Cask 'n Cleaver

Everything about this place was outstanding! We came here after hearing there was a 1.5-hour wait at another steakhouse, and it turned out to be the best decision of the night. Our server **Kendell** was fantastic — super attentive without hovering and made us feel completely taken care of. The **cocktails** (Strawberry Margarita and Cadillac Margarita) were perfectly made and absolutely hit the spot. We ordered **two 16oz Prime Ribs and one Filet**, and all three were cooked to perfection. The **salad bar** was fresh, well-stocked, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. Hats off to the entire team for such a great dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a classic steakhouse done right!

It took about 10 minutes for the server to greet the table. The server was very pleasant. Our party ordered appetizers and drinks. My husband ordered a double mango IPA. It was not an IPA. The server kindly took the beer back to the bar and brought another type. After the appetizers, our salads arrived. They were very good. Then the main courses arrived. However, the salad plates and appetizer plates were not removed. This was unacceptable. You removed the dirty plates before setting the main courses down. Two people in our party ordered steak and were pleased with the flavors. I ordered lobster because a family member recommended it. The size was maybe 6 oz. and cost $41.00. I was disappointed with the size for the price. Thankfully, it was flavorful. The atmosphere has changed over the years. The Cast and Cleaver used to be a bit more upscale. Sadly, it is no longer especially for the price of the dinner. This was my husband's first visit, and he asked that we don't go back. He was not pleased and felt rushed. We actually were there maybe 1 hour and 10 minutes whuch for the money we spent, it should have been 2 hours. It makes me very sad because I have lovely memories from all the years I have eaten there. And I do have to agree with my husband, we won't return.

Steaks cooked to order so delicious and drinks also excellent so was the service what a wonderful place to have in the neighborhood keep doing things right can't wait to be back for something different on the menu

Look, if you live in the IE, you know about Cask-N-Cleaver. This restaurant is an institution. It's old and dated inside, but that's a HUGE part of it's charm!!! The atmosphere remains warm and welcoming and the food is just solid. We had a large party for my dad's birthday and our server was incredibly attentive, fast and thoughtful! Everyone loved their food and my dad had the best night!

We went to have our staff Christmas dinner party this year for work. It's a great restaurant, there are plenty of seating plenty of parking spaces. The staff is very helpful and friendly, customer service is great. The food is fantastic. I had the filet mignon and salad from the salad bar. The salad bar was fully stacked, for being a salad bar there was a nice variety of choice's and all you can eat. The filet mignon was one of the best steak's I have ever had, it was a nice size and very filling, the mashed potatoes were amazing as well. Definitely worth what you pay for. I recommend eating here for sure.

We had a group of 7 and there was no wait. We shared a potato skins appetizer and it was great. The salad bar had a diverse selection of items and was quite good. My prime rib was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed her teriyaki chicken. Our server was very attentive and we all enjoyed our visit.

Trisha is a great server!! Absolutely love her energy and manners. The food was really good and the salad bar was very fresh. Very cozy atmosphere. The music selection is nice as well. But overall I would say Trisha pulled it all together with her service for my gf & I to enjoy ourselves. God bless

Food: The food was very good and tasty. The salad bar, everything was fresh and looked like it was very taken care of! The burger and fries were good, but nothing special. The corn chowder was so good! The steak kabobs were tasty but the mashed potatoes that were with it were very much so room temperature. And the other baked potatoes on the table weren't necessarily hot. We ordered our steaks to medium. But 2 of them came out medium rare. Which is okay, we kindly asked our server to throw them back in the grill and he kindly did! And apologized for it. Also, they had really good iced tea! Service: Everyone was very attentive and friendly here. We had absolutely no issues. Inside: The inside is a cute cozy vibe. Very cute in there. Half of it is like a bar. With tv's (they had the game on) but you still get the service! And then the other half is more of the restaurant type. But separated completely! Outside: It is pretty easy to get too. There is a lot of parking.

