Cascade Jerk

A $7 order of old fried shrimp. The shrimp were hard and rubbery. Had to be fried twice. I ate one and stopped. I actually wanted to take 5 back and get a refund but my boyfriend be hungry and didn't want to drive after getting settled at home [my house is literally a 5 minute drive from the store]. I never seem to be able to get fresh food from this restaurant so I avoid it like the plague. My boyfriend wanted a quick bite after church. 2 beef patties and 7 shrimp were $16.

The service is really bad the lady behind the counter always has a attitude & looks angry the young guy is cool but that’s about it & the food is mid at best i wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone honestly & i gave multiple chances cus they close to me but i feel like i waste my money every time

Down to earth Caribbean food found. Food is so delicious and fresh. Oxtail, curry goat,shrimp and fish so many options. Highly recommend Rasta Pasta that is so creamy and the portions are great for the price. You probably need wait a bit in lunch time because they are so popular. Service is superb and so accommodating. I will look for their delivery for my everyday meal too.

Love the fry chicken and the rice and peas bust thing on the menus with oxtail gravy. I used to get soup here for a while now but, lately food flavoring has been hot n cold. I don’t know maybe they got a new chef…but overall the amount of times I’ve eating from this spot I wasn’t rarely disappointed. Definitely would recommend the fry chicken though my boyfriend loves it.

Food is tasty but it’s very little. This is what I got for a large which is $14+ when u take out the few pieces of chicken which makes it look a lot. For the price, they need to give more rice.

The food is delicious! Unfortunately, finding authentic Jamaican cuisine is not easy. This places is definetly a go to when you want good Jamaican food. I purchased the curry chicken with provision and "naily bite off mi finga". Lol..

I heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to give them a try anyway, they are very hit or miss. I really like there beef patties. The oxtails had good flavor however some pieces were to fatty one time I ordered and my plate was dry oxtails was dry no gravy on it or my rice & peas . But the other times it was good. I did also have the shrimp Rasta pasta & an oxtail Rasta pasta, both we're good however way to spicy for my liking couldn't really dig into it the way I wanted to. But I would definetly eat there again.

The food taste fine, good exactly but the portions are so small it's absurd. I used to order from here a lot but the portions have gotten smaller overtime while the price has increased. Not right.

Had the mini jerk chicken Then the next day had the curry chicken Both really tasty, will be back.

The food is delicious! That oxtail and pasta combo is top tier! The service is good. Unfortunately this is not a sit down restaurant so there is much of an ambiance. Still check them out!

Someone recommended the Rasta pasta here. I decided not to get the Rasta pasta but instead got a medium jerk chicken dinner which was $12. To me that's a good priced meal. The portion size was good as I didn't even finish it. The jerk chicken was not dry and had a nice little kick to it, however it wasn't amazing. I also got a beef patty with coco bread. The bread was soft and fresh. The patty was hard, burnt and dried out so I threw that in the garbage.

They never have any of the food that they advertise online available at the actual restaurant.. waste of time

Very stingy with the food specially the oxtails. Even offered sever to pay extra for a few pieces and she wanted to charge me for a whole new meal. Won't go back

Food is great Service depends but whatever as long as my food is fresh and tasty. Take out place so ambience is meh.

i asked for a small, and then realized how small it was and instead asked for a medium. The difference between the small and medium is one more piece of curry. Which she had a whole attitude about. Then with roti on the side, this came up to $18. Not worth $18, it's cheaper on uber eats as it comes up to 15.75. (uber eats menu prices are usually more )Walked in the rain, soaked for disappointment and very salty food.

Quick and convenient as it's right in the area. I usually get the pasta with sweet chili shrimp and it's delicious every time. The barbi-fried wing & jerk chicken are tasty as well. Oxtail taste good but not enough oxtail for the price.

Delivery | Dinner | $20-30 Terrible customer service. They only gave me rice as my meal then when they said they would fix the problem, the chef refused to make my order. Waited 2 hours for just rice & peas when I ordered pasta, wings, ting etc. This was the only meal from them that was edible for me, now I will no longer be ordering from them anymore. Even the DoorDash rep was appalled at the fact they made me drive over there the next day to waste my time. I told the chef I didn't mind waiting for the food to be made but he claimed that the wings were too much for him to cook. Guess he picked the wrong profession.

