Resorts World Casino on Rockaway Blvd. Is the place where I have enjoyed attending the Rhythm Revue/Roseland Reunion Parties for years. Some of the parties have been themed, others occurred around various holidays (ex. Christmas, etc.) and they have all been so much fun to attend. The most recent Rhythm Revue/ Roseland Reunion Party was held last Saturday during the week of my birthday and it will be the most memorable. Why?...Because it will reportedly be the last one held at Resorts. So sad to see that it will no longer be held here (although some have continued to be held at smaller venues like SOB's in lower Manhattan) but I appreciate all of the great times, memories etc. and look forward to whatever venues it will be held in in the future
Resorts is spacious with multiple floors. There are numerous slot machines, electronic table games and card tables. Staff are friendly and I have observed them to be hardworking especially when serving customers, when cleaning to discard garbage and also when keeping the bathrooms clean, tidy and organized. Everytime I have been to Resorts, the bathrooms have looked Immaculate. I have eaten in their Food Court multiple times in the past and there has been a good selection of things to choose from...The food has been tasty and decent enough to eat.
The Rhythm Revue Parties have always had great DJ's play fantastic music from.the 70's, 80,s, 90's, etc. Everything from Hip-Hop, Pop, Reggae, Disco and RqB are played throughout the time and yes we were up dancing most of the time-lol. Felix Hernandez is dynamic and they practically have to usher people out when it is over because we always want more music so we can keep dancing-lol. Since the recen Rhythm Revue / Roseland Reunion "All White" party was the last one here, they opened the doors at 7:30pm instead of 9pm.and we enjoyed the extra party time. We were able to get a table and seats (we did not order VIP Tickets this time).
The Chicken Wings I had were delicious, well-seasoned and were paired well w/ the fabulously -tasting dipping sauces. The bar on the floor of the party did not open to serve food or drinks until 9pm so people were pretty hungry & thirsty if they got there 1.5 hours early. Also, the lines were long for far too long as the bartenders had issues w/ making drinks quickly, had issues working the register to take credit card payments, etc. Lastly, they did not make nice mixed frinks like Rum Punch or Long Island Iced Tea that they made during previous Rhythm Revue events. THey just made standard drinks like a Rum & Coke or a Vodka w/ Cranberry Juice or Wine. The wine cups were pretty small for $13 and they had standard plastic cups for the other drinks - they charged $15 which was a bit overpriced for the size.. So glad that those I was with took care of me for the entire evening as a belated birthday present. So Blessed to have them in my life!. All in all, it has always been a great experience to come.to Resorts.
