An Indian Mexican Tasting Menu Restaurant With an All-Day Cafe and Cocktail Bar Is Coming - Eater Chicago

"Last week, Amar “Mer” Mansuria, closed the doors at Casa Indigo in Pilsen for the last time. The casual Mexican restaurant had served its last customer on 18th Street, and though Mansuria isn’t finished cooking, he was emotional." - Ashok Selvam

How Restaurants Fared on Their First Day Back Open in Pilsen and Lincoln Park - Eater Chicago

"Restaurant owners like Casa Indigo’s Amar Mansuria, are hoping the city can close a portion of 18th Street to give him much needed space for tables and chairs. Right now, Casa Indigo only has room for two small round tables that seat two each in front of their windows." - Ashok Selvam

One of the best places I have been in a while. Firstly the space retains the Pilsen vibe so well, a sit down place with easily accessible counter to order to go with art work from local artists on the wall. I love that this place despite being new in Pilsen does not stick out like a sore thumb. It’s a perfect homage to the neighborhood which many establishments overlook. I went with a group of 4 friends. All welcomed in a friendly and family way. The menu is laid out in a simple way and does not feel overwhelming. I had the mushroom taco and the vegetarian bombasa which were absolutely outstanding. I had never had a bombasa before. What I love about it how it doesn’t feel very bread despite all of its breadness as the buns are big but the spices on the buns create a great balance. This place is my new favorite and can’t wait to be back for many more trips.

Such a wonderful midday treat! The inside lives up to its “casa indigo” name with the blue walls and intricate silver ceiling. The pork belly tlacayo had a delightful blend of refreshing ingredients and was absolutely delicious. The Kobe special of 8 fried chicken wings and fries was extremely filling and we had to box half of it to take home. Awesome value and taste! Most people did take out, which was probably the better choice given there was no AC.

Not your run of the mill Mexican food. The staff is personable and the food, especially the fish tacos are legit.

Check out this spot because I'm sure it will be coming up fast on their taco game. Order taco de asada, it was ehh ok, taco de camarón = 🔥, and their taco de piel belly = 🔥. I also ordered a side of rice and black beans = 🔥. There is a wait for the food but since they are new I don't think they have the everything ironed out in service yet. Waited for a hot minute for our drinks, the guys were very humble and friendly. My only advice is service needs to fine tuning on speed and attention to detail.. definitely going back for the tacos for sure!

One of my favorites, farm to table you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's also a byob space. Please enjoy.

So delicious! Everyone working there was so nice, and the food was amazing! Chicken fajitas are SO flavorful, very affordable, and comes out HOT. I also ordered Butternut Squash soup (and I don't even really LIKE butternut squash) but it was genuinely one of the best soups I have ever eaten... in my entire life... I will definitely come back and I wish everyone in this restaurant so much good. Please check it out!
