Where to Eat Breakfast in Tijuana Right Now | Eater San Diego

"While the decor and facade might be very wild west in appearance, this Colonia Altamira favorite is the place for diner-style breakfast in Tijuana. While the house take on the grand slam breakfast is popular, the steak and egg platter is the real home run. Make a reservation or show up early, as wait times can get long even in the middle of the week." - Mario A. Cortez

I had a great breakfast at this restaurant! The food was delicious, fresh, and prepared quickly. The service was outstanding—Luis, our waiter, was incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We hit on this breakfast house on Google and were pleased with our experience. Steve had scrambled eggs combined with chorizo with hash browns and I had eggs over medium with bacon and hash browns. They only serve flour tortillas (homemade, bomb 💣) and the coffee was strong. Very quaint location with an energetic vibe on the inside. We were given the choice to go upstairs or eat in the main dining area downstairs. We opted for downstairs. The decor downstairs is old photos and antique farm equipment and saddles adorn the walls in the main dining room. They have very clean restrooms boldly marked for men and women separately. Overall a nice typical Mexican breakfast (by that I mean this isn’t a fusion food house)

Everything is good here. Large portions. Fair prices. Homenade taste. They dont have cafe de olla 👎. Service is great. Very limited parking.

Google
You wouldn't believe there's a restaurant like this in the middle of nowhere (or felt that way since we walked here climbing up 100+ steps on the way from the popular streets, should have taken a cab in hindsight) The waiters are super friendly and nice but if you don't know Spanish, you are going to do a lot of pointing and Google translate. Their orange juice is 👌 and their breakfast dishes are all good. Nothing out of the world but no complaints. You can end up waiting a long time for them to get the check so do wave them down at the end.

Google
Pretty good breakfast! It was kind of unexpected where it was, we drove by a couple of times before seeing it, it's tucked back off the street slightly, so you don't realize it's there! Fun, "Old West" feeling, and great breakfast. Got the California omelette and Eggs Benedict and fresh squeezed orange juice

Google
Fantastic! Hands down the best American breakfast food in Tijuana. I love a good American breakfast and Casa de Coronados does not disappoint. Their eggs, bacon, chorizo, and pancakes were all well cooked and came out super tasty. The pancakes have this home-cooked taste to them which is fantastic (don't get me wrong, I love a good IHOP pancake too) and reminds you that you are not visiting a big chain restaurant. If you want to try a good breakfast joint and want to get a little off the beaten path from downtown TJ then give Casa de Coronados a try! Update, it's been a few years since I've visited Casa de Coronado's and they are as good as I remember. There prices have gone up about 50 pesos across the board but that's life.

Yelp
Good food, they offer fairly-priced standard Mexican breakfasts. The place fills up fast and parking is less than ideal, but definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
This place was pretty good. I was eating healthy at the time so I ordered the ensalada de fruta. It was big and came with cottage cheese, nuts and seeds and honey on the side. The fruit was fresh and there was a good variety, I also tasted the machaca and eggs. It was the real Sonoran style machaca and it was pretty good. The serving since wasn't big but I think enough. It came with eggs and tortillas. I also got a melon papaya juice and that was delicious. The service was good. It's a neat little place. Parking is kind of limited and they're busy. We found parking down the street. Their parking lot is small and cramped. I'd eat here again.

Yelp
I have been to this place many times before and it is always packed. Their service is the best though because they always seat you very quickly. This time we were in and out of that restaurant in 25 minutes. I mean they brought our drinks and food so fast. The menu is a mixture between American and Mexican cuisine and everything is so delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. I also really like their unique western decoration inside. When they are really packed, they will seat you on their second floor which is a lot more of a private feel. The only negative I have about this place is their parking. There are hardly any parking spots in the location itself, but there are some spots nearby.

Yelp
Really good food but the potatoes could be better. Parking is on the street they don't except credit cards

Yelp
This place is amazing. Get anything and you'll be surprised at how flavourful. Big portions will always blow you away. The ambiance is Western themed, and it has fast service.

