The 22 Best Restaurants in Cork, Ireland | Eater

"The glittering steampunk outfit — all brass, glass, and twinkling lights — is appropriate for this opulent 19th-century space in the city’s Victorian Quarter. Equal attention is paid to a seasonal cocktail menu that’s focused on foraged wild ingredients and spirits from local producers, yielding drinks such as the Rosehip (Connemara Irish whiskey, fig leaf, rosehip), the Pear (Bán Poitín, pear, white port, champagne), and the Wood Sorrel (Glendalough Autumn Gin, Banyuls, wood sorrel). The food menu stretches from bites to full dinners, including soft-shell tacos with herring, anchovies, avocado, black beans, and sweetcorn salsa; and Ballyhoura wild mushrooms, smoked sausage, and scamorza cheese. Great cocktails, by mixologists that know their stuff and who are happy to field questions. Was there at opening time on a Sunday, so didn't have to book, but seemed like there were a lot of bookings from 5pm. Small plates of food are outstanding - particularly the trout tostada. This place has it all. A must visit if you are into cocktails.

Amazing place, we loved the ambience. Dan made us some cocktails which were delicious, very friendly and upbeat fella. Food was also great, we had fries (excellent) and a cheeseboard. Will defo come back.

Stopped by Cask while in Cork and had a great experience. We ordered a Moretti and a cocktail—both well served and enjoyable. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and took time to explain a few of the cocktail options, which added a nice personal touch to the visit. The venue itself is stylish and classy without feeling pretentious—perfect for a relaxed drink in a refined setting. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for quality drinks and great service in a polished atmosphere.

Our waitress (Charlotte, with blonde hair and glasses) was friendly and made our night very pleasant. The drinks were great and the menu was unique. Loved the speak of the devil cocktail, the miso aubergine, and the basque cheesecake! Though, everything was lovely

Google
Great experience! The atmosphere at the bar is super pleasant, cozy, and perfect for a good time with friends. The staff was very polite and attentive, which made all the difference. The food was really good, but I missed having more vegetarian options on the menu. It would be great to see more variety in that regard. Overall, a very positive experience, and I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Fabulous food, great cocktails menu - they make to die for Irish Mule. Drink prices are on the high side but we had a sharing board of charcuterie and cheeses that was very good value.

Google
This place is fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly, the drinks are the best, and the food is amazing. My favorite thing was the pesto that came with the bread, butter and hummus. Absolutely the best pesto I've ever had. The ribs are fall apart tender and full of flavor.

Everything about Cask was absolutely lovely besides the beef dish that had very little meat and was mostly fat and gristle which is why I couldn't give it the full 5 stars. The ambiance is a 5 star so it's a great place to take a date. The tapas are high quality but I have had better for lower prices locally. Edit... it now has 5 stars all the way with the new dishes!!!

Yelp
This is such a cool restaurant, from the decor and overall menu selections, it's definitely with the times. The cocktails are excellent and even if you dont want something off the menu, they have a huge selection of liquor and wine so I'm sure they would be able to make whatever you want. The wait staff all help out, to ensure service goes well. The star of this restaurant though is the food, everything was perfectly seasoned and portioned perfectly. If you're ever in Cork this restaurant is a must try.

Yelp
Pre-dinner cocktails with my honey. Lovely bar next to the Isaac Hotel in Cork, Ireland. Came about 5:30pm on a Monday evening so was peaceful with some lovely smooth jazz playing throughout...and not too loud!! Bartender was very nice and served us quickly.

Yelp
Great bar for craft cocktails. We enjoyed each one we tried. I loved the menu illustrations and descriptions of the drinks.

Yelp
We were here for a night on a trip and had amazing drinks, food and service. Dan was the BEST and gave us recommendations for the rest of our Ireland trip.

Yelp
First you need to know that in Ireland, especially Cork, they do not typically use Yelp. Everything is on Trip Advisor. Fantastic bartenders!!! Best in Cork! Beautiful bar and patio. The food is amazing! I highly recommend Cask. Hoping to be back!

Yelp
If you are looking for a spot that is serious about the art of mixology then you need to check out Cask. This dimly lit spot, subtly located on McCurtain street, is a no-brainer if you are looking for a cool bar that serves seasonal cocktails. Their selection of dinks is impress and their staff are really helpful. We will be back.

Yelp
Was good. Did like. We ordered most everything on the menu, & the cocktails were creative, whimsical, waggish. It was a playful time!!!! Cask is outstanding.

Yelp
Amazing service with friendly and attentive staff. The drinks where very tasty and plentiful. The food was lovely and they could accommodate all the various requests and allergies at the table with no fuss

Yelp
We will make sure to add Cork to every visit to Ireland just so we can spend an evening at Cask: amazing cocktails (try the Penny & Jack), incredible food (don't miss the pork belly and steak), great ambience. The restaurant is very noisy but the service is quick and attentive. Definitely a fun night out!

