Best Colombian food and service I have ever experienced in my years of living here in Texas. Highly recommend to anyone or any family looking for a reasonable priced lunch/dinner with a great atmosphere and an amazing staff to go with it. Will definitely be back again.

A very pleasant restaurant where you can enjoy several authentic colombian dishes. Live music on Saturday night and people dancing energetically to the music. Our group had a great time and we were able to eat even though we arrived at 11 pm. The dishes are fairly large, I only ordered the arepa con carne and it was enough to fill me up. Looking forward to coming back

The restaurant was clean, service was great and everyone really enjoyed their food. The juices were delish to add to the meal. The empanadas are of the chain and you should try them. I highly recommend this place. It's family friendly. They probably don't have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options but you could find something like rice, beans, juice, arepas, plantains, etc.

I visited with several of my girlfriends. It was our first time and our waiter took the time to make suggestions and explain popular dishes. He was so helpful and made our experience really great! Several of us ordered the juice smoothies. I got the guava and I’m still dreaming about it. One girlfriend got the soursop and she was so happy because she had not tasted it in years. I started with the beef empanada and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It topped each bite with this amazing sauce they had on the table. I got the mini Bandeja Vieja as my main and it was so good. Everyone loved their food and each plate had huge portions. I’m definitely coming back!

I grew up it here and the season of food really good and and then met since a child and this deserves five stars

I use their online menu to order my food, I ordered the Chicharron Plate and it showed the price of $9.25, I went to pick up my food and I was charged $20 for it and my food was a bit good. The meat wasn't crunchy at all and the bean tasted old They had an after taste them. They really need to fix the menus online.

As a Colombian I am picky about my Colombian food. This place is the go to spot for Colombian food besides my mother's house of course. For starters always get at least one empanada as an appetizer, they are packed with beef and potatoes and full of flavor. When I go I usually get the Carne Asada with a side of Patacones (fried plantains) for my meal. The steak is cooked perfectly, comes with a potato that is smothered in cheese and some sauce. The fried plantains are nice and crispy. They bring out two salsas and I put them on everything because they are just that delicious. Other plates to try are the Bandeja Paisa and Picada. The service is always friendly and they make you feel at home. The vibe is perfect for family dining. Try it out you wont be disappointed.

My family and I love coming here for some Colombian food! My favorite is the empanada plate ! The empanadas are packed with flavor and the rice and beans are seasoned to perfection! Always great food! My parents love getting the Bandeja. Service can be iffy depending at what time you go given the more packed the more wait time you will have. But overall I will always come here for some Colombian food in the dfw area!

First of all let me start by saying that the food they serve is Colombian. Two O's. There is no U in Colombia or Colombian. Second of all I wish I could give them 3.5 stars for a few reasons but I rounded up bc the food truly is delicious. Their service is honestly like a 4/10 it definitely has room for improvement. Their prices have increased (as every place has) We ordered empanadas. Each empanada is $4. This seems a little heavy on the price but I guess if you weren't used to Colombian food it's expected. I ordered a colombiana drink and my husband ordered a tamarindo drink. We ordered a bandeja paisa and SPLIT it. This plate is like ~$21. We added an egg since we were sharing. We had a huge party so there was a tip already added. Somehow all of this turned out to be like $52. It feels super expensive for what it is but again- I ate this food growing up so in my head I know the amount of effort and there is nothing on that menu I didn't have growing up or when visiting family in Colombia.

The exterior is unassuming, but inside the place is lavishly decorated with gorgeous little art dioramas and other Colombian cultural artefacts. Servers had us seated and ordered real quick. Extremely efficient set up. The food was fantastic. The plantains are to die for. The brisket was fall apart tender. Even the rice was flavourful and indulgent. The portions were huge and luxurious: more than I could hope to eat in a single sitting. Looking forward to trying everything else on the menu.

