"Casa Velas provides the aesthetic and feel of a gated community with the amenities and services of a luxury hotel. The property looks like an hacienda, with winding rows of pale yellow casitas housing each of the sophisticated, traditional suites. The design and decor are charmingly Mexican, with many original pieces commissioned from area artists. The energy is mellow at all hours; During the day, wellness experiences like yoga, meditation, and mixing your own herbal tea in the garden greenhouse offer a welcome change of pace from poolside lounging. In the evenings, there’s easy entertainment, including a sunset violinist and acrobatic dances to opera. It’s virtually never crowded, as even during high season occupancy hovers around 30%. It’s easy to feel like the gorgeous grounds belong to you."

"Elegant and secluded, Casa Velas is a classic Spanish hacienda-style resort tucked away in the exclusive Marina Vallarta community. Shrouded in gorgeous jungle greenery, the Eden-inspired resort feels like an oasis, close enough to be a stone's throw from the airport, but decidedly far enough removed. Roaming peacocks and languidly swaying palm trees set the tone for an enchanting stay. The small resort has only 80 rooms, as well as a large central swimming pool lined with cabanas. While the resort is not on the beach, guests can take a quick shuttle to Tau Beach Club, where they have preferential seating and all meals included. Guests can also take a shuttle to sibling resort, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, for additional restaurant options and one of the best beaches in the area." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We just got home from six amazing days at your beautiful resort. Our stay at Casa Velas was excellent. It was the perfect place to relax, but also so much fun! Our breakfast and evening meals at Emiliano were truly 5 star. We utilized Tau Beach Club every single day and loved the personal service. We also had dinner at Tau two evenings and it was terrific with beautiful views! We have been to all three Velas resorts in the area now and love all of them. This trip was a gift to our son to celebrate his upcoming college graduation. His wish for a graduation gift was to go back to a Velas resort with us, so we decided on CV for adults only. We loved ending our beach days with room service champagne and our evenings relaxing on the patios visiting with the other guests. All three of us would like to thank Casa Velas for another beautiful vacation. We will be back! Every single employee provided exemplary service all week!

Casa Velas is a very laid back, sweet resort. The restaurant and garden are certainly the highlights. Our waiter Rodolfo was very thoughtful and catered to our needs perfectly (vegetarian and wanted some spice and flavor, not standard resort boilerplate).||The chef Ernesto put together a special surprise dinner just for us, coming out and introducing each dish. It was delicious, fun, and very creative. Rodolfo made his family recipe spicy salsa perique which was delicious and went great with most dishes.||Golf at Marina Vallarta on a Tuesday was mellow, course wasn’t too challenging but offered plenty of room to have a good time without other groups pushing speed of play. Room and facilities were clean and well decorated/landscaped. The all inclusive is truly all inclusive, including a well stocked fridge replenished daily.||While not on the beach, Tao Beach club is a short complementary shuttle or walk away. Antonio gave excellent cabana-side service making sure we always were a few minutes away from food and drinks.

This was not our first visit to Casa Velas, and it won't be our last! Casa Velas is located in the quieter area of Marina Vallarta (close to Puerto Vallarta). It is SO convenient as it is only about a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport. The resort is small, easy to navigate, and adults only, so it is on the quiet side. If you are truly looking for some "noise", you can visit the sister property of Velas Vallarta, either a 10 minute walk or quick shuttle ride away. The Tau Beach Club is where spend the majority of our time. And I couldn't leave a review without mentioning the staff! Everyone is wonderful, but I would especially like to call out Beny at the Beach Club (Beny always has a smile on his face!) and Armando, who took wonderful care of us and made sure we got where we needed to be. Already looking forward to our next visit!

We have visited Casa Velas for several years and honestly have to say service is not as good as it once was compared to our first experience. The little things that Casa Velas provided that made your visit extra special and desiring to return lacked this time. When you arrive the welcome of a cool towel, cold drink, and sample massage while checking in was partially offered (no massage this time). Having a complementary bottle of Casa Velas tequila and chocolates in the room to greet your arrival was not there. Luggage took considerable time to get to our room so that we could unpack and begin relaxing. If you don’t claim a chair poolside early morning, good luck getting a chair in the afternoon. Pool attendants and management were not helpful getting extra chairs for guests as they came to the pool. We witnessed this several times and very awkward for guests walking around the pool looking for a chair to relax. We had to move individual chairs across the pool area to find shade. Service at the restaurant, Emiliano’s was not as attentive as it once was, orders were slow and inaccurate. It appears most of the good service moved over to the beach club that now sells day passes for those not staying at Casa Velas. We miss the bed pillow menu that was once offered as well as the larger menu selection at Emilianos restaurant. The resort appears to be understaffed. Overall disappointed in our visit this time and service needs to improve for us to consider returning again.

We have enjoyed four stays at Casa Velas since Covid. Every one has been exceptional, so we will return this Spring for another relaxing, luxury vacation. From the online reservations staff to the resort and beach club teams, everyone is dedicated to a superior experience. I refuse to name staff in these reviews because I fear leaving one or two out. They ALL treat us like family and look after us.

We stayed 4 nights at Casa Velas during Christmas week. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The workers were all so kind and helpful. The pool and nearby golf courses were great. Our favorite was the beach club. The resort provides shuttles with little to no wait. Special shoutout to Ulises, Juan and Ramon for their amazing service. We will see you all next year!
