To start although there is paid street parking, they do offer free parking across the street in the lot. Everyone I encountered was very nice and friendly. When I first got there it was as cowarded on a Sun but about 7p a lot of groups started coming in. They have 2 bars with TVs. It is a nice ambiance. I had Nia or Niya as my waitress. I forget her name. She was amazing made great suggestions. I had the guac and chicken flautas. The flautas were delicious. You can tell the guacamole was made fresh. It just needed a little salt for me and since they do make it fresh I will ask for jalapenos to be added next time. Nia/Niya recommended the Tulum special and it was really good. Which I was surprised. The steak was even seasoned well and was tender.

It was a great experience. The music was amazing. Perfect for the vibe. Very cute.I like that there was a lot of elegant details and designs perfect for a first date specially, the drinks. I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but this place was great. Went out for our date night with my wife. The rice on my dish could had been warmer but still delicious. The most important detail I want to point out was that my wife loved the place. The food was delicious, the service was beyond great even though it was busy. Unfortunately I forgot our waiters name but he was amazing. Overall, we will be returning. Glad we took the chance to try a new place for us. Keep up the good work. Hope the restaurant does very well.

The food was pretty good overall, really enjoyed the diabla, fajitas, ceviche, steak, and red snapper. Flavors were on point, though the snapper could’ve been scaled better since I found quite a few scales. Prices are very reasonable and the drinks were solid for a neighborhood spot. Service, on the other hand, needs some work. We had to repeat ourselves, a few things were forgotten (even water), and there was confusion around a food allergy, after the dish was already served, we were told it could’ve been cross-contaminated, which isn’t reassuring. We ended up re-ordering and waiting for a really long time for something else. Our first visit had smoother service, so hopefully consistency improves. Overall, Casa Tulum has flavorful food and fair prices, and with more attention to detail and stronger service, it could easily become a local favorite.

The ambiance instantly transports you to Tulum. Relaxing, tropical, and full of good vibes. I started with the chicken and shrimp & cheese empanadas, and they were absolutely delicious. The shrimp and cheese empanada paired perfectly with the Chipotle sauce on the side. For drinks, I ordered the Rosa Pastel, which was refreshing and flavorful without being too strong. The coconut cocktail, on the other hand, was a standout. It was rich and creamy, served in a real iced coconut shell with coconut shavings on top. It tasted like a luxurious piña colada, and the tequila sneaks up on you in the best way. For my main course, I tried the Tulum Special, which included large, juicy shrimp, tender marinated steak, flavorful chicken, and sautéed onions with red and green peppers. It came with rice, cheese sauce, and warm tortillas on the side. I made a couple of tacos, and it was incredibly satisfying. The portion was generous. Its definitely a dish you can share or enjoy with leftovers.

From the moment you walk in here you can tell you're somewhere special. Once you're here your family, and then when you're here you know that you're in a different place. You left Chicago and you are now somewhere in the South Peninsula of Mexico somewhere by yucatan. The food was so amazing it's so the meat was so delicious it was so soft and the seasoning was on point. I would recommend this if you're going for a birthday or if you just want to go and take your husband or wife I would say do it. The hospitality is second to none. Gracias Ariel por la atención

Cute dinner vibe for the girls! I ordered the quesobirria (make sure you specify that) & it was soooo delicious! Honestly exceeded my expectations tbh. Burria is always a hit or miss so I was happy about that. My drinks were STRONG. The first drink (🍓 marg) lifted me up baby, but the second one (mojito) seemed to take the drunk-ness down some notches, that was a little weird lol but still tasted great. The atmosphere is very calm/chill & I loved the music selection they played! Definitely recommend getting spothero even though they offer some free street parking on site. Churros were very hard so I was disappointed at that but still pretty good overall!

