A Devastating Year of Closures Has Left Portland in the Midst of a Barmageddon | Eater Portland

We sat at the bar on a Friday evening. It was a little busy but not too bad. There are a ton of beers on tap to choose from, and the selection was good. They didn’t have their air conditioning on so it was a little sticky in there and not super comfortable so we only stayed for one drink. Service was quick and the prices were good.

Google
Exceptional Service, Great Selections, visited from Florence SC ...WILL definitely return for NASCAR Race as I mentioned to staff. Charity and Lodi recommended this place, met them elsewhere... Thanks for listening to the Carolina Cherokee Chatterbox guys! See y'all later.

Google
Love this place! Great service and great beer selection. Travel from Richmond, VA to enjoy this place. They often have music too.

Google
I live craft beer and just beer in general really and this is one of the best places in Bristol for a good craft beer! They have a huge selection on draft with over 40 taps all from craft breweries around the country lots from East Tennessee, SW Virginia, and NW North Carolina! This place also has a great atmosphere that’s clean and exiting with live music all the time and outdoor seating for the warmer months. One of the best places of State Street for draft beer!

Google
This place is family owned and as such it is a great little place to grab a few drinks. They have products from all across the United States and the selection rotates daily - weekly depending on product availability- per the bartenders. They have an outdoor overflow area and have local singers most of the time. They are dog friendly so be ready to hand out those pets to the puppies! The bartenders are patient and willing to explain what your getting with reasonable prices. We’ve been coming here for a while and love it! We have a weekly schedule that includes visiting this draft house. If you’re in need of some wholesome entertainment this is the place to be! Edit- they also quite often on weekends have a food truck out back!

Google
40+ beers on tap. Always something new to try. Great rotating selection. Cool, shotgun shack style brewpub. Consistently good, likeable staff. Very dog friendly place. We really like it there. Some outside seating out back though the view is of a bank drive thru, the Greyhound bus stop, and the rapidly deteriorating building next door - not a criticism; just an observation. Small stage for live music. No kitchen but there's a food truck once in awhile.

My favorite beer joint in the world. Great local music, fantastic staff and phenomenal craft beer.

Google
Awesome spot to visit and the beer is reasonably priced and the selection is great; really a cool little spot to have a couple beers.

Yelp
Conveniently located across the street from the Sessions hotel, and open every day of the week, this drafthouse specializes in local beers. They are Untapped, making it easy to check ahead of time what is available. Beers are available in 3 sizes of pours, and grouped on the menu by style.

Yelp
Went in there looking for tasty coors lights and a bite to eat. Dude said "we dont have food and we don't serve water." Left hungry and and with no water in my tummy. Update: Heard some talk about the m&m's thought I'd offer my two cents. I didn't have any, but they're probably pretty good.

Cameron W.

Yelp
"We don't have any domestic stuff and no water on tap so don't ask for bud light" I wanted a bud light. No food, just a vending machine that only took cash. Goldfish wasn't too good. M&Ms looked ok. Update: went there again an the M&Ms sucked

Mike S.

Yelp
Beer was horrible. Mnm's honestly pretty good. The Mnm's are the only thing worth going in for. I like Mnm's. They're pretty good. I like all of the Mnm's in the bar

Yelp
Great place to stop for a drink or two while you're in Bristol. They have like 30 or 40 beers on tap and the selection rotates. I enjoyed the atmosphere which was pretty laid back. Prices were also very good with $6 for a pint being the most common. They take care of you and serve you promptly, which I also appreciated. I hope I can go back sometime soon. It's a breath of fresh air.

Yelp
One of the best draft beer lists we've ever seen! They are a verified Untapped member so you can see the 40 beers that are available before you arrive along with prices for 5ounce, full size pours (10 or 16 ounce) and growler prices. Friendly service and customers, too! Don't miss this place is you love beer!

Yelp
I really like and simultaneously hate the constantly changing beers. If you find something you like it might make it a day, week, or who knows. The "beer-tenders" here are normally well versed in what's on tap. I have had a few that take it a personal challenge to find you something you like or get you out of your comfort zone. They only have bar snacks and sometimes a food truck. They constantly have live music.

Yelp
Bartender was awesome -- friendly and knowledgeable! The beer selection was huge and had something for everyone!

Yelp
Spence has a huge selection of IPA's here at Cascade. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pretty chill. Great place to hang out downtown. If you're in Bristol and are an IPA fan this should definitely be your first stop!

Yelp
Great rotating variety of local and non-local beer on tap. Live music many nights. Bartender / owner is so friendly. Love the local artwork on the walls for sale. Awesome way to support local artists. We're new to Bristol and this quickly became a comfortable local pub to hang out and listen to music.

Richard P.

Yelp
Great selection of beer. Friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out of you are in Bristol. I like porters and brown ales; they had several to choose from.

Emily G.

Yelp
Lots of beer to choose from...and lots of odd choices at that. Love the variety. Location is not as convenient as most others in downtown Bristol, but is still walkable if you've parked anywhere on the west end of the center point of downtown. Very narrow interior makes it feel a bit confined when there's a crowd. The bar is set up in a way where you really can't have a private conversation if sitting there. However, if you are alone and just want to chat at the bartender, this would be ideal for that, I guess. I have mixed feelings about the bright "led" look on the inside. While it gives the place a modern, clean ambiance, it's not what I expect from a beer place...feels cold and sterile. Even Barley Waters has soft lighting. Give them credit for having live entertainment. Of course it's too small to have a true band (right?) but they've carved out a little cubby area for, say acoustic performer in the very back corner. Unfortunately you can't watch the performer unless you have one of the two or three tables at the back, but you can hear it throughout.

Yelp
Infinite! Long and narrow with hotdogs cooking outside at the end this bar rotates their selection of beers. When my brother and I stopped there we were taking aback by the selection of 40 beers. They had ales, porters, a variety of stouts and lagers. The sizes were surprising to me. For two dollars you could get a 5 ounce beer, five dollars gave you a 16 ounce and six dollars you would get a Crowler which is a 12 ounce can of beer that he pours and then uses a device to put the top on that you can take home. I started with the Dunkel which is really full-bodied. Then of course I had to try the Marzen. Great flavor. I finally ended with the peanut butter chocolate milk stout what should fit perfectly with my peanut butter bars that I make. When I came back from the restroom I found my brother had ordered me a six pack of the peanut butter chocolate milk stout. Wonderful! They rotate your selection of beers every so often and choosing only the best. My brother had a Kentucky bourbon peppermint Porter and I was surprised that it tasted quite good. You have to stop in.

Yelp
Awesome place to come for a significant option of beer choices at great prices. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is an awesome selection of live music on multiple nights of the week or just a place to unwind at other times of the day.