We had a family party here. The food is pretty good. We had the sirloin steak, which was really thick and cooked to medium rare as we specified.. I think I would've preferred the New York strip cutting instead. We also got the lobster tail, which was delicious.. The baked potato was followed with sour cream, butter and chives. I would avoid the add-on mushrooms for the steak, they seemed overcooked and not fresh. The salad bar is pretty good with a lot of different selections . Service was terrific and attended even though we had a party of about 22 people.

Absolutely blown away! We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and everything from start to finish was incredible. We were a large group, and our server Heather took care of us like a pro. Her service was top tier -- warm, attentive, and genuinely amazing. The ambience feels like a classic American steakhouse straight out of a movie -- cozy, old-school charm done right. The food... INSANE. I was honestly skeptical walking in because many older restaurants don't keep up with the times, but Cask n Cleaver absolutely delivers. The steak was one of the best I've ever had -- I even said it beats some Michelin-star spots I've tried. I got the steak with blue cheese and wow... perfection. Between the price, the quality of the aged meat, and the chef's execution, this place exceeded every expectation. They also host events for parties of 25+, which is amazing to know. The best part its super close to my house. I'm soooooo glad we tried it -- definitely coming back. Highly recommend!

Cast' n Cleaver is well-known for their steaks, and they definitely delivered. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was incredibly tender. The 8 oz portion was a great size, and it was cooked perfectly. My asparagus was good, though I personally prefer the thinner spears and a bit more seasoning. My son ordered the salad bar with his steak, and he truly enjoyed everything. My husband got the filet mignon with a baked potato, and he loved his meal--he cleaned his plate! He also ordered the lemon cake for dessert and said it was delicious. The restaurant itself has a cozy, older-cabin feel. It's surprisingly spacious, and a nice bonus is their all-day, everyday happy hour at the bar. Overall, great steaks, great service, and a charming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

The most mid prime rib you will ever have. If you are over 65 and your tastebuds aren't as sharp as they used to be, this is the place for you.

This place always hits the spot!! I love their All you can eat salad bar, it is so fresh and affordable! All of the staff is very friendly and great with our kids. I love the rustic look that makes you feel like you're in a cabin or up in the mountains. We go here at least twice a month.

The ambience of this place is fantastic. There was a gorgeous garden with water fountain out our window. With the hunter green and brown motif and galley chairs, I felt like I was back in the 80s. The salad bar is a huge throwback until you eat it. Every single item is peak freshness and hand made... the eggs, carrots, onions, Freshly made potato salad, dressings including house made Thousand Island and Honey Mustard. I got the all you can eat with my dinner. I was very impressed. For entrees we had the 10 Oz Prime Rib and the teriyaki mixed grill. My sweetheart said the Prime rib was over and next time he would have a steak. I was blown away by the teriyaki steak kabob which was perfectly medium rare like I asked for and was delicious. The dried shrimp were ok but I would pass next time. The chicken came with a slice of grilled teriyaki. I had to take the chicken and my baked potato home. It was so much food for me. The flavors and ambience were outstanding to me. It is great to have a home grown family owned casual dining restaurant right in my neighborhood. I felt I was worlds away. After dinner I enjoyed walking around and exploring the garden. I had initially eyed the mint chip mud pie but it will have to wait for next time.

I have been eating here for over 30 years. Really enjoy the steaks and salad bar. Service is always excellent and prompt. Really a nice place to sit down and eat. Nice plays to relax and enjoy good food.

We go here all the time to get the salad bar. It is the best!!! We also have the mushrooms and the fried avocado. YUMMMMMMM!! The ambience is perfect for any occasion. We love bringing out of town guests here because it is never a let down. The staff is great! Just an awesome, historic, amazing restaurant!

