A comeback favorite: New Haven–influenced pies baked to serious char. Food & Wine named it Idaho’s best; locals go for clam pies and textbook margheritas. Hours and occasional maintenance closures are clearly posted.

Grabbed take out, 2 large pizzas with cheese bread $84. Staff was super friendly. Pizza was amazing outside of the chicken bacon one. Very very bland. Caramelized onions were flat and not fully caramelized. Chicken was unseasoned and almost like it was canned chicken in water. Comet and 4 cheese were incredible.

My husband is a pizza junkie and I have probably hit every pizza joint downtown to grab him a slice. He wanted pizza for lunch today. I didn't want to grab him a slice that was previously made and reheated so I stopped into Casanova Pizzeria today. To get to this joint is probably easy but with all the road construction going on, it was a pain to get to today. I finally made it in and I'm happy they have designated parking for their guests. I probably would have left if there wasn't parking. They do have two points of entry, one for dine in and take out. Made my way in and saw how pretty this venue is. I love the big windows and the brightness of the place. It's very spacious with very pretty light fixtures. There was a menu at the register and checked it out while I waited for someone to help me. To be honest, I waited for a hot minute there. It wasn't till another guest that had a pick up order that showed up when the waitress greeted me. I ordered a small pizza with half marinara and half Alfredo sauce with extra cheese for my husband. I was told 20 minutes would be the wait time so I made my way to the gas station across the street real quick to kill some. Made my way back and hung out for about 10 minutes. My pizza was ready in a pretty white box stamped Casanova on it. I looked at it to make sure it was all good and made my way to my husband. The pizza was pipping hot! The crust was golden with some char spots on it. The cheese was beautifully melted in the middle. It was a beautiful pie. I had a small slice cause why wouldn't I? The cheese had a great cheese pull. The slice was thin nad had a nice layer of sauce. The mix of the sauces were perfect! The crust was crusty on the outside but soft and airy in the middle. What I appreciated the most about this pizza is that there wasn't a huge crust to it. You got pieces with minimal crust so you're getting to enjoy all the goodness of the sauce and cheese. This joint is legit good. It's not the cheapest pizza but you are definitely getting your money's worth. I don't know when we will be back but if it's soon it will definitely be a date night spot for us. I look forward to eating another pie and trying one of their salads.

Google
Perfection in a pizza. I’m not a veggie guy but this was my favorite out of the 4 we got. The veggie pizza was for me was amazing. I am writing this review the day after having it and I’m still thinking about it...it was the bomb. Surprisingly explosive flavors from the toppings, balance in flavors from the zucchini and eggplants and garlic, crust and bottom was nice and crisp, so impressive for pizza with those many toppings.

Google
Fantastic New York pizza right here in Boise. It’s delicious. Salads also excellent. What kind of pizza is it? Watch John Travolta in the opening sequence of Saturday Night Fever (which is freely available on YouTube). That great New York pizza he’s eating? Incredibly, you can now eat that right here in Boise. Good beer selection, too.

The waitress was super friendly and accommodating. We had a gluten free pizza that was probably the best gluten free pizza I have had. The crust is handmade in the pizzeria. The handmade lemonade was delightful and very satisfying.

I won BINGO!!!! Pizza - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unexpectedly walked in on their “pilot” bingo night. Won 20% off a meal item and just refreshing to be a friendly, community feeling atmosphere. And a glass under wine under $8!!!

If you're visiting Boise, or live here already, make a trip to Casanova Pizzeria, WOW! The food is nothing less than excellent. We had a variety of items (Pizza, Sandwich, and Salad) and they were all amazing. We'll be back!

