The Best Restaurants in Oregon’s Willamette Valley | Eater Portland

"Open since 2018, this Woodburn restaurant specializes in Mexican soups sided by puffy, golden handmade corn tortillas. Pozole and menudo are ideal for sweating out a hangover, while caldo de res or caldo de camaron offer homestyle comfort. Beyond soups, the restaurant also offers heaping plates of chicken mole, as well as tacos with handmade tortillas, picaditas, and tamales." - Katherine Chew Hamilton

First time here, and I was excited to have some traditional caldos like my abuelita used to make, and I was not disappointed! The caldo de res was flavorful, and the beef was super tender. Corn on the cob, carrots, green beans, and it came with what tasted like house made tortillas. I asked for a side of arroz and it was perfect! We also tried the pozole, which was not the typical red version. It was even better! Heary portions of shredded chicken, todtadas (I had the option of that or tortillas), and all the fixings! The kid had the carne asada quesadilla, and it was stuffed with tasty steak and gooey cheese! Last but not least, we got to try the tamales, courtesy of the guy running the front since it was our first time in! One chicken mole and one rajas con queso. I can't decide which one was my favorite! I'm definitely coming here again! I saw a sign for Albindigas on Wednesday, and I'm making that happen one day!

Was looking for a good Mexican restaurant to eat. The food was delicious and flavorful. The cashier/waitress was friendly and gave us two free 32oz watermelon drinks and a sample of tamales, which were amazing.

A great place with amazing food. The lengua was the best I've had since I've moved to Oregon. Portion sizes are large and the tortillas are so good too. Definitely recommend giving it a shot. I was blown away.

A fairly decent Mexican cuisine in Woodburn, right on Pacific Highway. The service was great and the food was brought out pretty quickly, after we ordered them. You have to go up to the counter to order, and there was a short line. We had the Enmoladas and burritos. The Enmoladas was an interesting dish, kind of a hybrid between enchiladas and mole. They let us have a a taste of it before we ordered, which was nice. The vegetarian burrito was fresh and tasty, with some hot sauce. The horchata was good as well. The place was fairly busy and somewhat crowded for a late afternoon lunch on a weekend. There is plenty of parking, in the strip mall, where this restaurant is located.

I had to stop off at this gem even though it was 20 minutes out of my way. I had a chorizo, carne asada, egg, potato and cheese burrito and it was amazing. Fresh tortilla was perfect. Salsas were incredible and the people even better. Eat here, support local, its all from scratch. Everything looks great and I will be back to try it all.

After spending the day at the tulip farm, we stopped by Casa De Caldos—and wow, what an amazing way to end the day! We came all the way from Bend, Oregon, and the service was incredible. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. The caldo was absolutely delicious—so comforting and full of flavor. You can tell they put their heart into their food. Highly recommend this spot—we’ll definitely be back!

Service was great and ambience cozy & family friendly. Nice menu of caldos (soups/stews) and other a la carte items. I had 2 perfect tamales and my husband had chicken mole tacos. Both were great and very affordable.