I have ran across this place several times and wanted to try it for a while one night I went for it and decided to order and pick it up. Now firstly they do not answer the phone so I ordered on Uber eats for pick up. I ordered the Rasta Pasta and sweet chili shrimp. The Rasta pasta wasn't Spicy it was regular and the shrimp's were a decent size however being in the container I know it made them slightly soggy. I also got an order of pasta with chicken they gave Rasta pasta with it when it was supposed to be another kind of pasta however I was long gone and had no choice but to keep it the chicken was chopped up almost like left over pieces I didn't like the way it looked. My friend said it was good so I left it at that. I'm honestly on the fence about ordering from here again.

Although the food is Very Good , Hats off to the Chefs. The Attitude of the servers is horrendous. There is no need for Customers to feel that they are being scrutinized for ordering food. They servers act like they are doing you a favor by accommodating you. As said before the Food is Very Good, but the Servers Attitudes are Disgusting. Will not be going back there

Employees are very rude. I asked questions and she rolled her eyes like if she was bothered. I was not satisfied. The food was mediocre. The restaurant itself looked dirty. The employees were using the same gloves to serve the food and handle money

I placed an order through DoorDash for a large Brown Stew Chicken, Rice & Peas, Steamed Veggies, Fried Chicken as well as Mac & Queso. Upon inspecting my delivery I saw a large container of what appeared to be Chicken "Soups" and Brown Stew Chicken. First things first why in the hell did I receive soup? Where's my Fried Chicken and Mac & Queso? Why wasn't I called and informed that they'd be sending something else? I hardly eat soup and I most definitely wouldn't order chicken noodle soup. In all of my years eating Jamaican food I've never had stew chicken that wasn't properly cooked, but today I did. The fact that the skin was extremely visible and hanging loosely was a sure indication that I would be disappointed. The fact that the chicken wasn't fried and then braised in the sauce is appalling to me. I've never had stew chicken that was made spicy. The rice and peas had no flavor besides the spicy brown stew sauce that was placed on top. I'm definitely not a fan of Cascade Jerk.

Well... today was the first time ordering from here I had the escovietch chicken with rice and peas. It was ok I was expecting it better taste wise. I then ordered oxtail Rasta pasta and it was drowning in oil it was not packed nicely at all and honestly it was tasty but not presentable. I read the reviews prior to ordering and it was decent but will I order from here again. Ugh doubt it

Ordered food from here and there was a hair in it. Gross. You get a tin of rice and barely any salmon. Don't waste your money.

Tried for the First . Will Not Go Back Worker Very Rude Understaffed. Plenty of other Choices to spend my money. Thabks Cascade didnt need the Salty Food anyways.

Ordered on doordash they ended giving me 2 rice and peas instead of my order of jerk wings pasta, called in to speak with they tell us to come back the next day to get the right order and when we show up with receipt & photo & video they tell us the chef wont remake jerk wings we should've came earlier....it was 6pm and they close at 10 and were still making sweet chili wings so that didn't make any sense. Chef said they "ran out" did you run out of jerk seasoning? No customer service at all made me go to sleep the night before with my meal then made me come the next day to have me leave empty handed again

I was really hoping for an excellent tasting Carribean good inspired meal. Instead I got old/not well done meat and everything else was fine with the right amount of spice. I ordered curry chicken small meal with rice and peas. Upon smelling the chicken it smelled foul, inside of the chicken it was still pink.....needless to say I ended up with diarrhea. First and last time ordering. Food was not fresh at all. No bueno

I believe I came across this place on TikTok, someone was doing a review so I had to check it out for myself. This food right here was nothing but amazing. I never had fried Salmon before and babyyyyyy it was delicious. I had the bbq shrimp & salmon pasta. Everything was well seasoned!!!... I will be back for more !

I was very happy with the food from this place. It's an "order and sit" or "takeout" spot. I tried this place in the middle of the Summer and it was as hot as you'd expect a jerk chicken place to be, but, I wasn't there for the ambiance. The curry goat and jerk chicken was great. I tend to only mess with veggies instead of starches so I didn't try the rice and peas. Everything had a lot of flavor and was very satisfying.

