Alex and the team at Cass House made our wedding a wonderful experience! The venue is beautiful and right across the street from the beach. The rooms themselves were great, and our wedding party really enjoyed staying at the venue itself. We are so glad we chose them for our wedding venue and highly recommend them!

Google
Overall, I have to give the whole experience of our son's wedding at the Cass House in Cayucos a 5 because, when viewed in it's entirety, it was so wonderful. The outdoor event in the garden the night before the wedding offered delicious wines and HDs, beautiful flowers "everywhere" for both days, a pair of musicians who were excellent for the service on the wedding day and meal/dancing in the outdoor dining area, not to mention once again delicious wines and a equally delicious food brought to us by knowledgeable and gracious chef and wine steward. Alex and Christine worked planning the wedding event flawlessly. Kudos.

The restaurant I'd planned to go to was closed for some reason, so I strolled down the street to the Cass House. Boy, am I glad I did. Short version: Great service and terrific farm-to-table food. Long version: Generally, as a woman traveling alone, I'm accustomed to receiving poor service, even in nice restaurants. I think there is a bias that goes with the assumption that women, especially older women, don't tip well. (I do; all my kids worked in food services growing up.) At Cass House, my server was terrific--quick, helpful, giving recommendations when asked for them but not pushy. She helped select the perfect wine as well. My food was to-die-for delicious. As a vegetarian, I sometimes struggle to find just the right menu item. The Cass House menu had plenty of choices for me, and with my server's suggestion, I decided on the roasted cauliflower. Oh my goodness! It was perfectly cooked with toasted almonds and sesame seeds, plated in a pool of delicious yogurt and covered with a pomegranate vinaigrette that was out of this world. I seriously cannot wait to return--and I live hundreds of miles away. Next trip up the Central Coast, though, I'll be stopping at Cass House for sure.

Cass House Grill in Cayucos is a fairly new restaurant for this little beach town. They just opened in June of this year. The food is great and the atmosphere low key. It's outdoor seating in their pavilion but it's sheltered enough and there are heaters above all of the entrances so you will not be cold. The food is served family style. Each of the dishes are large enough to feed 2 people. I picked 3 items and had them brought out in courses. It's all locally sourced in Cayucos and the other surrounding towns. They also have a vegetable garden on site. They also have a bakery on site that makes all of their desserts and baked goods for breakfast. This was a pleasant surprise during my weekend stay and I will definitely be coming back! If your are looking for something a little nicer for dinner, this is the place try.

Google
Overall an outstanding restaurant. Attentive and knowledgeable waiters and just as good in the kitchen. It's a prix-fix menu and as most of the 4 courses had 2 choices we pretty much tasted everything. We didn't get any of the optional courses (sliced meat and also cheese) as unless you're a professional eater you'll be done after the 4th course for sure. Highlights for us was the Melon appetizer (various melons with crackers and shaved feta), the fennel bread, and both desserts. None of the courses disappointed and would highly recommend.

Google
Such good, clean food. You feel lighter after eating it in the sparkling Central Coast light. The open-walled restaurant allows in all the breeze so you might want to bring a light jacket, but it is such an enjoyable dining experience.

Google
Food was really good. Definitely get the scallops. Large wine selection. Very limited beer selection and no liquor. Outdoor dining is very nice but can be quite cold at night. Bring a jacket or try to sit next to a gas heater.

We had a great experience at The Cass House! The rooms are clean and elegant. The Bijou Bakery on the property is incredible. 30 minutes to Paso Robles for wine tours. We highly recommend!

Yelp
Cass House has been on my radar for quite some time. I always thought that maybe it would be a little too fancy or stuffy maybe even requiring a coat and tie. I was wrong! Oh so very wrong. Cass House is an enjoyable eatery. When you arrive you can choose to sit by host in the interior (but still open) area, or seat yourself at the bar and high tops. All the food is cooked right behind the bar in a semi-outside kitchen so there isn't a bad seat in the house. We opted to sit outside with the nice weather - yes there are heaters! - and order light bites to share. We swooned over the delicious bread served with flaked sea salt and olive oil. Audibly enjoyed the cauliflower empanadas with this delicious dipping sauce. Freaked out over the salciccia flat bread which lovely chunks of sausage and dotted with little flowers. And finally gave praise to the lovely english peas that were beautifully charred on the outside (highly recommend ordering this!). Each dish was plenty to share and between three of us, we were stuffed. The wine and beer list is plenty and well enjoyed. I do wish there was a cocktail menu, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the food. Definitely head to Cass House ASAP!

