The Culinary Bromance Lighting Up Orange County’s Restaurant Scene | Eater LA

"Their earlier partnership on Blanca in Newport Beach was short-lived and, because neither partner was fully ready, the restaurant floundered and set both chefs back." - Jenn Tanaka

If you’re looking for a truly authentic Moroccan experience, this is the place! We went for the meal plan, which included flavorful appetizers, a perfectly cooked plat principal of couscous with tender beef, and the most delicious baklava for dessert. Every bite tasted like it was made with love and tradition. The atmosphere transported us straight to Morocco—the décor, the music, the warmth—it all felt magical. The food was so good that I had to kiss the chef, Myriam! I’ll definitely be coming back for the crème brûlée and, of course, to enjoy the belly dance show. A feast for all the senses!

What a gem of a find. Some of the best food ever! Amazing setting - takes you on a journey to the Mediterranean and from there it only gets better. Do not miss the opportunity- book now. Plenty of parking in the street. We will be back soon.

Update: Sept 23, 2025--Closed Down. Empty I went to Casablanca the restaurant with a group of co-workers. We had the most amazing service and homemade food. The owner himself served us and entertained us with stories. Each of us had a different dish and they were all delicious. The grilled meats were so tender and flavorful with the couscous. We finished with a dessert platter with stuff dates baklava and creme brulee. Even though we were all full it was too good to leave alone. This place is definitely worth coming back to and I hope to each time I'm in town.

What a gem nestled in Newport Beach. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted warmly. Service is fantastic, and you feel like you are family. The decor and atmosphere take you away to the spirit of North Africa. The food is utterly incredible. You won't be disappointed. This was an experience I won't forget.

Google
Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere and decor ! There was a very beautiful belly dancer and very nice Arabian music, I had fun dancing with the belly dancer. Also I loved the tv screen where it displays all amazing spots of Morocco and Spain. The waitress was kind and helpful and the boss was lovely and mindful. I highly recommend checking it out.

The service here was amazing. The gentleman that greeted and served us was amazing. He was so funny and full of life and every time he came to our table we were laughing. He highly recommended the house wine and he was right, it’s delicious! I got the ratatouille and I love the flavoring of the carrots. The food tasted so fresh. My friend ordered beef on a skewer and it melts in your mouth! I will definitely come back! Cannot beat that service. That gentleman truly loves what he does and he turned our regular Wednesday night into a special and exciting evening, just by being himself. He even walked us out the door and waved goodbye.

After having one of my worst restaurant experiences of my life at the restaurant next door, my friend and I walked over to Casablanca and had one of the BEST experiences of my life! We were greeted by a very warm-hearted man with a welcoming smile by the name of Abder. From the moment we walked in, to sitting at the table, he made it feel like home. The food was amazing! The atmosphere was awesome! And just the way the entire staff made you feel so welcoming made you feel like you couldn't wait to come back again and bring all your friends! I know I can't wait to share this place with all my friends. Go and experience it for yourself. Enjoy!

I wanted to write this review to thank Casablanca The restaurant for their outstanding service and delicious food, I went their to celebrate Yenayer ( Berber New Year ) the atmosphere was great I felt home the staff was very professional and pay attention to details, the owner was very nice offered me a Bourak that was amazing and the main dish was couscous let me stop here so I can put hands down to the chef she did an amazing job from the smell to the test to tenderness of the lamb it was amazing at the end they brought me a tea and Sfendje as a dessert. Thank you again and I highly recommend this place if you want a tasty authentic North African food their menu is so rich with interesting dishes.

Yelp
UPDATE: Ok...updating this because I see that the business responded. 1. I didn't talk to you or anyone on the phone. My sister was the one that called and asked about the charge. I have no clue what you are talking about with your "blackmail" comment, but that's a pretty big accusation that has nothing to do with me, so I would be very careful with that. I didn't agree with the service charge or entertainment charge or whatever you want to call it, but paid it and am not disputing anything. 2. Exactly which part of my review is inaccurate? The amount of time we had to wait? I can prove it took that long. The fact that you didn't bring out food for two of the people in our party even after waiting THAT ridiculous amount of time for our food? Um... can prove that too. That you felt this weird need after I already told you that I got your explanation to keep coming at me with your excuses? I have witnesses for that. Nothing "inaccurate" about my review. 3. I gave you that the food was delicious. It was. It was better before and I don't know what happened from that time to now, but regardless it was still delicious. HOWEVER... it was sour and mushy by the next day. My husband ate some and ended up sick from it. I wasn't going to mention that, but I guess I can now. 4. As a business owner, don't be so arrogant to think you are perfect and learn from the feedback your customers give you. As I stated, we loved the experience the first time. LOVED it... enough where we gave glowing and rave reviews of your place to friends and family and anyone that would listen. Enough that we drove all the way from San Diego up to the restaurant for dinner because it was THAT good. Take that feedback and try to figure out what went wrong and make changes to keep your restaurant successful.

