Google
amazing service, cutest mexican restaurant ever. the foods great, i cant find a single bad thing about this place, especially the margarita deals ;)

BaRK Crew

Google
Pretty empty, food took about 30 mins since we ordered. Very bland compared to other places. Cute place though. Like they dudnt even put ice in the drinks (water Mr Pibb etc)...in July. Wild.

Prerana cshekar

Google
Good food and great ambiance! Good Mexican food after a day at the beach. Got their top shelf Margaritas with a tajin rim! Got their Pollo Chipotle and Carnitas with Salsa.

LongStrange Trip

Google
Good food, great service, wonderful ambience. Only real complaint was the menu has guacamole ranchero and guacamole. But there's no explanation on what's the difference. We had the guac ranchero which was freshly made but it should have been called onion ranchero, wayyyyy too much onion. But our dinners were excellent and we'll be back.

Google
We sat outside around 3pm. Not much of a crowd so we were able to relax while ordering food & drinks. Food came out hot and the drinks were good. Our server was very attentive.

Google
Absolutely delicious food and great service. The pork burrito was so tasty with rice and a salad on top. The rib eye steak was well seasoned and so good. Highly recommend this place. Prices were very reasonable.

Google
Large portions! Super cool staff. Great outdoor dining area and inside as well! Delicious drinks

Google
Hands down one of the best Mexican spots I've been to and I've been to many actual Mexican restaurants in Mexico haha. Tacos were phenomenal, margaritas were perfect, chips and salsa were fantastic. Will be back many times! Very good prices as well.

Yelp
After years of living at the Beach finally visited Casa Maria for lunch. Parking is limited. The interior is festive and the bar very beautiful. They have great lunch specials and delicious Margaritas.

Yelp
I used to come here once a week when I lived here and I've missed it. I came the other night for date night and the food was still just as good then as it was years ago. Service was slow and for a Saturday night the place wasn't packed like it used to be. I'm hoping it stays this good.

Yelp
We were at the bar, ignored for a while. Ordered a beer, enchiladas. The chips and salsa were good. The bar stools were stiff backed. The ringing phone was annoying and rang a lot. Food was ok not a lot of flavor, enchiladas were covered with lots of onion and no red sauce until I asked. Quiet for a Sunday afternoon except for a patron at the bar swearing at the football game. Probably a one and done experience for us.
google avatar

Skylar C.

Yelp
Only thing good here is the chips and salsa! Rice had good flavor but was kind of crunchy. Chicken in the enchiladas was fishy/tasted like it was canned? And my husbands fish tacos were chewy and just off tasting. We both ate a couple bites and that's it. Service was friendly but took awhile to get menus and we had to hunt down our own high chair.

Yelp

Yelp
Must visit for everyone! This location is at the corner of 3rd St S. and 25th Ave. South, on the Northeast corner, inside the arched plaza. They off outside courtyard dining, inside tables, and bar area. The service is on the spot and I have never had a bad experience at this great Mexican Venue. Want a new and exciting experience, ask for the chiles toreados, with grilled onions, cut them up, mix and match with your meal, and ENJOY!!! Highly recommend that you take friends, family, or just sit at the bar, and tell Luis that Capt. Timbo says hi! Captain Timbo - Jacksonville Beach, Fl.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a long while. Some friends and I used to come every Taco Tuesday after we worked out at the beach. Hehe Came here after tennis and it was as yummy as I remember. We did tacos and a margarita (of course). Definitely want to come back and try more stuff, since it has been soooooo long. The parking always deterred me from coming during peak times. But, it wasn't so bad this time. Inside seating and outdoor patio, too. That will be awesome during the fall nights with a breeze.
google avatar

Yelp
Many good choices at the beach for Mexican. This isn't one of them. The courtyard is about the only positive. Service wasn't bad but the food made me sick (authentic Mexican?lol)
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
The restaurant is centrally located and I love the decor. The food on the hand, it was cold and no flavor ! The nachos stale and taco salad looked like it had canned meat. The ambiance was fun and lit for 5 de Mayo. The service was terrible and no sense of desire to appeal to the customers needs. Bon appetite!
google avatar

Ross H.

