My first visit to Casa Garcia happened in 1979, a friend invited me to lunch, when he told me we were going to eat nachos I thought okay, the first thing that came to mind were nachos bought at a movie theater! We walked into the small takeout restaurant and the first thing I noticed was the aroma of freshly prepared Mexican food, as I looked around I noticed fresh trays of meats, and tortilla chips being fried in the background and a couple of workers ladling delicious toppings onto our nachos chips, I’d never seen such a well organized open kitchen. There was a man there named Danny, greeting people and thanked them for coming, over the years him and his wife Carla were always there, cooking and bringing fresh food supplies through the front door. Needless to say Casa Garcia captured my heart, I shared it with family and friends as it was shared with me, the legend lives on at a different location, and nothings changed as far as the food is concerned, its freshly prepared authentic Mexican food. I was a young college man when I discovered it, now I’m a retired senior citizen and Casa Garcia still beckons me to come and enjoy their delicious food, I think I’ll visit again very soon.
