The Spaniard, One of NYC’s Buzziest Bars, Will Pop Up in Houston | Eater Houston

"A West Village whiskey-focused bar that opened in spring 2017, conceived by Bua Bar Group and offering inventive bar snacks overseen by PJ Calapa (formerly of Ai Fiori and Nobu). It’s launching a multi-city U.S. tour that kicks off in Houston on November 7 and continues to Washington, D.C.; Louisville; Chicago; and Miami, timed to coincide with the one-year anniversary of a Compass Box whisky release. The takeover spotlights a signature malt blend finished in Spanish red wine, sherry, and virgin French oak barrels, and features cocktails such as a Manhattan made with Averna amaro and orange bitters, a “Fast Buck” combining lime, ginger, P.X. sherry, and Peat Monster, plus shot-and-beer pairings." - Tierney Plumb

Enjoyed an incredible dinner at Casa España! From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding, we had the jamon iberico croquettes, garbanzos fritos and seafood paella and it was one of the best meals we've had in a while. Desserts are made in house (congrats to Paco!!) and our server David was super attentive. While the prices were a bit higher, the quality of the food and service made it well worth the splurge. Taking into account that we both had drinks (sangria was very good) and desserts (totally recommend the turron mousse and tarta de Santiago) the bill was not that expensive. Highly recommend for a special occasion or anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience!

We came to Casa España Tapas y Vinos after seeing it all over TikTok, and let me tell you, my taste buds went on a vacation, but my patience went on a permanent business trip. First, the good stuff! The moment we walked in, I felt like I needed to check my passport. The place is drop-dead gorgeous—it's like they plucked a Spanish villa and dropped it right here. Then came the food. The garbanzo frito con jamon Serrano was a crispy, salty dream. I'm pretty sure I heard angels singing. And the paella con camarones? A masterpiece. It was so flavorful and loaded with shrimp that it felt less like a meal and more like a treasure chest. We finished with the crema Catalana, and it was so good it almost brought a tear to my eye. My wife was in heaven. The chef deserves a standing ovation and maybe a statue. Now for the not-so-good, which I'll call the "Rigoberto Experience." Our waiter, Rigoberto, was like a ninja—he appeared, took our order, and then vanished into thin air. We didn't see him again until we had to send out a search party (a.k.a. another waiter) to bring us the check. My water glass was emptier than my wallet after that meal, and it was the kindness of strangers (other waiters) that kept me from perishing of thirst. It's a shame, because everything else was top-tier. So, would I go back? For the food, absolutely. But next time, I'm bringing a camel with me for the water and a flare gun to signal for the check. Rigoberto, if you're reading this, please come back. My water glass misses you.

I had an incredible experience at Casa España! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting and authentic. The food was absolutely delicious every dish full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We had Paella, Ham Croquettes, soup! 😍 But what truly made my visit memorable was the outstanding service. Rigoberto, our server, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was attentive, kind, and incredibly professional. You could tell he genuinely cared about our experience. I left completely satisfied and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a place with amazing Spanish cuisine and top-notch service, Casa España is it!

Excellent Spanish hidden gem in Pembroke Pines! The Tempranillo paired beautifully with the entrecot and the seafood dish. Waiter was polite and professional.

The best thing of this place is the Spanish food, it’s real authentic Spanish food, with all the different tapas and delicious main courses that we have in Spain, from ensaladilla rusa, croquetas de jamón ibérico and patatas bravas to rabo de toro guisado, zarzuela de pescado y marisco o arroces varios en paella. Delicious, I not only highly recommend it, I also plan to come back again.
