Casa Rosada means pink house in Spanish. This house is pink, but the name also alludes to Argentina's presidential workplace in Buenos Aries. Currently, you have to enter this business through the back door. My wife and I walked through a gated patio area to get to the back door. The patio had 4 tables with chairs. The interior is small, so ingress/egress can be tight. They had 18 flavors of gelato and 4 flavors of sorbet. They have vegan gelato and sorbets along with some sugar free gelato. The sugar free gelati are only prepackaged in small containers. Products are homemade so quantities are limited. Some flavors may not be available. They offer 6 types of classic Argentine drinks. Cortado, espresso, affogato, cappucino, cafe con leche, and americano.
We tried 4 gelato. All of them were very rich and creamy with moderate sweetness. The taste and texture was like premium ice cream.
1) Pistachio
Good natural pistachio flavor with notes of vanilla and egg yolk. No green food coloring. The butteriness was excellent! Well-made and deliciously satisfying!
2) Tiramisu and Fig
We got a small size with 2 flavors. The tiramisu had a medium roast coffee flavor with an underlying light mascarpone flavor. It didn't remind me of tiramisu. It was more like a cappucino flavor. That's the only negative. Otherwise, it's very good. The Fig gelato had a modest fig flavor like that of Fig Newtons. We love Fig Newtons, so this was great!
3) Sugar free Pistachio
This had the same great flavor as the sugared pistachio above, except this was less sweet and had a coconut milk flavor. I was told that they use a sugar substitute blend that has stevia in it. The other sugar free flavors are mocha, vanilla, and chocolate. You get them yourself from a glass door freezer and then pay for it.
The service was informative, attentive, polite, and quick. The store was clean. The customer floor space was small so it got packed with people quickly. Just wait outside until there's space. They have a restroom, but we didn't use it. There is street parking in the area which is paid via mobile apps or parking ticket machines. We met Raquel, one of the owners. She was pleasant and willing to talk about her products. She described some of flavors and the natural ingredients used. They make premium products that are worthy of their premium prices. We will definitely be back and I recommend a visit.