OMG! This place is a gem! I ordered the bistec con huevos, it comes with rice, beans and fries which I replaced with yucca. The portion is huuuge! I was really hungry but I couldn't eat up. It takes like homemade food, like granny's food. Just right and perfect the way it is! And, they also have some real fruit juices! I'm not Colombian, but as a Latina this food hits home

So happy we found this place!!! We got there 30 minutes before closing on Sunday. We ordered carne asada con papa choreada and bistec con yuca guisada. All was good and the rice brought back memories of my grandma's rice in Cali. The beans were softly cooked. The carne asada was way too salty for my taste but the bistec was seasoned beautifully with garlic and herbs and little orange notes dancing in you palate. I don't enjoy spicy food but did risk tasting their hot sauce and both were vinegary and spicy. The hot sauce was amazing in the fried empanada which was meaty and those soft potatoes and criollo seasoning was the best combination. The shakes sounded so good but due to my dietary needs wasn't able to enjoy Lulo or Raspberry which were my favorites to transport me back to Carvajal in Cali! Easy parking, very clean establishment except for shopping center it's located at. Service was so attentive and extremely polite servers.

Let me start by saying: I am Colombian and I endorse this restaurant !! OMG !! This place was good !! We had never been to this place before but after our visit I feel like we are family !! No joke, from the moment we came in we were not only greeted but welcomed with enthusiasm! I thought maybe they knew some of the people in our party but no, it was all our first time there and that is just how the staff is. We were quickly taken to our table and provided with a menu but also offered some of the drinks from the bar or just regular drinks. That was nice because it got us engaged in conversation right away and not the typical "here is your menu, I'll bring you water while you figure out what you want - - I'm busy - - " kind of treatment you get at other places. I started the night the typical Colombian way, shot of aguardiente and a soft drink, in my case a Crema de Limón or lemon cream. I ordered a "morcilla with yellow potatoes (papa criolla) my favorites. I haven't had those in sooooo long, maybe 7 plus years. I ordered a second portion shortly after the first one came. The morcilla was really good. Not overly seasoned or with chunks of onions or anything like what you may find at places where they cut corners... it was very well done. I ordered a "bandeja paisa" or typical platter... comes with rice, beans, fried egg, chorizo, pork skin, flank steak, plantain, slices of avocado. Everything in it was great !! Again, sometimes you find beans made with chunks of onions or pieces of fat to "give it flavor" but that is the gross and lazy way to add flavor. These were good beans, made by someone who cared. For dessert I got me a side of figs with cheese and arequipe (dulce de leche - not caramel - is not the same) and another crema de limón. This will be definitely a repeat visit next time I visit Texas.

Food was beneath belt line restaurants! I never complain about prices when the foods worth it but this place has raised the prices and since I lived here before I expected that but the food wasn't worth the old prices anymore and definitely not the new prices! They also add 20% tip to their tickets without saying a word and they don't care about your complaints! I think it's time for them to either sell out or close altogether!

My fiance is Colombian and she cooks Colombian food all the time. Additionally we love to try different Colombian restaurants and by far this one is the best. The service was excellent and the food, most importantly, was phenomenal. They also gave you so much we had to take to go plates so i recommend going hungry definitely lol. We will definitely be going back very soon

As a new yorker, one of the things I miss the most is the easy access to the many cuisines.. especially my Latin ones. With Casa Vieja I am now able to get my Colombian fix. The music, the decor, the staff and even the food transports me back to Jackson Heights Queens.. even if only for an hour or two.

Trying out more authentic food isssss life. Im so glad my homegirl dragged me to this spot. Ive never eaten Columbian food and I'm in love with the meat,beans, rice, and the PORTIONS! They also serve fresh fruit smoothies and guava was definitely delicious and sweet. Empanadas were.... Chefs kiss I forgot the name of the entree I got but it was $20 for all this meat and sides. I was sooooo full. definitely, a spot I recommend for everyone who loves meat, rice, and beanzzzzzzz.

Casa Vieja has definitely gone downhill. It used to be the best Colombian food around. Today was the last straw when I was served an undercooked pork chorizo! Instead of comping my plate because I just took a big bite of it, they just brought me a new chorizo. I lost my appetite. Now I have anxiety that I'm going to get sick from raw pork. NEVER AGAIN. Save yourself the time. There are plenty of other Colombian places that actually care about their customers health.

