What an amazing hotel! I feel so lucky to have stumbled on to Casa Zinc, and I cannot compliment it enough. First, the hospitality of the staff was so kind and so sweet. Second, the decor is very chic, and clearly the owners have an eye and talent for refurbishing antiques. Stunning. The breakfast was perfect : fresh OJ, coffee, yogurt, toasts, medialunas, eggs. Location of the actual hotel is a bit off the path, so best if you have a rental car. However, it is located in La Barra, which is a super chill surf town in between Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio. A nice alternative to the party scene of Punta. After all of the above, did I mention the price? A steal! I would have paid 2x the rate and still be impressed.

La Barra is a beautiful place to stay for holiday, especially for those who don't like Punta del Este with its large hotels and skyscrapers. Here you may find wonderful beaches and choose windy ones (playa brava) or calm (playa calma) nearby. Despite the fact that LaBarra was in the past a fishing village, now it's a very expensive area. ||We chose Casa Zinc for the light we saw in photos and descriptions: a charming sunny light running through the rooms through the huge vintage windows characterizing the posada. We found it, together with a peaceful calm that there was anywhere. All you can see in photos is real true.||Staff are capable and very professional - able to give great advice on where to go, what to visit, where to eat. Trust them. Estefany is a very professional young woman, serious, determined, but always gracious.||Rooms are furnished with antiques, vintage tables, chairs, sofas, books, globes, bathtubes. A real shabby chic furniture. Beautiful semicircle windows. Light everywhere, everytime. Sometimes the cleaning isn't perfect, but this also depends on the fact that the powder and the webs create more easily if the furniture is antique or old; you may have some problems if you are allergic to dust. Moreover, if it is great to have antique desk in the room, though it would have been nice to have a closet to hang clothes too.||Breakfast is served until 4pm and is very rich and well cared for; unfortunately there is not a restaurant indside.||There is a wonderful private courtyard where children can chase each other freely or you can sunbathe or read a book.

We loved this place so much we stayed for 1 night and then came back for another two on the tail end of our trip. This place is incredibly charming, with great staff, delicious breakfast, and a warm ambience. The owner was very welcoming and quick to offer any advice and trade travel stories. It was a perfect quiet haven outside the usual hustle bustle of Punte del Este and downtown La Barra.

We have really loved our 4 night stay in Casa Zinc. We were given an upgrade, and loved the Architect and the Design Studios: the windows and the furniture were perfect. The breakfasts were also very good, in a lovely, atmospheric room, with fresh orange juice and croissants. Victoria and Estefany took very good care of us, including when we got lost driving in the countryside! We would improve only two things: the mattresses were a bit thin, and the bread could be better - but we would definitely go back, it's a very special place!

Casa Zinc has a very cool and unique vibe. Super comfy beds and beautiful crisp linen and towels. Staff were very helpful but not intrusive. They get it just right for a laid back and comfy stay in well curated and decorated rooms. Would definitely return for a stay.

So eclectic! Rooms are so well done, beautiful courtyard to chill in and read or hang out. Everything feels so authentic here. Original. Plus the entry and location are nondescript.....you literally enter through giant barn doors off a back street

This quaint hotel has comfortable, spacious rooms with luscious towels & bathrobes to prepare you for an amazing shower or a soak in the claw-footed tub. A homemade breakfast awaits you complete with fresh-squeezed OJ, warm croissants & yummy yogurt prepared by the nicest, most accommodating staff. A true oasis.

Quirky, funky, magical. Not your usual place to stay. It's like you stepped back in time to someones family compound. Breakfasts were great, fruit, yoghurt, toast, eggs, juice, cheese and ham. I would highly recommend renting a car. We did not but it worked out ok with taxis.