Yelp
This place is way way overpriced, the drinks are weak, and it's not clean...bathroom is gross! The only good thing is the location and courtyard dining.
google avatar

Joyce A.

Yelp
Casa Maria never disappoints. Great service and food and Margaritas !! ! It's been over two years since the last time my boyfriend and I came here. It's very festive and lively.

Matthew S.

Yelp
The enchiladas were ridiculously bland. Zero flavor and after eating the refried beans, I absolutely shit myself the entire next day in the ocean. I blame this restaurant for the family with small children having to witness that
google avatar

Yelp
Not even the margaritas were good and that is a lot to say. This restaurant was the opposite of what a Mexican restaurant should be. Took a long time to get the food, was expensive for the type of food we were getting and it wasn't that great. The taco flour tortilla was cold as it sat on a counter it has an "old" frying oil taste, the beans looked and tasted as it came out of a can. The margarita had to return the first one tasted like a bad lemon koolaide the 2nd one not much better, the top shelve margarita had no sweetener was bitter. It appeared to me that is not run or owned by authentic Mexican owners. Not coming back. Our waiter was friendly but if food is not good and service is slow not worth the price

Cathie B.

Yelp
Well that was gross! Chicken so overcooked it's would work as shoe leather. I had the polo loco and it was so unpleasant on the plate, my photo looked like vomit. Oh wait, let me back up, there isn't even an online menu. Cute restaurant, nice chairs, they need to buy some lights-this is not mood lighting, it's just dark. The food sucks and is quite pricey Too many GOOD Mexican restaurants in Jax Beach to waste your money here!

Yelp
I took many years of French when I was in both middle and high school. Tried a year of Chinese as well. Even went so far as to take 3 semesters of Hebrew in college. What did I get out of all of those years of foreign language class? zip. Can't speak a lick of any of them. Oh sure. I can tell you my name. Or that I have a big white dog. Or I can even ask you where the bathroom is. I think. Or maybe the library. But that's about it. Me and foreign languages just don't go together too well. Heck, I have a hard enough time with English. I'm no gooder at it. Um, I mean good. But, I do love certain foreign words. They just roll off the tongue and are simply fun to say. Like tacos. TACOS! Admit it. You're saying tacos right now as you read this. TACOS! Which leads me to Casa Maria. Its a nice little Mexican place in south Jacksonville Beach. Now, let's get something out of the way really quick. It will NOT be the best Mexican food you will ever eat. Maybe not even be the second best. Not by a long shot. That's fine. No really. It is. Because I don't think Casa Maria is trying to be the best. Its just a casual place with lots of inexpensive food and drinks. Feel like Mexican food but don't want to pay a lot? Come here. Trust me. Its a pretty good amount of food that won't break the bank. And the best part? TACOS! Yeah, I know that they don't have pork belly or a blackened fish drizzled with an aioli sauce or Korean short ribs with scallions or whatever. What I do know is that they have some great chicken, beef and pork tacos served on great little corn tortillas. They also have a very tasty salsa (that comes with the ubiquitous basket of hot tortilla chips when you first sit down) to throw on top of those great tacos. That's what I know. My wife tried the fajitas. She was gonna go tacos. She always goes tacos. But this time? Yeah, this time she tried the fajitas. Verdict? Eh. Didn't love them. Shoulda gone with TACOS! You know what else I like about this place? I've never had a problem getting a table when I've come here. And the service is wonderful. The wait staff is super friendly and the food comes out amazingly fast. So what did we learn here? No puedo hablar español pero me gustan los tacos! Yeah, I can google translate with the best of them. Look, it doesn't matter what language you speak. Come to Casa Maria for some TACOS! Say it with me one more time. TACOS!

