Casa De Carli

"A modern, family-run restaurant with a beautiful straightforward interior, open show kitchen and a walk-in wine fridge worth seeing as well as a wine fridge wall. Flavoursome cooking has a subtle North Italian bias, and the breads, pastas and ice creams are homemade. In front of the house there are tables on the cobbled street. Tip: private chef's table in the kitchen for up to 12 persons." - Michelin Inspector

Decore was very nice, atmosphere was alright. Although I generally felt like the wait staff were snobby and looked down upon us. But I guess that’s what you get for going to a pretentious Italian restaurant? Maybe that makes the experience more authentic Italian? Bread was great, burrata entree was fresh. The spaghetti was eaten too soon. Not much space inside, and a few tables outside. Overall not really a place I’d bother to return to if I’m frank.

Google
We had the Christmas menu! Delicious, delicious, delicious!!! 5 courses menu, it was excellent! They have homemade bread as a treat! The focaccia was just amazing, let alone the Panetonne for dessert! Service was fine! The only thing that was on a small minus side, was the price of a glass of a red wine, almost 25 euros, but other than that, everything was enjoyable!

Google
This Italian restaurant is over the top in service and food but not in price, it’s more expansive than most places in Prague. But the food is truly outstanding there, perfectly prepared, and plated beautifully, really enjoyable to look at. Excellent Italian wine is available, too. The staff is very friendly and engaging and provides excellent service and useful recommendations. Overall could be a really good place for special occasion or romantic dinner.

Google
I never understood why restaurants higher their prices for new year. Make moneys is important but at least if you want to charge 250€ per person you must be at the level. I reserved not knowing that there was a fixed menu and definitely not knowing the price, my mistake. I guess the chef is good chef for an Italian restaurant in Prague but chef come on between us does this menu deserve 250€, I felt robbed. I my self is a chef and have worked at 3 star Michelin restaurant and have my own restaurant and I would never charge 250€ per person for that menu in my own restaurant, there was too many mistakes, your cost is not that high to charge this price. The price was very wrong and you should know it I wouldn’t pay more than 150 per person and I am being generous bc it is new year. 250€ is a price a 1 star Michelin which is not your case. I am very angry

I had my birthday dinner at Casa De Carli tonight and it was just perfect! I have been in Prague for quite a while and have visited several good-rated restaurants, and to be honest, this is the best. The restaurant is nicely designed but not snobby at all. The service is very attentive and made us feel welcome. The food tastes truly wonderful and is amazingly beautiful to look at. We enjoyed every moment with awsome prosecco and white wine. I highly recommend Casa De Carli for anyone who wishes to enjoy first-class food in the relaxed atmosphere. You won't regret.

Google
Upscale italian food, the vitello tonatto is to die for, risotto cacio e peppe as well and the tiramisu is definitely a must, for the presentation and the taste!

Yelp

Yelp
Great ambience, great service, great food. We had a business dinner for 12 people and they handled the group perfectly. Appetizers were Veal ceviche, buffalo mozzarella, bread with oil, tuna tartare- all excellent. We had an array of entree's and nobody was disappointed. The molten chocolate dessert was fought over and the 'cigar' was a very cool novelty.

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant! Fabulous service, lovely art, relaxed and almost elegant. They speak terrific English, Check, German, Slovakian, and French. Homemade bread, wonderful flavors, unique selections. We highly recommend it!

Yelp
We stumbled onto this delightful and authentic Italian spot. The food and service was outstanding, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Their pasta is in-house made and wonderful. Our party of 6 enjoyed this restaurant so much that we're considering going back the next day!!

Yelp
We had lunch here our first day out in Prague. It was excellent! The atmosphere was quintessential of the neighborhood with quaint bistro tables along the cobble stones streets. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch of carpaccio, ricotta stuffed zucchini flowers, burrata cheese and a bottle of brunello de Montalcino. The service was impeccable, without pretension. I'm sure we will return to this restaurant during our stay in Prague.

Yelp
Food was superb! We had just arrived from Vienna and found that Italian places tend to be more gluten free friendly. This place did not disappoint. They use the numbering system to let you know about allergens. Service was very good, almost too good. They only had a few peeps in, so we got very personal service.

Yelp
Our waiter was one of the best we have ever had, rivalling the Michelin starred restaurants in Prague and Vienna. We had a nice late lunch, but the service made the day. Our waiter was attentive, enjoyable, talkative when we asked, and professional when he needed to be. Excellent small wine list, on a nice street with some outdoor seating. Small place, but we would highly recommend it. Recommend the specials and anything with the cheese.

Yelp
Fav. Restaurant in Prague, we went back twice and now I'm left craving it often being back stateside. The first night I had the steak and let me tell you it was THE best steak I've ever had in my life. The second night I had the veal ossobuco and it didn't disappoint. Cannot say enough amazing things about the staff and the food!!!!

Yelp
Warm and classy setting. We had an adorably sweet waiter who said things like "for sure" and "as you wish". Very professional and felt like affordable semi fine dining. The food was definitely salty (which we like) and satisfying. Ultimately it felt like a solid go-to dependable restaurant experience for repeat visits.