We visited Cask & Cleaver on Christmas Eve and had a really nice experience overall. While waiting for our reservation, we spent some time in the bar area, which we really enjoyed -- it was comfortable, festive, and a great place to relax before being seated. We were seated at a window table and were pleasantly surprised by the view outside. There was a waterfall and pond area that made for a beautiful focal point. There was a bright spotlight shining on the waterfall, though we felt that some soft twinkle lights might show off the area even better -- more subtle, cozy, and still highlighting the waterfall as the main feature. Our server was very nice and attentive throughout the meal. The prime rib was yummy and definitely a highlight. The New York steak was seasoned well, though it was a bit chewy. The warm bread rolls were delicious and came with a generous amount of butter, which we appreciated. Overall, it was a pleasant Christmas Eve dinner, and we would definitely return.

We haven't been here in about 5 years. We came here for lunch last week which is a first. Unfortunately for us, they're only open for lunch on the weekdays, Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 2:00pm. We both work. We've only eaten here one other time for dinner so it was definitely a different experience coming during the day. I made a reservation through Open Table as I didn't know if they would be busy or not. When we arrived they had our reservation on file and seated us right away by the window. I was surprised that other people were already arriving as well. I still love the old school feel and ambiance. We literally just came for the salad bar because we hadn't tried it before. I ordered the Salad Bar & Bottomless Soup at $13.95 and my husband got the Salad Bar with the 1/2 Sandwich (he picked turkey) at $14.95. We both ordered drinks, an iced tea and Coke at $3.95 each. Our total with tax came out to $39.65. Anyway, I got one of each soup; the clam chowder and tomato bisque. Their fresh bread is also amazing which went so well with my soup. The salad bar had fresh ingredients and also fresh fruit. We also received great service. Multiple people checking up on us, providing refills for our drinks, and taking away our plates. As we were leaving, the restaurant had a decent amount of customers inside. I asked my husband if he enjoyed his meal and he did. He said the next time we return is probably going to be for dinner again and he'd order a steak.

I've been kind of a salad fiend lately with the hot weather and whatnot, so when I found out that this place has a salad bar only option that includes fresh table bread, I thought I had to go try it at least once. I was also looking forward to trying the bottomless soup, but the soup of the day was meat based so I stuck with the salad bar only this time. It was empty at dinner time and service was very prompt. I loved the fresh bread. It came out slightly warm, but didn't stay that way for longer than a minute unfortunately as the A/C was blasting all night long. There is a sweet brown loaf and a sourdough. Both were so good and fluffy, but I think I was partial to the sourdough. The salad bar was small but had enough of a variety of fixings that I was satisfied. Definitely nothing special about it though. The potato salad was really good! The pasta salad was alright but bland. There's a small variety of fruit and a rice pudding available at the salad bar as well, but I didn't try any this time. Overall, the bread was my favorite part. I probably wouldn't do this again, but for the price and convenience it was a fine experience.

Went in tonight, just my toddler daughter and me. They sat us in a secluded booth in the back, which was welcomed, as my toddler can get a little restless. There was a garden waterfall view, which my daughter loved, and we were set up with a coloring page along with some books we brought. I was nervous about going into a steakhouse with a toddler, but now I'm going to request this table, as she was so happy there (and my nerves weren't on edge). Service-wise, Paris was INCREDIBLE. I tend to get a lot of ho-hums when it's just the two of us, but she treated us with what I imagine is her standard for any table. Super friendly, genuinely nice and accommodating, and pre-bussed like a champ (which is huge with grabby toddler hands). You are so lucky to have her! We got the kid's grilled cheese and mesquite pepper sirloin. Both were super tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly. Everything was more than reasonably priced, and we left with plenty for breakfast/lunch tomorrow. We will be back, excited to take my father-in-law here for his upcoming birthday!

I'm not sure which was better...the service or the food! I would say my family knows our way around a good steak and prime rib and everyone was completely satisfied with our food. My Mom and I both had the prime rib, my husband and sister had the sirloin and Dad had the Rib Eye. They also make their drinks strong. I had the Bellini Martini and Dad had an Old Fashioned. Everything was top notch. It's not as fancy as Flemings, but it is better food. To top it off they brought me a little something for my Birthday! Nice laid back atmosphere as well. I could see myself stopping by for a drink at the bar also. Definitely planning a return trip.