Yelp
The menu has some good items. The Couscous was good, l love squash and potatoes and there was plenty. The beef Kebabs were good, very tender. The Tagine was authentic , lived in Morocco for a bit, so I have expectations. The place is small and , great place for a date. The Moroccan mint tea is very weak. They need to leave mint leaves in the tea if it wasn't instant. I will go back,

Yelp
Great food, amazing ambiance and service. Kids were amazed by the dancer. Parents enjoyed food and drinks. The staff embraced 5 kids and 4 adults enjoying a dinner together on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Wonderful food Amazing waitstaff Where have you gone!? I need information I cannot cope in this crazy world we now live in without knowing if you will reopen. Please let me know. Your loyal customers (kehmir platter and lamb shank) who sit at the table near the bar. Peace and kindness

Yelp
Casablanca offers Moroccan cuisine with a touch of Spanish and Algerian influence. The ambiance is warm and authentically Moroccan. Based on the reviews, I ordered the Kemiya platter and the Royal Couscous. All the meats were tender, juicy, and delicious, and the portions were generous. My wife ordered the Honey Lamb Tagine, which was also excellent, the meat fell off the bone, and the rice was flavorful. Everything was fresh and delicious, Highly recommended!. By the way, there is a public parking lot across PCH, and parking is free after 6 PM.

Yelp
We had a lovely evening at Casablanca which deserves all the good reviews here on Yelp! From Honey lamb to fish Tagine, the food was phenomenal, and the belly dancer was very nice. Cute ambiance. But the most memorable is the owner, who genuinely wants to offer something special and different. We'll be back!

Yelp
I made a restaurant way in advance for a party of 18 to celebrate a birthday dinner, called twice to reconfirm. When we got there, nothing was set up, the owner was almost nasty and very cold, every time I asked him about setting up the tables, he said he wants to just wait till everyone got there. I said people are coming in slowly and need a place to sit. Finally I pulled 2 tables together along the couch, and couldn't get him to do anything, the ladies were in shock at his demeanor, it was very obvious. Parking was an absolute nightmare, very hard to find in the small residential neighborhood streets on a Saturday night. I had 2 friends drive to meet us, one from Brea and other Dana Point, both left after driving around looking for parking and gave up, and went home, I felt so terrible. It was very hot in the restaurant and when I asked him to put on the fans, he said they weren't working. They kept the front door open, but we heard the traffic of all the cars racing up and down PCH, and people walking by making noise. The food was OK, and the belly dancer great, but putting up with the nasty owner, no parking and the heat in the restaurant I will not recommend this restaurant or be returning.

Yelp
Came here for a family outing as we have been looking for a Moroccan resturant to eat at for some time. First things first, this is not Moroccan food. It is the appearance of Moroccan food. Crazy enough when we entered into the resturant there was a woman belly dancing in the middle of the floor. I was not expecting this, especially with my child there with me. We had to awkwardly walk around to sit with our table. The food was very pricy, especially for the sizing. I thought the dishes were going to be big enough to share with the whole table, but that wasn't the case. Each plate was about $30 plus and didn't come with everything mentioned. We ordered fries for the kids and sadly it was a small portion at $10 dollars a plate, but it was flavorful at least. I ordered the lamb shank and was happy with the overall flavor, but they also didn't even offer bread for the table which we had to order for our dishes. It also didn't come with the rice as mentioned, and neither did anyone's come with their rice or couscous. I was also disappointed with the service. We didn't get enough cutlery for the table and had to share, even after asking nor did they provide enough plates. We also kept having missing dishes. Mine came out last and 30 minuets plus after the rest of the whole table. Thankfully my family was willing to share despite being hungry. I would not describe this as a family friendly restaurant. Do not listen to the reviews stating that. There is no children's menu. There are not many items most kids would eat. Not to mention there will be a half naked woman dancing and asking people to dance with her. She is a lovely lady and the kids had fun, however, not sure how age appropriate that is.