We walked in about 8pm for our first time. We were greeted and seated by a very nice lady, turns out her shift had ended but she was great and very helpful. She brought us 2 very cold drafts and turned us over to Justin who was extremely kind. There were several families and it appeared they were all getting the same great attention. Not a frown in the place. We ordered our pizza to go and since we still had part of our beverages they kept the box in the oven to stay hot. Justin had a minute and joined us at our table and a lady (I think the owner) was checking on all of the tables and very engaged with the patrons. She shared the drawings of their patio concepts and it will truly be a destination for us in the future. When it came time for us to go, we had a few bites of our fresh Garlic Chicken pizza. Large fresh garlic cloves, generous amounts of chicken, cheese and the crust was perfect. A creamy garlic sauce on the side for dipping was just right. We highly recommend Casanova Pizzeria and the top tier crew!!! Thank you for making our night! Eileen Neville and Dennis Bell

Yelp
Come Hungry & Leave Happy! Really impressed with this place! The restaurant has a fun atmosphere with great views, and the layout is well thought out--takeout has a separate entrance, so you don't have to weave through diners if you're just picking up food. 100% 5 service all round from the servers, to cooks, and take out! My wife and I shared a salad, and it was massive--we were still eating it the next day! The pizzas are great too, and we loved that you can split the pies, even with different sauce bases. We couldn't decide, so we went half red sauce, half olive sauce, and it was perfect. Also, big plus that a lot of their wines are from Italy! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I had to go back and try again. I did take out and the person on the phone was polite and even checked with the kitchen to see wait time The dough was spot on. Light, airy , crispy. The best crust. Pepperoni was delicious. Sauce was also good as well. I will go back I just haven't worked up to trying the sausage again

Yelp
When we visited here last weekend, my wife realized this was reincarnated from its days on Vosta Ave! We stopped in around 2 PM for a late lunch early dinner thing. The only odd thing is the parking. Limited on the street but you can park in the parking lot at the end of the building. That said, the pizza is amazing. We had the Mondo with added Jalapeño and fresh basil. Not a crumb was left. Crust was perfection. Having travelled to Italy last year, we loved the amount of Italian wines they offered. Service was excellent. Eva was a blast to talk to and she had such a great personality. This alone will be reasons we will return when we are near the Boise area. Oh, and the artwork you can see at the top of my picture was done by her. Didn't know that when photo was taken. Glad we now know this place is back in operation. You will love the food!

Yelp
First the staff was amazing. Justin is so personable and easy to have a great conversation! We met the owner who was friendly and just a pleasure to meet. The food was fantastic! We will be going back many more times I'm sure. Try it you won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Visited on Saturday afternoon. Not busy at all. The pizza was meh, for the price especially. The toppings almost seemed to have been steamed and placed on top. Won't go back. Too many other great pizza joints around.
google avatar

Kristi G.

Yelp
The pizza was delicious and they offer many different pizza options. We tried the clam bacon and chicken garlic. The chicken garlic was a bit soupy but that's most likely the Alfredo sauce. Once it cooled down, it was much easier to eat.

Yelp
We wanted to try this place out based on reviews we had saw. The Caesar salad portion was a good size and cheese bread was tasty. The pizza was just ok. The second Pizza had burnt crust as you can see in the pic. What was Really lacking was the service. They need More than one waiter. Took forever to order and forever to pay.
google avatar

Yelp
Love that you can order half and half pies! The crust was perfect thickness, our order was correct, and fast. Would definitely go back. Note: limited parking.

Yelp
Super quaint joint. Everything is handmade from the lemonade to the rootbeer and the pizza. Pizza crust was crispy w the right amount of dough. The veggie sandwich was absolutely Devine. Loved this meal!

Yelp
This is one of my top two pizza places on earth. The other one is in the Berkshire mountains in Massachusetts. And I'm from Chicago where there a lot of good choices. I had the lunch size pizza today and the crust was perfect as was the fresh mozzarella and basil. Unfortunately the fresh tomato sauce was a bit too tart which I am sure is because they must have gotten a bad batch of canned tomatoes from their supplier or they didn't add enough sugar to make the sauce. Whatever the reason I'm sure it will be perfect next time I am back in Boise. Service was courteous and attentive, the dining room and tables were clean, and it was a pleasant lunch. It's still the best place for pizza in Boise.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing! The toppings are so fresh and delicious! The crust is the perfect combo of crunchy and chewy, it's hard to describe, you have to try it for yourself! It's the only New Haven style pizza in the valley! You have to check it out!