Yelp
Personally my favorite Mexican restaurant to go to in the jax beach area. Sometimes they only run with one server during lunch and still give good service. Everything is delicious. My personal favorite is the Pollo Ranchero. Cheese dip is good and salsa is always fresh! Def a weekly (maybe more than that) place on my list
google avatar

Jeannie C.

Yelp
Wow, I was surprisingly impressed! I had a pork burrito with rice and a salad and it was absolutely delicious. My friend had a rib eye steak and said it was the best tasting she had ever had. The Margaritas were plentiful and so good. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. The staff was extremely polite.

Kaylee S.

Yelp
Basic tacos no flavor and service was terrible. Won't be back anytime soon that's for sure
google avatar

Yelp
Always a good time. Food is good, service is solid, atmosphere is great. Highly recommend for a fun dining experience.

John R.

Yelp
I have been looking for a Mexican restaurant offering the traditional fare close to home and Casa Maria did not disappoint. I had the Chili Relleno, beef enchilada and crispy beef taco with rice and refried beans. Service was exceptional and the food came out quickly. Portions were good size. I will be back.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Ordered to go. Waited for the food and when we got home (2 min drive) the food was already freezing. Also, the quesadilla fajitas Texans dish was like soup. It was not a quesadilla. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Rory D.

Yelp
Pretty good food at the beach. Check out their taco Tuesday, with 12 different kinds of $3 tacos. Excellent jalapeño poppers, some of the best I've had. Full bar with a medley of Tequilas and mezcals, so was happy with that! Multiple TV screens, great decor, sit outside or inside with a full patio courtyard. Mexican beers on tap, full menu of numerous Mexican specialties plus a great lunch menu as well. All dishes are authentico, and the staff is all Mexican. A fantastic place to hang out at the bar experimenting, to catch the latest international soccer tournament , or to bring the family for Mexican food.

David D.

Yelp
The chicken enchilada tasted like rubber. The skinny margarita was grossly overpriced for a "soft drink" which tasted like Sprite. The chips need more salt but the salsa was fine. The chicken quesadilla didn't have any cheese in it, unless you consider cheese sauce on top?? So basically the food and margaritas where below average for sure. The service was acceptable and friendly. Dining area was nice and they have outdoor dining in a courtyard which looked nice.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
I've been back several times since my first review. A few inconsistencies here and there (super hot queso one night), but all in all it's remained very good. Tonight, not so much so. Had tacos, enchilada, and a tostada--all of them with ground beef . Not sure what it was, but something about the beef was definitely off. When/if I go back, I'll have chicken or pork.
google avatar

Becky I.

Yelp
This place is not super great. The servers were less than personable when we went here, and they didn't check up on us as much as they should have. Going 20 minutes+ without checking on your tables is just too long. Our food was basic Mexican food you get at any Mexican place so not bad. The margaritas were not very good - nothing special there. Overall not a great experience for us. We were on vacation and love our local Mexican places back home but did not get anywhere near the service or quality of food/drinks we get at our regular Mexican restaurants in NC.
google avatar

Carl M.

Yelp
It may be "historic" but it is not well kept. Everything is slightly off and the whole place needs to be gutted

Dolores K.

Yelp
The food and service has gone down hill over the years. I was always bragging about them, however the last couple times. It's not been good.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Great service and such friendly waiters. The food was good but nothing special. Would recommend coming here for the variety and the ambiance! They have a nice outdoor patio in a courtyard covered setting. They also have but one get one Dos Equis haha. If you're in the mood for Mexican then stop here! They season their meats well. I got the Santa Fe shrimp bowl which is supposed to be labeled as a healthier option but it was huge! If you're trying to be healthier I would say go for the fajitas because the portions are better and just dont use the tortillas.