Yelp
Everything here is amazing, food, service. Parking is a little difficult to find but worth it when u find a spot. Go early when there is parking and less people.

Yelp
This place is filled with a lot of culture. Once arriving the restaurant itself is structured as an original Mexican home and it feels very welcoming. Their health and safety procedures are measured as they take your temperature once entering inside. I went for my birthday with all my family so they made us get separate tables and not be together because of covid-19. off the bat they attended us and gave us a warm welcome. First we started with our drinks, I ordered a hot chocolate. It was very disappointing to be honest as i expected a traditional abuelita hot chocolate with a great taste but it seemed as if it was just chocolate powder. Very disappointing. The food had arrived and I ordered myself an Italian omelette, and that really brought my hopes up again as the tradition was being tasted. Food was brought in amazing cultural plates and the taste was breathtaking. I also gave a try to the meat they had served my parents and it was so soft and tender with the charcoal taste in the meat. Super delicious. Then they greeted me with Las Mananitas as it was my birthday with a carrot cake and candle. Great place to come and eat and have a good start to an adventure. Yelp
Hands down the best breakfast in Tijuana in my opinion. My favorite is the huevos criollos with beans and flour tortillas. Also the waffle deluxe is incredible. Make sure to go with plenty of time because some times they have an waiting list

Yelp
Breakfast was outstanding for everyone in our group. Super clean and felt very safe. Omelette California seemed to have a whole avocado in it!

Yelp
Casa de Coronado Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Tijuana that has not only great food, great prices, and great customer service. Next time anyone is near Tijuana try this restaurant you will not regret it.

Yelp
Great breakfast! We arrived a little before 10am and it was busy so we decided to eat at the counter. I ordered the Greek omelette and my partner ordered the French Toast. The food was quick to arrive. Omelette was delicious, and so was the French Toast. Price was great too, will be coming back again.

Yelp
First I was surprised at the location it's not what I would expect a restaurant to be in what looked like a restaurant in a residential neighborhood Once I made my mind to go in I was pleasantly surprised the amount of people that come here then when it came to the food it was very very good the food tasted as if I was at my moms house and my mom is a very good cook . The machaca ranchera was excellent . While eating I kept thinking of coming back and bringing the rest of my family back here it was that good.

Yelp
Excellent Mexican food, great service, Pánfilo our waiter is the best, shrimp omelette is the best you can get, coffee is great, mango juice is out of this world, 100% recommended

Yelp
The food is good and the service is even better. We were checked on by our waiter and busboys several times throughout our breakfast. The parking lot is small, but there was street parking available.

Yelp
The best carne asada and eggs ever. Their meat is so juicy and fatty just at the right parts. I love coming here for brunch but be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes. There's a parking attendant that helps you with parking because their lot probably only fits ten cars. Be sure to tip this guy because he just makes it happen. Their corn beef hash, house coffee, and hot chocolate are also really good. Overall this place is delicious, very affordable, and facilities are clean--even the restroom. Love this place. TIP: bring cash

Yelp
Excellent service. The staff was on top of things. However, it was bland, low quality food. This is what I get for taking advice from Yelps in English for a restaurant in Mexico... Gringo food (and I'm a Gringo!) I ordered Machaca con huevos and my wife ordered a spinach omelette with feta cheese. My dish was so flavorless, I can literally tell you there are no words to describe it because it tasted of nothing; just plain scrambled eggs and watery beef. The omelette tasted much the same. The hash brown that came with the omelette was clearly from frozen. I'll stick with the breakfast options along Paseo de Los Heroes.

Yelp
Nice spot great food my favorite is machaca and eggs with salsa and some delicious chorizo on the side service is fast when seated, when super busy expect to wait outside and their parking is rather small so expect another wait to find parking or waiting for another car to leave and you can enter their parking but once your in everything is nice sweet and delicious.

Yelp
Homemade food taste is the best, I love having breakfast here. Highly recommend, delicious food.