Beware!!! They overcharge from the prices on the menu and the service is not good. The food was not worth the price charged. Don't waste your time or money.

First time at this Colombia restaurant. Very clean and friendly place. I want to say very happy with the service it was amazing there food was very good but a little to pricey.I think for Empanadas shouldn't cost so much there are $4 for each and there juice is great but pricey too specially if your going to pay like that change the cups for a special cup.Also the food is very good but ones again to pricey. Our bill to only eat there was over $150

Let me start by saying that this is Colombian/Latin Food at its best. The food es fresh, tasty, and the portions are very generous. Each plate comes with different sides, and you can change them. My favorite part is the juices from natural fruits, they can be done with a base of water or milk. The prices per person are about $20-30 dollars per person, if you have appetizers or soup it can be around $40. They have plenty of seating both booth and tables for small and large parties. They open daily from 11AM.

Way over priced for most of the main dishes And empanadas not worth how pricey they are. Don't understand why most latin restaurants here in the Dallas area think they are high end seafood restaurants. Another disappointing experience...left as soon as I could

It's really hard to pick a good restaurant when we come to Texas because there are so many! But today we wanted some Colombian food and we heard praises about Casa Vieja so we just had to check it out. Walking into the restaurant, I immediately was feeling the vibe. The lively decor and friendly staff made me feel like I was already going to enjoy my time here. They have a variety of options to choose on the menu. Now I'm not Colombian and I'm not too familiar with Colombian food however my husband is and he vouches this place so that is a good sign. For my beverage, I got a mango smoothie made with milk. They have a number of different fruit smoothies where you can choose it to be made with water or milk. It was delicious! For my dinner I got the Plato Caribeño. (Which translates to Caribbean Plate) it comes with your choice of grilled steak, chicken or pork (I chose the steak). Along with rice beans, plantains and avocado. I opted for extra plantains because I didn't want beans. The food was very well seasoned and full of flavor. And the plates came with good portions so you will have leftovers or at least be very full. They also have " ají " on the table. Ají is a Colombian salsa that is used for empanadas and other meats. I put it on my steak and it complimented it very well. So good!! They also have a section in the middle of the restaurant where on the weekends they clear out the tables and it becomes a dance floor. However, due to COVID, they haven't been doing that. But I'm sure they will start again once the pandemic is over...hopefully.

The food was amazing. Each bite had a good amount of flavor! They have juices and smoothies that are made upon request! I had gone on a Sunday and it was a very busy morning for them but worth the wait!

This restaurant is a breath of fresh air! I grew up around Colombian food and it was refreshing to find a restaurant with authentic flavor here in the DFW ! Their empanadas are fresh and tasty, I ordered the Bandeja Paise and if it wasn't for my hour lunch I would've stayed and ordered more. Their drinks are delicious and the staff is very nice and welcoming. Definitely my new favorite lunch spot!

So happy to find this place! We've missed Colombian food since moving from Miami and me, especially the patacón! This place is very authentic and the staff were friendly and attentive. Portions were quite large and the flavor of everything was amazing!

Very disappointed visit after many years of not dining in. Food was very pricey for the quality. We ordered chicharrón and bandeja paisa and was not impressed with the beans, chicharrón and carne.

I've been craving mondongo for a while now, so I asked a coworker where to go because she's Colombian, and she should know right? Anyway, finally got my fix today! It's was delicious and I'm satisfied for now, empanadas and mondongo hit the spot today. I will definitely be back!

Never had Columbian cuisine and it was delicious the pork was so crispy, and the yucca perfection. Definitely will be back!