The Casa Tulum took its time to open. But once it did - I was the excited next door neighbor customer The food is always fresh and made to order. My "Go-To menu item" was the Casa Tulum special which was a bed of rice, chicken, steak and shrimp with fajita vegetables drizzled with queso and a side of handmade tortillas. This was enough for 3 to eat so my family always found a liking in this item. Great portion size! I had the chance to order the empanadas and they were not my favorite so I'm not fully committed to orderi those again. However other menu items are next on my list to try. The decor and vibe of this place is very nice. The staff are kind and the place is always clean.

Excellent food, great service and nice ambiance. Loved the cool vibe and chic but tropical vibe. The food was freshly prepared - skirt steak was grilled to perfection, Casa Tulum specialty (grilled chicken, shrimp and steak on a bed of rice) and grilled salmon were standouts. Our server was charming and attentive. On street parking available, but there's complimentary parking in lot directly across the street.

Delicious food! Nice staff! Casa Tulum, in South Loop, Chicago, is a small, nicely decorated restaurant and bar. We called in an order from their online menu, midday on a Friday (Feb 2026). They were busy, yet had our pickup ready in 20min. We ordered a number of individual dishes and sides. All were quite delicious! We started with perfectly smooth creamy fresh $12 guacamole, topped with fresh chopped tomatoes. That's a nice amount shared among several of us as part of a full meal. To be fair, i could have eaten it all myself :-). We got the $24 trio of shrimp, tender white fish, and tropical fruit ceviches. Two of those had a nice lightly spicy zing to them, but i forget which ones. And instead of $4 chips, they gave us around six freshly fried crispy whole corn tortillas, a generous amount to break as needed, with sides of red and green salsa, both lightly spicy. The savory $15 quesabirrias were 3 flour quesadillas, filled with shredded tender hand-trimmed beef and cheese, seared in rich consommé sauce, served with crisp chopped white onions and additional consommé. Remarkable! We got a $14 trio of Yucatán-style "Cochinita Pibil" tacos, brightly achiote-orange-red tinted shredded marinated pork, slow-roasted. The flavor was rich with tangy orange juice and spices, enhanced with pickled red onions. Wonderful! The $14 shredded Chicken Tinga trio of tacos had a gentle chipotle flavor, decorated with, fresh crisp lettuce, soft white mild queso fresco cheese, and sour cream. We added $4 for a pair of small servings of black beans and yellow rice. Terrific! The $14 Birria trio of tacos were flavorful shredded marinated beef and melted cheese, wet with tasty consommé, in seared corn tortillas. We would have used additional consommé with the tacos de birria, so next time we'll request that. The $14 trio of veggie tacos were wonderfully over-stuffed with black beans, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and crumbled white cheese. Lovely! Six adults and one child had quite a delicious filling feast at less than $20 per person, and the staff here was quick and attentive. We will certainly return, and we look forward to trying more of their seafood dishes!

I've been here a few times and honestly the drinks are what keep me coming back. I actually used to come when this place was my favorite sushi spot, and they've done a really nice job with the remodel, open floor plan, spacious, and comfortable. Most of the food I've tried has been delicious. The steak tacos were a hit, and my cousin's carne en su jugo was amazing. I did have one mishap with the queso fundido, but everything else has been solid. One visit was a little awkward. They advertised a Margarita Day deal on Instagram and our waitress seemed unsure about it. The manager eventually honored the promotion, which I appreciated. Aside from that, service has generally been good. Overall, I enjoy having a local spot like this in the area and will definitely keep coming back, especially for the drinks.p

Everything was delicious! Birria tacos, ribeye tacos, chicken burrito, carnitas burrito, and guacamole. All delicious! Also loved the atmosphere and the glassware Great service!

I really enjoyed this, and I wanted to go back the next day! Ambiance: Beautiful! Definitely giving Tulum vibes and had a great photo op. Food: Absolutely amazing. I enjoy the tinga sopes and my son enjoyed the garlic shrimp. I absolutely LOVED the whole fried red snapper with the garlic butter sauce. It was soooooo good. I could only eat one side and brought the rest home. That rice soaked up the flavors nicely too. I love that they have a real coconut drink to bring home the Tulum/tropical vibe. However, I did not care much for the drink in it. I would have preferred a tropical coconut rum drink. This one was way to sweet though I love sweet drinks. Service: Impeccable. I always had everything I needed and food came out timely. Note: This restaurant is on Resy for all my AMEX folks, so that was a plus as well. I will be back!

