What a truly amazing hotel and experience.||||Stayed here in July and I was a little apprehensive as this was my first time to Prea. That instantly disappeared as soon as I arrived at Casana.||||I arrived quite late at night to a very warm welcome from the staff and a traditional Brazilian cocktail. As a I arrive late I was asked if I would like the Chef to prepare me a late meal. We were off to a great start.||||Whilst the Chef was preparing some food, I was shown to my room which was truly amazing. The quality was exceptional and throughout my stay I was still finding new gadgets to play with.||||Probably worth pointing out at this stage that I had gone to Prea to learn to kite surf and the following morning I was relaxing in my private hammock on my deck when the hotel host, Juliana came and asked if I would like to discuss my lessons and meet my instructor.||||This was a very well run operation. We went to the kite lounge and discussed the lessons with my personal instructor and start times (apart from being dependent on wind, which came every day) all things were completely flexible. This really suited me as I didn’t know how tired I would get or how well I would do.||||The first lesson began with the discussion of kit. I didn’t have my own kit and this came part of the lessons provided by the hotel. Even as a novice it was pretty obvious that the kit the hotel had was brand new and very high quality. I learned that you used different kite sizes for different wind strengths and weights and Casana seemed to have them all.||||My lesson went well but was pretty exhausting. Within the kite lounge area of the hotel, which was straight on to the beach, staff were constantly on hand to offer you drinks, water and towels etc. It was very easy to quickly become accustomed to this level of service provided.||||I headed back to my room and showered off in my private outdoor shower which was another great touch. There is also a very nice shower in the bathroom, but great to shower outdoors in private after a lesson and time in the sea.||||Next stop was the bar before dinner which had a great selection of spirits on display and a wonderful barman named Gustavo. He made some great cocktails and introduced me to a Penicillin made with scotch. He was very well versed with cocktails and happy to make what ever you wanted and not just from a menu. ||||Last stop was dinner in the very pleasant restaurant. The menu looked great and the food tasted even better. Everything was freshly made and tasted fantastic. Staff again were very accommodating and it was nice that the chef came out after my meal to ask if all was okay. We chatted for a while about the local food and the menu. It felt like he would have stayed as long as I kept talking and he was very engaging. If did eventually let him get back though.||||You really got the sense that all the staff were very happy for you to be there and very happy to help in any way they could. As a relative small hotel, 8 rooms I think it was a very personal service. Staff knew your name and were very friendly and polite, but also not in your space all the time. It was very well balanced.||||I won’t detail every day, but needless to say the stay just got better and better. The service remained exceptional throughout my stay, every meal was genuinely a delight and Gustavo continued to make great drinks.||||My kite surfing lessons continued well and by the end of my trip I was standing up which was a resounding success for me. One things for sure I will definitely be going back to this hotel and mini paradise.||||Was there anything I didn’t like? To be honest no, it was just amazing, food great, staff great and rooms were true luxury, but they could turn down the AC in the restaurant toilet. It was like an ice box in there.||||Prea is beautiful btw. Hotel arranged a 4 wheel drive UTV drive to the dunes and lagoons. Great fun driving the UTV’s and amazing views. Highly recommend whilst you’re there.
