Casita Basqueria - Review - Malibu - Los Angeles - The Infatuation
"Surf Canyon Malibu is full of ceramic studios and artisan sandal shops, but the best reason to visit this tiny community is Casita Basqueria, a Spanish mini-mart that sells the best (and hardest to get) sandwiches in Malibu. The French-Basque owner Sebastien prepares about a dozen bocadillos each day on chewy pan de cristal imported from Spain, and the fillings are always different: oil-packed tuna, wood-grilled steak, or crispy cured ham with manchego and garlicky tomato aioli. There’s no menu, and sandwiches usually sell out in the afternoon, so you just have to show up early and see what he’s making that day. And grab a latte, too—Sebastien is also skilled on the milk frother.
