Trinity Groves Spanish Restaurant Shutters After Less Than a Year - Eater Dallas

"Perhaps diners at Trinity Groves just don’t have an appetite for tapas. Before the closure of Tapas Castile, the West Dallas dining development was home to Casa Rubia, a Spanish restaurant that closed in 2017, and when it shuttered, Romano also said that the restaurant just wasn’t profitable enough." - Amy McCarthy

Tapas Restaurant Lands At Trinity Groves - Eater Dallas

"Of course, Tapas Castile isn’t Trinity Groves’ first tapas-focused restaurant. In 2013, Chef Omar Flores earned rave reviews and a James Beard nomination for Casa Rubia, which eventually closed its doors in July of last year." - Amy McCarthy

The service is great, and I like the location a lot. But the food isn't all that worth talking about. If you want authentic Spanish tapas, there are better options out there. Also, vastly overpriced. In Spain, where I grew up, you can get much better tapas from a corner street bar for 1/8th the price. They should improve the quality/authenticity of their ingredients if they're going to charge this much.

Yes...it's true, they have good food here. Spanish style restaurant with tapas dishes 'inspired' by Spanish cuisine. Great flavor and care in every dish. I especially like the ambiance because it feels casual, yet it could also somehow work as a special occasion type of place. You typically do not need a reservation for a party of 2, which is a plus for those spontaneous evenings

Tapas to perfection. When it comes to dining Trinity Groves offers a lot of choices. Casa Rubia is one you need to put on the top of the list. Dining with friends you can share the plates and get a lot more of the tastes. Of all things and believe me there are a lot of taste treats, the cauliflower was awesome. Service is top notch and it is not disappointing. They treat you as if you are the only table there.

Knowledgeable staff makes a world of a difference in going down the menu. Loved the Bocadillo choice, it has some of their highest valued meat, alongside some great cheese & dripped in honey. The tapas are varied enough to have a delicious amount of combinations. Although the sample platters might seem pricey, they are well worth it to get your taste buds ready & oriented for the food to come.

Absolutely phenomenal - imberico, crispy artichokes and short ribs were some of our favorites. Great drinks all around as well. Atmosphere both inside and outside was relaxing and inviting. Can't wait to visit again.

Delicious tapas in a great atmosphere. Trinity Groves is always a fun place to get dinner, and Casa Rubia brings a great experience for a great price. You have to try the pork short rib, it was fall off the bone delicious!

Service was terrible our waiter was completely disinterested in checking in with our table. We sat at the patio and we're never offered refills on water or alcoholic beverages. We would have ordered more if offered. A different waiter came and snatched menus off of our table Reaching Across people without so much as an excuse me . The food was average, rice in the paella overcooked, almost no vegetables in it either. Tortilla Espanola was very eggy, other tapas were ok. The octopus the was our favorite. For the prices we were expecting a lot better.

Great tapas selection, bar options and service. Very lively crowd. Gets a bit loud and you can't hear when trying to have a conversion. But overall the food and drinks were good.