Yelp
I have to preface my review by saying that my father is a Moroccan Amazigh (aka Morocco's version of Native Americans in the US). Naturally Moroccan food is something I grew up with, a comfort food, and something I am a bit critical of. I've dined at many Moroccan restaurants domestically and abroad. I've left pretty much all of those restaurants feeling that the food was average. Today Casablanca became the exception. My sister booked a reservation for Mother's Day and I was looking forward to a Moroccan meal at a restaurant I hadn't heard about. My expectations weren't high due to my prior experiences and Casablanca quickly surpassed that bar and every meal exceed my highest of expectations. We ordered bastilla with chicken and almonds, a honey lamb tangine, lemon chicken tangine (one of my favorite meals), couscous with a mix of skewers, lamb sausage couscous, sea bass, Baklava, crème brulee, stuffed dates, and ice cream. It's often the attention to detail in the simplest components that typically make something special. From the texture of the couscous to the lemon chicken sauce and how the green olives absorbed the flavor was perfect. Bastilla is a very tough dish for me to like due to me preferring savory over sweet. Finding the balance of the flavors is difficult and often what is missed. Today was the first time I went back for more bastilla outside of when my aunts cooked it. The lemon chicken was incredibly flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. the Royal Couscous had various skews that were all delicious and tasted how you'd expect it to when the Moroccan aunties are getting down in the kitchen. I'm not a big lamb guy, but the lamb here wasn't gamey and fell off of the bone. The rest of the meals and desserts were equally delicious. The owner is an Algerian Amazigh and the staff was Moroccan and French. It is obvious they have a passion for what they do and truly care about their clients. My father speaks Tamazight, Arabic, and French. So he was able to speak to all the staff in their native language. The love and care they showed was wonderful and I'm sure they show this same warmth to all of their clients. I love out of a suitcase for work and get to try food in countless places. LA can spoil you, but it's often the holes in the wall that surprise you and not the trendy or more formal restaurants. Casablanca was an exception to the rule. It just became one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. Thank you to the owner, friendly staff, and chef for making it even more special for my mom on Mother's Day. P.s. my mother is a Chamorro that has cooked Moroccan food for the last 40 years and is overly critical and as mentioned before my father is Moroccan. Both her and my father left the evening singing their praises and had some left overs when we got home. Sorry this was so long, thanks for coming to my ted talk. TLDR I'm Moroccan went with my Moroccan dad and we both think it's the best Moroccan restaurant we've had in years.

Yelp
Had to return to this restaurant! Really missed the food! Everything was delicious! The honey lamb with couscous and vegetables was outstanding and flavorful!

Yelp
The cutest restaurant ever! The ambiance is amazing. Belly dancing on Saturdays is so fun! The woman was engaging and kind. Can't go wrong with any of the food-- we ate before we could take pictures! The lamb melts in your mouth, it is amazing! Service is really kind. It can be busy, but it is nice to slow down and eat out without feeling rushed. Definitely a fun place to stop!
google avatar

Yelp
Extremely slow service-literally a one man show-greets, serves, cooks, cleans. Almost fainted from hunger at a restaurant. Belly dancer was awesome!

Yelp
Time and the place for a cultural adventure is here: Moroccan and Algerian motif. We were looking for a unique place to celebrate a birthday for a special friend and our friendship through the decades. The restaurant was off of PCH, easy to miss with the camouflage outdoor building and parking on the street. But when you get in, "Here's looking at you kid!" :). Welcome to Morocco. Ordered the Algerian Kemiya Platter which we all agreed to be tasty. Our dinner entrees that followed were the Honey Lamb Tagine, Chicken Tagine, Lamb Shank, Lamb Couscous which was all scrumptious. All of us agreed that it was delicious and their portions were plenty. The service was was also worth mentioning too, everyone being very attentive to our table. After dinner, this was not baaa-aaad at all. See you next time, Casablanca.

Barbara H.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service, great ambience! Highly recommend the Honey Lamb Tagine. Everything was delicious and there is an extensive French wine list which is very well priced. Don't be concerned about Parking due to the location - plenty available in the side street.

Ross R.

Yelp
Abdul the owner is as kind and courteous as they come. There is such heart in this place and the food was stellar. I am Algerian and the food was very authentic with fresh ingredients. I highly encourage anyone looking for a peaceful and delicious dining experience to come here.
google avatar

Simon K.