Yelp
The pastries and quiches here are TO DIE FOR, truly delicious. I also love the venue and always feel whisked away when I am there. Beautiful and incredibly charming, a true Cayucos gem!

Yelp
Came in to try the tapas and grab some dinner since the menu looked good. We are big fans of Spanish food and I love patatas bravas, so I was pretty excited to try this place out. Well, now I get why patatas bravas was in quotations... this definitely wasn't close to what you get in Spain. I appreciate the colorful potatoes, but they were whole, smothered in oil and the aioli was not very good. Why they decided to do an aioli instead of a delicious tomato based brava sauce is beyond me. But the potatoes were cooked and seasoned well for what they were going for. I ordered a pizza for my entree and settled on the orchard pizza. It was a great balance of flavors, the apples, onions and bacon really paired nicely with the cheese. The crust however was a big disappointment. It was not evenly cooked at all, parts were doughy and some parts were pretty burnt. It was like the cook forgot to rotate it in the oven. Thankfully the service was great, the host and our waiter were both very friendly. Our waiter was on his game and kept our beverages topped off and very helpful with our couple questions. Overall the food was a disappointment especially at the price point. $14 for some roasted potatoes is crazy steep, especially with that awful aioli instead of fresh brava sauce. I'll definitely give em another try as the proteins that my mother in law and wife got both looked good.

Yelp
Orders the morning bun, coffee cake and a cup of coffee. The baked goods were delicious but the coffee was just okay. Would recommend their baked goods

Yelp
So glad we stumbled upon this wonderful place while exploring downtown Cayucos! We came here a couple times during our stay! Cass House is perfectly located right across the street from the pier! So you can grab a coffee and a yummy pastry and stroll down the pier and take in the view!!!! The pastries do NOT disappoint! We had h the e blueberry muffins and cinnamon scone with an americano and a latte on our first trip there. The scone was amazing!!!! My husband had the blueberry muffin...and said it was one of the best he's had! Both of us agreed their coffees were perfect!!!! Went back for one last stroll down the pier a couple days later and once again found their pastries to be SO GOOD! This time I tried the almond croissant...I think it's THE BEST almond croissant I've been had!!!!! The service has been nothing short of friendly and welcoming each time....kinda the vibe you get from this town! Am looking forward to a return trip to Cass House and to Cayucos!

Yelp
Classy, delicious, and a great staff. I love this place as much as I love Cayucos. Recommended.

Yelp
We finally made to The Grill. This place is very nice with some outstanding food. There were three people in our party. We ordered four dishes to share. They serve your food Tapas Style. Everything is ala carte. We all share the four dishes. The Beet Salad with Cherries was very impressive with some outstanding flavor. The dish with the Croutons, Tomatoes n warm Regatta Cheese was really good. The best part/item was the Tri-Tip with Cherry Tomatoes n Tomatillo Sauce. It was absolutely wonderful with some very robust flavor. I would highly recommend this place. It is not cheap but not expensive either this amazing food.

Yelp
I'll start by saying the food and atmosphere are very pleasant. Our servers Rebecca and Andrew were very attentive to our needs. The frustrating part was the lack of accommodations that Chris the matre de was able to Convey over the phone. We called for reservations for 6 and he told us that there was nothing he could do and couldn't accommodate a party of 6. When 4 of the ppl from our group walked by the place it was nearly empty. They went in and confronted Chris, he still continued to say there wasn't accommodations for 6. Chris didn't give any suggestions, like if we came earlier or later, or take your chances at the bar. He had no problem solving skills what so over. There were empty tables around us the entire hour we where there as the pictures show. He never came over and apologized or make any bit of effort to make things right. If you are looking for great food, great accommodating staff head to skooners. They will go out of their way to make things work and you feel welcome.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about Cass House! We had our wedding here on 6/22/19 and the whole experience was amazing. Jenna, the senior director, helped every step of the way during the year leading up to our special day. She's the best! Owner Tracy was very helpful as well. We loved staying in the house all week. Daily breakfast at The Bakery is always yummy (must have - avocado focaccia!) and the dinners at the grill, including our wedding food, was DELICIOUS!