I just stopped in from out of town , looked them up on yelp and they looked good . I'm here enjoying a great steak at a fantastic price ! The side and salad are perfect. Service is the best , like restaurants used to do it . If your in the area this place is a must !!! 10 out of 10 !! If I lived around here I would be here once a week !!

My family was so upset when the Cask & Cleaver closed down in San Dimas because it was our go to place for Mother's Day and birthdays. Last week when I was supposed to choose a place to celebrate my birthday it was suggested that we go to Cask & Cleaver in Rancho, I didn't even know it existed. It was like finding an old friend! The service was as good as the food, so great!! We will be back!! My only disappointment is that I ordered a "traditional lime daiquiri" and after the server came back multiple times with questions about how I wanted it (rather than the bartender simply looking it up on the internet), I was so disappointed when I received something that resembled a margarita in a water glass. I definitely learned my lesson there, stick to the menu and you won't be disappointed! Excellent steak, potato, and my son loved the deep fried avocado!

Went here with a couple friends celebrating my 62 birthday. Food was yummy and the service was top notch

I want to tell you how much I have had comfort the last 3 nights eating here. 11/30/25 had Heather for our server. What a dream! She was polite and good vibes. Food came out perfect- no mistakes and it was hot and delicious. We had the French dip with steak fries and mesquite pepper steak. Cheesecake to go (delish)! 12/1/25 - came back in for dinner 15 minutes before they close. They were not bothered by our late arrival and graciously served us. We are from Vegas so we get it- and had our order ready to go- smothered bleu steak and fish n chips and cheesecake to go. Another night where the food was correct and hot. The server we had (male) didn't rush us and was polite. 12/2/25- third night and we sat in the bar. Heather was there which was a pleasant surprise. She remembered us and once she found out the reason we are in town- what a beautiful person ! My mother is terminal and is at San Antonio hospital - just a short trip from the venue. She was very empathetic and kind hearted. This is the kind of individual /employee that brings people back! The food once again didn't fail- blackened salmon and shrimp scamp- and of course a cheesecake to go. The cheesecake is killer. Low key I dont want to share with husband but I do. Heather gave us the cheesecake on the house- a small gesture due to my mother. I really appreciated her kindness. It was unexpected and hard to find with people these days. She's a gem! We still have some money on the last gift card and will definitely be back for a fourth time tomorrow. We will wait for Heather - she's the best. I observed how she was with other guests and also her coworkers. Bottom line she rocks and really understands true hospitality. The wife and I had a great time out with some friends at a place with a really nice vibe. The servers were also very friendly and attentive. The food was decent. I ordered the fish and chips, which were good, but my wife's steak was a bit dry, despite being well-seasoned.

Jordynn is hands down the best server I've ever had. From the moment we were seated, she was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She checked in at all the right times without being intrusive, made great recommendations, and made sure everything came out exactly how we wanted it. You can tell she truly cares about her guests and takes pride in her work. Jordynn's positive attitude and professionalism completely elevated our experience, and she's a big reason we'll be coming back. If you're lucky enough to have Jordynn as your server, you're guaranteed a great time!