Friendsgiving at the bar? Heck yeah why not? Top notch cocktails that are fresh, tasty & more importantly, effective! Classy professional service from bartendress Niya who has a lovely smile and friendly rapport. After cocktail#1 plus fresh chips & salsa, we were ready to imbibe on our favorite to-go Tulum Special, again! Like the 3rd time in a row! Can't resist the abundance of juicy shrimp, chicken, steak, red/green peppers over cheesy bed of rice, served perfectly hot, creamy and mouth-watering with EVERY BITE! It's really a perfect entree. More than enough for 2 meals so lucky me gets leftovers for lunch. Restaurant ambiance is impeccable & you feel like you're on vacation. Whole staff is A-plus! Can't wait to return & I promise to try new drinks & entrees :p

I came here in early December on a friend's recommendation, and I'm so glad she chose this spot. We went on a Wednesday night, and the place was still full which honestly made me really happy to see. I truly hope this restaurant continues to stay busy, because it deserves it. First off, the food tastes homemade in the best way deeply flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. The portion sizes are generous (honestly, the tables could be a bit bigger for how much food comes out not a complaint, just a reality). I ordered the Molcajetes, and wow absolutely incredible. It was easily enough food for two people. The red salsa alone was so tasty and rich, and I loved that everything was served warm, making the dish feel even more comforting and intentional. We also ordered the corn and a variety of tacos, and every single one delivered. One of my favorite parts of the experience was getting to learn more about the chef's journey how they came to cooking and eventually opening this restaurant. That personal story adds so much depth to the meal, and you can feel that passion reflected in the food. The decor is bright, cozy, and welcoming, and it fits the name perfectly. It's the kind of place you want to settle into, enjoy good food, and stay a little longer. I will happily come back here again. I'm truly rooting for this place, Casa Tulum is doing something special, and it shows.

I thought this would be a nice place to take my wife for lunch, but surprise. She treated me instead. The atmosphere is modern and trendy making it very comfortable to just hang out and snack. We originally planned on just one dish, but the more we looked, the more we ordered. Complementary nachos reeled us in and we order guacamole too; all made in-house. We had the queso fondito which was amazing, then I had fish tacos which were generously sized and tastefully garnished. Food overall was delicious, but the drinks really took it over the top. Cocktails and mocktails left nothing to be desired; flavorful and served with excellent presentation. It'd be easy to lose track of time in this place. Price was surprisingly reasonable and parking wasn't too bad either, for downtown Chicago. If I get a taste for Hispanic cuisine and I'm in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

A friend of mine came into town and told me that she loves Mexican food so I decided to take her here. It was our first time visiting this place for both of us and found out they are fairly new. We walk inside and the place is super gorgeous. Loved how everything looked. Staff was very kind and attentive. I was curious as they had a mango mojito which I've never had before so I ordered that. It was one of the best drinks I have had. I ordered a second one as a result! My friend ordered the original mojito. She enjoyed hers as well. We ordered the guacamole which was really good as well, highly recommend. We then ordered the skirt steak and the Tulum special which had chicken, steak, shrimp in a cheese sauce on a bed of rice. We enjoyed EVERYTHING. The skirt steak was longer than the plate and super juicy! I have to come back here if it's just for the mango mojito and warm environment. I hope they stay for awhile because they are really great. Thank you Casa Tulum. A+++ in our books!

I came here to hang out with my friend and honestly this was a nice little spot. It's cozy, clean, and has delicious food and great customer service. The food is reasonably priced. Their chips and salsa were very fresh and never had anything like it. I would come back to try other dish.