I love this place but words of advice ORDER WAY BEFORE YOU PLAN ON PICKING UP !!!! For example if you have to run an errand call in your food do what you have to do and make this your last stop. It makes the wait seem like nothing. I have had cascade numerous times and they never disappoint but i learned early on to call my food in. I once walked in and ordered and had to wait about 40 mins the only reason i didn't mind is because i was at a friends house near by. I usually like to stick to what i know so I'm not disappointed in my food. I've had the salmon dreadlock pasta regular and fried , oxtail dreadlock pasta, chicken dreadlock pasta , shrimp dreadlock pasta and dreadlock pasta by itself. I've had shrimp and steamed vegetables , curry shrimp and oxtail with rice and peas. I have been satisfied with every last dish. At one point the guy at the register was calling me by my name. If i had to critique anything it would be the wait time but because i know that they take long to prepare ( which doesn't bother me because i know it's fresh) I'm okay with it. This is also in my opinion not a place to sit and eat. The restaurant is small in itself and they have about 2 tables for 2 people to eat but it's often crowded and i just prefer to not eat with someone possibly standing on my back.

Customer service wasnt too horrible... even though it took a long time for someone to acknowledge me. I ordered a curry chicken and shrimp rasta pasta. The chicken was undercooked & the shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. My pasta has no flavor expect for a hint of pepper. It also has broccoli... which I feel is a little strange.... although I like broccoli, I never had it in rasta pasta... it made my food smell. Wouldn't recommend **EDIT THE NEXT DAY** My boyfriend has food poisoning from the curry chicken!! Taking a trip to the ER if he continues to throw up all over the place! Taking my 2 stars down to 1!!!!!

The wait time is ridiculous... I always got the Shrimp Deadlock Pasta but I decided to get Oxtail.... Baby when I tell you it was so good it was like a taste of haven All the other food is just simple nothing special... Oxtail Deadlock Pasta BEST!!! XoXo PYT

Soooooo I follow them on Instagram and those plates be looking delicious. My aunt lives 4 minutes away. So I had my son go and get me plate and he gotten one too. Everyrhing was good. I had the shrimp, crab legs and veggies platter. It was spicy just the way it needs to be. Seasoned very well. I will be back there very soon!!!!

I was referred here by a friend. It was the WORSE Rasta pasta (nothing Rasta about it) and shrimp ive ever had in my life. The noodles was super thick, the sauce was CHUNKY, THICK and distasteful, more or less sauce wouldn't fix the horrible taste it gave. The shrimp was hard and barely had sauce covered on it. The two doesn't mix to me so I'm not sure how this is a popular dish. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND hungry customers to this establishment.

Nah...just nah. I'm actually very disappointed. First time there and I ordered the one thing that no Caribbean restaurant should be able to mess up, jerk chicken. You can't taste the seasoning, the chicken smells raw, and they skimp on the sauce. I believe someone said their portions are very nice but the food is not, and it's true. The food looks great, but the taste leaves much to be desired. We had to redo it, with ACTUAL jerk seasoning!

First time ordering from here. Will be my last. Placed a simple online order. If you can read, you can see what was ordered. Ordered one plain Rasta pasta with curry goat. Only to receive a full pan of pasta. No goat at all. Ordered jerk chicken. The chicken had ZERO jerk seasoning/flavor and was covered in bbq sauce. The rice was not cooked completely. Some grains were hard in the middle. If this is how you're serving this community you need to be ashamed of yourselves. If we're paying this kind of money for this type of food then we deserve better. Bottom line.

Food looked good and from the portions that I saw they looked humongous. Unfortunately I ordered two beef attired and they were overcooked and dry on the inside but I would give them another chance.

