Tu Metapán Restaurant Review - East Boston - Boston - The Infatuation
"Tu Metapan makes some great pupusas - they’re perfectly cooked and generously filled, and they’re only $2.50 each. Aside from pupusas, there is also a large selection of El Salvadoran platters with rice, plantains and your choice of protein. These platters are great for sharing, but otherwise are lacking any significant flavor." - Joel Ang
I do not recommend this restaurant. I called to order to pick-up. They told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I waited an hour, and they hadn't prepared it. Then they gave me my money back with a terrible attitude because they wanted me to wait longer. They didn't have the order ready. They told me it was the cook's fault. My whole family was left waiting because it was a big order. I will not return to this restaurant. I do not

Good food and friendly service. There’s usually a bit of a wait, and it feels like the prices keep going up, but overall it’s a solid choice.

I ordered chicken enchiladas. I guess the woman at the counter misheard me because what I got was a salad with grilled chicken. (Chicken ensalada) The chicken was decent, but the rest of the salad was a complete mess - hard tomatoes, watery shredded lettuce, and a jalapeno cut the long way. It's definitely not worth the $18 I was charged.

They make the best steak burrito on the planet... I stopped by yesterday to pickup one for supper... the burrito 🌯 never made it home. I ate it on the way.

I've only ever gotten delivery from here; never gone in person. The food is good, although we have noticed that it's not always consistent (e.g. a dish that normally gets served with fries, doesn't come fries other times -- odd!). Ordering over the phone can be difficult at times, especially with getting my street correct. In some cases, the phone gets handed around or a text from the driver is sent.

There is better places to go, I would recommend casa Amelia, el nopal, or típico centroamericano instead. You will thank me for it. I don’t usually rate restaurants but this experience was horrible. I was there for dinner and the server seems to be annoyed working here, my bill was able to came to the table first than my food.

Yelp
At first when I moved to Lynn me and my fiancé loved this place, but recently it hasn't been the same, I'm very disappointed in the customer service on the phone and also for making me a burrito quesadilla.

Yelp
The price per plate on the menu is 9.95 placed an order for pick up and paid close to $30 ! And the steak on one plate looks miserably tiny

Yelp
I was really craving some tacos. I've known about this place for awhile but never tried it. I ordered the beef, pork, and chicken tacos along with the carne asada and fried fish. The tacos were all good but I personally enjoyed the beef tacos more. I would definitely order the fried fish again (even my picky Asian mother loved it). The carne asada was okay but I don't think I would buy it again. The habanero sauce I asked for on the side tasted like it was watered down. But that's not a big deal I just substituted with my own hot sauce.

Yelp
The Al Pastor. Very good taco. The best I've had. They have great flavor and spice to where its not overbearing. they cooked them very well. The little fatty, seared bits are fantastic when you get them. If I can get a curated taco with just the fattiest bits it would bring them from a 9 to a 10. I haven't had too many Al Pastor tacos, so till I go on an Al Pastour of tacos I won't be able to rate it a 10 just yet, aside from the conditional exception mentioned. They're very reasonably priced as well with 4 tacos for $10. God is good!

Yelp
Update: this place has gone down hill as far as customer service wise. There's a new person everyday and bratty teenagers that can't seem to learn how to talk to people. (This is during the Rona pandemic btw) I understand people are upset some times. BUT EVERY TIME I GO? I'm sorry I can not support this place. I do hope in the future they change.

Yelp
This is my first time ordering from here since it's the only place close to were I live.
Am very pleased with the delivery a nice gentlemen, the pupusas are delicious they aren't heavy on seasoning but to my liking I really think they are too oily perhaps they added a bit too much cheese .
The horchata is very good just a bit on the sweet side but I mixed some almond milk and it's all good. I definitely recommend this place

Yelp
Food is always made fresh which takes some time but it's worth it. Price is reasonably and affordable so if your on a budget it's a good choice for you. Tacos , pupusa and tamales are delicious here which I love getting!