This place is close to me so figured I might as well try to generate my "true and tested regular eats list of South Loop". I think this made the list. The reservations fill up pretty quickly but I was able to get one the same day! Service was quick and efficient. I went with my 2 friends and we ordered the queso to share, which was hot, bubbly, and super tasty. I also got chicken tacos but wish there was more filling--was just chicken, onion, and cilantro. Definitely had to add a ton of sauce and some of the queso to amp the flavor and bulk of the meal. It was pretty inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Would likely return to try other tacos.

Casa Tulum is located in the south loop on Michigan avenue. The vibe of the restaurant is very much tropical vacation atmosphere. However the inside of the restaurant felt very warm and no breeze from the air conditioner. We came in around 6:50. The tables were full and we did not have to wait long for an open table. Our server was busy but friendly. We put in a drink order but it felt like at least 20 minutes before the drinks arrived. The order of chips and salsa was brought out a few minutes after we were seated. The chips were bland and did not taste fresh. The salsa was very good. The cheese sauce could be skipped and not worth it. This is when I got a sense that the service was a little disjointed. I ordered the Tulum special which was steak, shrimp, chicken served over a bed of rice with cheese, peppers and onions. The special came with corn tortillas but they were brought out later once I had already started to eat my meal. Another person in my group did not get their food when everyone else did so it made it awkward to eat while they were still waiting. The Tulum special was okay. If I were to go back I don't know if I would try it again. The service definitely needs some work. The fastest thing to come out was the dessert.

Casa Tulum is one of my favorite neighborhood spots -- and the fact that it's walking distance from our condo makes it even better. The Tulum Special is my go-to, but everything I've tried has been solid. Here's the honest part: service can be hit or miss. The owners and managers are always warm, professional, and attentive. But a few times, I've felt that some of the other staff weren't as friendly -- almost as if they were sizing us up instead of serving us. It's not a constant issue, but enough to notice. That said, the food and convenience keep me coming back. It's relaxed, tropical, and has real potential to be the go-to local hangout if they leaned into live music or fun specials.

What a difference service makes. Had such a great experience a few days ago I brought my husband to try it. We had a reservation and were offered a table or the bar. We made the mistake of choosing a table. Our server was friendly, but absent. Along with our food. At the one hour mark, we flagged someone down. A few minutes later, someone tried to bring us the wrong food. 10 more minutes and we flag our server who seems to be avoiding us (and the table next to us who had the same issue). I'm actually shocked he never stopped by to ask if we wanted a second drink or to say he knew about our delays. Given that we ordered two plates of tacos, I'm not clear what's taking so long - even with a full restaurant. We get food about 5 min later and my husband's food is really disappointing. We're starving so he eats 2 of the 3 tacos, but his tinga looks not at all like what I had 5 days ago and the tortillas-which are the best thing about their tacos-are grease soaked and falling apart. Mine are perfect. I wonder if they ran out of tinga and scrambled to toss together something, because the chicken did not look anything like what I ate a few days ago. Sadly, this will fall off our radar to revisit anytime soon. It was a really poor experience all around. If you go, sit at the bar.

The ambience was amazing, the staff friendly, the waitress was not attentive. She forgot everything and needed to be reminded. We did go on Valentine's Day so I did allow grace but it was terrible we ordered a second drink and she forgot about it, we received our Gauc and no chips. I wanted to have dessert but because of the service, we declined. I ordered the Red Snapper and husband order the Stuffed pineapple (Amazon). The Red snapper was not seasoned well. Their garlic bread was well seasoned -really great. i ordered the Cadillac Margarita with tajin (strong in a good way but mixed perfectly and Tulum Coconut (very sweet).