Yelp
Excellent Moroccan and Algerian cuisine. Beautiful decor inside. Excellent service. The only problem is no parking! They say you can park across the street in the park. The complimentary bread is light and fluffy little sesame buns. The Savory Bastilla chicken was a nice light starter. Think of it as a chicken pot pie but not wet. It also has a slight sweetness that was pleasant. We really liked it. The Couscous Royale was also nice and light. You get to try a variety of meats, chicken skewer (dry), beef skewer (tender), and lamb merguez sausages (like thin narrow pepperoni sticks), all on top of a mound of light couscous. The entire dish is topped with caramelized vegetables. It was a pretty good dish, but this next dish was even better... The Honey Lamb Tagine was wonderful. It is a fall off the bone lamb shank with sweet cooked prunes on top. It comes with a flavorful saffron rice. The Baklawa (aka Baklava) was made from scratch and awesome. It is the wet kind. The Creme Brulee comes in either plain or coconut. Both are great. The coconut is very subtle. They are also obviously made from scratch. The coffee is nice and bold. Alright keep in mind that they don't have cream. The Liquid Light Sauvignon Blanc white wine from Washington State was great. Next time I definitely want to try the Algerian Kemiya Platter (appetizer combo platter)

Jay S.

Yelp
The food was great and absolutely delicious. The food was authentic and well prepared and seasoned to perfection . The service was very friendly which I loved. I'm definitely coming back and bringing more friends.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing, fresh food and top notch service! Beautiful location and ambiance! We will be back!

Yelp
Authentic Moroccan cuisine with a fantastic atmosphere. The decor inside is unique, making it a great choice for family gatherings and romantic dates!

Yelp
Wow. This place was very unexpected- beautiful lights and ambiance. I managed to come here for Valentine's Day and was so glad we had reservations for around 6 pm because by the time we left, the place had almost every seat full. The staff was very friendly and tried to be attentive (despite having to maneuver around the belly dancer and it obviously being very packed.) We tried the bastilla chicken, beef bourek, and honey lamb. What a mix of flavors! The beef bourek was so savory. The bastilla chicken was unexpectedly sweet but a bit dry. The lamb! Oh my- I've never had sweet meat like this, especially with rice, and liked it. The belly dancer had such a positive attitude, encouraging a little girl to learn to dance (with her mother's permission, of course!), so that was cool.
google avatar

Jacques L.

Yelp
I am a mediterranean.... the best Royal couscous i ever had. The beef was so tender soft as mashmallow. Wonderful experience. We definitively will be back.
google avatar

Dboo B.

Yelp
I have been to Marrakesh and lord is this place amazing. It reminds me of my amazing vacation in the beautiful country of Morocco. It was nice to have the taste here in my california home. We are coming again for that tagine!

Brian S.

Yelp
A truly authentic Mediterranean experience. Casablanca is a special restaurant with special, lovingly made food. The beef bourek is one of the best dishes I've ever had. The crunch, juice, and seasoning are just exquisite. The harira is a hearty and rich soup perfect for a breezy dinner by the coast. The lemon chicken is succulent and falls apart with the lightest stroke. Honey lamb comes to you straight off the bone with juicy dates and the sweet sweet sauce. I could go on and on. This place is a must try.
google avatar

Jen N.

Yelp
Definitely come on the weekends for dinner and a show! The belly dancer came on at 7pm and again around 8-8:30pm It's nice to see Moroccan/French/Algerian food concepts around here. We made a reservation and it was packed by 7pm on a Saturday night. We ordered the Lamb Tagine, Chicken Tagine, Couscous Royales, and Lamb Couscous It did take a long time for the food to come out since the kitchen mixed up the orders. The food came on a normal plate and they didn't have the traditional tagine presentation which was a little disappointing. However the honey lamb was excellent. Drinks were okay, nothing special. Ambience was great! It's a good spot to come with friends for a few hours. We had a good time.
google avatar

Adela E.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! The owner does not rush his customers out at all. Felt very welcome. Loved the belly dancing as well!

Yelp
What an incredible restaurant! My family and I absolutely LOVED our evening at Casablanca! The food was divine, every dish was absolutely fantastic!! The ambiance and staff were amazing. We were celebrating my mom's birthday tonight and Abdar, the owner made her feel so special! I truly cannot wait to go back again very soon. If you live locally or happen to be in town - I 100% recommend this restaurant!! It will not disappoint! Additionally, I highly recommend the Casablanca's Traditional Hospitality if you're hungry and have +2 or more people with you!
google avatar

Arya R.

Yelp
We were starving one night and randomly stumbled upon this place. Beautiful Moroccan decorations and really sets the scene, transporting you. Food presentation was nice and the couscous was soft and not bad. The funny thing is, we had no idea that this restaurant has belly dancing! You can imagine we were in for a shock. She did a great job though and was talented as well as good at engaging with people as we were eating. Good energy and vibes~
google avatar

L S.