5 stars for the delicious authentic food! First we started with the fried yucca and corn bread, wow... crispy, warm and tender. They beat tater tots for sure! I could eat plate after plate of them. And, they came with a very unique tasting sausage. The sausage was course not ground and included large pieces of spices and flavorings. Almost tasted fermented. They have many varieties of fresh fruit drinks and it will take at least a dozen visits to go through all of them. My daughter tried the mango mixed with milk... It tasted like an orange slush / smoothie but even better. Fantastic! Then our main meal came, we both ordered the same item. Small thin skirt steak atop the most delicious rice, I don't eat rice, put I ate every piece of this rice. This was covered by two fried eggs, a piece of avocado, one of their flavorful sausages, and a potato disk (this was kind of bland). That was on about half the plate the other half was some of the most delicious beans I ever had. Service was solid - fast, efficient and attentive. On the down side, we thought the prices were high for the type of food and the food quality. And the decor is like 60's garage sale. But this review is on the food... and the food was definitely five stars

Like the fruit juices and the fried plantains quite a bit. However, overall menu prices have been raised to a very high level for what they serve. On top of that they added additional 20% tips for my to go order (just fruit juices and plantains) without authorization after I already tipped on the credit card bill - I just noticed that additional 20% tip on my credit card statement... talking about being greedy and unethical- that is stealing from customers. I will not come back here.

Delicious authentic Colombian food, and they also have fresh exotic fruit smoothies. Bring a big appetite because portions are big, which is what is expected. Friendly staff and fast service. I highly recommend. We ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and the Caballero steak.

This is my favorite Colombian restaurant in Texas. Their empanadas are always fresh and crispy. This is about as close as I get to my Abuelita's cooking. The juices are great and the flavors of the food always hit. The service is always quick and the staff very friendly. I come when mi seleccion is playing and they're always showing the game. I'm going to keep coming back as long as the food is as good as it is!

Continuing my Latin American food hunt, chose to try Casa Vieja. Definitely a great restaurant for some good Colombian food. Drinks : They have a wide variety of fruit flavored margaritas, mojitos & milkshakes. Chose the custard Apple margarita frozen and the blackberry margarita. The margaritas were good but the fruit flavors were not a highlight. Tasted like a regular margarita. Appetizers: The beef empanadas with the house salsa were awesome. Highly recommend it. Entree : Tried the most popular platter (don't remember the name). The smaller size still had a lot of food - pork skin, fried egg, sausage, steak, avocado, rice, beans and fried banana. A very good mix of food and flavor. Ambience : A cozy little restaurant. They have a live band and a dance floor. Latino music gets your body moving for sure :) Service : Friendly, fast, efficient and good suggestions. Price : Not bad for the amount of food that is served. Reasonably priced. Will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant to friends.

Everything is sooo amazing here from the empanadas to the bandeja paise to the Picadas! We always order extra so we can take some home! It's very tasty. COLOMBIAN CRAVE CHECK! Only thing that I didn't like too much was the arepa was a bit dry but every meat and starch we tried was delicious. Would definitely recommend! They are always playing music and servers are very nice. The tables are very clean and they have hand sanitizer and everyone wears masks.

A desire to sample the Colombian favorite mojarra frita con patacones brought us here for dinner recently. It's unassuming from the outside, as part of a fairly pedestrian strip mall, but it's got what it takes on the inside. First up, we tried the jugo de lulo, a uniquely Colombian drink that's made from a tropical fruit native to the country. It was thick and delicious, not too sweet, and very refreshing. Next up was dinner, and in addition to the above mentioned mojarra, we ordered the mini bandeja paisa. Don't let the name fool you, it's not that small. Featuring a nice, meaty chicharron, it also stars Spanish sausage, sweet plaintains, egg, corn cake, thin steak, and rice and beans, All of it was delicious, especially the chicharron that was crispy yet meaty. Two could easily share this plate. But the star of the show was the mojarra. It's a whole fish, typically tilapia here in the States, fried whole and left on the bone, and the cooking process gives it a unique crispy on the outside, tender on the inside texture. It was well seasoned, and it's easy to get off of the bone when you have a Colombian helper that's familiar with the process (ask for help if you don't have one :) ). It was very, very good, and getting it off of the bone kind of helps you pace yourself while eating, so it's a win-win. We had a great meal here, and it's definitely a good place to go if you want some authentic Colombian cuisine!