Yelp
My brother recommended this place, and it didn't disappoint. We each ordered individual pizzas, which are 12inches, larger than i expected. The thin artisan crust was very good, and you can get it your way. The antipasto salads was amazing in itself. Whatever the dressing is used very tasty. Our server, shy, provided great service, and a lovely person. We had a question about a wine, and the owner came out, very personable, answered our questions. The spanish wine was good too, and complimented the tastes of the pizzas. the restaurant is in a mixed use building in an urban environment. it definitely has that local neighborhood feel to it.

Yelp
Second time coming here. It was extremely busy and we had to wait a while for our food and yet it was still such a great experience. Situations like that can really take a toll on waiters/waitresses. I don't remember their names but both ladies were doing such a great job of attending to everyone and also keeping a great attitude. The pizza was amazing to top it all off. If I could give more stars I would. Anyone looking for great pizza and beer with a cool environment this is your spot.

Yelp
Best pizza in Boise. Let me say this again. Best. In. Boise. My family became fans of Casanova back when they spent nearly a decade in a Vista Ave. building. Then, they were forced to leave and spent years looking for a new home. We'd almost given up hope of their return. Now they reside in the Adare building near north end. Only the location has changed. Their excellent food remains the same. I haven't had a pizza I don't like here. My go to is the Don Ho. It's ham, smoked mozzarella, pineapple and black olives. Puts a typical Hawaiian pizza to shame. Like garlic? Go for The Comet. Tasty bread? Pagniotelli. And the house-made Tiramisu is amazing. Service is super friendly. They know their patrons and welcome with smiles and kindness. The ambiance is chill but colorful. Hand painted murals line the bar. It's open and airy. Windows bring in good light. Try it on a date or for the decently priced lunch special of pizza, salad and a soft drink-$12. If the family wants pizza, it's Casanova all the way.

Yelp
Eat here all the time such a great place make sure you check your pizza before you go to make sure it's the right one have ran into a couple mistakes lately, but still 10 out of 10 on quality

Yelp
I walked in for my pickup order and it smelled so good! Staff were super friendly, multiple people helped me. I ordered a simple cheese pizza (double cut) and their antipasto salad. I ordered for two adults and college students. Everyone ate multiple slices of the thin, flavorful pizza. Great thin, crispy crust. The salad was huge, crispy, and delicious. They threw in an extra salad dressing (you will likely need more dressing than the small one they provided). They also provided plates, forks, napkins, red peppers, and parmesan cheese. Wish I took photos! Also, there is street parking to dine in or take out, with a few spots for pick up parking.

Yelp
This place has some good pizza. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. Their signature pizzas offer some awesome flavor combinations. I've only done takeout but the folks are always friendly there. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. Pizza is a bit spendy.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time. Actually did an order to go. Definitely not a cheap place. I got a small pizza with half of one of their signature pies and the other custom, chicken parm sandwich no chips, and tiramisu. Cost almost $60. Their toppings to make a custom pie are like $2+ a topping. Even on a small. Go for a large if you want to do a custom. So, I did an order and put it in the person's name that was going to pick it up. First and last name. He went there. Got it. Came back and asked why did I order so many pizzas. I said I didn't. Only one, a sandwich, and tiramisu. We finally look at it and it is three pizzas. Not even ours. When he had gone up they only asked for his first name. Had him look at the pies, ask if they look good. I had to call and say we got the wrong one. The girl put me on the phone with the manager because she didn't know if they could remake my order. On the phone with the boss and the conversation was rough. Ne asked how he could help me. I said did she tell you what happened. Then a long pause. He said yea. It was just a very strained conversation. He should have just said hey we are sorry please come back and we will remake your whole order. And for your trouble gets a little something extra. I live in south east boise and it wasn't a quick drive. There was another person with the same first name that put an order in. They should have asked for a last name since all the information was given. All of this could have been avoided. We get the pizza. Really good!! Half of it was Medusa. Super weird toppings. Figs, a string cheese, pineapple. Other half was pepperoni (I think they forgot to put it on), ricotta (like a huge table spoon on each slice), Kalamata olives, and red peppers. Super yummy. The slice itself had no structure. Very floppy. Still good. The chicken parm was just mediocre. The tiramisu was really good. I'd probably try this place one more time. Dine in.