Very disappointing. Was one of my favorite places to come for lunch with my sister as she lives so close by. Why have you gone DOWNHILL? You took off the Lunch Menu the most inexpensive item for WHAT REASON???? It was a bowl of soup, a choice of one of 3 salads and the house bread and butter for $6.95. GONE!!! Everything else is at least twice as much. We enjoy the salad bar but don't always want an AYCE choice. We went there today and not only found that gone off the menu, but all the prices UPPED by at least $2. Our Waitress did not get our order right even though we clearly told her what e wanted. We ordered the Soup and 1/2 sandwich (chose the BLTA sandwich, no avocado but extra bacon), also coffee. We got the coffee, the sandwich (with ROCK HARD BACON felt like I would break a tooth. I took it home. Afraid to eat it there. Had to let it soften. Waited around NO SOUP. Had to flag her down and ask where is our soup? "Ohhhh, I thought you got the salad bar" Then why did we ask what the soup of the day was? Finally had our soup and boxed up the rest. got the receipt and charged completely wrong. Overcharged for salad bar and 1/2 sandwich and no coffee. Flagged her down again and had her correct it. Sure her tip reflected this. Sad. My sister tips well when deserved. Doubt we will return, even for the salad bar when there are other local options for salad bars at a more reasonable price and other items included. Sorry. Sad to see the decline here. Good luck.

The bar area smelled like lacquer. Not sure if that's how it always smells since it was our first time here. The service was mediocre. The food was decent. The drinks were okay. The prices were good. Huge parking lot. Might go back one day, or we might just try a different spot.

This place is great. The food rocks and the salad has has both their amazing Cole slaw and ingredients for wedge salad so I don't have to purchase the wedge separately and at a better cost to add the salad bar. This is our go to place for a nice relaxing date night. Reservations taken up a lot of the tables so if you're just dropping in, get there early right after they open or sitting bar... both great seating.

It's a quaint steakhouse that locals go to. In the bar any day of the week you get $2 off appetizers & good rates on drinks. The service is amazing, they are happy you're there, I've never felt rushed. The food is delicious & at good prices.

Came here for dinner extremely happy smiling greeters. We were sat very quickly. For being such a big and busy restaurant it was quiet enough for us to have a conversation. It's nicely lit not too dark not too bright just perfect for a night out. The food was amazing started with garlic cheese break and the spinach and artichoke dip was perfect!!! Then ordered the peppered ribeye with mushrooms and roasted red pepper butter!! Let me tell you it was beyond delicious!!! Also ordered the peppered kabobs with green beans again amazing plate with great portions!! Btw our server was extremely attentive and fast!!! Great service!!

My BF remembers going to cask and cleaver, as a child. He assumed they were all gone, but I found one left, so I surprised him with dinner! The restaurant is a blast from the past, core memory unlocked! We had teriyaki chicken and steak and salad. They also have a bar and desserts, for the next time we come back By the way, the bread rolls are not to be missed!!

Great 80's style chop house! The prices are reasonable, especially with the cost of beef going through the roof these days, and their steaks are delicious! If they keep doing what they're doing, I'll keep showing up when I need a perfectly medium rare slab of meat to shove in my face.

Came here for my son's birthday. Food was fine, but for what it ended up costing I can think of better options. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth because despite telling our server it was my son's birthday, he did not receive a complimentary dessert or even a candle in the dessert he ordered -- unlike a man at the table next to us whom she brought ice cream with a candle, led a rendition of "Happy Birthday" and took a pic of their table. I assume she forgot.

I had a great steak. The service was awesome. It was Monday night so there was a football game going on. But it was on the other side. Had company from Florida. They really enjoyed it too. Our waitress was very good funny quick and witty.

What a great place!! Usually very good service. Tonight we were here with the family and our waiter was ok. When our meals came the server from the kitchen didn't know who ordered what! That's not professional. The waiter should have been present to direct her. Otherwise the food was truly exceptional and served quickly. We had a reservation and were taken in on time to a nice table location. I did feel a little rushed but it was 2 days after Christmas and it was busy. We will certainly be back for sure! Have been coming here for 2 yrs.

We go here often and love it. The food is top quality. We have eaten their steak which has been accurately cooked to order. The burgers are very tasty, soups are delicious and we have enjoyed their spinach, artichoke dip and bread. The servers are great, always getting our order right. Positive attitude. The establishment is a classic steak house.

My favorite place for prime rib because it never disappoints. The service is always excellent. I also love that such a legendary steak house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Also their salad bar option is a great add on.