Yelp
Visitors: from one visitor to another and from someone who lived in New Mexico where the best Mexican food is made (neither Texas or even Mexico touch New Mexico!!) this place is a good place to try if you are wanting to sit outside, enjoy awesome margaritas and have "good" food. It's not exceptional, I'll agree with some of the reviews but any item not made with melted cheese (read: relleno, enchilada, quesadilla) will be fine. There's just something not quite right about their cheese! But the spicy chicken salad, the shrimp tacos and salsa were wonderful. The chips are highly addictive. Our server seemed to be by himself but he did his very best to make sure we were well taken care of. I even asked to go twice on my 3 day visit!! Do make sure to try the fried ice cream. It's the most authentic I've had in years and years. Listen, go for the company of your friends, inexpensive and well made drinks, inexpensive food, and an opportunity to again, eat non cheese based items outside in the warm Florida air by the beach!

Yelp
Jacksonville little secert. You will love the fresh gacomole. And the other food worth the trip as well.

Kathy H.

Yelp
After dining at CM for many years and having good experiences, this evening I was disappointed. While our server provided good service and the food was satisfying, the large screen tv in front provided a show with pretty much nothing but women's breasts and buttocks. My past experience found this to be a family oriented restaurant, not one that objectifies women. Disappointed to say the least. We drove past at least four other Mexican restaurants that we'll choose from in the future.

Christopher A.

Yelp
Ordered for pickup, We Ordered chicken quesadillas, and they sent us cheese, wife and I bit in to discover no chicken, when we called to replace the item the manager asked for the cheese quesadillas back and gave me attitude when 2 were missing because we didn't give him back the 2 we but into. Seriously? What restaurant wants the food back after you've driven it home and they made the mistake?

Sandie S.

Yelp
We've been here many times when we're in the area. Always great food and great service! We couldn't ask for a better place for lunch or dinner. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They understand our needs (weight loss surgery). Luis was our server today....he's awesome!! Thank you!!

Yelp
My wife and I are from Chicago, and after moving to Ponte Vedra, we missed quality Mexican food more than anything! Casa María is an incredibly underrated gem in the beaches. We've tried all the would-be "best Mexican restaurants" in the beaches, and they all disappointed. Casa Maria was a lucky risk we took on a surprisingly medium rated restaurant. The hidden internal patio is off the main road, and gives a private vibe that feels traditional Mexican. The molcajete is the best I've had, their traditional tacos are amazing, and you can't beat their chips and salsa (ask for the secret homemade habenero salsa too!) Their service is wonderful, they treat us and our kids like family there. We make it to Casa Maria's weekly, and are so happy to have found a real Mexican restaurant in the beaches. Also, stop by the Blue Jay Room above Casa Maria's after dinner for another great, understated city-vibe jazz bar!

Candace C.

Yelp
Good prices and good food. They have a good variety on their menu! I wouldn't say it's totally authentic Mexican but it's good for Americanized Mexican food. Really close to the beach, so it's good after a day in the sun. The have seating in a courtyard area that's nice when the weather is a bit cooler. Full bar, and decent drink prices.
google avatar

Kelli S.

Yelp
The food here was very good and the service was what made this review 5 stars. The people were so sweet. We went to pick up our order here and realized we called it into the wrong location and they said not a problem and made our order and took care of us. Certainly will be going back again
google avatar

Rafael M.

Yelp
Amazing Food, I absolutely loved this place, Very authentic Mexican Food, This is Definitely the Restaurant you should visit when your in Jacksonville 10/10

John B.

Yelp
The towed my car for leaving it overnight after drinking. Apparently you have to ask for a sticker to leave your car parked overnight or else it will be towed at 1 am(I returned to pick it up before open the next morning) Give more notice or cover the cost of the tow
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered Mahi tacos. And they gave us pico de gallo tacos with a smell of the mahi. So different than other mexican restaurant. So disappointing. I expected more from this place. Never coming back, they changed for something else, but anyways we have to wait more. And when the other plate came the tilapia was uncooked in the center. Really!!!

Suzanne K.