Yelp
Two words: lobstah roll. The brunch is outstanding. Sit at the outdoor kitchen bar. Fab cappuccinos, legit wine list, fantastic service. If it's closed, go to their bakery next door. Just go.

Yelp
WOW! So so happy we found this place. Discovered Cass House on Tock. Made a reservation and here we are! We had an awesome server named Chris. He was helpful and lovely. The Tri Tip was KILLER as well as the harvest salad and broccoli I!!

Yelp
People extremely kind, food both beautiful and tasty. But! you need to know - they are open till 12.30 p.m. as a bakery and after 5.00 p.m. as Grill and they don't ever more have lobster roll. But my salmon tartare was good!

Yelp
We just celebrated our daughter's wedding at the Cass house. The whole process was amazing. We knew from the moment we stepped foot on the property at our first visit that this was the place. Alex Fuss, the venue director was so responsive through the entire process. Her team provided excellent service throughout the wedding. The food was fabulous! Several of our guests told us this was the best wedding food they ever had, and we agree!

Yelp
I had read the reviews and had friends recommend Cass House Grill for the last year or so. But seriously, I was still blown away by the quality of the dishes being served here. I took a friend to celebrate her birthday so we wanted to try several things and just take the extras for leftovers the next day. But once we tasted the food, we couldn't hardly stop! The meal we shared had to have been one of the most delicious I've ever had! We ended up taking home some extra quinoa salad--that's all that made it to a box! We had several plates since the menu is tapas style with some items enough for 2 while others seemed portioned for about 4. The dishes we ordered were: Heirloom tomato salad: 5 stars Order it! You won't be disappointed. The fresh heirloom tomatoes were incredibly fresh, ripe, and appropriately firm. Perfect greens, crusty tostinos, and warm cheese created the perfect flavor and texture combo. Grilled shelling peas: 5 stars Better than edamame. Perfectly grilled and drizzled with olive oil it seemed. We didn't even need the mild sauce, altho it was tasty. Quinoa salad: 4 stars As far as quinoa salad, this was one of the best I've tasted--and the portion was very generous. From memory, I think there was arugula, golden raisins, almonds and some roasted vegetables. Very good, but I can't rate this dish as high as the others--it wouldn't be fair to the knock-it-out-of-the-park 5 star dishes. It was a really nice quinoa salad nonetheless. Scallops: 5 stars off the charts! Expertly seared with a crunchy crust on both sides yet succulent in the middle. Perfection. The scallops are served over a purée of avocado and citrus (I believe it was lime) with shelled peas and chopped tiny pieces of asparagus. An absolute favorite of ours. Moroccan tri-tip: 5 stars all the way! Wonderfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely a treat to the taste buds. You will thank yourself if you enjoy beef. Cauliflower empanadas: 3 stars This was the only dish we didn't care for. The little empanadas were filled with creamy cauliflower and served with a brown dip that I will need to review the menu to remember. Compared to the flavors of the other dishes we ordered, this one was bland and dull including the brown side. Meyer lemon tart: 4.5 stars I loved loved the tartness of the lemon, but the crust was ordinary. It could have used ground nuts or something to liven it up. A crust made from brown butter cookies would also raise that tart to a whole other level. Service: 5 star Our server was helpful with suggestions and explanations, and yet left us to enjoy our long birthday evening in peace mostly. One note: I couldn't find Cass House on Open Table and they're not open all nights. So I called and left a message to make a reservation. I received a call back within two hours. However, the evening we arrived, our reservation was not in the system. Without skipping a beat, they accommodated us and we were seated within 2 min. (At a busy 6:30 dinner hour.) Ambiance: I enjoyed the openness of the grill and seating area. It feels fresh and warm with heaters at the same time. It's communal and yet the tables are a good distance apart. I absolutely look forward to returning. What a great fresh truly farm to table experience.