Yelp
Lovely service & most of food gorgeous. Delicious cocktails. Ribs amazing - great glaze. Pork belly yummy. Fail on desserts & the Brie was SUPER disappointing. Not melted in middle and super bitter - could benefit from drizzle of something sweet? Honey? No idea but it was inedible and I eat everything

Yelp
A horrific experience with an aggressive bar manager. We were ushered in by other patrons at the door and did not spot signs saying wait to be seated. As we were only using the bar and not the restaurant, we did not anticipate free seats may be reserved. A very friendly waitress pointed out our error after we sat down. No problem, we made moves to leave. A needlessly aggressive bar manager intervened as we were exiting, saying about the signs we genuinely hadn't spotted due to the situation at the (unmanned) door. He approached my wife in a manner that upset her to tears, reiterating needlessly about the signs at the door about being seated, putting his hand in her face aggressively saying goodbye. As if we had done something intentional, and hadn't been happy to react to the waitresses prompt. All this will be on camera, management are welcome to check. I would herald and champion Cork to the nines, but can only warn anyone in the area to avoid Cask while they employ people of this needlessly and upsetting aggressive nature. It was an awful experience for myself, my wife and friend. Avoid.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! After a long day of travel, coming down to Cask was really a treat. All of the ingredients are restaurant made, and really is a great place to eat and have a drink. Highly recommended if you are coming down to Cork

Yelp
Fantastic place for a birthday party or even to meet with friends! Myself and some friends booked a table outside for a dinner together and Leandro and the other staff not only they gave us the best table, overlooking the waterfall, but the food, the drinks and the service were top notch! Highly recommend it !!!

Yelp
Amazing tapas and cocktails.!!! They had one of their mixologist there that night and told the server to make random drinks with certain liquor and taste we were looking for and all night sent out different ones that fit that request all were amazing. The tapas were fantastic especially the pork belly sandwiches

Yelp
This is how you do it folks What a top class joint Excellent cocktails wirh reasonable pricing and flare and style from the mixologists Finally had the food here and it was bomb Great wee smoking area and super fast service for a cocktail bar, what efficiency Minus one point only for one staff member who seemed really disinterested After having her serve us once we avoided But she was behind the bar picking her nails and seemed really disinterested with us when we excitedly asked about ingredients and name choices on cocktails (also it wasn't busy as I always forgive staff not being able to chat when a bar is busy) A must see and where else would one get a cocktail in a fruit can! I even got free Spider-Man tattoos off the bartender and felt like a wee kid again

Yelp
Good clean taps, creative mixed drinks. Tons of bitters and such. Bartenders were friendly and sharp. We didnt eat here but the food looked great. They plated the hot wings with tweezer-tongs.

Yelp
Not the cheapest place for a pint and our server told us upfront that the kitchen was backed up, but it seems to be the place to go in Cork. Atmosphere, drinks, mix of locals and travelers, all 5 stars!

Yelp
Ireland is not **yet** a cocktail nation, but that should change with Cask. Amazing place, menu, staff and of course cocktails. Everything I tried was impeccably balanced--including one with poitín and whiskey (deceptively strong!). Innovative combinations, most with some infusion or craft-made touch that made the drink unique to Cask. The menu changes 4 times a year. The bartenders enjoy their craft and are happy to guide you to something outside your normal habits. The accompanying tapas menu is generous and delicious (try the black pudding pork sliders, and the marinated golden raisins with roast almonds).

Yelp
Cool art, nice decor, good atmosphere. Exposed brick, neat light fixtures and character, there are two bars and you can also go outside by the stone waterfall which is nice. Unique menu, very nice and creative cocktails and the staff is very friendly, especially Connor!

Yelp
Only going to give this place three stars. They definitely win when it comes to atmosphere and creativity. The drinks were fantastic and the place was very comfortable and inviting. The service however was pretty awful. We sat for over 10 minutes before we were waited on and the bar wasn't even very busy. When our waitress finally did come to us, she wasn't very friendly and she did a terrible job checking up on us. The only time she came over was when she brought us our drinks, and then after we had finished, we had to go up to the bar twice to ask for our checks. Service is a huge part of a businesses success. This place is beautiful and has some amazing drinks. They should hold their customer service to the same standard as everything else.

Yelp
Just hit up Cask last Saturday as recommended by the hotel concierge. Great pub, good food and a great outdoor space. The staff was brilliant and awesome craft cocktails. The sound system is legit and they did a nice job on the playlist. Definitely going back next time I'm in Cork!

Yelp
When you first walk in this place you are taken back by the detailed decor and low lit bar. The drink menu is beyond amazing, although on the pricey side, it is well well worth it. They take their time to design each cocktail and attach a meaningful story with it. Lastly, the service is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Dan and Linda were phenomenal and the most generous people I have ever met. They made us feel welcome and treated us to free dessert. This place is spectacular and the service is ten times over what I expected. Thank you Dan & Linda, you're the best!!!!

Yelp
5/5 for cocktails ( fantastic mixologist) and 5/5 for atmosphere! They did a fantastic job decorating and making this bar seem like your in a hip/young bar! It actually reminds me of a bar in a large city. Our party had cocktails, beer (Cotton Ball Brew Company-out of Cork), and a light beer ( Coors Light... Umm.. I know). The cocktails and local beer were so delicious! If you want a very modern feel come here!

Yelp
Loved the décor, super staff, interesting menu and flavours which deliver....delicious, and one of the best mocktails I've ever had. Super relaxing and enjoyable night out. Lovely covered seating area outside by the waterfall. Great location if attending a show in the Everyman or Live at St Lukes
