8 Essential Foods to Eat in Santa Monica, California - AFAR

"A stylish spot channeling authentic Singaporean, Malaysian, and Vietnamese comfort food with a lively, shareable menu and tropical cocktails. Highlights include Kaya Toast with coconut jam and slow-cooked egg, the playful “Sunbathing” Vietnamese prawns (served with heads for sucking), a creamy Koda Farms chickpea curry, and a signature laksa—rich with tiny shrimp, mussels, fish cake, and thick, chewy rice noodles—that delivers comforting, sometimes-spicy Southeast Asian flavors." - Kathryn Romeyn

Like several others who are reviewing Cassia, my experiences have been very similar. Hired under certain promises, for example we pay for prep time and we pay for your supply expenses. Then a few weeks in - oh no, just prep time here at Lakeside AND it has to be within my hours which means they are NOT paying for prep time. Expenses? Turned in several expanse reports for supplies for activities - which is what I was hired for. Received one payment and then after that nothing. Got hauled into the office and told expenses are too excessive, CORPORATE won’t pay - and they haven’t. Continued to turn in expenses and am then told ALL have to be pre-approved by my Supervisor. Well this is after the fact. Turned in the same expenses again and am NOW TOLD, NO, you have to have your supervisor buy your supplies. Make up your mind folks. So lied to about prep time, lied to about expenses. Then I am asked to help out the pastoral staff which I gladly agreed to do AND time was approved. THEN get hauled on the carpet for TOO MUCH TIME and reminded it has to be approved WHICH IT ALL WAS. Brought into the office yet again and told I was being transferred to the nursing home side. I said “No, absolutely not!” My crafts are far too advanced for those folks and I had made some great friendships among the assisted living folks. They were STUNNED at my turning them down and then sheepishly asked if I would handle that afternoons activity project. I agreed to do it for the sake of the residents, NOT to help out the staff. I kept communicating with the Activity Director (Ashleigh) and she rarely got in touch with me - only to say NO to any plans I may have made or was attempting to change which was ALWAYS for the benefit of the residents.. THEN she had the audacity to tell me NOT to send long emails - this coming from the person who doesn’t respond to communications at all most of the time. Since my dismissal/resignation on 4/5/2024 I have written to her and to the administrator, Dan three times requesting payment for my supplies. NO ONE HAS responded to my requests. Next step for me is small claims court. I had paid for several of the supplies myself, but now I will bill them for the ENTIRE amount of ALL the supplies. Exceptionally poor management, who apparently circle the wagons once they are called out and then go into hiding. In discussion with the residents I have also found that they have been bullied into this or that, whatever staff wants. Many of the management staff at Lakeside in Dassel are quite young and while I will make allowances for their youth, their inexperience, they have made no attempt to fix things. Shoot, they won’t even ANSWER my request for payment for supplies. How Unprofessional is that? Two weeks and three emails is enough to wait for an answer. I will be busy next week filing a claim in conciliation (small claims) court. With all of the documentation I have regarding failure to communicate with me, it will be a slam dunk - and then they can also pay for my court costs. DO NOT WORK HERE, DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY TO THIS PLACE. If they can’t treat their staff with more respect, it isn’t hard to imagine how they treat the residents. I see “corporate” on occasion responds to these reviews. I would LOVE to hear from them - maybe they would like to reconsider before I file for my money in court. IF they do - I will delete this review but I’m NOT holding my breath! REVIEW POSTED 4/19/2024 @ 6:25pm. I’ll be waiting…

This place’s a joke. I’ve never seen a big lier HR like this trash home care company! If you wanna lose your parents, then go ahead! the whole HR and management is a full of lier! I think we have to go to the state about this big scandal going on in this home care! They treat the employees like a second citizen! They’re gonna lose their company pretty soon for sure!

I loved my Cassia location…the staff, the residents and especially my leadership team. Corporate Cassia, however, ruined everything for this community. Corporate only sees the bottom line, they no longer follow their mission, vision, or values and have no clue what actually goes on inside a community. They “help” from afar and by help, demolish everything employees put into their community. Their solutions to help communities only involves them making every decision instead of actually asking the people who work within the community and truly care about the residents. Cassia is a joke and should be ashamed of their actions! They don’t serve, they don’t care and they surely don’t see the big picture.