Yelp
I'm all in! This is the best, and when the best is the best, what more can be said? This is the best establishment on the central coast. The Inn, the dining, the bakery all fantastic. Try it for your selves... It's certainly worth the trip, for your vacation here, your wedding here, your perfect dream, put it on your list, it's a must.

Yelp
Love. Love. Love. I'm a sucker for a Farm to Table dinner that is shared family style. Add in a yummy wine and dessert menu and I'm swooning. Hubby and I shared... - cauliflower empanadas with truffle sauce - half roast chicken with burrata panzanella - homemade gnocchi with clams & fennel sausage - kale salad - custard with butterscotch and sea salt Holy smokes. DELISH. We did not want the dinner to end. The food is so fresh and never heavy, despite its deceptive caloric count. The menu changes quite often due to the ingredients being local, so expect the menu to reflect the fresh ingredients of that season. I want it to be known that I do not like custard. I don't like desserts that resemble custard. That's right, I'm looking at you Creme Brûlée! But I thought about this darn custard often. I even researched how to make it at home. But I relented. Because I'm not a pastry chef and nor do I need this dessert at my disposal. This is special. I know I know, glowing review with only four stars. I just found the price was a bit steep, especially because we brought our own wine. But definitely worth it! Just maybe a special occasion joint for us.

Yelp
This is a MUST when visiting Cayucos! We secured reservations for dinner on a Sunday night. Be sure to check the website or call ahead, they close for special events some saturdays. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, which was carried on by an equally friendly waitress. Everyone was so helpful explaining the menu & advising us what to order. We were not disappointed!!! Everything is homemade onsite, and they get their food locally. You can definitely tell the difference. This food was clearly locally sourced & made with care! We started with their focaccia bread...yum! We ordered the red chili empanadas for an appetizer. The sauce with it was wonderful! The food is set up to be shared, so we got the Cobb salad (a must!), the artichoke, and short ribs. Again, the difference in taste with the fresh ingredients was amazing! We finished with the cheesecake. Stop in! You will be glad you did!

Yelp
Enjoyed every minute here! My mother and I enjoyed a Turkey Panini and Vegetable Quinoa salad with chicken. Every bite was very good. The best part was dessert! We shared a Pecan Tart and it was wonderful.

Yelp
The Bakery was so good! The bacon quiche was outstanding! I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
I've been going to Cass House for about 10 years, now, back to when they were a tasting menu in the Cass House itself and the food was divine. Our return visit this time was so disappointing in terms of the quality of the dishes (and behavior of the chef) that we will not return, which is a shame since the staff are lovely and the cauliflower empanadas are so delicious. Tonight we arrived for our 8pm reservation, sat at the bar, and the staff and chef started shutting down the kitchen and tables while we ate our first course. Our waiter was lovely, but clearly had to tip-toe around the kitchen to be sure the chef would actually make the food we ordered. When we thanked the chef for agreeing to place an order we wanted, he remarked that he guessed people "liked to eat late" but there were still 3 full tables in the dining room and they take reservations till 8:30pm. In sum, message to the staff--pls don't book after 8pm if you want the chef to do his job without resentment--and our message to the chef--we can see you being inhospitable and it made us sorry for driving from Los Angeles to eat here since it used to be our favorite in the central coast.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday evening and place was packed! The two of us ordered the following from the Grill: - 5/5 Market artichokes cooked with tarragon butter, garlic aioli - Really yummy would order again in a heartbeat - 3/5 Neapolitan Margherita pizza - A bit stark and bland. Wish there were more of the toppings. - 4/5 Local pork loin with roasted brussel sprouts - Good taste and flavors. - 3/5 Grilled lamb & quinoa - don't know what to make of this dish as a whole as the quinoa was really delicious and the lamb was ultra-tender but the meat was a bit cold and on a rainy cold night where the seating, albeit with heat lamps, is pretty much open to the outdoors and it just did not feel quite right. There were too many cold entities on the dish. It's nice to hear that it's pretty much farm-to-table sort of foods which one can feel good about and they also try to retain the original texture and flavors of the ingredients. All in all, great effort on the staff for getting the ER in so quickly to tend to an ederly woman who fell and for making sure customers are being taken good care of.

