Had a table for 2 here on Friday night just gone. No space inside so reserved a table outside. Checked the weather forecast a few days before sent them a panicked email as it was forecast to be raining and cold (mid December) asking about heating/ covers. Received a prompt email back to reassure me there are outside heaters and the area is covered. I absolutely loved the food, cocktails and atmosphere at this place. The table outside was right next to a heater and lively without being intrusive or too loud. Staff very friendly and plenty of them. The cocktail list is extensive and we tried a few different ones, all really good. Ordered a few of the small plates also - cheeseboard, pana bakery, baby potatoes and apple tarte. All really good with the roast leek butter on the bakery board a particular standout. At one point they brought the charcuterie instead of the cheeseboard by mistake. I would have loved to have kept it as it also looked fantastic however my wife is pescatarian so back it went. I quickly got over that by getting stuck back into the cocktail menu however. We tried the sprites and goblins, speak of the devil, tick Friday and little pot. All fantastic, I was expecting the little pot to be thick/ milky from the description but it was more like a very delicate dessert wine. The apple tarte tartin was good and came with ice cream, however it definitely had the taste and texture of a sorbet. I would have preferred cream/ basic ice cream just to offset the tartness of the apple, but that really is splitting hairs. Everything else was flawless. I would definitely go back if im ever in Cork again.