Our waitress was super inattentive and honestly just racist (Caucasian girl with glasses and under armour shirt) Being the only person of color in her tables she was serving, she deliberately skipped us after taking our order (didn't say her name introduce us) and said she was gonna get our bread. Even when she took our order initially she made a face when we just ordered water, her demeanor acting as if we were wasting her time. 30 minutes already passed as we watched her literally check on the tables all around us, walking right past us and even bussing one single plate next to us (when there's bussers). When a girl finally noticed us and I told her, she said "oh it's because we're slammed." No apology, no acknowledgement and just asked us what kind of bread we wanted. The only saving grace was the girls in the front who we told we were leaving because of the blatant disregard and honestly, racist attitudes. If you're a person of color, don't expect to be treated as an equal here.

I WAS AS FULL AS A TICK ON A HUNTING DOG!!! I just love this place!!! They serve delicious meals in Booty Huge portions!!! (As delicious and huge as office rumors) I ordered the Smoothered Bleu Steak and Salad Bar. I was pretty hungry and kinda flustered from my hunger pains, that I forgot to take photos!!! The server was a delight (I forgot her name). All meals start with a bread basket. The salad bar is large with a great variety of items, including fabulous homemade potato salad, pasta salad and an Asian salad. The potato salad is my absolute favorite! My steak was perfectly cooked and smothered with mushrooms and Bleu Cheese. My meal came with a side,I chose the baked potato with works! Needless to say, I couldn't finish my meal, so I was able to have a second meal with the leftovers!

We celebrated a birthday at Cask n Cleaver. The service, cocktails and food were all top notch!! The whole restaurant was decorated for the holidays and looked so festive! I'd highly recommend!

It's a fun place. Salad bar is great. Fish and chips was very disappointing as I've always had big pieces of cod or haddock. Now the fish is like those frozen dinosaur I wish they would go back. Service is always outstanding

Me and my girlfriend came out for a nice evening at Cask. We were lucky to get Paris as our server. She was kind friendly and very thoughtful. The food was great the night was awesome. But we will come back because of the wonderful service we received from Paris. Thank you for an awesome experience

I went to Cask 'n Cleaver for an LA Kings watch party. There was a huge group of us as well as one or two other fairly large parties. You'd think the staff would be completely overwhelmed, but I did not ever have any reason to feel that way. The staff was SO on their game! I had the salad bar, which had everything you'd need, was clean, fresh, and well-maintained. Next time, I want to get the steak bites appetizer. They looked and smelled incredible, as did the burgers many people ordered. This is a place I think anyone could go to on a date, for a celebration, or with a large group. Yeah, it may be a bit in the "old" side, but to me, that just adds to the charm.

This place has been here for a long time, but I finally got the chance to try it out. On a Saturday night, it was pretty packed, so it's a chance you might not be able to grab a table without a reservation since it was a full house. We waited for about 10 minutes and were seated quickly. We met our friendly waitress who helped us with our orders and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu. The dining area feels pretty close to the other seats, but there is definitely a lot of seating to go around. It was very busy and had a good volume to the noise around us. We ordered the mammoth chicken, button mushroom appetizer, ribeye with mashed potatoes, and a prime rib with rice pilaf. Overall, the chicken felt a bit overcooked and wasn't a great experience since it was dry and a bit hard. The ribeye was cooked to medium and was a good flavor overall. The prime rib was cooked to medium rare and is spot on with the flavor and texture. The dishes are from least to most tasty and I'd recommend the prime rib for visitors, especially for the price since it was around $30-40 for the prime rib. This price is crazy to me with how good it was. Overall, this is a great place to visit for a steak/prime rib for celebration dinners or special occasions. I will come back when the time comes.

I don't know why a resturant that has great food and great bread cuts a cornet and can't serve real butter with there great bread. Wax felling on the roof of my mouth WTF?????

Ribeye was cooked to perfection. The seller bar was second to know very friendly waitresses will definitely be returning.