This place is legit- I'm in Astoria and as such, don't really have access to decent Caribbean food. I'm also not in the Jamaica area very often but this was a rare treat. As some people mentioned in their reviews, the service leaves something to be desired. There was a very cold and flat tone from the woman working the counter, almost like she didn't want to be there and I was inconveniencing her by placing an order. I got the curry goat over rice and peas, steamed vegetables, plantains and a pineapple ginger beer. I got my food very quickly and was very happy with the taste of everything, though as I discovered upon returning home to eat, I was given plain white rice instead but oh well. Everything was awesome- the goat was tender and had just the right level of spice. The plaintains were almost a little charred on the outside and ever so slightly cripsy which compliments the tender sweetness perfectly. Even the ineapple gingerbeer was great, which I have never had or even seen before. The entire thing came out to about $13 which is a great value for the amount and quality of food you get. I will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again for work. I'm interested in trying their jerk chicken, roti and some iteration of chicken and waffles.

It's is now 6:23 p.m. I made this order at 4:35p.m. At 4:46, I was called to be told they did not have the ingredients to make my order. (Dreadlock pasta and lobster). Substituted for a mix of chicken and shrimp. At 5:31p.m I was called once again to be told that the delivery driver was stuck in traffic to pick up my order from the restaurant and deliver it to me. I was offered nothing but an "apology." I said ok anticipating the delivery guy must be en route. I hope this food is worthy this wait. I should've listened to the reviews more than 45 mins later I wait.This establishment is 15 mins away from me driving. I digress...

This place took me by surprise. I had a craving for Rasta pasta and thought that their dreadlock pasta might be similar. Reviews as well as photos seemed questionable on yelp, but I noted that everyone who ordered the pasta was without complaint so I decided to roll the dice. Ordered a medium shrimp Rasta pasta and paid additionally for extra shrimp. It was fantastic. I literally commented to my husband that this dish was actually better than the last 3 delivery pasta dishes I'd ordered from various Italian restaurants in the area. I still can't speak for the rest of the food, but the pasta is most definitely a standout!

Was in the area and did a google search for "Rasta Pasta"...Cascade Jerk came up with stellar reviews...specifically for the pasta which is what I had a craving for...Menu has many traditional Jamaican options along with plenty of sides, desserts, and bottled Caribbean specialty drinks. I ordered the salmon pasta with sorrel ginger drink, a pineapple ginger drink, and a ginger beer. The sauce on the pasta was incredible. It had a dry jerk seasoning, grated parmesan cheese, carrots, and broccoli and was topped with a decent sized piece of jerk salmon. Fried salmon was also an option but...when you go to a restaurant with "jerk" in the title...you probably should walk out with something with jerk seasoning on it haha The salmon was great! No skin, appears to have been grilled and it had a dry jerk seasoning on it that was epic. I live an hour away from Queens but if this place was closer to my house I would be there weekly...not sure how this place could have any negative reviews. The food was fresh and flavorful, the tray stations where they had the hot food was clean/enclosed in glass, and the staff was attentive as soon as you walk in...I really enjoyed my experience at Cascade and will be back should I be in the area again.

I decided to try this restaurant because of the pictures on their Instagram page and expected it to delicious, but looks can be deceiving. It's a small restaurant with no tables or chairs. The thing I hate most about Caribbean restaurants are their service. I walked in and said hello and no one responded. I then walked over to the food to see the options and it looked ok. Most of their seafood and pastas are made to order. I didn't know this and didn't want to wait so I had the curry shrimp with shrimp fried rice which was already prepared. The food was OKAY. I didn't really like the rice. The shrimp was over cooked and tasted eh. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. It was a little over priced at $17 for the plate. I will not return to this restaurant.

My Jamaican ppl. Today I did feel like eating something nice (you know dem way deh?) and was missing a good box food like back home. I decided to look on DoorDash for some oxtail and saw this place. Prices seemed worth it and I added a piece of fried chicken because you know that combo supposed to SHOT. Anyway now, the food reach and the bag heavyyyyyyy ... me get well excited and I was not disappointed. The food NOICE. It nuff and NOICE me a tell you. Hot and delicious. Whew. No sah. I eat 3 times out of it and the sleep come down pon me. That's how you KNOW. Cascade Jerk, thank you and we're gonna be good frenz. Big up the chef !