Yelp
I am particularly fond of this genre of food and it wasn't anything I couldn't have done myself. Service tried, but they literally were behind the line helping to prepare the food. So, it was very slow.
google avatar

Michele J.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautiful. Very clean, perfect lighting. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. I had the lemon chicken that fell off the bone. The honey lamb my friend ordered and of course I had to try it. Wow... so good. It's a family owned business so the selection of wine was limited. There is belly dancing on the weekend, but the belly dancers get paid just with tips. Important to know to bring some cash. We had fun dancing and her teaching us a few belly dancing moves, if you want that type of fun optional. Great date, anniversary or birthday celebrations. It is pricey, but the overall experience and amazing Morocco cuisine well worth it. I'll be back there for sure.

Vicky Bombet B.

Yelp
NO Star for this restaurant! waited for more than hour you're calling them they pretend they did not see you!. We ask for water they gave a pitcher of water no glasses OMG. POOR SERVICE! Worst experience ever. Theres a hostess who is just sitting in-front her legs crossed n her phone. This definitely ruined our night. Our first lime also in this restaurant. BTW we are the third group who are seated and left the restaurant.

Ghazal N.

Yelp
The door has been closed for 15min after the opening time. We were waiting at the door and no one opened. Very bad experience
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with amazing belly dancing by Lauren. The atmosphere was great! The food is very fresh so it takes quite some time to get the food, but we were in no rush and enjoyed the dining experience. The price is a little high but the food is great!
google avatar

Yasmeen R.

Yelp
The food here is very authentic and yummy. The atmosphere transport to to Morocco and a very romantic beautiful way. I drive a round-trip over an hour just to get it. It's always worth it. And the owner and staff are very hospital.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food and a friendly server. It appears to be real Morrocan food. We will return
google avatar

Meghan M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to this family owned restaurant and the food was sooo delish. Moroccan tajine, tender chicken, and healthy couscous. The hummus could use a little sprucing up - maybe a whipped option? The people working at the restaurant are also very genuine and down to earth. We did not make it on the day they had belly dancers, sadly. We recommend this dimly-lit, romantic spot for a date, if you're looking for a change-up from the usual restaurants in Newport.
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
This place made my birthday so special! The service, ambiance and food were all great! My first time here and easily one of my top favorite restaurants! I highly suggest!
google avatar

Carly R.

Yelp
This was definitely a very unique experience! We made sure to go on Saturday, so we could see the belly dancing, which was fun and interactive. This is definitely a restaurant to go to when you want to enjoy the company you go with and the restaurant's ambiance (aka you will stay there for well over an hour or two). The food was absolutely phenomenal - make sure to get the Honey Lamb Tagine!
google avatar

Chelle L.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant! Loved the Moroccan ambiance.. everything we ordered was delicious and seasoned so well. Great service. Looking forward to coming back.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here for our anniversary and we enjoyed the harira soup, Moroccan salad, honey lamb and lemon chicken. The baklava was also very tasty. The decor was great and the staff was friendly and attentive. The only issue we had was finding parking. The restaurant does not have its own lot, so you have to find street parking. We were there at 5:30 so there were still two spots open in front of the restaurant (you have to pay for parking via a mobile app posted on the street sign if you are there before 6p-after 6p it is free). We were told the owner made arrangements with other businesses for extra parking, but we did not know where they were. Give yourself time to find parking.

Daniella D.

Yelp
One of our favorite comfort food spots. The menu is diverse and portions are big. The ambiance is super cute and romantic. It's an easy place to drive by on PCH but definitely worth stopping! At night you can park at the animal rescue since there is limited parking, even with the no parking signs. Just put their business card in your window, we've done it twice now! They also valet
google avatar

Angela Y.

Yelp
I really wish more people knew about this place. The restaurant entrance isn't on the street side and there's no obvious signs, so it's hard to find this spot unless you're specifically looking for Moroccan food. I visited on a weekday around 6-7pm. The restaurant was completely empty, which usually is a bad sign, but our experience turned out to be otherwise. We ordered the honey lamb and chicken tagine. The honey lamb was perfect. I had never tasted anything like it before. The meat is fork tender and the sauce is flavorful with the perfect amount of sweetness from the honey. I loved that there's also dried plums (or dried apricot?) and sliced almonds in the dish. The chicken tagine was good but not as "chef's kiss" as the honey lamb. It comes with green beans and no rice. However, the dishes seemed a little overpriced in my opinion. For $32 I expected the lamb dish to be a much bigger portion. The restaurant also had an odor (kinda like when a room hasn't been ventilated in a long time). Otherwise the experience would've been perfect
google avatar

Rich C.