Yelp
Just when you think it can't get any better, you find out they offer Rogue Root Beer on tap! Perfect. And more good news is for people who can't eat gluten, they have GF small size pizza - all off their topping options - for $3.50 upcharge. I was pushed into the "NO gluten for YOU club", one no one wants to have to join, last Fall so this is good news for others in that same "club". In the meantime, great pizza and service but still a tricky location for parking. I wish they were closer to my house and with better parking and I would be there weekly. But, as they say, you can't always get what you want. For other details about Casanova, see my previous review.

Amanda S.

Yelp
One of my standard go-to favorites. Great pizza every time. Topping combos are innovative, unique, and good quality ingredients. Caesar salad is amazing with the most flavorful and addicting dressing. Only downside is that the atmosphere is really casual and very limited seating. Not a place to bring guests to wow them with the great pizza, as it is pretty underwhelming dining experience and not in the greatest part of town. But the food speaks for itself. Great local place for a weeknight yummy pizza meal.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Service was good and salads were GREAT... pizza was just meh. It just didn't have a lot of flavor. We got four different kinds, and everybody felt the same way, the pizza was just bland. They were cooked pretty well, (not burned) although the bottom got soft and a bit soggy. I prefer a crispy crust, so that probably contributed to my dislike, because the crust is everything for me on pizza. The place is super cute. The service was good, and again the salads were fantastic. I would definitely go back for salads... But personally, I think there's better pizza in Boise.

Yelp
The 5 parking spots spanning the entire width of their space day pickup only 15 min parking which brings up two questions: 1) Do you really need FIVE pickup spots if someone is going to be there all of 10 minutes or less? 2) Where the F are your lowly dine in pukes supposed to park? Upon entering there's no sign that says "Be seated", "Wait to be seated", "Order at the counter" but after waiting for 10 minutes, I was looking for the sign that says "Piss off, we have enough customers". Then I see a human who seems to notice me but he walks right by me without acknowledging me . Was that the pizza Nazi? So after looking at the menu online for a few minutes, I figure maybe I'm supposed to order at the take out counter like a bar in Europe. I stand there for several moments and t guy that walked passed me appears behind the counter and blurts "They're really busy... I'm not working right now but..." I forget rest because I was thinking how about just telling someone I'm here or tell how I order, Einstein. Then someone who apparently IS working and not just hanging around to tell people he's NOT working appears and tries to hand me a menu that I've had plenty of time to look at by now But wait, the pizza comes and it's outstanding. Maybe those parking spots do fill up and I should shut my "pie hole." Too bad there's not a Radio Shack around or I'd go buy them a door announcer.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for lunch about a year ago and really enjoyed the food. Today we tried it again and were very disappointed. Our pizza order was wrong, but we were willing to overlook that. What was a total turn off was our pizza was completely black on the bottom and mostly burned on top. We picked through it and ate the toppings. When our server asked how it was, we stated it was burned. She said next time order it "light crust". It's been my experience that you shouldn't have to explicitly request your food not be charred. The rest of the dining experience was good. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. Our salads were pretty good also. To her credit, as we were checking out she reduced the price of the pizza by 50%. I almost gave this a 3 star rating since the experience was mostly good, however the pizza was the main event and it was a disaster.

Yelp
Excellent pie - great crust, fresh and flavorful sauce and tasty pepperoni that do that trendy curl thing. Between this and Americana, I've got two world class pizza makers within minutes of my front door.