Casa Tulum is a hidden gem. Beautifully designed restaurant with a chic vibe. The ambiance is perfect for a night out with friends or a date. Dress up a little but it's not overly formal, but not super casual either I ordered the Red Snapper, which was delicious, though I found eating a whole fish a bit tricky. The sauce options were a great touch, adding extra flavor. I also added shrimp for $10, but with only five shrimp, it felt a bit overpriced. The dish came with garlic-seasoned rice and crispy fries, both of which were excellent. The drinks, served in real coconuts, were refreshing and tasted amazing. However, the first round had too much ice, which they adjusted for the second. Despite the great flavor, the drinks didn't seem very strong. Service was greater . Our server gave great recommendations, checked in regularly, and even the manager came by to ensure we were enjoying everything. Overall, we rated our meals between 7 and 8.5/10. I'd definitely return for the food, drinks, and stylish atmosphere. A great spot for a girls' night or a date! Would highly recommend, and I see this place getting more popular soon!

Another great new restaurant in South Loop! My husband and I had lunch here yesterday for an unexpected lunch date! I'm so happy we decided to check this place out. I have heard great reviews on our neighborhood Facebook page. It's so beautifully decorated, I kept commenting on how I felt like I was on vacation while we were dining there. They have quite an extensive menu, I hope at some point they add a lunch menu. They also have a kids menu! Which is really great for this neighborhood because there's lots of families around. We started our meal off with chicken empanadas - they were so tasty.. perfectly seasoned and fried. The dipping sauce for the empanadas was excellent. I ordered the shrimp tacos gobernador and whoa-- I will continue to come back here just for these tacos. My husband ordered the fried fish tacos. The servings were really large! I absolutely loved my shrimp tacos, and my husband even shared my plate too, i had him try some, he agreed, so very delicious. And again the serving was so large I had to share! The fish tacos were just OK. I think the batter on the fish needs to be seasoned a little more? It was still good in comparison to other fish tacos We've had here in Chicago, but might need a little bit of tweaking. I also ordered an Horchata coffee and OMG was that delightful. I can't wait to go back to try more things and to bring my daughter here. The staff is really nice. The restaurant is very clean and the bathroom is decorated with really fun wallpaper. Again you will definitely feel like you're on vacation!

We've only been once but we're so happy to have a new restaurant in South Loop! We definitely will be back! Our first visit did not disappoint! We were pleasantly surprised and impressed! Everything was flavorful and fresh, I loved all the flavors in my dish! In good fashion, we had plenty food and left overs! You get a good serving and it's not too pricy! The space is beautiful and large, good for girls night out, families and a date! Casual and fun space. Cocktails were fresh and boozy!

Casa Tulum has amazing vibes -- great energy, stylish decor, and a fun atmosphere that makes it a great spot for a night out. I had the cochinita pibil tacos, which came as a set of three. I was hoping to try a variety, but unfortunately, they don't offer tacos à la carte. The tacos were pretty good, but a bit on the dry side -- I had to load them up with salsa and lime to get the flavor just right.

We stopped in for a quick drink and meal, it happened to be Cinco de Mayo so the place got crowded real quick. The inside is vibey and fun, just what you'd expect from a fun Mexican joint. The drinks and chips/salsa were good, the tacos were also good. What wasn't good was the service. Our server disappeared halfway in, nowhere to be found. We had to flag down another server to get our bill so we could pay and leave. I get that it was Cinco de Mayo, but perhaps they should've staffed properly for it? Parking was real easy right on michigan.

Food was well prepared and authentic. Service was attentive - we never wanted for beverages. Place looks/feels like Tulum - and yes, we've been there.

Met with my girlfriends for happy hour, we ordered sangria's and Paloma to kick start the evening. The happy hour specials were decent nothing exciting. This was my first time back after they had briefly shut down due to a fire hazard a few months ago. We didn't get any entrees, the chocolate cake was mediocre.

Pretty solid Mexican cuisine in the neighborhood. The birria tacos were really good but the Baja fish tacos left a bit to be desired. My cocktail tasted very good but it didn't seem to have much of any alcohol in it. But the service was great. I will definitely be back to have another experience.

A really fun spot in south loop with great vibes and energy. The food was really good and flavorful, a bit of a limited menu for vegetarians but I had really nice fajitas. The service was slow but in a way that encouraged relaxing and conversation. Would love to see if they can expand vegetarian options!

