Cassis Restaurant Mâcon

We went as a couple, and had the 7 courses menu and I must say it was fantastic. So many flavours put together in each bite, that I wanted more of each course, but luckily I didn’t because then I would not be able to finish the desserts. Fantastic experience.

We dined as two couples from a river cruise stop in Macon ( we forgo the wine tour for a slow day in town) . Macon is a quaint town that is very walkable with some nice churches, architecture, shops and restaurants. As noted by other reviewers if you do not have any severe allergies or need to change items in the menu ( which is not the custom in France). That said, it’s one of the best meals in our trip. You will need Google Translate to order here. Even for a week day reservations are a must. The four course meal for lunch was very reasonable and service was excellent. The pre fix menu was limited but all the dishes were excellent. Worthy of a 1 star Michelin restaurant ( better than 99% of French restaurants in the States). The freshness of ingredients, the presentation and taste were excellent. My only regret is that I may not have the chance to go back in the future for another meal.

If you like to be surprised and you don't have any allergies - it will be a high quality meal for a reasonable price! Accompanying wines are a nice to have gimmick but check their wine list, it's worth trying. The staff probably speaks English but does it unwillingly. There were 2 small " greetings from the house " which is really nice. The pictures show the actual menu in August 2025

Fantastic food presentation and flavors, great wine list, better than most Michelin star restaurants I’ve visited.

If you are in Macon you must go to this restaurant, the staff are friendly, the food is amazing and the wine pairings are perfect. We love it !

I’ve enjoyed an absolutely wonderful dinner here with my partner. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The quality of the food was truly outstanding and the flavours were balanced. Each course was surprising and the wine pairing was on par. I can definitely recommend Cassis if you are looking for good food and a great ambiance.

Wonderful, delicious and quaitly food and wine at truly reasonable prices. Certainly one of our regulars. Lovely staff and excellent chef. Highly recommend.

Best cuisine available in Macon. Open Mondays as well!