Yelp
This was our first meal in Boise, started our trip off right! It was almost completely empty when we came and I think it's under apartments? So I didn't fully expect that haha. But it was cute! My husband and I ordered cheese bread, said whoa that's way too much and then proceeded to annihilate every piece of bread. It was perfectly fluffy and garlicky. My husband and I also shared a margherita pizza with half no basil. It was served fresh out of the oven! Loved the crust, it didn't get too soggy. The sauce was amazing too, flavorful without being overpowering. We had leftovers too and brought them to the air bnb to snack on! Delicious! Good customer service too

Dean B.

Yelp
The best pizza crust I've had in Treasure Valley! Nice and clean establishment and very friendly!

Murph Mama L.

Yelp
We grabbed pizza on a Friday night from Casanova Pizza. Because we have kids, we took it back to our place. We ordered a half cheese, half pepperoni and it was great! The seasoning was great, and it added an additional flavor. The pepperoni was huge and crispy on the ends. We wish we would have been able to order their fun pizzas and eat it there for the freshness, but overall it was great.

Yelp
I've waited six long years to taste the capicola piled onto a margherita pizza. The landlord at Casanova's former location on Vista Avenue thought anyone could make a decent pizza and refused to extend Dan Guild's lease. And then he had the chutzpah to open his own place, which was lousy and didn't last long. Sadly, it took Dan years before he could find a space to reopen his restaurant, now at the Adare Manor apartments. I called when they opened on a Tuesday (currently closed on Mondays) and ordered a pizza to go. I got there 20 minutes after I called and it was ready. There were three other people waiting for takeout orders and a couple seated at a table. All before 11:30 a.m. So I wasn't the only only eagerly waiting their return. The pizza is just as good as I remember it. And it's the only place I've found in Boise with capicola, the spicy Italian ham immortalized by the Sopranos as gabba-gool. I discovered it at a pizza joint in Eugene in the late 1970s and my pizza-eating was never the same again. Casanova's 700-degree oven cooks a pizza in no time and gives it the blistered crust that great pizzas are known for. And they don't overload their pizzas with toppings. If you want that, there's plenty of other pizzerias for you. Here, there's the perfect amount of sauce, meat, basil and blobs of mozzarella, so you can taste what's in there. I like that they have separate entrances for dine-in and take-out service. That should make things easier on the staff and customers alike. Welcome back, Casanova. It's like an old friend moved into the neighborhood!

Teresa R.

Yelp
Delicious pizza with unique flavor combinations. We got the lunch special which was a great value and was a hearty salad.

Yelp
We ordered a couple pizzas at lunch. They both were excellent, dough is light, sauce is great. The owners are friendly and great service. We will definitely be back.

David S.

Yelp
First time going there tonight. Ordered a 12 inch Mondo which is tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and green peppers. Just under $20 before tax. Wow what a great pizza. Lots and lots of Fresh toppings. The sauce was excellent and the crust was cooked perfectly and fluffy and soft. I have eaten a lot of pizza and this is among the Best. The young lady who helped me Aly was excellent. She was prompt and respectful and she seemed concerned about the customers. Refreshing to see a young person who likes the Job and understands customer service. The salads look good and several craft brews on tap I'll have to eat there a try a beer or two. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

Yelp
My family and I have eaten a lot of different pizza over the years, but this place is our favorite and delivers every time. We used to go to the old location on Vista and waited 6 years for them to re-open. Man it was worth it. The new spot is new and a lot of the custom interior was done by the family that runs it. We've been there 3 times and I figured it was time to put a review out there. They have a lot of cool specialty pizzas on their menu, and they use very high quality ingredients. We had a Clams Casino last night, and it was superb. The crust is just right thickness and we like the cheese browned, so we get our pies well done. This place is quality through and through. The Caesar salads were excellent. Homemade dressings and anchovies on request. It is the best pizza in town. These guys care about quality and it shows. Thank you Casanovas for a great night.

Yelp
I love this place! You've got to like this style of pizza in order to know how good it is though.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
Friendly staff and incredible location. Would absolutely return. Also if you go, you have to get the homemade tiramisu

Lori L.

Yelp
Best pizza I've had in a long time. The crust was flavorful and perfectly crispy. The only issue is parking in the area is practically nonexistent

Teresa A.