The layout can be a bit confusing at first. There's a large open space before you reach the host stand, plus two bars. We've been here three times now, so we've figured it out; always check in with the host or hostess, no matter where you plan to sit. The bar area on the left doesn't have dedicated service, but you can still eat and drink there--they just want to make sure you're being taken care of. As for the food, the tortilla chips are thicker than we prefer, but the salsa is good. If your dish comes with tortillas, they are oily, which is unusual. That said, we always order the molcajete because the sauce is amazing.

The vibeeeeeee! When you walk in, the ambiance is date night or girls night, very chic. Went here for dinner and had the Red Snapper, it was delicious. We ordered two sauces - the garlic butter and another that included shrimp and onion. For drinks we had a Rosa Pasteles (something new they're introducing next week) and an espresso martini - ask for the coffee liqueur because at first it was just vodka and coffee . Chips and salsa come arrive before appetizers and entrees so you should bring an appetite. We sat at the bar and the bar tenders and other staff were friendly and check on us from time to time. I will definitely return with my friends to try other menu items.

I recently ate at Casa Tulum and was immediately blown away by how beautiful it was inside; you truly feel like you've been transported to Mexico. I was surprised I hadn't heard of this place before, but I learned they had opened briefly before a kitchen fire forced them to close. Now they're back, and I'm so glad I found them. I had been on a mission to find a whole fried snapper and stumbled upon Casa Tulum through a Google search. The snapper was absolutely delicious; we upgraded and added two sauces, a flavorful red sauce with sautéed onions and a garlic sauce. The garlic sauce could've used a bit more of a kick for my taste, but it was still really good. I'd recommend pairing the snapper with the shrimp that usually comes with the red sauce; I think it would have added even more depth to the dish. I also ordered the Tulum Special, which came with shrimp, steak, and chicken over rice with cheese. It was hearty, but a little too cheesy for my personal taste. The homemade tortillas that came with it were a nice touch, though. There are so MANY things on the menu I'm excited to try next time. For drinks, we had a piña colada and a mojito, both were on the sweeter side. But our server, Victor, noticed right away and brought me a non-sweet mojito instead, which was perfect. Speaking of Victor; he was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely seemed excited to be there, and had such a great personality. He's the kind of person who makes you want to come back to a place.

Came for lunch and found it all OK and but not at the level I'd want to come back. Moderately priced at $100 pre-tip for appetizer, 2 drinks, 2 entrees and a dessert. Guac - 3.5/5. Large portion. Good flavor. Smooth texture, which is a bit disappointing. Cocktails - 3/5. Coconut cocktail was quite good and balanced. But I got a passionfruit one that was a tad alcohol forward. Mole Oaxaqueno - 3/5. The waiter strongly recommended this dish and it fell flat for me. The mole just wasn't that complex. Churro - 3.5/5. Freshly fried, but could have use more sweetness.

Very Delicious and filling! I got the shrimp and cheese empanadas as well as the red snapper. I also enjoyed the strawberry margaritas. My waiter gave great service and menu suggestions! The tables are very narrow and if two ppl are dining together they would need another because it's really not enough room for multiple diners while eating. I had room because it was just me but the table beside me had to be relocated. The decor is stylish and chic. It feels like a vacation escape

So this is my new go to Mexican place It doesn't hurt that it is one block away. Ceviche trio is one of my favorites. Most of the other dishes are amazing and are NOT usual heavy Mexican fare. These are more gourmet and you can't go wrong.

The food, the service and the ambiance were great! I had the Tulum Special and was very pleased. The red snapper was excellent! It was huge, hot and delicious. The sauce was a great pairing. The ambiance was nice, and the staff & service were on point!

We are so happy this restaurant opened up in our neighborhood. Casa Tulum doesn't do the normal Mexican venue that you get in most Mexican restaurants. They do it Nayarit style and I have to say it is totally delicious. The service is great. It's convenient and the weight staff is top-notch.