Yelp
This place is really good! It was our last night in Cayucos and we wanted to try a local spot. We were not let down by Cass House. The food was presented beautifully and was all very delicious. Highlights were the curry beef empanadas (super moist in the middle), cauliflower dish, and the quinoa salad. This restaurant itself is really cool with lots of outdoor seating and semi-indoor sitting under a tent. Make sure to check online to see if it's open because they have lots of weddings here that books the whole place. Will definitely come back again when in Cayucos.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this fabulous restaurant on accident. Was looking for a breakfast place. First off.. the building itself is literally a roof.. with mesh screens as walls. No doors.. no windows.. the whole place is a patio. Heaters line the ceiling when cold. The kitchen is in a separate small building. Bakery nest to that. Everything is made from scratch! I had a breakfast burger without the egg. Very good. Wife had eggs Benedict she said was fabulous! Great beers on tap. Prices reasonable considering across the street at a family restaurant their burger was $13 and store bought buns.. ect. We were vacationing.. but hopefully we can return for dinner. Service was top notch. We stopped at the bakery., and most of the items we wanted were gone.. but they were making more if we wanted to come back. Definitely stop by and grab a meal here you won't regret it!

Yelp
What an amazing treat. Dinner included a flight of delicious wines, empanadas with duxelles, grilled cauliflower, wagyu tri tip and lamb chops. These were all exquisitely prepared and served with yummy sides and sauces the likes of which continue to marvel us. Alex, our server, made this an experience to try to repeat.
google avatar

Tony J.

Yelp
If your like me and have been searching for the lobster roll on the central coast search no more. The lobster were plentiful, no fillers here. The lobster meat is the main attraction. Lightly pickled onion mayonnaise is included along with celery salt and radish sprouts. The bread is what I can describe as Texas toast making love with Hawaiian bread. Get there lobster roll. No really do. I also had the oak grilled prawns with head (delicious!), was cooked perfectly. You can kind get a taste of the oak that it was made on. A welcome addition.
google avatar

Marina G.

Yelp
I've been here before and wanted my boyfriend to try the lobster roll.. the hostess was so arrogant and unfriendly she stated.. we have no tables tonight.. she didn't even offer to put our name down.. she begrudgingly did after I pushed a bit.. at 7:30 there were about 4 tables... Still did not try to accommodate us.. she just had a sneer on her face and tried to ignore us.. hoping we wouldn't ask for a table... Bad news!

Yelp
I strolled by the bakery for coffee on my last morning in town and ended up trying the vanilla caneles while I was at it. I barely have the words to describe that delectable, complicated baked morsel. I've never had one before so it was like the fireworks of a first kiss. Let me try to explain: It's petite in size but massive in flavor and texture. The outside is a crunchy, golden brown caramelized layer that then reveals the inner part that is cakey/spongey/fluffy (this is the part where my words are insufficient and wish I had taken a picture before devouring my morning treat). MmMmm! The coffee was good too, and I was able to sip it as I leisurely walked along the beach. On a previous visit I tried the popover which was big and airy and delightful with its sweet honey butter pairing. The entire restaurant is gorgeous with it's open air seating and kitchen, beautifully located right near the pier. I'm a big fan and will make Cass House a habit whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
We have been here 4-5 times and it's always been amazing! Cobb Salad. Ribs. Desserts. It's all really good. Today my wife and I went for our anniversary not knowing Monday's they do a modified menu and it's open seating. I asked the manager if she could make an exception and make a Cobb salad for us. She apologized and said they were in able too. Understandably. So we ordered pizza, salad and prawns. Everything was great but the prawns. Pretty fishy. Kinda soggy. So we didn't eat them. The manager noticed and came to us asking if we liked them. We told her no. She asked if we would like our money back, we politely declined. Next thing we knew she showed up with cupcakes and a gift card refunding us. This just shows what a great place this is. Even though it wasn't the best experience, they made up for it and still our #1 restaurant.