Yelp
The lamb was only just ok, but the sauce was notably lacking in any kind of spice or flavor, as was the rice. And at this price point, they probably shouldn't be serving bagged frozen vegetable medley (wrinkly peas, inch long green beans, and cubed carrots) to feature along with the tagine. It was so recognizable that that's what it was that it actually felt insulting to have had paid $32 for the dish. How hard is it to cut up and cook fresh vegetables? Or is frozen vegetable medley something that's common to eat in Morocco? I doubt it. Bread rolls had a very good flavor of sesame and herbs, but were clearly refrigerated and then heated up. We found this out because one roll was bigger than the others and clearly hadn't been heated up all the way through and was still refrigerator cold inside. The interior really is beautiful and well done. We had been hoping for a better culinary experience for the price, but that was not to be found. And ultimately, I think that many Moroccan people would probably agree that this isn't the best representation of their country's food.
google avatar

Candice K.

Yelp
I've driven past Casablanca so many times over the years but never had the chance to come in. I finally made time this past weekend to visit for dinner. I was able to easily make reservations on Yelp for the same day. We ordered their 3 course dinner for $42 per person, which is a great deal! We were able to try a variety of items since we had 3 people in our group. Everything was delicious, portions were large, and we even had some leftover to take home. Their service was wonderful, everything came out in a timely manner, and they checked on our table several times throughout the night. I will definitely be back! Be sure to come on an empty stomach!

Tracey K.

Yelp
Lovely experience. Food was amazing and service very friendly. Ambiance was relaxing and perfect for both friends or romantic dinners.
google avatar

Brie A.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had the best experience here! The food was amazing, the service was above and beyond, and the inside is so cute and unique.

Kristine G.

Yelp
The food was very tasty and we enjoyed the belly dancer.. The owner was extremely busy as the chef was not there for New Years Eve and all the other staff worked very hard to render good service...a good time had by all
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
The parking lot and exterior looks a little sketchy but honestly a pleasant surprise. The staff was very welcoming and the service was quick. Food came out fast and hot as well. I ordered the vegetable couscous with beef brochettes and it was delicious. Couscous was fluffy and not dry. Vegetables were seasoned lightly and soft to eat. Beef was cut into good sized chunks and grilled medium. Very clean and hearty meal. I also ordered the Moroccan tea which came with brown sugar and mint. Free refills too. Definitely be warned it comes so hot the teapot handle can be too warm to hold and pour. Also ordered the creme brulee with coconut and it was exactly what you expected. Creamy with dried coconut strings in the custard. It was empty when we arrived with no reservations at 5:30 pm on a Friday night but started filling up around 7pm. Overall, fantastic staff and healthy food.

Of I could give no star I would. I wanted to like this place, the decor and the building looked amazing. When OC weekly rolled around my sister suggester we all go out for dinner and I picked Casablanca as it had the most interesting choices on the menu. Our reservation was at 7:00 for 7 people. Mu husband, myself and my sister came in early about 6:35. The hostess was nice enough to seat us down on our table while we wait for others in our party. We wanted to order drinks and my sister was really thirsty. There was a belly dancer and the ambience was really cool. After the belly dancer finished her set which about 15 minutes in, we still haven't been greeted by our server. There were about 10 tables and most looked like they haven't gotten their order. I started to look for servers, one guy was at the bar. After a couple of minutes another lady came out from the kitchen serving food. Ten more minutes passes by and it became clear there were only two servers. We watched in horror as the tables started getting filled and not everyone has drinks or eating. The rest of our party arrived and at 7:10 my sister got up to ask for water and after 5 minutes the guy from the bar came with two carafes but no glasses. He walked away, came back 5 minutes later to take our order but no glasses, we told him we wanted the OC weekly menu and he said. You know that is-less portion than our normal menu, hilarious because it's only $5 off from the normal price. Then he asks the hosts to give is the OC weekly menu, walks away and went to the other table to take their order. At that point we saw a couple left that cane after us and we decided to leave as well. This place did not deserve our business!!! Ive never been in a place where the water came 30 minutes after sitting down and only after we asked for it. Needless to say our excitement wore off and what would have been a wonderful evening turned into a nightmare.