Yelp
Our new favorite restaurant. We have actually eaten here several times over the last two years, and it was excellent then as it is now. We have just really come to appreciate the relaxed, friendly, atmosphere. The best pizza I have had outside of New York, and the antipasto salad is fantastic.

Paula B.

Yelp
Our favorite pizza in Boise. Great salads too. Awesome service and a good selection of draft beer and wine. Try the tiramisu for dessert; it's worth saving room for.
google avatar

Kathi B.

Yelp
We ordered a pizza and salad to go, the pizza was mediocre, they also put the dressing on the salad which made it soggy by the time we ate it. We were told in future we should request the dressing on the side for our to go order. Unfortunately there won't be a next time.

Yelp
Drove by and saw the sign. I decided to check it out. Glad I did! They are getting things going so I didn't know I had to order at the counter when I walked into the dine-in side, but a couple already sitting inside came over to the table I sat at and told me. At the order counter, I couldn't help but become memorized by the fabulous pizzas they were pumping out in the ready-window. They looked incredible. It was hard to decide which one to get, as I kept asking the attendant "what's that they just put out"! Eventually ordered and then waited for the goody pie to arrive. Great taste and great toppings! Thanks for the experience! I'll be back.!!! (Probably every other day)
google avatar

Yelp
Our return trip the very next day way surpassed our already heightened (from previous night) expectations. I'm a 40 year restaurant guy. You really should give this place a try. Oh, I ate (among other things) the vegetable sandwich. Yum yum! I had to take over half of it home, but it sure made a great breakfast. And I only had a microwave to heat it with. I kept imagining how even more awesome it would have been had I a good ol toaster oven.

T O.

Yelp
Incredible! We got a Caesar salad and margarita pizza. I've been searching for a margarita pizza that's worth getting again and I've for sure found it! ( also their homemade croutons are to die for) The staff is so welcoming and kind which made the experience even more enjoyable. I hope they continue to have amazing success!
google avatar

Yelp
We decided to try a new neighborhood pizza place...gotta say it is solid. The ingredients are simple yet flavorful, well made, and the staff is friendly. Know that they do not have table service right now. Order at the take out counter and drinks at the bar. The pizza is brought to your table in a pizza box. We will be back.
google avatar

Ron G.

Yelp
I don't know what it is it makes the crust so good, but it is some of the best crust I've ever tasted in my life. When you've tried other pizza places in Idaho I need to try this. This one is the best sauce and the best crust in the treasure valley bar, none I brought some of my real Italian friends from Italy here I brought a lot of my friends from different places. They all agree, the best pizza in the treasure valley!

Dennis B.

Yelp
Got a chance to try this place. Very friendly atmosphere and nice people. Food was delicious. Crafty pizzas and interesting varieties, good taste combinations. Real pizza.

Yelp
Hidden gem. It's located off the beaten path but well worth it. Beautiful decor in a cozy restaurant. The staff and owners are fantastic. The food is amazing. We ordered the cheese breadsticks that comes with marinara. Very tasty and has the perfect amount of cheese and garlic. The antipasto salad was a great surprise. It could feed 4 people. It has a lot of everything and excellent taste. We also got some wine the Bitner and Riff both white. The Bitner was very flavorful. We ordered the Louis Prima Suprima extra done. It had a perfect tiger spotting on the bottom. There was plenty of quality toppings. Definitely will be returning soon to try other things on the menu. If you like New Haven style pizza this is the only place in all of Idaho to go.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and the food! The pizza is killer and the ingredients are fresh. My wife and I try and go as often as we can. Joel, Daniel, and Karen are fantastic and always make us feel welcome. We love going here! If you like tiramasu, it's amazing!

Yelp
The gluten free crust tasted really good. It was soft and fluffy, not like some of the others that are like cardboard. They make it in house. I'm not sure if cross contamination is an issue, I'm not sensitive enough to notice.

Yelp
Oh yes when I think of Casanova Pizzeria I think of delicious mouth watering pizza. I order the Comet and it satisfies. The Pagniotielli (puff bread) is also delicious.