Yelp
Really really disappointing Bakery Morning pastries not available when they open Cheddar biscuit was excellent Vanilla canele was average Very limited selection at 7am on a Saturday morning
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
The restaurant is amazing; a bit overpriced but very good. The bakery is stupid that it's only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In a town where tourism is 100% of its business, you only open 3-days? Even the restaurant has strange hours.....I do remember the restaurant being closed one random day 6-months ago. But it's not a place, I'd go every day even if money was no object. But the bakery is some place I'd spend $20 every day while in Cayucos and walked away a few mornings thinking WTF is wrong with some people and spent my money somewhere else.

Yelp
WOW!!!!!! We had a family member's wedding at Cass House Inn and it was extraordinary in every single way!!!! We had each of the four guest rooms for our families( bride/groom, and parents of each in the other rooms). It felt like we were having the wedding and reception and day before and after in our own home but the sweetest woman, Alex, in charge of every detail to make certain everything was the best it could be. That is was!!!!! And the charm, cleanliness and catered food... all five stars!!!! THANK YOU ALEX!!!!!

Yelp
My recent return visit to favorite beach town, Cayucos, included a mid-week afternoon lunch at Cass House Grill. I had previously had dinner at the Grill and was very impressed. The atmosphere, with indoor/outdoor seating, offers stylish and spacious feel in covered patio setting, as well as the outdoor grill bar. Wine list included excellent BTG options from top local wineries. The highlight of the day was Cauliflower Empanadas, with mushroom Parmesan dipping sauce. Truly amazing! Wood fired Pepperoni Flatbread pizza with Jalapeno and honey offered excellent flavor layers. We would have preferred less honey drizzled on the edge, though, as it was a bit too sweet for our taste. Service was friendly and professional at all times. Way to Go Cass House Grill! I would highly recommend visiting Cayucos and dining here!

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp. Cayucos is my favorite Central Coast town to spend my days so I am always looking for a new place to eat and relax. FOUND IT! Gorgeous restored Victorian property. You eat outside without it necessarily feeling outside. The staff was super friendly and efficient (shout out to Kristin our server...she was awesome). We sat down around 1345 for their brunch menu. We started off with a starter of deviled eggs ( I love deviled eggs and I have never seen them on a resturaunt menu). Perfect deviled eggs! For our main course we decided on the breakfast pizza and the brunch burger. Both are topped with fried eggs (dont judge me...its my free day on Body For Life). So how was it???? Soooooo good! Everything was perfect! Ambiance, service, food and a very reasonable price for sitting outside, across from the beach, great service and amazing food. Ive paid double for way less. Give it a try. Check their hours as they have 3 different menus. They also have a 5 room in and a venu for events.

Great espresso offee, wonderful pastries and next to a kiosk with ample covered outdoor seating, perfect to sip the coffee in a nice garden.. Careful COVID setup.

Yelp
Where to begin! This was a five star experience - the food, the vibe, the ICED TEA was amazing. Seriously. And the pepperoni pizza with drizzled honey (whuut?) is delish, a must-try!! We arrived during the lunch rush this past Saturday afternoon and although service was slow, the above mentioned experience made that a non-issue. Also worth mentioning - owner who came and checked on us (thank you!) - works on the front lines. Literally, seating people and serving and was moving just as quickly as her team members. If you've read any of my reviews, you know I am a sucker for above and beyond customer service experiences- as customer service is just practically non-existent these days. She showed she cared about her customers and her team members and I greatly appreciate that. She also took the time to share with us how this incredible property came about and you can see pride of ownership and the passion she shares with - (lucky) us!!! Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy a five star meal, drinks, in an outdoor setting. We will most certainly be back! Oh and the bathrooms shined too!

Yelp
3rd visit, and this redeemed our last visit. Service was attentive, food was tasty and fresh. I had the lobster bisque and steak panini, while my wife had the turkey panini. Coming for lunch, we still made them aware we were coming for our anniversary, but no recognition or acknowledgement. Regardless, we still had a nice lunch and will definitely return.