First time getting Columbian food! I'm allergic to bananas and plantain so I ordered a nice chicken with avocado and rice. Must say the chicken was great and tenderized. I will be coming back!

Very impressed! We had never tried Colombian food before. This place is nothing special on the outside, but the food makes up for a lack of a nice facade. We had the empanadas as an appetizer, and we were not disappointed. I added Black Sausage to my order, and it was the best thing on the plate. Everything tasted great. We will be back.

The food is delicious! I would definitely recommend this place. Texas is known for having a myriad of options when it comes to Mexican cuisine so it was nice to find a place that offers a different kind of Latin cuisine. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and I didn't feel any pressure even though we came an hour before closing (which I hate doing). Not only is the food authentic but the ambience is too- the décor, the setting. It's nothing too fancy so it's a great place to come relax and get some yummy food. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't have the sweet corn arepas :(

Good solid Colombian restaurant serving the typical Colombian dishes. No Colombian fast food to be had here though. But I'm glad to finally try this place after trying the other one nearby. This place is more of a restaurant - although casual with its cheap table clothes. But nevertheless, it's more of a restaurant whereas the other one is more of a cafe and bakery (which is great, if you like Colombian pastries). And I was also told that this place used to be much smaller in the past. Glad to see that they're growing. I ordered beef empanadas as an appetizer, and I have to say that they're tastier than the empanadas at the other nearby location, and also more plump - both of which I really appreciated. I would not mind ordering this again. The waitress also came by with the sancocho de res, or the Colombian beef soup, and it looked really good, in a way that would make you feel cozy right by the fireplace. Next time. I also tried the bandeja paisa here (fried egg, maduros (fried ripe, sweet plantains), beans, avocado, chicharrones, sausage, thin grilled steak, and rice), and I thought it was pretty much on par with the other location - except maybe the chicharrones (strip of fried pork belly) were better, and the egg was properly cooked "suave," with the runny yolk for the chicharrones. The sausage was alright, and the carne asada (beef) was also alright. I think the carne asada could have been better seasoned and maybe a better cut, since it was a little on the rubbery side, but it was still satisfying. The arepas were soft enough, for the Colombians - but Colombian arepas would never be as fluffy as the Venezuelan ones. They can keep trying. LOL. I was surprised to see they also have a mini version, but it was only $2 less, so I opted for the regular-sized platter. My friend also ordered the picada - which I thought looked better than my plate. It came with chicharrones, morcilla (blood sausage), chorizo (regular sausage), patacones (or tostones/ mashed green plantain chips), yuca frita (fried yucca), avocado, and an arepa. And I sampled it - and the patacones and the fried yuca was just perfect, and the other stuff are great too. Overall I thought this plate was a better plate even though the picada is traditionally made to be a snacking plate for groups. I probably would forgo my usual bandeja paisa for this plate next time. So yeah... I think it's pretty clear by now - I'll be back to try some other stuff. :) Great place for Colombian food in Dallas - if you know what to order, and if you even like this usually-heavy cuisine.

Yum, yum, yum. The food was delicious and authentic. The server was incredibly friendly and asked us if this was our first time eating Colombian food. This was not my first time, but it was for some of the other people I was with. He took his time to explain some of the dishes and made us some recommendations. We ended up getting the bandeja paisa and I got the guayaba con leche. The food and drinks did not disappoint. The guayaba con leche tastes like 100% juice and the bandeja paisa was a large portion. It came with rice, avocado, meats, and a fried egg. It was a good portion of flavorful, tender meat. Overall, this was a great place and I would go here again.

This place is great! And by "great" I mean authentic. You really can't go wrong. BUT, if you are new to Colombian food here's a list of some of the things I suggest you sink you teeth into: 1) Empanadas: There's nothing like a Colombian empanada. If you think you've done the empanada thing but haven't tried these you have been lying to yourself. Ask forgiveness of yourself and place your order. ¡Que rico! 2) Bandera Paisa: If you want a sampling of al the starchy-meaty-goodness, try this. 3) Bistek al Caballo: If you need to ease into a new regional cuisine, this is a great choice for you. 4) Jugos/Fresh Juices: Try maracujá en agua, mora en leche or try lulo if you want something unique and delicious. 5) Don't forget the sides: Patacones (some people know them as tostones), Yuca (fried, boiled, anyway is the right way), Platano Maduro. Now, here's the honest truth... The arepas con queso are good. They are. They are good. But you can get better arepas at other Dallas establishments (cough, mutter, Zaguan, cough).