Yelp
My hubby and I were walking back from hearing a perfect concert with violins and cellos and I was hungry so I chose Casa di carli because it looked so inviting and didn't smell of tobacco. Totally serendipitous that I stumbled upon this perfect jewel. Loved our waiter, the bus girl And bus boy. Everyone was so welcoming and warm. We had a half a bottle of a great montepulciano and an amazing chocolate dessert and the bill was 120. Inexpensive and unpretentious. The carpaccio was perfect, the lamb outstanding and the service was wonderful. It felt like coming home: I could imagine the people addressing me by name the next time I come through the door. I will go again before I leave Sunday. Thanks guys For a great dining experience.

Yelp
Sub par. Food presentation and the restaurant decoration are good and interesting. In every other aspect this restaurant was a disappointment. Fyi Beware of the Price of Water!

John I.

Yelp
Food was uninspiring, prices were absurdly high (145 for a bottle of beer while it's 29 down the street), and service was terrible. We waited about an hour for two salads, a soup, and two pasta dishes while the restaurant was empty. It's as if the staff walked into the building and were told to run a restaurant with 20 minutes notice. Don't bother going here. You'll just waste your money and your time. Oh, and they charged 250 for bread that we didn't order.

Yelp
We had two dinners here in three days. The high Tripadvisor rating does not do justice to the food here. The decor is cheerful, and thoughtful. So are its staff. The food (fresh bread, pasta, beef, fish, and rabbit) were done to perfection and elegantly presented. The restaurant has good air-conditioning, especially when compared with some other highly rated restaurants. A hidden gem!

Yelp
This place was a great start to our stay in Prague! Fantastic Italian meal with great service. We sat outside and they even brought me a blanket to cover up with when it got a little chilly. I got the sea bass with vegetables and loved it. My husband ordered a red snapper special which was also delicious. We also shared a simple pasta/olive oil dish because their pasta is homemade so we just had to. :) We will most likely be going back before the trip is through. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The rabbit risotto was well defined as was the red pepper soup. In a city where many of the wait staff seem to be grumpy, all of the staff were cheerful and service-oriented. The food compares very favorably to Roma and NYC. The Cuban Cigar is a very creative desert (hint: it isn't really a cigar).

Fantasic authentic Italian food in the heart of Prague, great wine list too !

Yelp
Fantastic food, had the special of the day (octopus, then lamb). Not sure how the regular menu is though

Yelp
Chef owned and managed, this was probably the most satisfying dining experience we had during our eastern European trip. Lovely ambiance, carefully prepared and presented dishes. Perfect service. Great Italian cooking in Prague!

Yelp
We were looking for a nice romantic, small, high-quality food dining place. Casa de Carly was perfect. The food was excellently prepared, particularly the pasta. We both had tagliatelle with shrimp and the pasta was al dente with a delicate flavor. The Burrata cheese with tomato starter was creamy and delicious. The desserts were also outstanding particularly the chocolate tort and the tiramisu. Highly recommended.

Yelp
NOT AFRAID TO EAT IN PRAGUE ANYMORE! Casa de Carli, owned by a lovely couple - the husband, former Cipriani chef, and his wife Lenka. Situated on a beautiful street close to Old Town Square in Prague, and yet quiet and away from the craziness, this is a Class A restaurant with Class B prices! AND IT'S NO SMOKING which, around here is a blessing. I am from Los Angeles, home of vegan and low calorie/low carb etc restaurants. I was so scared when I came to Prague, where I now live part-time during the year for work, that I would only find meat: everywhere there's meat, meat, meat in this town! Rabbit, bison, deer, raw beef tartare with raw egg on it, pigeon, sweetbreads, brains, liver, etc I can eat those things occasionally but I"m super careful because some of the restaurants here are not famous for their hygiene.THANK GOODNESS FOR CASA DE CARLI! Oh you can get your meat here - the best beef from the Mediterranean, divine fresh fish every day from Italy, Spain, etc, plenty of pate and lamb if you want it. BUT you can also get divine pastas and salads, with tomato sauce, truffles, shrimp, mozzarella or anything else you want. When I'm sick they even make chicken soup for me and deliver it! They have amazing wines by the glass, most of them way cheaper then other continental or Italian restaurants. The kitchen is IMMACULATE. My husband and I have eaten here maybe 100 times over the past 2 years and we have not once even had the slightest indigestion. This New Years Eve 2013 the restaurant was packed full, both upstairs and downstairs and there was a fixed price menu or you could order whatever you wanted. I ate turkey just like back home and it was amazing. There were lights and fireworks on the beautiful street outside, multi-colored balloons outside and at the stroke of midnight we toasted good friends and good health and fortune with these lovely people. The restaurant is impressive and classy if you want to bring an important guest and yet it doesn't break your pocketbook. It's also the friendliest place in town. Some of the restaurants (and shoppes) are run by unbelievably unfriendly people. Casa de Carli is the exact opposite, and I love the young people who work there so much I actually bought them all Christmas presents! They are accommodating and really want to please you. I could go on and on about this place, but suffice it to say I wish they had a restaurant in Los Angeles and the first place I come to whenever I land in Prague, even after a 13 hour flight, is Casa de Carli!

Yelp
Wonderful service and a perfect meal. We sat outside on a beautiful night. Each of us had a perfectly prepared pasta (tagliatelle with shrimp and whole wheat with pepper) and shared a salad that was also lovely. The wait staff were attentive but not pushy. Homemade ice cream was a perfect finish. We will come again. We also loved the no smoking policy which made us walk out of another place before coming to de Carli.

Ben G.

Yelp
Excellent service, decent (not great) food, with one of the most overpriced wine lists I have ever seen in Prague...lived here 7 years.