Yelp
Cass House is one of my favorite spots on the central coast. My hubby and I have eaten the a few times in the past 2 months. Dinner twice and brunch once. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is great and the food is always fantastic! On our last visit, we had the artichoke, prawns, and pork ribs. Every dish was prepared perfectly. The wood oven and grill adds so much flavor!

Yelp
I was a big fan of Cass House's old dining concept (multi-course prix fixe) and was sad when they closed. In fact I was so sad that I didn't come back to Cayucos for three years just on principle...ok, actually we had a baby and that's why I haven't been down here since 2015. Anyway, I was back in town on a much-needed solo weekend and decided to see what Cass House was up to. I had the citrus salad with whipped feta and the housemade mushroom fettucine. Good flavors. Minor quibbles: salad actually had too much citrus for me (felt like maybe an orange and a half, I didn't finish it) and they brought out the salad and the fettucine at the same time so my pasta got cold while I was working on the salad. I made sure to have room for the chocolate torte (that bar of dense chocolate goodness you see in other people's yelp photos) and was happy I did -- it's super tasty and I want to figure out how to reverse engineer it immediately. I still miss the old concept, but it was nowhere near as busy as this new concept so I can see where it makes business sense to switch things up. The new place reminded me a lot of The Table in San Jose in terms of flavors and vibe. Would return.

Yelp
Good food, generous portions for sharing. Very innovative menu from locally sourced products. The chargrilled peas! Sounds weird but a must try. Good local wine list with generous pours. The desserts are noteworthy as they're made on site. They have veggie options. Chef makes tremendous use of his pro-grade, wood fired, Santa Maria barbeque and adjacent pizza oven. The dining room is an outdoor patio enclosed, quite effectively, to contain the propane lamps when it's chilly. On a cold night people were wearing sweaters and lots of down vests. Very casual, fun place. Beer and wine only.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience at Cass House. The rooms were clean and elegant. The Bijou bakery on the property is incredible as well. Easy 30 minute drive to Paso Robles. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Yelp
What a great way to spend the evening here in this "open air" dining room. The menu is created to share items, so we had 4 beautiful courses. The cauliflower empanadas were our unexpected favorite! A gorgeous stone fruit salad, a generous amount of soft roasted potatoes with a clever aioli sauce and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Finished with butterscotch pot de creme, it was over the top! Can't wait to go back!,

Yelp
Drove into town and happen to park across the street. As we walked towards the pier I smelled oak pit que. Ended up at The Cass House Grill and I must say I was impressed. Atmosphere all open, the kitchen is open in the bar. All staff were polite and the beverages were cold. We ordered the Turkey Panini, full of flavors of red bells and moist turkey. Nice little gem. We will be back. Great to see and find these places.

Yelp
I'm so sad to hear that Cass House will no longer be serving dinner! I'm hosting a business-related retreat next month, and had intended to bring my team here as a treat at the end of the meeting...

Yelp
Love that they offer gluten free options! Most places only have 1 or 2 items. I had their lemon scones and they were delicious and they have homemade almond milk with pieces of almond in it. Will definitely stop by again next time we're in Cayucos.

Yelp
My husband and I went to the Cass House this weekend and stayed at the House for the first time, we've eaten at the Grill several times and always love it and we absolutely loved our time at the house. We spent two nights in the house which is a beautiful, historic home that is so well done. Everyone on staff is wonderful, and we felt like it was a little retreat- very relaxing but still fun and of course we ate good the whole time with the grill on the premises. The owner Traci could not have been sweeter or more accommodating, we loved her! Could not say enough about how lovely our experience was, thank you Cass House staff you made our weekend!

Yelp
Walking into Cass House you are greeted by ... well no one and no obvious hostess station. After walking to the hostess station in the middle of the restaurant the food and service more than make up for any confusion. Everything we tried was excellent - the empanadas are perfectly flakey, scallops were crusted and fresh and the tri-tip delicious with the unique Moroccan spices. There are not many choices in the area for upscale or farm to table dining and Cass house more than delivers in a casual comfortable atmosphere. One of our new favorites for sure! This place really deserves the good reviews!