Yelp
We ordered this for lunch to be picked up. It was over $100 as a group ordered at work to be picked up. I paid extra (.99) for sour cream. They didn't send it. I ordered a shrimp and steak quesadilla. They were skimpy with the meat and shrimp. It was mostly the wrapping with nothing. They advertised guacamole but didn't put any on the plate. The salad was gross lettuce, one slice of card-board tasting tomatoes, and a spoonful of sour cream. None of my co-workers were happy either. They were also missing items and the quality of food wasn't good. They've lost the business of my whole office ordering from them again. If my order hadn't been grouped together with everyone else's I would have called up and told them about themselves. I cannot understand why nowadays people are too incompetent to pack a bag with the correct items in there. I paid extra to get sour cream. My coworker was missing hers and the guacamole as well. It's fraudulent to advertise something and then not deliver. It's rude as well. If you ran out of guacamole then tell the customer and adjust the price. This is ridiculous. The food was not tasty. One of my co-workers got the same quesadilla as me and they were skimpy with hers as well. Additionally, it was expensive! My quesadilla was about $15 and I got a beef taco for around $3 and, of course, the sour cream that I didn't receive that I paid an extra .99 for. I still tipped generously for someone to pack up my bag along with the other five people who ordered at my office. I spent $23 on this. Never again!! We all (6 of us) discussed whether or not we would ever order from here again and it was unanimous that we would not. Too much money for yucky food that is also expensive and missing items.

Christian H.

Yelp
Casa maria has a great atmosphere. Great selection of tequila. Everyone that posted less then 5 stars is a square.

Arianna S.

Yelp
terrible service, overcharged the menu items, disrespectful and will never eat there again. we waited over 30 minutes before we could even place a drink order and waited another 30 to get our food order. the food was cold and drinks weren't refilled. we compared the prices on the menu to what we were charged and we were very overcharged.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Placed an online order to the wrong casa maria by mistake and when I tried to cancel the order less than one minute after it was placed they told me there was no way for them to cancel the order on their own website. Then their manager told his employee to just hang the phone up on me and after she hung up on me wouldn't answer my calls from then on. There was no way for me to cancel the order through their website absolutely appalled at how they handled the situation.
google avatar

Holly G.

Yelp
So here it goes. We started out at Bone fish. The crowd there was old to say the least. We Felt like outsiders. Uber was triple the rate so we crossed the rainy cold 3rd Street to Casa Maria and we did a shot first snd then a Margarita and a 32 oz beer. Smoking hot fajitas Texas. The grill flavor was perfect. Chips were crispy and addictive. Adonis was our bartender. He was I formative and eager to please.Have to say our Saturday turned out to be a pleasurable surprise. We WILL Be Back FOR sure. So the haters can stay away.

Ellie R.

Yelp
I genuinely did not wanna pay for my meal as it was just so disappointing. I'd heard that this place was really good from some friends, so I went with a group of three and everyone was let down. The salsa and guacamole were just not worth anything. The only thing I ate was the tortilla chips, which needed salt. One of the employees, a little older man who danced around and cleared/checked up on tables was really the only upside of our visit. Wish I could say something better:(

Amanda F.

Yelp
Food was just ok. Menu prices do not reflect what you are charged! Card system was down and it took an hour to pay. Wouldn't recommend....
google avatar

Thomas W.

Yelp
A great Mexican style restaurant. All the Mexican classic dishes. The flavors are a plenty. Full bar and fun atmosphere.
google avatar

Cheryl P.

Yelp
Finally! Tex-Mex in FL. Friendly staff and timely service. We had the enchiladas verde and a chili relleno/taco plate. The chicken was flavorful. The tomatillo sauce was perfectly tangy. We decided to try tue sopapillas. Oh my! Don't miss them. The only thing lacking for our taste was the texture of the chili relleno. We prefer one with a crispier coating.

Max H.

Yelp
The worst place you will go to. Terrible service, food, and atmosphere. Staff couldn't be ruder if they tried. Food took an hour-and-a-half. Honestly a pathetic establishment.
