The valley’s oldest home (1837) opens for scheduled Sunday tours. Operated by the Historical Society, it often features bilingual storytelling that connects Pomona’s Mexican-era roots to today’s community.

Great to learn about my family history. I went on a tour about a year ago and learned even more this time.

Wonderful place to visit, find out how life was back in the days of no electricity or running water. The house itself is just a treasure to see, our tour guide Luis was very informative. Was also nice enough to show us the first kindergarten school of Pomona, which my kids just loved.I would recommend this visit, it takes about 15-30 minutes out of your day. Luis was happy to answer all questions and my daughter had one after another.

Visit this 1837 adobe house on Sundays from 2pm-5pm & step back in time. Louis, the resident docent, will show you around & share his wealth of knowledge.

Built in 1837! Luis is the docent, he gave us an excellent history of this humble yet monumental home.

Booked a tour and it was an informative experience, a hidden gem in Pomona that I feel that people need to be more well aware.

Really interesting bit of history in a bad part of town. New residents will whip this place into shape!

An interesting place to visit once or to take visitors. The live in curator was informative.

Yelp
If you're interested in historic architecture and enjoy museums, here's a fascinating place to visit in the heart of Pomona! This is the oldest existing home in the Pomona Valley, built in 1837 by Ignacio Palomares. Look for the Sunday tours available every other month for $5 a person! The tour lasts 30 min and you need to reserve a ticket ahead of time. It's slightly cooler in the adobe building but only about 10 degrees, so bring water and a fan if you get easily overheated. Jennifer is very friendly and knowledgeable. She tells you the stories and lore of the building, each room, and the grounds with expertise and humor.

Yelp
Still being refurbished, but then gentlemen working on it had a lot of knowledge of the site and the historical importance. Great piece of local history and the first stop to Adobe de Palomares.