I don't know about this. I might have ordered the wrong thing? I will give them another try. I got my order to go. One shish kabob of steak and chicken with rice and beans. It came with sweet plantains also. You can never go wrong with sweet plantains. That is my all time favorite!!! I can never get enough! The steak in the steak and chicken kabob was chewy and hard. It was too tough to eat so I threw away all the steak and ate the chicken. This dish was really salty. Is that how columbian food is suppose to taste like? salty? I'm not much of a expert in this area of cuisine. Prices are expensive. My one shish kabob plate came out to be $14 for to go. That is a bit much for the quality that I got.

When we arrived, seated and were given menus, first I observed that the menu I received was NOTHING like the one they have on the internet. The prices are very high and many items are not available. When I asked the owner about the menu, she said, Oh that menu is 10 years old that has a shish kebab for $13. (It shows it was uploaded March 2023). Now, the shish kebab is $20. I ordered a tamale - and a Columbian tamale is NOTHING like a Tex Mex tamale. It was supposed to have a sampling of chicken, beef and pork. The tamale is about the size of the entire plate and covered with a banana leaf. When it arrived, it had NO MEAT at all. When I asked about that, they said they made a mistake and took my plate. When they brought it back, the "new" tamale had a small piece of chicken which was mostly bone, and a very small cut of beef rib and pork rib, both were almost all fat and bone. Extremely dissatisfactory. No effort made to address our complaints.

Came here last night and the food was great. We got the empanadas as app and it was prob the best empanadas I've ever had. They give you two different kinds of salsas that are really simple but delicious. The red one is spicier of the two but they both go great on everything. It's not like your typical tomato-based salsa, but more like a vinaigrette with green onion and other little bits of yumminess. We ordered the Picada Casa Vieja and the blood sausage and ground beef with rice. The portions are huge and everything was cooked perfectly. The ribs and the pork skin was amazing! The only thing I would say about this place is that afterwards you go home super bloated and dry mouthed because of all the salt. But it's so damn good. I was looking at all my leftovers in the box and was just thinking that all of that awesomey fried goodness won't taste nearly as good the next day. What a shame. In this epic battle of woman versus food, food won!

I have been coming here since 2004. No matter where I am or go, when I'm near the restaurant I will stop in. I've never had issues or any complaints. Their food is wonderful and well worth the cost. It's the same staff majority of the time ; they are so nice and caring. Even if they are busy, they don't forget about you.

Typical Colombian...except for the... I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia. I miss Colombia, the people, the culture, and the food. I get it all here at Casa Vieja. Colombians not only eat here, but work here. There's always fútbol playing on TV. But the food...ah, yes, the reason you're reading this review: the food. Eat it. ALL of it. I've never had ANYTHING here that wasn't tasty as as close to genuinely Colombian and as it gets. From the fresh fruit juices (in water OR milk) to every dish they prepare, it's as authentic as it can be... Except for their coffee. Ha ha! The irony. It tastes GREAT!! But it isn't Colombian. I asked. --- Vivía en Bogotá como niño. Me extraña mucho a Colombia, la gente, la cultura, y la comida. En Casa Vieja puedo encontrármelo todo. No solo comen aquí otros Colombianos, pero también trabajan aquí. Y la comida--si, la razón de que lees esta evaluación--la comida. Cómela! Toda! Nunca me han servido nada aquí que no ha sido delicioso y legítimo Colombiano. En Casa Vieja puedo encontrarme de todo. Desde los jugos frescos (en agua o en leche), hasta cada plato que preparen, tiene el sabor auténtico... Menos el café. Que ironía. Tiene buen sabor el tintito!! Pero no es Colombiano. Les pregunté.