Visited for a work trip. Not great, not bad, nice people. I had a great drink and the salsa was good as well. When I left, I let out some farts at my casa.

Great addition to the neighborhood! Great vibe inside too. Seafood is fresh and portions are quite large. For an app, I got the ceviche. Holy cow it was so large it could have been my dinner. I got the red snapper, highly recommend. They were busy on a Friday night, but we were able to walk right in and get a seat.

Welcome to elegant casual! THE best staff - super attentive and thoughtful. The fajitas were delicious the flan authentic and just right. Empanadas had a nice sauce on the side. Be patient- good meals can take time.

This place is a hidden gem of Chicago located in the south loop. My Husband and I went for dinner last night and sat at the bar. Raphael took amazing care of us. The place is decorated so intentionally we felt like we were on vacation. I especially liked the monkey lamps. The tv's show reels of beautiful travel destinations. It is so relaxing. They even have drinks served in fresh coconuts. The star of the show is the food though. My Husband ordered the Cochinita Pibil Tacos. You get 3 nice sized tacos. He said they are so delicious that he will crave them from time to time. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas with Mole Sauce. The Mole was spectacular!! It was a layering of flavors and a touch of heat. I honestly will probably order the same thing when we go back. The only thing that was slightly disappointing is that the red sangria comes out of a box. I would LOVE if they crafted some made in house. All in all 5 stars and can't wait to return.

Really nice spot in South Loop. Good tacos and no issue getting in for lunch with a friend.

I visited Casa Tulum on Cinco de Mayo, which happened to be their re-opening. First, I'm so glad I had a reservation since it was absolutely packed! I had the Rosa Pastel and Tulum Coconut cocktails, which were both delicious but I preferred the Rosa Pastel. We had their coconut cocktail oysters to start; they were very fresh but a couple were poorly shucked. It didn't affect the flavor, but it made them less presentable. For entrees we had the red snapper and the birria tacos. The snapper was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The birria tacos weren't my favorite, but I'd like to try the steak tacos in the future. All in all Casa Tulum is excellent, and I look forward to dining there again.

Great food and drinks, excellent service, beautiful space, reasonably priced. Will visit again soon.

Went for lunch on a Friday. Loved the vibe of the place. Good music, some might think it's a little loud. Staff were very polite and attentive. Waiter did a great job answering questions about different dishes. Our meals looked amazing when they were served, they smelled and tasted just as good. Very reasonable prices as well. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

A wonderful addition to South Loop! The food and service were top notch. I went on a Monday afternoon and there was ample seating at the bar. The Cadillac margarita was excellent and worth the upgrade. Also loved the complimentary chips & salsa. The star of the show was definitely the red snapper - phenomenal! My waitress Maykeling was so nice and personable. I can't wait to return and try everything else on the menu. 5 stars all around!

This is still a fairly new restaurant in the neighborhood, so I'll try to show a bit of grace. Ambiance: It's a nice atmosphere. Not too loud, and we were able to hold a conversation without shouting. Some of the tables for 2 are a bit small/narrow. There's only enough room for your drink and your entree. If you plan to order a couple of apps, too, you'd need more room. Service: We were seated quickly. The server and other staff were nice and checked in often - almost too often. It began to feel as though they were rushing us to order, and finish our meal. We were there for less than 2 hours, and the constant check-ins started early on. Food: I had the rib eye tacos. Rather than several smaller pieces of rib eye on a tortilla, it's served as a big slice of steak on the tortilla. My tacos came out barely lukewarm, so I had to send them back (something I hate doing). Not sure how long they had been sitting before they were served to me. The meat lacked flavor, and the tacos left much to be desired. The side of rice I ordered was flavorful, though. Drinks: I had a guava margarita. It was flavorful, and I'd recommend it. Since we felt pretty rushed, we didn't order more. Overall, I might consider returning for drinks and to try some apps. However, I'll wait until they get the kinks out. It's nice to have a new spot in the neighborhood, and I do want to see them do well.