Just ordered from here. The steamed shrimp and jerk chicken for my son. All we can say is WOW!!! Great job. Delivery actually arrived a bit earlier than expected. We are in our heaven right now.

Best pasta dishes around! Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for the super fact that i've come here multiple times and we've only gotten the same 2 meals lol. The wait is super long sometimes but the food is always good, happy it's not rushed and thrown together.

I tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from family, I ordered the jerk chicken Rasta pasta. The plate was so full! It lasted 2 days! The pasta could have been cooked a little bit softer, but the sauce was soooo good!! The chicken was well seasoned and the spice was just right!! It complemented the pasta and the sauce! I'm definitely going to try more! Only problem is the wait time.. as with EVERY Jamaican restaurant! We called our order in 25 minutes prior, get there and still have to wait about 10 mins for the order! And the restaurant wasn't full! 2 people aside from myself! But again other that that! Food was great!

This is the best West Indian spot around. The Curry Shrimp - delicious. Also ordered the Sweet Chili Shrimp and Salmon Pasta. It's not only look pretty, it was sooooo damn good. I highly recommend Cascade Jerk.

Ordered in from here last night. Food was amazing. The oxtail pasta was filled with oxtail and very flavorful. The staff went the extra step to plastic wrap the dish for delivery. The jerk chicken was perfectly cool and not dry. I was shocked how good the rice and beans side was. Definitely going back!

Took a while to get my food. But it was so worth the wait!! The food was amazing!! I ordered the oxtail Rasta pasta with fried shrimp. Me and my homegirl dogged it!! It was so fresh and GOOD!!!! I don't give a shit about waiting if my experience is like that everytime!!! There's so many Jamaican spots where I live so I wasn't that excited to eat here. This was my first time, and this spot will be number one on my list whenever I'm craving Jamaican food. Highly recommended. Two oxtail Rasta pastas with fried shrimp came to $40 even which is fine with me. I will definitely be back!!! Only two things I wish they had was Pepper sauce and more drink options. But other than that I love this place.

I got my pasta from DoorDash after debating for almost an hour on what to get and WOW! I was so happy I made the decision to get the oxtail dreadlocks pasta and then then the extra jerk shrimp was the perfect add on. It was so good even after I reheated it the next day. Definitely will be ordering again!

I've ordered prior via UberEats & had the shrimp & pasta & it was 5 stars. The shrimp was cooked well & pasta creamy & seasoned to perfection. I went into the restaurant this time & since I always get the shrimp, I figure I try the salmon. The salmon was disgusting..it was breaded! Never in my life 30+ years have I ever had salmon breaded! Who does that! The pasta was seasoned well, but seemed dry & not creamy. This is a totally 360, to my prior feelings on this restaurant...I really don't know if I'll ever order again.

Ordered the Jerk Shrimp pasta with a side of some drinks. Really delicious and it was made to order (not preheated or saved from the night before). Will order again!

This food is popping!!! No lie. I got curry chicken rasta pasta and it was amazing. The curry actually taste like curry and the pasta was delicious. Not that watery weird stuff some restaurants be selling. And the amount of food I got for only $11. I ate this in two sittings. Now I know you gonna look at my pic and say eww. But trust me just order it. The pasta meals is made to order but i waited about 5mins tops. I will be back to try something else. Oh and if u feel lazy. They are on uber eats. ENJOY!!!

Update to original post - their rasta pasta gave my bf diarrhea too. So that's me, him and the dog lol

I've heard about this place for a while now. I live in the neighborhood and was finally able to give this place a try. I ordered the oxtail with rice n peas (medium) I didn't get the steam veggies because it didn't look fresh. I just got the sweet plaintains, my order came out to $11.70 which is standard for oxtail meals from Jamaican restaurants. The food was good I must say the rice was also good I just wished that they added more meat on my plate. I will definitely go back for more food I am interested in trying their pepper shrimp.

The bomb.com! My first time trying out this place and I wished I visited a long time ago. I'm definitely going to return. The oxtails nice and juicy and tender. Lord!! I love a good oxtail dinner

I ordered a large Alfredo shrimp pasta & I was so disappointed as it was full of salt. The Alfredo sauce was way too salty for me. It led to me dispose the meal smh.
