Beautifully preserved and well laid out with displays of farming machinery. As I visited on a Sunday the workshops were closed but they looked very interesting and I will return to experience those fully. The restaurant looked very popular and was very busy so this is clearly the spot to dine on a Sunday. Stunning function room with stage which could be accessed through a tunnel displaying various artefacts and interesting wall features. All in all, worth a visit.

The Casa Museo del Campesino is a cultural landmark located in the municipality of San Bartolomé, in the heart of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. This museum is dedicated to honoring the traditional way of life, craftsmanship, and agricultural heritage of the island’s farmers, who adapted to Lanzarote’s unique volcanic environment. The site features traditional Canarian architecture, with contributions by the renowned artist and architect César Manrique, who incorporated elements that blend seamlessly with Lanzarote’s landscape. One of the highlights of the museum is the Monumento a la Fecundidad (Monument to Fertility), a striking sculpture made of recycled materials, which pays tribute to the resilience of the local farmers. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing tools, traditional clothing, and the methods used in Lanzarote’s distinctive agriculture, such as the cultivation of crops in volcanic ash. The museum also offers live demonstrations of local crafts, including pottery and basket weaving, as well as a restaurant where guests can sample authentic Canarian cuisine. It’s a must-visit destination to gain insight into Lanzarote’s cultural roots and the ingenuity of its people.

Visiting Casa del Campesino during the Day of the Canaries was a fantastic experience. The vibrant celebrations showcased the rich cultural heritage of Lanzarote, with music and colorful costumes creating a lively atmosphere. The beautifully preserved architecture and exhibits provided fascinating insights into the island’s agricultural history. The local crafts offered nice handmade souvenirs. The friendly staff and welcoming community spirit made it a memorable visit. Casa del Campesino is a must-see, especially during this festive occasion.

We ate outside to make the most of the weather, but check out the dining area downstairs and the tunnel to the alternate staircase , absolutely amazing set up and vibes. Food is a good example of Lanzarote cuisine, not too expensive and plentiful and staff are also attentive. Highly recommended! Enjoy!!

Worth a visit if you are interested in the culture, of local crafts, both agricultural and artistic, of the island of Lanzarote. Microcosms of a wider picture of the life of the island. Classes are often run there to give visitors a taste making the local goofier, and sauce making, a very interesting experience

Stunning architecture. I recommend visiting in a golden hour - at sunrise or sunset - the light would be perfect and a bigger chance to have the whole place for your own. The main parking might be closed at this time but there's a free unsealed space around the corner where it's safe to leave your car and have a walk.
