ham and Cheese Pasta and they were good too. Given the quality of the fish and seafruits we had, we can highly recommend this restaurant !

Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We came on a Friday and there was live music. A bit too loud indoors but perfect on the terrace. We ordered two different fish of the day, one was great but the tuna was overcooked. The baked potatoes were quite plain. The yam puree was great.

We had two very different experiences here. First time we enjoyed a great dinner and an impressive band and singer. The second time the band was less than expected. The food was also not what we had experienced a week before. The meat fritters are made of goat meat, which requires an acquired taste. The owner kept insistng that it was made of veal. Avoid to eat the Francesinha! You will suffer a sudden.heart attack very soon. The dish is out of balance, greasy and nothing to look forward to.

It was a good decision to sit on the terrace despite the noise from the cars. The food was good, but not as good as expected & overpriced compared to other locations on Santa Maria (Sal).

Ευχαριστούμε πάρα πάρα πολύ. Excellent food fantastic music and a very friendly environment. Special thanks to the owner who treated us with the cape Verde/Portuguese hospitality. We definitely recommend it. Eleni and Vasiliki with a lot of love from the island of Cyprus!

Excellent restaurant, slightly more expansive than elsewhere but this is nothing compare to the quality of the dishes, service, see view, friendship and music. Not to compare with the mediocrity of most of the other restaurants in town. Plus I was missing 200esc. for the taxi and they kindly offered it to me… more than perfect. Muito obrigada de novo.

We stayed a week in Mindelo and visited few main restaurants suggested by various guides, but nothing can beat Casa Da Morna, run by host Pedro Fernandes. Pedro has exquisite taste in setting the menu and decorating his restaurant. Just conversation with him worth a visit to this place. We learned a lot about Mindelo and people, also details about the fish and food preparation. We ordered appetizers: ceviche and traditional octopus salad. Both were superb. Having mango in ceviche was a pleasant surprise as well as the absence of hot peppers, usually accompanying Peruvian or Mexican ceviche. We tasted fish, mango and greens! Then we had grilled fish and squid. All portions were very generous and cooked to perfection. We could taste fish and enjoyed every bit of it. Unlike in other places, the grilled fish was deboned and it was nice to eat, without extra fighting! Instead of wine we ordered a liter of white sangria. What a treat! They added also maracuja, water melon, something we never tried before. The service was super fast and courteous. The staff knew what they were doing. The price was similar or maybe a bit more than in few other places, but the quality of food and service makes Casa da Morna the best place in Mindelo for a fine dining. Of course, if you know what fine dining means! :)
